If you’re debating whether to come here or not, go!! Our whole experience here was so pleasant from the service to the food itself , we were impressed at our ability to polish of a 3 person platter and a 1 person platter. The snow crab was so fresh and sweet that it didn’t even need butter. Everything was phenomenal This place healed me 10\10 will come here every time I’m in Atlanta ! Looking forward to next time🥲

Google
Not a lot of seating. The service was great, but the food was mediocre. Note there is no public restroom. We won't be returning.

Google
If you’re debating if you should go here, RUN DONT WALK. Their food is exceptional, get the the low country boil Cajun style. You won’t be disappointed! If you want the ultimate experience, get the Cajun boil and a fried platter for one. 10/10 food and will absolutely be back

The worest customer service I ever seen. It used to be a good place but not anymore. First time, I thought probably they have a bad day, but it seems like being nasty becomes their norm. I will never go, neither I recommend anyone to go this place because there are plenty out there who treat their customers with dignity and good food.

I’ve never eaten here before, and when I saw it on GrubHub I wanted to give it a try. I ordered the Whole Andouille Sausage Po’ Boy with a side of Mac & Cheese Poppers (substitute for an additional charge) and a 20oz Coke. Order arrived before original ETA, complete and packaged well for delivery. The sausage was cooked perfectly, the roll was toasted very well, with a slight crisp on the outside, yet fresh and chewy on the inside. Lettuce, tomato and pickle topped it off well. Very tasty sandwich indeed. I’ve actually never eaten Mac & Cheese Poppers before. Didn’t realize what I was missing. These poppers (5 of them), were fantastic. Overall I was really impressed with everything. I normally don’t read the restaurant reviews until I’ve tried the food so I can be unbiased going in, and I was quite happy with my experience. That was delicious and I’d have no qualms about ordering it again.

As someone who grew up on the coast, this satisfied every low country boil craving I could have. If you’re hesitating, don’t. 4 of us split the 3 person boil platter and 1 person fried platter - immaculate experience

Google
My fried shrimp was delicious. Cajun corn is seriously hot. The fried crawfish had more breading than I'm used to at other places and was overly fried. Cajun corn was too spicy for me to even try to eat. Be prepared that the fried pickles are spears. I like innovation but it didn't work well here - they lost the pickle flavor. I actually thought they were fried green beans instead. {See photo} I think my mistake was in ordering fried food instead of boiled, and getting take out instead of dining in. Seems like a fun place to come with family. Last comment - noticed after I ordered that their sanitation grade is an 81. I'm not sure why but I find that worrisome, especially with seafood. I still ate my meal and didn't get sick.

Google
Food was wonderful and the cashier/server was very helpful. The only reason it isn't 5 stars across the board is the limited seating but it seems like most of their business is to-go. We'll be back when we're in the area!

Greg K.

Yelp
Very small restaurant and seafood shop. Very limited seating. Counter service looks like mostly to go orders. Everything is fresh and cooked to order. You have to wait a bit. The hey cook it to order so call ahead if you don't want to wait. Definitely not cheap, but fresh seafood will cost you and this is fresh. Shrimp was good. I will come back and try something else.

Dee Dee H.

Yelp
I've been going to this place for almost 11 yrs. I love the food. The service is good

Cali G.

Yelp
I had 2 pounds of crawfish sat down inside the restaurant ate them all. This was delicious.

Jill M.

Yelp
We haven't been to the Crawfish Shack in a while and generally we order out. When my husband got home with our food, he said the size of the restaurant had shrunk. He also said the owner said business was a bit slow. It made me sad because it is our go to for spicy crawfish. The crawfish is fresh and super spicy (plumps your lips!), the soft shell crabs are lightly dusted and fried with a delicious spice and are served with a spicy (think plumped lips!) remoulade sauce. We generally get corn and potatoes that are cooked in the same spices as the crawfish. Occasionally we get the coleslaw which is a bit sweeter than I generally like, but is a good foil for the spicy food.

Sandy W.

Yelp
This was our first time coming to this restaurant and we thought it was just okay. It's very small restaurant and the food was average. The floors were also super sticky so it made me feel uncomfortable but the tables were clean. There's both inside and outdoor seating but inside was just larger tables. A lot of people ordered for takeout.

Barry C.

Yelp
The food is delicious and fresh. Repeat customer. It is definitely in the top echelon of ATL restaurants for food quality.

Yelp
This once clever and popular seafood eatery is no more. They recently completed a makeover and I was ready to chow down when I arrived. To my shock and disbelief, the restaurant was less than 1/2 the size it was before. I didn't recognize anyone from my previous visits in fact it turns out that hands have changed. There were two long tables not 12 and no table cloths with rickety metal chairs. The area around the cash register seemed like it was hastily rigged with bare plywood, nails sticking out and flimsy plastic around the machine for protection . I asked why they had down sized so much and the owner/manager said that they lost a lot of business since the CDC had basically shut down. They all work from home now. I was saddened but something was off. There was a machine stocked with an assortment of well chilled soft drinks and water and their display of fresh fish on ice was there as well. The chalk board had many new items advertised and so I placed my order to go. However, that is where the similarities to the former ended. There was a redo of the menu as I expected and prices have gone up yet again. The first up grade to the prices came a little over a year ago and as I eat raw oysters, it was very noticeably much higher priced. The old standard Shacktastic items were there but I was alone and didn't want a huge meal sitting at one of the two tables. I ordered something new on the menu because the picture was glorious. It was a platter of beautifully fried fresh calamari which looked as good as I have ever seen anywhere. So I ordered that, a side of 6 hushpuppies and a soda from the machine. I got my brown bag to go and noticed it was all under a single dinner sized Styrofoam box. I quickly drove home and to my surprise, the hushpuppies were the size of walnuts . They tasted good but they weren't the same as before. The french fries were ordered cajun style which meant they had a dusting of spice on the top. They had been frozen, I could tell as they were crinkle cut and dry on the inside. Now to the worst part of my visit. The beautiful plate of calamari turned into the smallest prebreaded and frozen tiny bites ever.( I think that is either bait and switch or false advertising.) I paid $20.00 for my meal and threw most of it away. If you want to return or try it for the first time, ask if the seafood is fresh. The catfish, Swai and tilapia are on ice as are the shrimp but not the calamari. In my opinion, the current management has no clue as to why their business is off unless he was justifying his slowly sinking ship. No pictures!!!

Yelp
This little hidden gem was a great find. My group wanted fried seafood, but zI wanted steam. We had the best of both worlds. I may have been a little greedy. But I had the Shack bucket for 2 all by myself. I don't think it was enough to share with 2 people. 2 crab clusters, some crawfish, steamed shrimp and mussels, some sausage and corn. It was a good lunchtime snack!

Bridget B.

Yelp
This is one of the worst Poboys that I have ever had in my life. I had the crawfish, Poboy, and all you had was breading. You could see absolutely no meat with every bite. I don't normally review, but this was just that bad Experience. I paid $22 for half of a crawfish sandwich and fries. Ridiculous.

Blake W.

Yelp
I have eaten at Crawfish Shack several times and I have only gotten one thing...the Shrimp Poboy!!! It's why I go there. As a native of New Orleans, I think I know a good shrimp poboy, The one at the Crawfish Shack is the real deal. Located in a strip center off Buford Highway, you would not even know it were there if you were not looking for it. The place is super casual where you order your food at the counter and they bring it to your table. I've only been for lunch and it's never been a long line, but even if it were I would wait. Be prepared, as all food is made to order so it can take a little bit. That's okay by me. I'll wait a little longer for fresh food any day. They use French bread from a New Orleans bakery so it is authentic. Flakey on the outside and nice and light on the inside. I'd say the price is a little more than one would expect, but you are paying for quality. The crinkle fries are also really good and also fresh to order. I highly recommend Crawfish Shack for a great shrimp poboy. As to those mixed boils of spiced seafood, I can't speak to that. I do not care for that style so much anyway so I'll not get it there. I'm sure it's fresh though.

E.l. J.

Yelp
One of my favorite seafood places!!! I usually get the crawfish! It's a mixture of big and small, which is perfect. I've also gotten the fried shrimp and corn. I visit almost weekly and never disappointed.

Keisha G.

Yelp
This was my first time here. My coworker comes here all the time and recommended it. She said she loves it because it taste like New Orleans. We went for lunch and it was nice that there wasn't a line or it wasn't busy. But there were a lot of people doing pick up orders. When you go inside it has a great calm vibe. It's great that it's a local place. It doesn't smell like old fish like some places do and they have music on. The tables and counters were clean. The gentleman that assisted us was very pleasant. There was even a customer that came in when we were there and apparently she comes in from ATHENS all the time! As far as the food, it was seasoned and cooked really well. The tartar sauce was good as well. I will definitely come back.

Tanni D.

Yelp
Bomb-a** crawfish! This place consistently delivers quality seafood. My favorite is the Shack-tastic Platter for two, which consists of Cajun boiled or steamed snow crab, blue crab, crawfish, mussels, shrimp, corn, andouille sausage, and red potatoes. I often get the Cajun seasoning, and it adds just the right amount of heat. My only complaint is that the restaurant's floor is always super sticky but otherwise, I love this hidden gem.

Jack M.

Yelp
Came here for the boudin that was named a top Atlanta dish by a local paper. Unfortunately that dish is no longer available. The counter people did not even act like it ever existed. We ended up ordering the crawfish po'boy. There just wasn't anything special about this hoagie/sub. It's fried crawfish on a sub roll with lettuce, tomato, and some sauce. The bread dominated the flavor profile. It could use a smaller, softer bread. Something like what would be used with a lobster roll would work well. The toppings (lettuce/tomato) tasted just like they would at Subway or another chain. The crawfish was tasty in the way that a tater tot is. The fried breading flavor dominates the flavor. There wasn't anything to differentiate the flavor from shrimp. And when crustacean flavors did fight their way on the palate, they tasted like pool water, a crucial sign of low quality fresh water seafood. At the high price point for this sub, I find it unimpressive.

Brian T.

Yelp
Top rated seafood shack in Atlanta. You just can't make a list of the best seafood in Buford without this Atlanta staple. You can actually smell the seafood spices and seasonings as soon as you walk in Seafood is made fresh to order, and the owner really understands flavor. I grew up on fish fry's and the fried catfish reminded me of another time. Even my ex wife would like it here and she claims she's "never been satisfied" I mean, I'm not sure about that, she was definitely satisfied enough to get married.. so I don't know about "never" but I digress! Come here hungry, leave here happy. Exceptional dynamic flavors continue to blow me away at this seafood restaurant. Cheap prices but high quality seafood because this owner goes straight to the source for all his seafood. As far as atmosphere, You can smell the history of the location when you walk in. Amazing service with all friendly staff and more times than not you'll actually be talking to the owner. I would enjoy being at this location even if my ex wife was standing next to me

Yelp
I like!!! Decided to stop by for a quick lunch, and the Crawfish Shack did not disappoint us at all. It was my first visit.... business was slow for at Saturday so we got in and out in a breeze, masks are required inside, so we order and seated ourselves outside. I order the shrimp platter, came with 2 sides and 10 piece shrimp, I ordered mine fried... it also came with hushpuppies. The food was good! Hot & fresh, but the beverage came separate. I would recommend this place if you are looking for fresh seafood.

Shawnna H.

Yelp
I was craving some crawfish and being from the Texas/Louisiana region was reluctant that I would find good flavored ones In Atlanta. I'm glad my fellow Yelpers reviews lead my husband and I here as it did not disappoint! I had 2 lbs of crawfish with red potatoes and corn and my husband had a fried catfish platter with fries. All was seasoned and cooked just right.

Esther K.

Yelp
Place has gone downhill. Overly priced and not enough seasoning. They don't give a lot for their pricepoint. Also, they still use put their ice in a cooler for customers to use in their drinks. Please get an ice machine for customers for sanitary reasons. Also, they could use a good cleaning on their tables, benches, and especially their floor... It does not feel very clean inside. They are not busy anymore like they used to be as there are more better options around town. Their fried fish is still good but any sides you get with it is pretty small in quantity. Also, the sandwiches do not come with a lot of protein. The corn is still flavorful as well but that's about it. The employees that work here (at the counter and being the ordered food to the table are friendly and helpful.

Eric B.

Yelp
Super fresh seafood, truly cooked to order. Everything I've ever eaten here was delicious. I'd eat here weekly if I could.

Yelp
You can find Crawfish Shack Seafood at 4337 Buford Hwy Ste 170, Atlanta, GA 30341in a small shopping center on the east side of Buford Highway. Parking is in a small lot out front - typically there's plenty in the evenings but during lunch it may get a bit full. Crawfish Shack Seafood is one of a very popular trend in Vietnamese-Creole cuisine that makes tons of sense when you think about how these flavors compliment each other. This is some tasty spicy food that will get your mouth tingling and other parts heated up. I love, love this style of seafood goodness, which is clearly defined by the seafood boils but widened out a bit with fried items, fresh raw eats (oysters), creamy slaw and steamed/boiled veggies (broccoli and potatoes). On this latest occasion I met up with my regular Buford Highway Restaurant Crawl group and quite a few people showed - seems they all wanted to try Crawfish Shack for the first time to again. We even had an appearance of our vegan member and she managed to have quite a bit to eat. Come here with the thought of having your arms elbow deep in steamed goodness and you'll do fine - don't wear anything nice as opening up some of these will get you covered is spatter. I particularly like the extra spicy everything boiled Shack-tastic Seafood platter (Cajun boiled snow crab, blue crab, crawfish, mussels, shrimp, corn, Andouille sausage and red potatoes) or the mixed Fried-Tastic Seafood platter (fried crawfish, shrimp, soft-shell crab fish (choice of catfish, lilapia, swai, red snapper or grouper) with fries and hush puppies. These are priced per person but you get a little break the more people you add. This last time I also splurged with a cup of gumbo and it was surprisingly good - next time I'm ordering a bowl. In all this was a great experience with plenty to gnaw on and great times had by all. I liked everything I tried and would recommend this place for someone new to this style of cooking. Service was quite good even with our large party - the people here are efficient and good about answering questions about the food (and what's vegan/non if that's a concern). (also posted to my food blog)

Yelp
Consistency is key and they've tasted the same as when they first opened. Prices have gone up due to inflation I suppose but the quality has remained the same. I go get my jumbo shrimp plate and eat it for 2 days. I was there when the doors 1st opened and will continue to be there as they stay consistent. Great seafood spot for ATL and not too far from the city.

E W.

Yelp
This place has went down. The crawfish use to be $8.00 per pound. It is now $16 a pound. I've never seen the price of crawfish over $10 a pound. I went ahead and got 2lbs of crawfish, a side of potatoes and fried okra for $50!!! The crawfish tasted frozen. They were horrible and not worth the price

Sujoy S.

Yelp
This is a pretty good place for seafood. We had ordered the fried catfish po'boy combo and the meal option 1 with fried catfish, hush puppies and potato salad; and both were pretty delicious. We had originally ordered to pickup but when we saw the eatery to be pretty empty we decided to unpack and dine in. The host was kind enough to come to our table and ask if we needed anything else. If you're craving for some fried seafood then you should definitely try this place. And did I mention the price? It's delightfully reasonable! Just a small request to the owners; being so good at what you offer, would be great if we get grilled and sautéed items as well!

Alisha C.

Yelp
First let me say, I fell for the oki-doke. As a New Orleanian, I know better than to take food and restaurant suggestions from people that are NOT native New Orleanians. So let me break this down. This place is deceiving. You walk in and it smells like home. The chalk/menu board boast Now Serving LEIDENHEIMER bread. We ordered 2 Small Shrimp Poboys and a Kids Shrimp plate with fries. We waited and waited and waited. 30 mins for a take out order. We finally got our order. A 4 inch po boy in a styrafoam takeout box. First red flag, it should be wrapped in white paper. The butt end of the French bread loaf, and 4 butterflied COLD fried shrimp with the veins in tact. This pathetic sandwich had more lettuce than shrimp and one slice of Roma tomato. The kids meal, 5 lonely shrimp flying around in the emptiness of this Styrofoam box with lifeless crinkle cut Ore-Ida French fries, no salt. $22 later. I could've had a McDonald's Happy Meal and been more satisfied. On top of that the restaurant needed a good clean mop. Everyone that came in was caught off guard by how sticky the concrete floor was. The seating is picnic table, family style. I finally looked to take a seat during my 30-min wait and almost set in a dirty sticky substance on a chair. I brought family in with me who were visiting from out of town. They were so excited to find a po boy place. Better luck at Pappadeauxs. This place is a dumpster fire.

Angela C.

Yelp
Delicious seafood boil that comes in big bowls. It has crab, king crab legs, shrimp, crawfish, corn, potato, sausage, and mussels. It get very good and messy. They all tasted fresh. The only negative things here is that things tend to run out. The lobster roll ran out this night. But on the other hand, that is why everything is fresh.,

Patrick D.

Yelp
Came in for the second of 3rd time. Very solid shrimp poboy!!! Kind of hidden away but worth the trip

Kousee L.

Yelp
Say it with me "LIVE CRAWFISH!!" BEST spot for crawfish hands down. They have delicious Poboy's the bread really makes all the differences, it's super flaky and the outside is crispy and crunchy. i never was really a "sandwhich" person but i will crave these Poboys. ::EXPERIENCE//SERVICE:: This fast casual spot will make you feel like you're somewhere like a fish market walking in, then turn the corner to the picnic style tables and surrounded by NOLA decorations to enjoy your meal. The drinks are self served and you pay before you get your food. One thing i didnt really like was that there was NOT an option to tip the staff, i dont have cash on me 99% of the time :( There's this ONE small Asian girl working there, when shes working, she is a rockstar. She asks you "hows the food, Did you need anything else?, is there anything she could do for you" KNOWING she didnt get tipped on CC orders. that's some above and beyond service!!! i try to keep a $20 on me for when i see her next time. :: FOOOOD (What i always Order):: -- ***CRAWFISH by the LB *** : this ruined crawfish at all the other seafood spots for me, seriously, i think i discovered this place maybe.. 2 months ago? now i go back 2x a week!! After eating this delicious crawfish you will never like the (FROZEN-rubber tasting) stuff the other guys are using. KEEP IT UP!! the seasoning is SOOO GOOD!! NO Oil, butter, and non-sense in the seasoning, just good old fashioned REAL Low Country Boil. Oh, but keep in mind, it's SPICY! just how i like it! -- SHRIMP/Soft Shell Crab Po Boy : you can either do a half or whole sub, combo or by itself.. i tend to get a half of these subs when i go, along with the crawfish it's sooo irresistible. Comes with lettuce, tomato, their orangey tangy sauce.. SO GOOD!! -- BLUE CRAB w/ the NEW Viet. Sauce :: i was lucky enough to get this item twice since i found this place, VERY HIGH quality crab, the female crabs are overflowing with eggs inside and the meat *chefs kiss* so sweet, flaky, and usually not over cooked.. the only bummer is that it's NEVER available since those 2 times i got it.. please keep this stocked!! the Viet sauce is sweet and tangy, kinda reminds me of a mix between "Red Crawfish Duluth,GA and HOT n Juicy LA, CA!!" Overall, i just absolutely adore this spot and i pray that they will always have live crawfish forever .. FRESH CRAWFISH FOR THE WINN!!!!

Edward W.

Yelp
We sometimes forget how good the food is at the Crawfish Shack. Crawfish was on the want list last weekend. Called in pick up order at Chamblee location for 7 lbs they were ready on time and perfectly seasoned. Enjoyed greatly by all. Today late lunch at Norcross location. Picture says it all, it was delicious and service very good.

Jaime A. G.

Yelp
I have mix reviews maybe 2.5 out of 5 stars. PROS: I was feeling "fried" so I went with the fried catfish crispy fried AND 10pc fried shrimp with cajun fries and potatoe salad. Everything was made to order hot and fresh. The food was really good, just need a bit more seasoning. CONS: sticky floors, the ice was in a picnic cooler with a hand scoop. When I opened the lid, the scoop handle was touching the ice. I was like eeew but took a chance anyway. Then I saw other customers donthe same. This can't possible be sanitary for unwashed hands touching the ice and unwashed scoop handle. This prompted me to look for health dept score- they were not visible. The ketchup was so watered that it ruined the fries. No hot sauce on table but you selling fried catfish.

Patrick M.

Yelp
Never again! Ordered a 1/2 a Andouille Sausage sandwich. First was told it was "six"inches. (More like three) Just a couple of small slices of sausage and almost $9.00. Second. I was told it would take ten to eleven minutes... well... it too tangy and there were only two people in the shop. Nice rip off guys. Thanks. I will never be back. And I'll tell all my friends too!

Edward W.

Yelp
Order at the front and then grab a seat. They bring the food out to you, but it took some time for it to come out. However, when it did come out it was real fresh. One great thing about this place is that the shrimp was deveined! Tastes much better and made it way easier to peal as well. The crawfish was difficult to peal, but tasted decent. A lot of work for a small tail. Break the body off the head, twist off the tail, and pull the meat out from the end. Comes with cocktail sauce and two spicy pepper sauces. Ground is so sticky here! My girlfriend kept her feet in one location the entire time and it was so sticky that her feet came out of her shoes. Not much service here. Once they give you the food, you're off on your own. Water is self serve as well.

Daniella C.

Yelp
We got the seafood boil it was really good but not a big fan of crawfish. Next time I'll have it without crawfish

Tiff H.

Yelp
Whoa, it's definitely been a while since I've dropped in at the Crawfish Shack. Since I first visited during my pre-Yelp days, the restaurant business seems to have boomed, if the number of Yelp reviews is any indication. Seafood is a rare commodity in a landlocked city like Atlanta. Even with the various seafood restaurants around the metro Atlanta area, one must be wary whether the seafood is actually fresh. Crawfish Shack has plenty of different seafood options, mostly fried but also non-fried. There are many combo options and sides to choose from. I almost ordered the Lobster Roll, but the MP (market price) next to the name scared me a little. I tried to order the Oyster Poboy, my go-to seafood choice, but was disappointed when they said it was out. I finally ended up with the Crawfish Poboy, because why? Because Crawfish Shack! I also splurged in some hushpuppies, because I'm already going all out with fried foods, nothing can stop me now... The half sandwich was pretty tasty. I almost felt like it would have been easier to just eat the pieces of fried crawfish separately than in a sandwich. The hush puppies were DELISH. Hot and greasy, they were perfection - although I really only needed one. After one, they got TOO greasy for me to handle. Overall, yes, it's a little pricey (but hey, it's seafood in a landlocked Atlanta) but it's probably one of the better seafood joints inside the Perimeter, without the fancy pretense of many downtown restaurants. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty!

Fred D.

Yelp
The food was vey tasty and the pick up service was fast. The crispy fish dinner with shrimp is my go to dish here. Good for Lenten Fridays.

Patricia N.

Yelp
The takeout fried shrimp is Perfect! Light batter and perfectly fried. Hate the sand vein being left in and they had cleaned my order perfectly. Will go again and again.

Charli A.

Yelp
This place is good but overpriced. I have had better seafood for cheaper. The beignets are basically croissants with powdered sugar on them. I went during a late lunch and it wasn't that busy. We waited about 10 minutes for our food. They don't have a drink machine though which I thought was weird. They have ice in a cooler sitting on a table. All in all I probably won't come back due to them being overpriced

Lou E.

Yelp
Well, this is an update from a review a few years ago. It is back to what we remember when they first opened. We have been about six times this year and each visit very good. We have learned to get the paper towels ready for the fried shrimp and catfish. We move them off the plate and the paper towels soak up any unwanted grease. Perfect solution to any fried food. We always get either the 15 medium shrimp and an extra two pieces of crispy fried catfish. When we go with others we order the fried seafood by the pound. Always get the coleslaw and potato salad. The fried shrimp and catfish are always cooked perfectly. The potato salad is some of the best in the city. Rating of 4 versus 5 because we they are so very, very slow. Cooked to order means cooked to order. Highly recommend. Will return.

Alondra A.

Yelp
I had to update my review because the portion are so small now. Sauce is different too. For the same price too. It's ridiculous. Definitely not going back

Britany B.

Yelp
DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!! It's 5p on a Saturday! Staff is rude, I had to ASK for my order, after CALLING IT IN (waited an additional 15 min) for food barely hot. I ordered a poboy, that was super dry, IT DOES NOT COME DRESSED and crawfish tails. Get to my car, check my food. Half of my order is wrong after waiting 20 ADDITIONAL minutes, I'm glad I didn't drive home and immediately asked for a refund. I will never come back here again, and please let your floors dry all the way before opening so your customers are not complaining about "squeaking" noises while they are simply walking in your establishment. HIRE NEW STAFF!!! Nothing but young children, no professionalism. Tables full of food left on the table, during post pandemic!? Don't sit, don't eat.

Addy C.

Yelp
Fried grouper, 4 jumbo shrimp, & 2 sides for $6.75?!! Yep, and it's also FRESH seafood, cooked-to-order, and super delicious! Check out the menu in the photos - I was so excited when I saw the prices, and that combined with all the great Yelp reviews already written - I couldn't wait to try the food! As other reviewers mentioned, keep in mind there are only 3 tables since they do mostly take-out business. Lucky for us, we got a table and with that, highly personable service. My friend was interested in the owner's story: the family-owned restaurant is run by a Vietnamese-American who was born & raised in Georgia, and learned Cajun cooking from his friends in Baton Rouge. Apparently he learned very well :) Their food is very good, and I didn't even try their Cajun crawfish which is their specialty. I love that folks are saying the food is as good as (or better than, too) New Orleans, Maryland, Charleston, etc. - and I second that :) The restaurant started 8 months ago, and they've already been doing a lot of catering for some big businesses in the area. Some chefs have come to visit, too. Word-of-mouth is really working! For today's lunch, I got Meal #3 which included lightly fried grouper, 4 jumbo fried shrimp (deveined, too - yay), 2 hushpuppies, & 1/2 cob of Cajun sweet/spicy corn. We liked the hushpuppies so much we got another side order of 6 hushpuppies for $1. I loved everything on my plate, but esp. my grouper. My friend got Meal #2 which had 10 jumbo shrimp & 2 sides (she got the hushpuppies & corn, too) for $6.50 - she enjoyed her lunch very much, too. I'll definitely be back to try the other seafood (crawfish, blue crab, fried oysters, etc.) I love my Buford Hwy :) FYI - this place is easy to miss b/c the strip mall is located almost perpendicular to Buford Hwy. It's easy to see the storefront when you're going south on Buford Hwy, but not so much when you're headed north.

Yelp
Ordered via Uber eats and got the shacktastic platter for one. It was good and the perfect amount of food for me, and I have a fairly decent appetite. I used to live in New Orleans so I know what traditional seafood boils should taste like, and this is it. This isn't the place you get seafood smothered in oily garlicky Asian-Cajun fusion sauce, which is good too, but this is like traditional spicy salty boil goodness. All the seafood seemed very fresh and good. While the crawfish was probably frozen, they did a good job cooking it so it tasted like live boiled crawfish. Mussels were good and large, snow crab was fine as were the shrimp. I do wish they had included some lemon wedges but it was still a good meal that reminded me of my time living in New Orleans.

Yelp
Today is Good Friday- I couldn't eat meat. I was on my way home from dtown and I decided to take BuHi home because I knew traffic would suck any other way! My brain had an idea, "hit up the Crawfish Shack!" I got there around 4:55pm, and I was sort of suprised at how crowded it was (hell, it was more crowded than the night we had the UYE, which was also on a Friday- but later in the EVE). Thank goodness the fan was on, because the people in front me were taking forever (you would think they ordered one of everything, cancelled their order, then ordered whothehellknowswhat)- mind you it was only 4-5 people. I was starving, all I wanted was a Lobster Roll (steamed) and a coke. The total was $21 n change, $25 after tip... Well, around 5:35, I finally got my sandwich... For a $20 lobster roll, ughhh ehhhhh ahhhh grrrrr is all I had to say. I literally inhaled it. In fact since I waited so long for it I had to put it down to take a breath- just to try to savor it. The bread and the garlic butter it was soaked in made it taste great, but for how long it took, I was disappointed that I bit into something hard (f it, I swallowed it, whatever it was- so if I drop in my sleep tonight, please refer to this review). Yea, the sign says it's worth the wait and such, but still, 45 minutes for one sandwich? Next time I'm just gonna catch the damn lobster myself and make me one hell of a lobster roll- at least if I am gonna shell out that much for a kid's size!

Yelp
I very much enjoyed my meal here. I had heard about the place, and finally had the occasion to visit. Once for lunch, and then again soon thereafter for dinner. Overall, I am really pleased with the experience. For lunch, I had a shrimp po-boy. It was freshly made and tasty. My only "complaint" is simple: It seems like the plate should have had more food on it for the price point. Otherwise, it was good. The second time, we went and had a steamed seafood platter for two. I have to give these guys some serious credit here. Because we inadvertently showed up with fifteen minutes to go before closing. And they still cheerfully served us. (Even if they gave us a spicy platter when we asked for no-spicy stuff at all.). The seafood was fresh, and it was freshly prepared. And for the first time in my life, I ate a big pile o' crawfish. I had never actually eaten a big file of crawfish before. But it was delicious. And I would happily do it again. Holler if you're coming with.

Yelp
I've been here several time since my initial review, but until today it had been a while. I doubt I'll ever be back. The cashier was playing a game on her phone with her back turned. I mean c'mon if you're gonna don't that at least look out for customers BUT you really shouldn't be doing that as the cleanliness of the place looks questionable. I'm waiting for my food listening to a soundtrack of music riddled with "fuck" "shit" "bitch" & "nigga" in no particular order. I don't expect elevator music or Mozart, but damn. Do better.

Yelp
Been here several times and usually very good. Today, went by about 1 PM. Ordered fried shrimp, took 20 minutes to get my lunch. Food wasn't hot, just lukewarm. Shrimp had little taste, gotten better at Cap'n D's. No iced tea, just bottled soft drinks. They say the tea dispensers are for the weekend. Total bill, with tax, came to over $17.00 I won't be back.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend and I must say I was very pleased with my food. I will be back. The atmosphere is kind of a family friendly one. It's too big to be called a "hole in the wall" but it's not fancy. It's the type of spot you would go to if you are out and looking for something good that's not fast food. I had the fried jumbo shrimp with Cajun corn on the cob and sweet potato waffle fries. Now I must say I was not impressed with the sweet potato waffle fries- especially considering there's an up-charge for them. I tried some of my friends crawfish that were very good! I would recommend this place to others.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here 2 days in a row. We're thinking of making this "our spot". It's 10 minutes from our house. The food is amazing! Their catfish is fried to perfection. The soft shell crab po'boy is delish! They also have macaroni and cheese bites to die for. My concubine got crawfish & he loved it. I'm not much of a crawfish eater, but we'll definitely be here once a week.

Yelp
This was my first visit here so prior to coming I read the reviews. They were mixed between poor service and cold food and poor taste (lack of seasoning) nonetheless I took a chance Hoping the not so good reviews were just off days. After my personal experience I will NEVER come here again. I was duped. This is like the Taco Bell of crab boils. I've tried quite a few different New Orleans themed spots around the Metro area and they were all phenomenal (Juicy crawfish- Norcross/ Juicy crab- Duluth/ The crab spot- Johns Creek) so I'm thinking how could u mess up a crab boil??? ‍ The south is going through a New Orleans renaissance right now with all the new crab boil restaurants popping up in the last couple yrs and they have been on a roll. This place found a way to destroy a crab boil for the same prices as the more popular places. I ordered the "boiled special". Because the only two options were either boiled special or fried special both start at $28 each. So I picked boiled which should come with crawfish, snow crab, shrimp , mussels, clam, corn and red potatoes. She explained we are out of musssels you can pick one of the other items to substitute (anything except the crab). I asked for extra red potatoes and subbed out the clam for more shrimp. My kids had 2 shrimp kids meals (kids meal includes 5 butterfly shrimp with fries $6 each) and side order of mac n cheese poppers $3.50. It took almost 45 mins for her to bring my food out. The boil was NOT SEASONED PROPERLY AND WAS SITTING IN A POOL OF WHAT TASTED LIKE WATERY HOT SAUCE. The shrimp were not cleaned properly and full of green bile. They slit the backs of the shell but made no effort to remove the digestive tract. I called the waiter back immediately. Telling her This food doesn't taste like anything. She says "mild" is just steamed, we don't season it. So essentially It should be described as seasoned or UNSEASONED not HOT OR MILD. And it was still spicy bc of the hot sauce they pour in the bottom of the bowl. She said there's some red season on the table u can use to add your own flavor. (Shown in the picture- cayenne pepper sauce, Louisiana hot sauce, and old bay) I was appalled that she thought that is what makes the flavor better. Where's the lemon garlic butter base?!? She gave me a small container of cocktail sauce for the poop filled shrimp. The crawfish tasted overcooked like it's been boiled multiple times to warm them up and bland as well. I left them in the bowl. They gave me one huge Idaho potato, it was not RED potatoes which are more tender, have thinner skin, and smaller in size which means they soak up the flavors in the boil better. The extra side of potato that I substituted for the items they ran out of wasn't included. The one cluster of snow crab was decent bc I was hungry and had to make the best out of a bad situation. I honestly wanted my money back. The mac n cheese poppers were delicious but I'm sure I can find them in the frozen food section at Kroger and fry them at home. The kids shrimp meals was came out about 10-12 mins after I had gotten my boil (I had to remind the cashier that we didn't receive it) the fries were plain unsalted as well although it states on the menu Cajun seasoned fries. Over $40 later - we left hungry and unsatisfied. There was no manager available to hear my grievances. Clearly this place was just jumping on the band wagon with no actual experience in cooking New Orleans Cuisine. Theres food in college Park that a man was selling plates off his porch that taste better than this. Look up "the crab man" college park GA. Anyway BUYER BEWARE of crawfish Shack Seafood....
