Downtown’s Cajun-Creole fixture pairs live music with jambalaya, etouffee, and steaks. Recent coverage in the Visalia Times-Delta confirms new stewardship and continued programming upstairs and on the roof.

Funny thing is that we have ordered from here several times and today was our first time actually walking in to eat after 8 years of living in Visalia 🤣. It was a pleasant surprise. New Orleans type vibe very cool and fancy. The staff on point and polite. I had the chicken Alfredo and my wife had the chicken Gordon Blue. We ended with some cheesecake and at this point could use a nap of how full we were 😎. I wasn’t planning on leaving a review so I didn’t take any pictures but I’ll tell you this, every year we order our anniversary dinner from here and have been for the last 8 years. Now that we have experienced it in person we will definitely be back. 🙌 I was able to snap a pic of the deserts cheers!

Google
Crawdaddy's is hands down my absolute favorite restaurant in and around the Visalia area. As you walk through the front doors you're instantly transported into their little piece of New Orleans. The decor, the atmosphere, the smell of the most delicious food, even the staff. I cant say enough good about this restaurant and it's incredible staff. The food is absolutely to die for. From the seafood, the pastas, to the sauces. Everything on the menu is packed with flavor and beautiful presentation. If you're in the Visalia area definitely don't sleep on this cusine gem. I drive 3 hours regularly to eat here and am never disappointed. Atmosphere 10/10 Staff 10/10 Food 10/10

One of the best times of my life! The band was amazing and the entire place felt like old friends after about five minutes! Also, the menu had a huge variety and extreme options that just blew us away! Got to meet the owner, Kieth, and he was just a total blast!

Google
We have really started making Crawdaddys a regular part of our rotation downtown. There’s a lot of new places opening but the value, service and food are top notch. Only place in town that has live music during dinner. We had such a memorable experience at a recent anniversary dinner.

Google
“She’s so good at her job, she forgot there was an employee review!” After I told Shyla I had posted about the amazing drink she made me, she lit up — not because of a contest or recognition, but because she genuinely loves what she does. Shyla was so positive, kind, and attentive — she made an incredible strawberry lemon basil drop and gave just as much care to the guest next to me. I originally stopped by just to pick up my card from a few nights ago, but her warm energy and professionalism made me want to stay for a drink. She’s the kind of person who makes a place feel special.

Google
Business dinner for 25 and everything was exceptional. The food, the service, and the atmosphere. Very fun and enjoyable time.

Yelp
Passed through a couple of months ago and stopped in for a couple of drinks. Manager was super friendly and everyone seemed to be having a good time!

Yelp
Food, to expensive for the lack of taste. Same with the cocktails, incredibly sweet. I've tasted better Long Island ice teas. Service, good. Ambiance was the only thing worth staying for.

Yelp
While visiting the area we tried this restaurant. The atmosphere and ambiance were great! They had a live band and a really nice decor inside. It almost transported you to Louisiana! The food was okay. We got the appetizer sampler and one of the shrimps on the appetizer menu. The shrimp was delicious and it had a great sauce and tasted great with the slices of bread. The sampler platter was just okay. The chicken wings were kind of fatty and gross. What we were most surprised by is that the menu is posted on here are very out of date and several of the prices were nearly double. I included an updated menu.

Yelp
This is such a cool atmosphere; Visalia y'all are moving on up. New Orleans meets Downtown Visalia. Holidays are select menu options. Weekend evenings are live music; which is pretty cool. Ordered the bayou prawns and rice ; omg that sauce is killer; I ate it on my rice and my shrimp and almost licked the plate. I was eyeballing it for sure. I want that receipe. My husband ordered the grilled calamari; different texture; not heavy ; however I did miss the crispyness of being fried lol. Bring on the grease lol. I must say it was tasty though and much healthier option. The bar makes drinks like hurricanes and all the cocktails you find in NOLA. Two floors to dine in and a bar ; I will be back !

Yelp
Bartenders were very nice, on St. Patrick's Day no less, always had good live music when I was here, not much dancing just a couple older couples, though I think there's another floor I haven't visited. I wish they knew how to make a Dark 'n' Stormy but I guess that's too bougie of me to ask, I won't dock them points on it since they are in fact one of the best spots in town. Crowd skews older like 45-65 I'd say, or the few younger people with good taste in music. Maybe the younger crowd is in a different part of it where they play hip hop or so I've heard. Anyway it does get very busy even on random nights, I wouldn't want to work here during the pub crawls.

Yelp
Crawdaddy's is old school fine dining in downtown Visalia. They have a full bar downstairs and a large elegant dining room upstairs with another bar. It was pretty empty for an early dinner. We were seated immediately. Service was very attentive. They have a modest wine list but it is good quality. The Caesar salad and crab cakes were both excellent - flavorful and well prepared. I even snagged a bite of the etoufee which was similarly well prepared. I will definitely be back. Great service, reasonable prices and lots of options in an elegant and quiet environment.

Yelp
You cannot go wrong with Crawdaddys! My favorite is the Big 'ol' Bowl of Red Beans & Rice. It has andouille sausage & is so good! It's fun to be downstairs & see all the action or more quiet, with a group , upstairs.

Yelp
Amazing food, nice ambiance, and excellent service from our bartender, Shyla. My wife ordered the Bayou Butter Prawns, and I had the Lamb Chops...both were excellent. We had the Acadian shrimp & crab cakes for appetizers, and those are definitely our "go to"s next time we come in. Definitely recommend

Yelp
We were traveling in CA on a family trip & heard about this restaurant on the radio & decided to book a reservation. Martha helped us while we were there & OMG she is sooooo sweet & amazing! She helped me decide on which entree because I couldn't make up my mind & went with the spicy shrimp & scallop pasta & WOW was it good! She kept everyone in our party full of beverages & asked multiple times if anyone needed anything. She was such a treat to have as our server that day. Definitely ask for her if you can! :)

Yelp
I came here for drinks and dessert tonight with my husband. We sat in the bar area and there was a live band playing. We had a great time. The band was great, and one of the bartenders even joined in to sing a song. They have big doors lining the bottom floor, and since it was a warm night all of the doors were open so the music poured out onto the streets. The decor is very dated but it adds to the charm. Our server was great and very attentive while dodging dancing adults and kids and fighting to hear over the music. We had the bread pudding bites for dessert. It was a smaller portion than I expected, and since the bites just sat on top of the sauce, they were crispy but also a bit dry. This dessert read as almost more of a funnel cake to me, but it still tasted good. To drink, I had the blood orange margarita and my husband had the Moscow mule. The Moscow mule used fresh ginger, but lots of it, so it was very gingery. The blood orange margarita almost tasted more like a pink lemonade, I couldn't really taste the alcohol and it was a bit overly sweet. We then shared the Bourbon Street Hooker cocktail. This was a very interesting cocktail, it was definitely stronger than the first two, but the flavors didn't really seem to go together, it wasn't very smooth. All of the drinks were decent but I think the proportions were slightly off with all of them. Overall the dessert and drinks were decent, but the vibes will definitely have us coming back!

Yelp
had a great time....band was fun. danced with everyone and great place to have a birthday party

Yelp
Fun spot downtown for dinner or just drinks. Downstairs has a live band more than a few nights during the week. More of a party vibe on the lower level. Upstairs is an upscale experience with beautiful drinks and all of our food was very delicious. Our waiter was very professional & approachable.

Victoria A.

Yelp
Food is always exceptional. Thursday night, band was playing. Thought we were going to have a wonderfully quick dinner but there was a great band playing. Say no more

Skip N.

Yelp
I go to lunch there 2 to 3 times a week. They have specials everyday aside from menu items. Every item I had has been fantastic. Dinners are excellent. Been going here for 20 years

Yelp
Disappointing. As somebody who has had homemade Cajun, my wife and I were excited to try Crawdaddy's. We figured we would get our Cajun fix without having to drive to Clovis. We were wrong. First off, the serving is very small for what you pay. That wasn't a deal breaker for us. We've had similar experiences at higher-end restaurants. However, the quality was absolute trash. My wife for example my wife got the Pasta Jambalaya Dinner. It was 25 dollars and came in what I would call an appetizer-sized bowl. She took her first bite and made a face. When I asked what was wrong, she had me try it. The shrimp was stringy, super rubbery, and obviously low quality, possibly microwaved. There was almost no flavor in the sauce. For cajun food, especially Jambalaya, there should be a strong flavor profile. This tasted like it came out of a box. I had the Acadian Pasta Dinner and it was the same. Stringy rubbery shrimp. Pasty pasta and bland sauce. We did try them again with little improvement. I really don't know how this place stays open! I do see lots of older patrons, so maybe they like bland food. Do yourself a favor and spend the 30 bucks on a boil bag from a local place, or even better, take a 40-minute drive to Clovis and go to Papa's Place. There are a couple of bad reviews from out-of-towners who are from Louisiana on Tripadvisor talking about how absolutely bland and gross this food is.

Yelp
Omg love this place. Came on a Wednesday. They had Matthew as entertainment. He gives out a paper with tons of songs on it . You choose a song and shout it out so he can sing and play guitar. It's crazy he knows every word without looking at anything. He interacts with the guests . So much fun. The food was delicious too. Pricey but worth it. Great meals and ambiance. 100% recommend this place while the have entertainment. Great job Matthew!!!!!

Yelp
Great food, great music, all in all, a great experience. This is a slice of the deep south, right here in visalia. It doesn't get any more american than that. By the way, the other night, they sang, God bless America. The crowd loved it, except for one communist lady. Hard to please an angry blue haired vegan.

Yelp
We went for my sisters birthday, our dinners were wonderful! The service was great! We stayed for the Bob Zany comedy show and had a great time!

Yelp
Visiting area for first time and picked crawdaddy from yelp reviews Food and atmosphere was great . Ate upstairs and decor was nice If your can't climb the steep staircase , they have an elevator Food was great , had calamari appetizer , small Cesar salad and was recommended to try the ribeye Each dish was delicious , ribeye was cooked to perfection and not fatty Wife had jambalaya and requested no rice and kitchen makes the dish from scratch I'm Allergic to shellfish but they said they can substitute shrimp with scallop and the shrimp will not need premade I'm Excited , I haven't had jambalaya in years because of shrimp allergy Coming back tomorrow night Very nice place and excellent service Don't forget dessert , I had Oreo cheesecake and it was great

Yelp
This is my absolute favorite dinner spot in the valley. We live in Kingsburg so we get the best of Fresno and Visalia. I would choose crawdaddy's over any other restaurant. I have tried a few things on the menu and every time it's an amazing dish. The service is excellent. The waitress gave us recommendations and always made sure we had everything we needed. The atmosphere is very relaxing upstairs and perfect for a date night or celebration. Absolutely give them a try!

Yelp
Upstairs older female hostess around 7pm 11/03/2024 If you are a person of color, do NOT bother coming here. My wife and I had reservation's upstairs. There was no line, and it was not busy at all. Only two tables were pre-occupied. There was an older hostess who pretended like she did not see us even though I caught her glancing at us multiple times. About 6-8 minutes passed by before the hostess finally acknowledged us and sat us down. I am not exaggerating when I say that this hostess AGGRESSIVELY poured water into our glasses and spilled sooooo much on the table and walked away. She did not apologize nor did she ever return with a cloth to clean up the mess she made. Then the table behind us were having very loud, racial & discriminatory conversations. And guess what? The hostess said nothing about it. My wife and I felt very uncomfortable by the entire experience and just left the restaurant.

Yelp
EVERYTHING and more! Your experience will be amazing! The menu offers something for everyone, the chef is amazing. From the atmosphere, staff and entertainment .....it does not disappoint!

Yelp
Today was one of those "where the hell have I been " moments. I've always wanted to try this place but never seem to make it over here. So today we went to one of our go to places and they were closed. So today was the perfect time to check out Crawdaddy's. Being that it's Christmas Eve today maybe that's why it wasn't very busy. There were just a few people in the restaurant. So we were seated immediately. Our server wasted no time arriving at our table and taking our drink orders. Crawdaddy's is a New Orleans themed restaurant. With New Orleans style food. My wife ordered the shrimp gumbo and I had the Cajun shrimp pasta. The food didn't take long at all and man it was off the hook delicious. The sauce on my dish was so savory and was such a delight to eat. My wife's gumbo also had so much flavor. Our server did a great job of checking on us and also brought some tasty bread sticks to go with our meals. After eating I used the restroom and noticed the amazing decor on the walls. I guess I shouldn't have been to surprised. Bcz they do have a stage and have live music on scheduled nights. They have some amazing pictures of different bands and musicians. Some are autographed. As you go into the men's bathroom there is sports memorabilia wonderfully placed on those walls. Idk why I didn't notice the musical decor earlier. But they have some very cool stuff going on throughout the restaurant. This was such a great dining experience that we will definitely be back. The place is clean and the service is amazing!

Yelp
As one who lived in Southeast Texas for many years, I got accustomed to great Creole/Cajun cuisine. But when I returned to my hometown of Bakersfield California, I faced a desert with a lack of good Cajun choices. I had a friend of mine who owned a Cajun crab place on the south side of Bakersfield in The little Hamlet of pumpkin center, But It was limited to seafood and not the other great dishes known to that area. So I decided to give this place a try. And I have to say that I was impressed. The season waitress that was there, took a orders and was very warm and receptive. And the place reminded me of some of the downtown area bars in Southeast Texas. I started off with the sampler appetizer and I liked it. The boudin balls were tasty, and the rest of the sides were excellent. Then I moved on to the bowl of etouffee. It was one of those dishes that if you only took one bite it'd be kind of spicy but the more I ate the hotter it got and I like it that way. In all I will return to this place. I enjoyed my time and the food.

Yelp
Martha is an awful server!!!! Not inventive, rude, not helpful absolutely awful server

Joseph S.

Yelp
Very disappointed I service and food. I use to like their Rib Eye, it use to be a nice cut with little fat. Tonight's Rib Eye had a lot of fat and not as thick as before. I made the additional mistake of ordering the special Rib Eye with pepper and sauce. It was just a Rib Eye with a lot of A1 sauce thrown on top and another $3. Cocktails were pricey and not that good. Waitress said meal came with bread which in the past would come before meal, I had to ask for bread and when they did bring it out it was only 2 pieces of bread sticks in a breadbasket, pretty cheap. For 2 Rib Eyes and a few cocktails over $140, pricey for what u get. I will not be back for dinner here as it was disappointing and cheap for what you are charged. I heard the owner is looking to sell the establishment and it shows.

Yelp
Creole or Cajun lack of flavor not even close to the real thing. We ordered boudin ball and crab cakes. Frozen food, refried. Crab cakes are more cake than crab. That's why they are called crab cakes. Lesson learned. Boudin had no flavor of pork or chicken or rice. Very disappointing. I asked for a scotch and they brought me bourbon. Even after I named the bottle. Try at your own risk don't recommend.

Yelp
We have been here twice and both times we've had the best service (thank you Dora for your amazing service!). We like to sit upstairs where it's quieter than downstairs where there is live music and people are enjoying their after work drinks. The bar upstairs is beautiful and it has a great ambiance too. Everything we've ordered has been delicious so I would recommend anything on the menu. Drinks are tasty and there's a great wine selection.

Yelp
We had awesome service and delicious food, the portions were huge! I split the jambalaya with a friend and we still had to take home leftovers! We had the artichoke hearts as an appetizer and the gumbo shrimp bowl to share.

Yelp
Absolute gem of a local eatery! Definitely the place to go for live music and top-notch food and drinks. The service was phenomenal! Highly recommend this spot for a late-night dinner date!

Yelp
This was my first time at Crawdaddy's and I was part of a party of 8. Reservations had been made for 10 of us, but only 8 showed up. What I like is that the first couple to arrive was seated immediately (a little prior to our reservation time) and the others were seated as they showed up. I like this so much better than those restaurants that make you wait until everyone shows before seating the group. I had the grilled calamari appetizer to start. I'm used to fried crispy calamari, so this was a different experience. I then had the blackened catfish which was good, but not spicy. I lived in New Orleans when blackened redfish was the craze, so for me, the catfish could've been spicier. All in all, the service was outstanding, Keith, the owner spent some time with us and that was nice. The food was plentiful and of excellent quality. My only disappointment was that despite the restaurant name there were no crawdads on the menu. I was hoping for a crawfish etouffee or something southern, but it wasn't to be.

Yelp
Right as we walked in (wife & myself) the owner welcomed us with open arms. That's the way to welcome new ppl to your restaurant! Sat down & or waitress was very professional & gave us everything that we needed & wanted. Was very pleased with the atmosphere, waitress, waiters, you just don't get this kind of hospitality anymore from a lot of restaurants unfortunately. Old school professional manners is what I'm trying to say! 90% or more restaurants just look at you as a dollar sign. Not at Crawdaddys! By the way, the wife & I were very pleased with the food here too. & you can't go wrong with the cocktails here either. Very delicious! Keep up the good work. You have customers for life now

Melissa C.

Yelp
I don't usually get on here unless it's absolute amazing or if it was really bad. unfortunately it's the latter and I decided to have Mother's Day dinner there. I'm not sure what's going on with the prices changing to more money because it's Mother's Day, but you would think their might be a special you know since it's Mother's Day and all , but no the prices are actually higher for the same food they might serve any other time of the week. Really I don't understand the justification in this since I was not informed of menu price differences until we were seated. Anyways, we tested several of the chardonnnay and its was like vinegar. I ended up ordering a filet mignon , which by the didn't come with a salad and most dinners come with one, not this one this one was extra so we waited and my dinner came out with the wrong steak and everyone else got theirs, ev3n my daughter got a bloody steak. so being Mother's Day I was actually appalled that they brought out another steak immediately that was raw and I showed her I couldn't eat it and I'm not gonna pay $70 for a raw steak besides that they planted a potato on my plate that wasn't even cut on there with the butter soaking in the blood of the meat. I couldn't eat it and I asked her to take it back I wasn't paying for that so my husband gave me a piece of his steak and while he was cutting into his steak, he pulled out this very large looking piece of worm looking, I don't know what it was, but after that, we just couldn't even eat our dinner and we didn't pay for that either I don't know what standards are being set for this restaurant, but it's called crawdaddys and I have never saw anything on the menu that was Cajun or Cajun like. I will never go back there again because my trust is gone and to really say that they need to set their standards higher for people if going to charge that much money for food and charge a gratuity of 20% if it's a party of five or more while we had four adults and three children and there's a sign on their door that says children eat free. The macaroni and cheese was $29. I can't even wrap my head $29 for macaroni and cheese is even acceptable. I don't recommend this restaurant and I really feel sorry for them, but will stick with Fugazzis they have the best filet and you can get a meal for two for 100.00 and it's got free appetizer. dessert and your potato is cut in half with presentation. My dinner was going to be 70. for a very bloody tough piece of meat . Fooled me once, shame on you but no shame on me cuz I ain't going back!

Lulu C.

Yelp
Great food and amazing service no matter how many times I go here it is always 100% spot on, my number one go to spot in Visalia. Eat upstairs. Have the calamari appetizer. The staff will treat you like royalty.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! Very happy with the service and attention from our server . The entertainment provided by the owner a talented musician The beignets for dessert a must

Chelly O.

Yelp
Our bartender was Shyla was AMAZING! She was very cheerful and friendly. She mixes drinks well and was quick to offer suggestions and even doctored them to our taste. Thank for an outstanding employee!

Stephanie T.

Yelp
atmosphere is great food was ok, and very expensive! went for a friends birthday, so it was a big group, my husband and I ordered an appetizer , drinks and we shared a mea. the split our plate without asking us and then up charged us. She told us it was only gonna be five dollars. She had already split the plate so you know what can I say to that because she said we got our own sides which I didn't want, it would've been more appropriate to ask before doing that; but when I got the bill, it was an extra $10. then someone from the band who by the way was really good very entertaining had everyone out dancing they did start to come around with a tip jar to ask for more money if you're coming to this restaurant you'll have to spend a lot of money and with the charges, they don't tell you about it until you get the bill

Yelp
Crawdaddys is simply amazing. I ordered the 3 crab cake plate. 3 crab cakes , rice, veggies. Service was top notch. Atmosphere is very nice. Tables on first floor or second floor. Visiting the area and Crawdaddy's was recommended. I highly recommend to anyone who asks.

Jeff B.

Yelp
Love the live music and ambiance. Food is good Cajun based menu. Area to dance and have a good time

Steve B.

Yelp
Easter brunch - our friends had Eggs Benedict it was excellent. I personally had the Chili Verde Omelette. Very small light Omelette. No more than 3 small teaspoons of pork verde in the omelette. . A total waste of money. We also ordered desert. Note: No prices on the desert menu. We ordered the delicious rich Carrot Cake. To our surprise, one slice was $15 Dollars. Hello....no wonder, no prices on the desert menu. Question is, would we go back again. Most likely not !

Yelp
Oh good God I will never walk into your restaurant again after seeing that video on Facebook. I can't even believe that your kitchen looks like a war zone with trash all over it and cook food sitting. I can't even believe a restaurant owner would let a video like that go around Facebook.

Yelp
It's definitely a happening place on Saint Patrick's day. Has a cool atmosphere for sure. The drinks here are weak. That may be putting it nicely. I drank two jack and cokes and felt like I drank water. It is cool how refills were cheaper than original, but will never order a mixed drink here again as everyone in the party felt they hardly had any booze. They definitely don't measure what they poor. My bride got a blue moon and was flat. We gave up drinking here and moved on for the evening's drinking festivities. The food here was tasty. We had crab cakes and the filet. Filet was cooked well. I think this is a great spot for dining but would skip it if your in the mood for an adult beverage.

Cam A.

Yelp
Came in today for some lunch and football. Our bartender, Shyla, was amazing!! Service and food was on point. Good vibes, good drinks, good food. Shyla is so friendly and attentive! Can't wait to come back

Jacquie N.

Yelp
A group of friends and I went to have drinks and some food. I ordered an appetizer and was told that I had to order an entire or I'd be charged $10. So I ordered an entree even though I really wanted 3 of the appetizers to share with the table. Long story short, out bill was almost $600. We clearly spent enough to be able to order what we want. Very dissapointing.

Yelp
Happy we did not go by a lot of the reviews we saw and went ahead and tried the restaurant very happy we did. a little surprise that the gumbo had no okra I've never actually heard of a gumbo with no okra but that's OK it still had good flavor and I was also surprised I didn't really see crawdads on too many other Dishes so that's why I ordered the seafood gumbo cause it had some crawdads in it but all in all I was with flavorful. I was with group of eight that we meet once a month and go to different restaurants and we all agreed we'll be back. There's different things we'd like to try on the menu OK again got the thumbs up with us Also, the service was great! Lucky for us they were not busy

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place because the original restaurant I was planning on eating at was closed (even though they said they were open on yelp). Being that I needed to get something quick before work, this was the next nearest place that was open. When you walk in you automatically see the large bar with high top seating. To the left is the hostess table where you wait to get seated. They have music lightly playing in the background. I was seated quickly. Recieved the menu, my water and the food quickly, which is appreciated, as I was rushing to goto work. The waitress I had was hustling quickly trying to get to everyone. She did a really good job. They have an upstairs area that I would be eager to explore in the future. Yes menu prices here is expensive. Certain main entrees going for north of $40. Yea prices are expensive, but at least you know how much it is before you order, so complaining about the price, especially when the food is good, makes no sense. I ordered their blackened catfish. It was good. 2 large filets. Good amount of rice and some vegetables. They give you a good amount of sauce to drizzle the catfish in. Really adds to the flavor. It's moist and tender. Has a slightly charred/bitter taste, but overall it was good. My biggest problem here are the locals who act all foolish after over drinking. Or maybe they didn't drink that much and they are just obnoxious jerks in real life. I don't know. But either way they were loud, they were brash, they were annoying, and they acted like j*ck*sses. If you want to act like that at home that's your business, but in a public place.... I don't care how much of a local you are, acting like a drunk fool is repulsive to people just trying to enjoy a meal in a nice atmosphere. And pounding on the table, yelling and laughing obnoxiously, and being drunkenly loud, does not make for a nice atmosphere. They really made the place feel and sound trashy dive bar...
