Food was really tasty and great! But the restaurant seemed understaffed (it was a Tuesday night). I wasn't a big fan of the vibes since the music was playing really loudly and my party had to speak louder even when we were seated at the non-bar section. Maybe lowering the volume when there is less of a crowd (e.g. less than half full) would make the place more pleasant. The restrooms' partition was a little lower than expected with extra toilet paper on top of it. It wasn't bad, just probably would try not to use the restroom next time. Overall, great food!

They’re most definitely CRAZY GOOD!! I had one of the BEST BURGER EVER here recently!! Their popular burger is the Hot Mess and Cheese, which comes with two patties on it, as most of their burgers do. But since I pretty a slightly less messy burger, I opted for a single patty. The meat on the burger was insanely tender and tasty! The cheese and their specially made ketchup and mayo sauces really complemented the burger patty and cheese well… but that shaved beef they put on top really knocked this burger outta the park! Easily one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! Fries were great too! They’ll do them in various styles, so I asked for spicy. This meant they sprinkled some cayenne looking pepper on top and they had a nice kick. Service was decent and the location is interesting, being in a basement of a brownstone. Can’t wait to return!

Google
Amazing! Lovely area, restaurant is the basement of the building and you can hear nice and loud music from outside already. I hade a double cheeseburger with bacon and loaded fries plus nutella milkshake. I wasnt able to finish it all cuz it was sooooo much and the burger was sooooo juicy. The service was also great! I had many burgers before but this was one of the best!

Google
The chicken was so salty it could preserve a mummy! And don't even get me started on the strawberry milkshake - it's thicker than a horror movie plot! Hopefully they're not just thawing it out when someone orders, because fresh is best, folks! On the bright side, their Halloween decor is to die for!

Google
The burger was really good! I had a Double Trouble and got both sauces - the sauces were really tasty, it added flavor to the burger. The burger itself is also really juicy, it worths dinner here if you wanna hang out or catch up with friends. The fries were also really good - it has a lot of seasonings/flavors. It did get crowded so it was hard to get someone attention to order food. Overall, great experience here

Google
Burger was double stacked and delicious! Perfectly cooked and covered in cheese. We also ordered the buffalo chicken fries as well and they did not disappoint! Perfect amount of spice throughout.

Google
Stopped by at the recommendation of the valet at my hotel. (Always a good source for local fare). CGK did not disappoint. I mentioned I was looking for a good burger and that is what I got. I ate the recommended “hot mess” and it was really good. Meat was great, cooked to perfection bun, phenomenal and yes, it was a mess.

Google
Wicked wicked wicked smart - review, Boston edition Crazy Good Kitchen What a find, ground level, nestled on Newberry street, don’t blink or you will miss it- then on the other hand just follow your nose. Great food follows great smells. Word of caution, the servings are bigger than they appear on the menu. They are known for their double stacked burger, not to be overwhelmed I went for the Oklahoma burger- and then I couldn’t finish it. Probably because we also had wings, cheese fries (eat these while hot) and milk shake The service was on point, prompt courteous and helpful. The shakes came first — what a presentation ( a meal in themselves) and in no time … Burgers Up … The cheese fries were perfectly balanced with fries and cheese, best enjoyed while hot. The chicken fingers should be called chicken “hands” bigger than most chicken fingers should meals, and delicious. The Oklahoma burger was better than described on the menu- Delicious complement of bun, meat, cheese, and grilled onions. The price was reasonable Highly recommend Bon Appetit

Yelp
just ate some loaded fries at crazy good kitchen. my boyfriend and i split two orders, the buffalo chicken fries and the chicken bomb fries. would definitely recommend splitting one order between two people, because the chicken bomb fries definitely filled us up - got to take the buffalo chicken fries home with us. would definitely eat here again!

Yelp
What a great find! Completely obsessed with this part of Boston in general. But this cute little place was located below some stores as you stroll this beautiful city and shopping dining area. We could not get enough. The name is spot on. Their burgers are crazy good. Their fries were delicious and the chicken was also good. But i think i may be thinking about that burger for the rest of my life. Lol

Yelp
Stopped in to try a burger ad all reviews looks good. I ordered the double trouble burger with extra burger add on They don't offer onion rings ; so ordered the cheese fries. Fiddle head draft Service was quick Burger ok , button messy and much going on I wanted a 1/2 lb simple cheddar or cheese burger The side of cheese fries was 4 times what I could eat . These were very good . All in all a good burger ; but should off some simple ones... 1/2 or 3/4 lb simple cheeseburger vs 6 oz burgers with all the add on stuff. Fried sprouts might be fries alternative .

Yelp
What a crazy good place to find for lunch! If you're in Boston and happen to be on Newburyport Street and don't mind eating below street level and want a tasty burger, chicken sandwich and fries or many other options, this spot is just for you. We found Crazy Good Kitchen by accident, a happy accident . Very relaxing place, full bar and Downeast Cider. Great food, cold drinks and super servers! Too busy relaxing to take pictures!

Yelp
Ordered: Oklahoma Style Burger (~$14): charred onions with a beef patty smashed right over the top, and made double, American cheese, yellow mustard Sweet & Spicy Fries (~$14): spicy fries drizzled with hot honey topped with spicy chicken tenders tossed on hot honey and drizzle with better than ketchup sauce Diet Coke (~$3) Aya's take: We found ourselves at CGK since we wanted something fairly quick to eat that would also be satisfying and filling. Off the bat, I would highly recommend the Sweet & Spicy Fries. They were crispy, spicy, sweet, and just the perfect harmony of greasy goodness flavors. It could've used some pickles to cut through some of the fat and saltiness. The Oklahoma Style Burger was decent but the taste of onions and yellow mustard completely overpowered it. Most of the onions weren't charred (just sautéed) and along with the yellow mustard, it didn't mesh well together. The bun was super soft and fresh, and the beef patties were juicy and well-seasoned. Loved the Sweet & Spicy Fries but the Oklahoma Style Burger didn't hit the spot as I hoped it would.

Yelp
The place itself is nice. The food is fairly priced and is pretty good. My order came out pretty quickly which is good. The location is amazing. You just can't beat it I think. Overall, a pretty good experience.

Yelp
Always good food here. First experience was a yelp elite week. Since then I've obviously come back. Great chicken , chicken sandwiches , burgers, salad , fries. Literally everything is good. Now that I've moved I'll miss this place. Can't wait to revisit. I have told all my Boston friends about this place and made sure to make them fans too.

Caroline S.

Yelp
CGK is a good option if you're on Newbury and searching for a casual lunch/dinner location. Always crowded, but their food is pretty solid. Their chicken sandwich is always a go to for me -- well fried and served with good toppings. They have both an indoor and outdoor dining option: indoor space is small and cozy, outdoor is right on the sidewalk/street. Service is also pretty quick -- overall a solid location.

Chirag P.

Yelp
Service: Quick and simple, scan to view the menu, they got burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, tenders, milkshakes, crazy milkshakes, cocktails, etc. So, standard burger joint fare. The chicken tenders were very well cooked and great breading/flavor! The fries were okay, i wish they were thinner and crispier, but not too bad still. The side bbq sauce, blue cheese, and buffalo were pretty standard, and good. Overall decent place for burger like food.

Yelp
Awesome spot. Went in the 3 other guys after a sporting event. Debbie was awesome giving us great advice and matching our vibe. The wings (make it spicy) were crazy good, nicely crunchy on the outside and tender juicy on the inside. Buffalo chicken fries were excellent, nice heat. They have shakes and drinks that we all enjoyed. We had burgers or chicken sandwiches and they were all excellent. Thanks!!

Yelp
Wow, the name really says it all, the food here is Crazy Good! After a busy day of walking around Boston (and doing some day drinking) we arrived back to our hotel in need of a serious meal. We happened upon Crazy Good Kitchen and were instantly hooked when we saw the menu. I ordered the Oklahoma style burger which has two patties, one of which is smashed on top of onions, along with mustard and American cheese. I also added the Better than Ketchup and burnt butter mayo to mine. I know you may doubt me, but this might have been one of the best burgers I have ever had, and I have had a lot of burgers in my lifetime. The patties were juicy and seasoned well, the toppings all complimented the burger and weren't too overpowering, and the cherry on top was the light and airy sesame bun. Just so freaking good. My girlfriend got the 'Merica Style and it was delicious as well. I honestly don't think any of the burgers will disappoint. We opted for the steak bomb fries and they were *the bomb*. Fried perfectly and topped with shaved steak, peppers, onions, and queso these had me in awe of how good they were. We ordered one order and it was big enough for the two of us to share. To finish the meal off I got a Nutella shake which was pretty dang good as well. Do yourselves a favor and stop by Crazy Good Kitchen if you have the chance and you will not be disappointed!

Yelp
What seems to be a small establishment really opens up when you head downstairs! If you're bringing a group of people, I'd say 5 would be close to the max amount of people that could sit comfortably in one area (as was the case for our group). We came at around 5 pm on a Saturday (which I would recommend to avoid a huge wait!). Items ordered (as of 4/2024): - Double Trouble - $15.50 (single patty) - Bread was very tender. There was ample amounts of bacon and the butter + ketchup combination worked really well. While not the best burger I've ever had it's definitely up there! - Chicken bomb fries - $13 - This was pretty good but surprisingly heavy due to the cheese (of which there is ample amounts). The flavor is good and it's basically a cheesesteak (obviously with chicken instead) with fries under it. Definitely share this with 2 or 3 people since it is DENSE! - Sweet and spicy fries - $13.50 - This was a big winner for me. Not too sweet with a nice kick at the end! The chicken really adds to this when combined with the fries. Best of all it's not too heavy! I would get this again. Overall we really enjoyed our meal. Probably the biggest complaint when we were there was how hot and humid it was inside (it was around 60 degrees outside). Definitely will be back to try their other burgers/fries!

Cai F.

Yelp
Two thumbs up! I ordered the sweet and spicy fries and, considering the modest price of $14, received a hefty portion of fries topped with diced chicken tenders. They didn't skimp on the drizzled hot honey or mayo-based sauce either. Everything tasted freshly made and flavorful. From the time I placed my order in the early afternoon it took less than 30 minutes. I arrived right when the confirmation said it'd be ready and sure enough it was. They were even thoughtful enough to toss a plastic fork in the bag without my asking. Next time I'm in the area I'd like to give their burgers a go.

Yelp
I saw this restaurant on social media, and my family added it to our Boston itinerary after we were done shopping at Newbury Street. The restaurant was partially underground, and the interior felt like a modern pub. The host was nice and promptly showed us to our table. I ordered the Oklahoma Style burger ($13) and the Sweet and Spicy Fries ($13). I thought the burger would be a smash burger, but it was just a regular patty with onions barely smashed in and missing the meat lace that I was expecting. The patty did not taste seasoned, and the burger fell apart after a few bites. The chicken was cold on the fries, but the sauce was good. I would skip this place if you're looking for burgers.

Marcus W.

Yelp
For lunch I tried the Fry me up chicken sandwich, Toasted Brioche, Lettuce, House Pickles & Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Fried Chicken - Gluten Free bun. The chicken was juicy and it had a great crispy batter, pickles had a good taste and the homemade ranch was delicious great balance with the sandwich the bun was fresh it was truly delicious! The spicy fries had a nice crunch to them wasn't soggy fries the spicy was perfect really good! The milkshake vanilla flavor I got was rich and the shakes are extra thick they give you a big straw to use. Very happy with my meal will be back again! Check it out if you haven't yet it's worth it!!!!!

Jerry F.

Yelp
I rarely give a five star rating, especially when the hostess is a cranky snoot, but the burger and fries were probably the best I've ever had. They double fry the fries which is a must and somehow the burger was light, sophisticated, and damn good. The rest of the staff was pleasant and attentive. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Brooke C.

Yelp
I loved my milkshake from here! I sat at a table outside which would have been nice but the bugs came out as soon as it got dark. Nonetheless I really loved my crazy milkshake- the little red. It was decorated a bit differently than the picture online, but I kinda liked that. I felt I got a more unique experience that way. We also got cheesy fries which were a fun complement to the milkshakes!

Haben F.

Yelp
I wish there were more vegetarian options than just the veggie burger and fries (all the salads come with meat). The service was quick but a bit spotty, we ordered sodas and they took a while to come, it seemed like the servers were a bit all over the place. It also felt like we were rushed to pay the bill and leave. That being said, the outdoor seating was lovely, and the music was great. The portions were also very fair considering the price point.

Emil C.

Yelp
I was in town with my friends for the Boston Marathon. My friend and I stopped in here for lunch on Sunday before the marathon. Since it was just the two of us, we just got seats at the bar. It was my first time and I went with the Hot Mess and Cheese burger. My friend had forgotten to warn me ahead of time to get the cheese sauce on the side. It was a dang good burger, but boy was it wet! I guess it was very much appropriately named! I did love the shaved steak to go with the nice quality patty. That was unique. The only downside with that particular burger was that it was just way too saucy for my liking! Service was nice and friendly. Definitely, wouldn't mind coming back. I'll probably get a "drier" burger on a future visit.

Jen C.

Yelp
Friendly hostess greeted us as soon as we popped in on a rainy afternoon for lunch. We were seated right away. Menu is pretty simple with burgers, chicken sandwiches/tenders, and fries. Food came out quick and hot. I had the 3 tender meal. It was decent, nothing amazing, but it was filling and hit the spot after a long morning without breakfast.

Shirley C.

Yelp
The tender and fries was the best part of all the things we ordered. The burgers does not come with any vegetable, like tomato and lettuce. The Pattie's are also oily and the burgers are packed with cheese. It was good but got nauseous near the end. Also could not finish the fries. The fries are not that good, it is less crispy than expected and very thick. Overall, for $13, the burgers are overpriced in my opinion. It does not come with a side of fries, you are strictly paying for the burger with no veggies. (They are also all single Pattie's, double Pattie's are $17)

A C.

Yelp
I personally really like this place because I'm a huge fan of cheese fries and burgers. I am pretty picky when it comes to cheese fries (for example I'm not a fan of shake shacks cheese fries bc it's too milky flavor lol but I love cookouts cheese fries because its hot and always super cheesy). I really like their milkshakes too and when I go here it reminds me of a diner style place with shakes. However I did notice that they will ask you to share their place on Instagram or social media for a discount which is a good business move but I feel like it takes away from the food focus. Anyways, I personally still really like the burgers, fries, and shakes here so I'd still give it a five star rating not because they asked me to share on social media.

Emily X.

Yelp
The burger is quite hefty. The meat has a good flavor and is cooked well. A bit overwhelming. The fries were terrible. Not crispy, cold, seasonless.

Qin Z.

Yelp
Very crowded, loud, and lively environment. There are still decent amount of space between the tables. Didn't have to wait too long for the server to get to us and food came out pretty fast. Hot mess and cheese burger: 5/5 great burger. The patties were more smash burger style. Love the gooey cheese. Very messy like its name and a double stack will fill you up. Delicious! Overall: 5/5 great food and everyone had a great time! Large portions.

Hanna H.

Yelp
A SOLID burger!! I don't get to come here as often as I'd like, but I always love what I get here! This location is very convenient and walkable since it is right on Newbury St. When you walk in, there is a decent amount of seating especially since it's in the basement. Service was fine and the food came out within a reasonable time. As for the food, our group got a different array of burgers and fries. The burger itself is very juicy and flavorful. I always struggle to find a place that uses good quality patty meat, and this place does great with taste and texture! The truffle fries are also really great! They give a lot in quantity and flavor them well. I ordered: - Double Trouble Burger - Truffle Fries

Dody E.

Yelp
An awesome spot on Newbury with some of the best sandwiches and burgers in Boston. My friend and I were seated quickly and loved the setup. I had a spectacular fried chicken sandwich and it didn't break the bank! You can tell the ingredients are high quality. The chicken: fantastic. The ranch: great flavor addition. Pickles: homemade? Surely. My friend got the double trouble and said it was best burger he had in Boston... that's some high praise. Bacon cheese fries were good but definitely heavy (shocker). Highly recommend to anyone in the area!

Jen H.

Yelp
Burger - 9/10 Spicy chicken sandwich - 8/10 (chicken had the right amount of spice to it, but was a bit messy with the slaw and sauce) Bacon cheese fries - 6/10 (fries weren't crispy and there was an overload of cheese that unfortunately lacked flavor) While we got seated right away and the food came out fairly quickly, our server was nowhere to be found even though we were her only table. It took her a long time to take our ordered then I ended up having to get her from behind the bar to close our our tab. Burger is definitely worth ordering - thin, juicy and great bun. I would skip the fries next time though and save the calories for a second burger instead!

Loyld G.

Yelp
10/08/24 8:58 pm Service was good, no complaints. Ambiance is just OK, it's a burger spot. I had the Hot Mess and Cheese with an extra patty to make it a double. This is probably in my top five burgers so far. Double Hot Mess and Cheese, "Our signature beef patty, shaved steak, double American cheese, griddled onions, topped with/ House Cheese sauce and Better Than Ketchup" I had this with classic fries in which was just OK. I did not want fries with a bunch of stuff in it. I also had the Mango Lemonade which wasn't bad, it was good as well.

Natania C.

Yelp
Server was super nice and answered a lot of questions. There are cheap options for those on a budget. My only not-quite-issue is that the menu is slightly lacking in variety.

Jose B.

Yelp
Great smash burgers, tasty fries, and excellent service. What more could you ask for?

Gloria M.

Yelp
Came here on a weeknight and it wasn't too busy. The inside is nice and they have some cool LED lights throughout. The lavender haze cocktail was good. However, the amount of glitter in it wasn't my favorite. The mango habanero cocktail was super yummy. I loved the buffalo chicken loaded fries. The chicken sandwich called "but make it spicy" is the best chicken sandwich I have had in Boston.

Victoria N.

Yelp
Such a wonderful place to eat! I absolutely loved the burger and fries, the staff was amazing and the vibe of the place was giving small mom and pop shop! I truly loved everything about this place!

Joana W.

Yelp
Amazing food! Burgers, fries and shakes, always a fun time. Excellent food and truly great burgers for true burger enthusiasts. They do not rely on crazy toppings to make it taste good. Their toppings enhances it! If you like loaded fries, you must try the buffalo chicken fries.

Renee H.

Yelp
Location: Location is 8/10. Super walkable, bunch of stores near by to burn off the food you just tore up. It's nice. Food: the food is great. The bread to meat ratio is perfect. Bun is perfectly warmed, the meat perfectly grilled. The Fries were doin their thing. Everything was delicious, seasoned well. You know it's good when you're stuffed but keep going. Prices: Decent for burgers and fries these days. Average about $20 something bucks. Service: is always good (to me), i haven't gone when it was super busy. During the week and before 6pm. Place is a bit small, and almost underground? Well it is underground but regardless it has a pleasant vibe to it. Decent seating also.

Chuan-Wei L.

Yelp
This is Crazy Good Kitchen on Newbury Street. Nothing beats the outdoor seating when the weather is nice (I went during the summer time). It is perfect to enjoy some great food while people watching. Last time I got the burger from their OG location in Malden, so this time I got the But Make It Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich! I said no pickles though because only bad people like pickles. I washed it all down with a delicious Nutella shake. I had no regrets until the next day at the gym trying to burn off all the calories consumed. My buddy enjoyed his Double Trouble burger (two 6oz beef patties, applewood-smoked bacon, American cheese, and house pickled onion) and a side of Buffalo Ranch Chicken Fries topped with chopped parsley. T'was a good day.

Cierra C.

Yelp
Crazy Good Kitchen lives up to its name! I was absolutely obsessed with their parmesan garlic fries and the serving sizes were good for 2 meals in my opinion. The staff was very friendly and I felt comfortable eating by myself. I loved the interior and the decorations made it extremely comfy & cozy.

Radhwan Y.

Yelp
This place is an amazing place. The food is very flavorful and delicious. All you have to do is try it once and you'll be addicted to this place.

Ted R.

Yelp
Thanks Yelp! My office in Back Bay is 0.5 miles from here and I never knew until I scanned Yelp today. What a little gem under the street! I had the chicken and fries---wow. Honestly may be the best chicken I've had anywhere in Boston. I've been to Nashville many times for work and always get the hot chicken there, and the CGK chicken represents! I got the spicy chicken, spicy fries, and burnt butter mayo. While not nearly as spicy, this chicken is in the conversation with Hattie B's and Prince's when it comes to flavor and quality. Get it!

Gary G.

Yelp
Another excellent visit, though less impressive with apps than the glorious burger. Keep reading to the burger. Chicken Wings: Available with or without fries; best option is to order with to kill two birds with one stone. While the tenders are sizable, crisp, and tender, the wings are crisp but embarrassingly small. I went with the "But Make it Spicy" flavor, more of a dry rub leaning toward paste than a sauce. Pro move is to ask for sauce as well and hit it with some Buffalo for a wetter version of heat. Fries: Again not bad, just nothing really noteworthy. 'Merica Style Burger: Second time trying this one, both times with double patties, and both times superbly executed. It has their "signature" beef patty, homemade pickles, well melted cheese, tender griddled onions cut into large pieces, and "Better Than Ketchup Sauce" that blends unobtrusively into the whole. The bun is a buttered and griddled brioche-y number. But the star of the show here is the glorious beef: it's a smash burger style, so they don't ask you temperature, but it comes out really juicy even cooked to medium. You get a good crust, but they don't push down to get it extra crispy, like many smash burgers, so the bonus is not only extra juiciness but also a delicate interior that feels really good. Beefiness is off the charts. The whole thing combines really well and is greater than even the sum of the well-executed parts. It's so good I don't even mind the dinky wings. (Best approach for next time is a second burger, with just one patty and done in a different style, instead of an app.) Highly recommended. (And I've had the fried chicken sandwich at their Malden location and it's great too.)

Tamekka D.

Yelp
Didn't feel like cooking so placed an uber eats order. Was fast received in under 30 minutes. I'm overly stuffed and we still have left overs. Price was around 137, add in my receipt so you can see your breakdown. Yes I do recommend this place it was delicious my chicken sandwich was a bit messy and my ole man said his burger was super beefy taste and tasted clean.

Varinderjit K.

Yelp
We ordered the Hot Mess and Cheese Burger, the Veggie Friend Burger along with sweet and spicy fries without chicken. We had it for takeout. The burger and fries will still warm and delicious. The sauces on the fries were phenomenal.

Erin O.

Yelp
A very solid, delicious burger in the heart of Back Bay! I've passed by this restaurant several times before and finally got to try it out this evening. I was impressed with the flavors and freshness of the 'Merica burger but was a little put down by the priciness and quality of the parmesan truffle fries (which I wouldn't order again). Still, the servers here were very friendly and our food came out quickly. Because we were seated near the bar, it was very loud and crowded near us, but I'm sure this isn't a problem in most other seating areas. Still an enjoyable experience, and I'd probably return!

Eva G.

Yelp
OMG! This place is amazing and delicious! This time I placed a to go order to bring it back to California to share! I ordered the chicken tenders and a burger. The burger was so good that it just didn't make it to Cali! Lol The chicken tenders did make it and were well enjoyed! I recommend you try this place out!

Theresa A.

Yelp
Got take out - amazing chicken tenders- Nashville style w fries $13 which is a bargain these days. They were super huge and great quality. Easy ordering and ready on time

Lisa F.

Yelp
Yes best burger ! Great staff. Fun atmosphere. I wish it was closer. I really want there shirts

Chuck D.

Yelp
The name says it all. Crazy Good food and excellent service to boot. If you are looking for a great burger, you should try this place.

Denise D.

Yelp
Seems as though the quality of the sweet and spicy fries has gone down. I'm wondering if they got a new cook. When I first started ordering them, they were delicious and fresh now, it seems like they are serving up old food. I hope they get it together
