My wife and I have been here twice now. We do like the food, but we feel like we are ordering wrong, and the wait staff seems pretty new and not knowledgeable of the menu, which is mostly why they get a ding for service.
Last time we got one of signature sauces, which is a combination of two of their sauces, and it was really too much butter, so this time we ordered two different boils without the combination of different sauces, and it was still a bit too much butter.
One of our boils we ordered as spice level 'spicy' and the other we ordered as 'extra spicy'. Both were very disappointingly mild. The flavors were good, but the spice level was not there in the least. I suspect we ordered wrong though, and I don't think our server was familiar enough with the sauces to help guide us to what would have been our ideal crawfish experience, and I say this because the food is genuinely very good – good ingredients, good overall product, we just needed some spice!
While we were there we also got Chargrilled Oysters and the garlic noodles. Both were excellent. My wife and I agree that we would rather have those garlic noodles as a side with all of our future crawfish boils instead of the typical potato as carb in the boil.
Overall, it is a good restaurant and I recognize they are staffing up for the beginning of crawfish season, which would likely explain our issue, however, we had similar difficulties navigating the menu when we came last year later in the crawfish season... Main feedback is to make sure your staff is very knowledgeable of the sauces, their spice level, and general recommendations to help clients find their ideal boil.
