I recently visited Credo Beauty and had a mixed experience. The start was nice, with a helpful associate showing me different makeup products. I was offered a free sample from another associate. However, I didn’t feel it was a collaborative experience, even though I mentioned the brands I was interested in. The associate selected multiple products, and I felt quite pressured to buy everything, which made me uncomfortable and eager to leave. So I bought everything in a hurry didn’t get my sample-whomp whomp. I was internally having a panic attack. Days later I went to return some items, the experience was just okay at best. Felt pressured again to buy more products. Honestly, next time, I’d bring a buddy for support. Or just be clear I’m just browsing or something-retail is so bleak these days. 😞

Julie is AMAZING!! I came in to get a new perfume and she was so knowledgeable about each brand and scent profile. The store was so nicely put together and I had no problem finding the perfect scent. I was also impressed with their social distancing rules, so I felt comfortable during my shop. This was my first time here as a local, and I highly recommend this store for clean, natural products. ALSO! As somebody who loves reducing waste and recycling THIS store has a great policy where they will allow you to recycle old, rinsed out products.

Vivian was such a great help when I recently visited! I was replenishing some essentials and she let me know about a promo going on with that brand so I got the best bang for my buck. All of the employees here are always professional while still being friendly. Great team!

I love this store! The staff is so wonderful. Devin recently helped me track down the Tower 28 Melrose SPF foundation which was sold out in most stores. The staff at this location are especially wonderful and the store is beautiful and big. I love the recycling program, so meaningful that they do that. All of their products pass certain standards as far as the ingredients, and minimal packaging, etc. I'm so grateful to find them because I have recently been trying to reduce my use of plastic. I highly recommend the Tower 28 products. The SOS spray was great for post-fraxel laser recovery, and is also great to take on the go to spritz your face after workouts. The Tower 28 foundation is so great too! Just the right amount of coverage (not too heavy/not too light). Love this store so much!

Ask for Devon! He knows color theory! helped me find some products that work well with my olive skin tone. Another customer asked me if I was wearing makeup. When I said I was she replied, “it looks beautiful”

A couple months ago I came in to the store to shop for some travel essentials with my 10 year old, upon entering I was greeted by two female employees. Out of no where, to my surprise the two women begin to shake their ass. Such vulgar behavior! I immediately left as I was upset that my daughter had to witness that. I decided to file a complaint with the company and spoke to one of the higher ups, not sure if she did anything as she has not gotten back to me. Nonetheless I will not be shopping here for a while. No one wants to walk in to a store with their child to have them witness inappropriate behavior.

I walked in to just see an availability of a product i consider a staple in my daily use, and all of the staff were immediately knowledgeable about its availability. The person who helped me gave me multiple options on how to purchase the product even though i wasnt ready to make a large transaction, they informed me to check up on the product frequently due to its popularity. Very understanding and kind. The quick experiance was effortless, 1.2.3 done.

Came in while visiting from out of town and Jess helped me find some hair products that she thought would work specifically for my hair type. I wanted to go in and thank her and show her how good my hair looks but I ran out of time. Jess is not only super helpful but very cool and fun to chat with. I feel like a new woman. THANK YOU <3

Ahhhh my dreams come true when I walk into a Credo! I love products that come in reusable/recyclable containers and the ingredients of the items are all listed, explained, and clean!! Just simply love it! I normally only shop online for their products and have for years but when I am in a location that has a store front, I always check it out. This location has wonderful employees that are so willing to answer any and all your questions! They are not ones to make you feel pushed to get something either which is an amazing feeling. Also they are doing the recycling promo of double points until April 30th for members...so when your product is empty take it back for points!! I can't recall the two employees that helped me so much but I promise you they were amazing!! They offer makeup application and samples of the items they carry and you may be curious about. They do have options to get facials and such, which I am unsure of where they do it at since the area is small but hey it's an option! I will definitely come back to this location each time I am close by!!!

I love this Credo location! I really get breathing room with the natural light & open layout. Vivi & Diana are my go tos whenever I have an ingredient question, while both Julia's keep me up to date with their expansive artistry knowledge. Love it here! And I always spend less here than at Sephora which is dope

deidre is amazing - woah! I'd recommend going to this credo in Williamsburg because of her- she made me immediately feel comfortable, is fun, serious and also a master makeup artist. she has incredibly high emotional/social IQ and knows how to not just apply makeup so you feel empowered doing it yourself at home but gets your style and says what works honestly. she does not push you into buying things yet I leave every time feeling like I just learned about myself, how to apply and like I can do it on my own and i always leave with new products that I use routinely every day. Go to this store to work with her. I now come back to get her advice and guidance and will travel to this store just to do that bc she is there and I like the products credo sells. thank you

Thank you Colton for making the entire makeup application experience so fun and affirming! Everyone on the team was so friendly & sweet! I appreciated their recommendations for how to get what I want to achieve without any pushing products! I ended up getting a few I liked anyway! I got my makeup done here for my bday and so glad I did, everyone said I was glowing and it was the perfect coverage without feeling weighted by the makeup. Definitely going back!

Aggressive, pushy, and condescending staff. They immediately leech onto you and give you no breathing room. i can color match myself, let me be.

I'm giving this a review from my perspective following my following my fiancée around here. The customer service was impeccable. The young woman clearly knew her craft above and beyond what was expected. My fiancée peppered her with question after question, and the young woman deftly answered each of them. The products themselves clearly demonstrate an awareness importance of clean, natural, products. I'm not personally involved in purchasing makeup but the prices seem fair. Bravo!

I have been to this location a few times and the staff here has always been very friendly and engaging. The staff here is eager to help and make suggestions and they are not pushy or judgemental. In another location, I had asked for sunscreen suggestions for people of color (ugh that white cast!) that's under $30. I saw the saleswoman judging me and I felt like I had to justify my budget (honestly, I rather spend more on skincare than a tiny tube of sunscreen that I will need to reapply every 2 hours). I definitely did not feel that way here. Stop by if you are ever in the area. I am removing one star because I bought something earlier in the week and the color was different on the packaging. They were less than friendly when I did that return even though I bought it from Credo less than 3 days ago and the product was unused.

After a less than friendly interaction over the phone with the Soho location. My friend had also been treated harshly there in person. We decided to come to the Williamsburg store instead and it was the right choice. Signage is very clear and explicit at credo. That is very much appreciated. Their social distancing protocol is controlled with limiting the amount of customers in the store at the time, temperature checks, and instantly sanitising your hands. This space is modern, airy, neutral and clean. So refreshing! All of the employees have the same vibe. We came in with recyclables for their program and was super happy that all of the items were taken in. They are revamping the program that their testing where some of the former things rejected are now excepted. The session was Informative to find what is now ok to bring in. We had a great time swapping beauty ritual secrets and chuckles. From the time we came in the door, Elyse and her staff made us feel welcomed, safe and appreciated. It's nothing like going to a store to spend your hard earned money and have employees treat you as if you shouldn't be there. This was surely not the case here and it will be my main location to visit going forward.

I had the best experience with Deidre at this store, she was so helpful and knowledgeable about skincare and introduced me to a few products that I'm in love with already. Her personality was a breath of fresh air, she made it a great visit. Thank you to the Credo team!

Deidre is phenomenal. I always love coming into Credo, but it's hard for me to not get overwhelmed by all of the products. Deidre took my hand (literally) and helped me figure out in layman terms what my skin needed, and was not trying to sell me $300 moisturizer. Her only agenda was to help me. She is so knowledgable and has been in the industry for a long time, Credo you are lucky to have her! I will be back and will continue to request Deidre help me.

Love credo! Rebecca Aaron did my makeup, and was so wonderful. Kind patient and TALENTED! Was so receptive to what I was going for, and picked out the perfect colors for my skin tone. Highly recommend not only the store, but getting makeup done by her.

Christina was amazing! SO helpful, kind, and willing to give me samples before I commit to new products. Have always shopped at Sephora but will exclusively be giving Credo all of my $. 10/10 recommend

Excellent customer service! I just came out of Credo store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. I got the best experience in the community of Green Beauty ever!! In so long. The ladies were helpful, nice and smart. They helped me to choose the right product for my skin and plus they gave me advices. I'm glad I came to this new location and did not give up. I'm definitely coming back again ONLY to this Credo location in New York. Thanks again ladies! Have a nice day :)

I LOVE Credo. I wish I'd found it earlier to be honest. I used to be a Sephora addict, rouge member the whole deal, and after stumbling upon Credo I literally binned all my Sephora products and now only buy from here. The staff are so friendly and beyond helpful, they also never push products on you which is great. Using their products makes me feel like I'm doing something good for my skin, as silly as that might sound I don't feel like I'm caking on product, rather the products have ingredients to improve my skin. Highly recommend! Also when I'm feeling too lazy to head over there, their online shopping is a breeze as well!

Horrible experience here. I wanted to return an item that I bought as a gift for my sister. It was this water consistent lip scrub that stopped working after one use. I was totally okay with getting store credit since it was way past the due date. However, the lady that I dealt with, who I think was the store manager, was very unhelpful and rude. She told me I had to contact the actual product brand to let them know what was wrong with it but that she/Credo could not do anything to help me. Um, hello, I bought this item from YOU and you're telling me I need to contact some brand that I did not give me money to? You're the one who should be helping me since I gave my money to YOU. This pretentious overpriced vegan brand is not about customer service at all. They only want your money so watch out if you have a problem with your product. You definitely won't be getting your money back. I am never coming back to this location, and because of the bad experience, I will not be a returning customer of Credo. I've already told everyone I know and they're totally turned off.

Monique made this visit for us and was an absolute rockstar. She suggested several skincare products and gave pros and cons of each and without asking - launches into a full, Princess Diaries makeover scene, makeup consult for my sister and I. This is by far the most fun I've ever had at a make up counter and I left with several products that I feel really good about. Such a bright and positive energy, your store is incredibly lucky to have her. Rachel was also so great and was able to make suggestions across several brands. They made this experience approachable, hilarious and I can't wait to return.

I've been shopping at Credo Williamsburg for 2 years now. It's my favorite store in the neighborhood. Everyone is so helpful and will take the time to recommend products that suit your skin type, preference and budget. Want to make a special shout out to Monique, who is simply amazing! I booked a makeup session with her ahead of my wedding and she spent an hour guiding me through the process, explaining every thing she was doing and teaching me some tips. She followed up a few times after with me to make sure I was set up and didn't have any questions. It was such a great experience - I really recommend it! There was no major push to buy products afterwards, just what I really needed or felt comfortable with.

I am a huge fan of this location of Credo! It's a beautiful space, they carry amazing all natural beauty and skin care products, and the sales associates are wonderful (shout out to Janna). They also host incredible beauty events so definitely worth getting on their email list. Highly recommend this store.

I really can't say enough good things about how talented and helpful the staff here is. I came in with bad bruising from surgery hoping I could find a concealer to soften them a little before a work event that evening. Sky and her colleague (apologies I didn't catch her name) went way, way above and beyond to recommend products and apply them in a way that exceeded anything I could have imagined. I honestly looked better than I do normally. One of those experiences that makes you feel a little more optimistic about humanity.

I have eczema which cause the skin around my eye to crack open, usually it takes months to heal. This time I went to Credo and Christine changed my life! She suggested the Province Apothecary Healing Eczema Balm and the Dr Rogers Restore Healing Balm and my skin cleared up within two days. She saved me from months of pain, can't recommend Credo enough.

Dug my neglected Yelp account out of mothballs just to write a glowing review because I had *such* an awesome experience at this store. Called super last-minute to pick up some of their (very chic!) hand sanitizer and spoke with Elyse. She was AMAZINGLY lovely, helpful and generous with her time (especially considering she was closing up for the day). Bought a great Innbeauty lip oil along with the sanitizer. Their products are SO stellar, the shop is beautifully curated and I was really blown away by Elyse's kind professionalism. What a pleasure. I'm going to make it a point to support these guys!!

I'm a regular at the Prince Street location so I'm used to a high level of service from Credo. Today was my first visit to the Williamsburg location and it exceeded my expectations! I got lucky, and was the only customer in the store. The two girls working were SUPER DUPER knowledgeable about a range of products for several different "issues" I wanted to tackle. They both shared their insights, favorite products, and personal tips. I love being able to talk seriously about clean beauty, like it's the most important subject one could possibly be engaging in on a Saturday afternoon. I really respected their opinions! They gave me a few samples to try, which is always appreciated. I love the Prince store girls, but it's always good to get a fresh take! Plus these two chickadees had amazing skin...very inspiring. Hey Credo, you should have your shop girls take over your social media feeds. It's really nice to get a range of opinions about which products work. These girls were able to tell me which products people come in for and buy more than once. That's valuable when trying to pick from all the good stuff you have on the shelves. I liked getting the "Brooklyn" take on stuff for a change.

Consistently bad service. They're also NOT following COVID safety and let customers touch all the makeup and try things on their skin themselves, which would be fine if they were actually cleaning the makeup after..which workers definitely are not (witnessed this myself)

This store carries great products, some of my favorites in fact, including rms & African Botanics, but the customer service is lacking. As soon as I walked in, I felt as if I was given the once over and summarily dismissed by the woman who was working the floor. I asked a couple questions about some of the products and was met with a reluctant answer, and a borderline hostile attitude. It was so bizarre, and totally unprompted. My friend was with me, and she also felt uncomfortable and left quickly. It's a small store, so making people feel welcome is super important!

Willing to give this place another chance, but I feel like the people working are just trying to push expensive products. I was excited about coming here because I have allergies and sensitive skin and was hoping for help finding more natural products with low number of ingredients. I ended up with an expensive moisturizer and face wash. I think I like the moisturizer although the smell is a bit much for me. I had told the guy I wanted little perfume in my products because of my sensitive skin and nose. I cant wear perfume without a runny nose. And he gave me wash that had almond oil as the first ingredient even though that was the number one thing I needed him to pay attention to. I am allergic to nuts. When I checked out I realized there was someone giving away samples from the same line as the almond wash, so clearly after talking to me for a while he ended up just handing me something that was on promotion. He probably got a commission or something, which would explain why he didn't check the label and just wanted to make the sale. Was able to return the wash and noticed as soon as I got home, but now I don't trust them. Buying beauty products is daunting to me and I feel no more enlightened after speaking with him.

I cannot say enough good things about Credo. I almost never write reviews, but this store exceeds expectations every time I go in. Every staff member is incredibly friendly and knowledgable. I walk in with some vague idea of what I want and within a minute somebody has greeted me, asked what I'm looking for, asked specific questions about my skin, and is taking me shelf to shelf with personalized recommendations and samples. It never feels like they're pushing expensive products or upselling you - they give honest, real opinions on each product and will never rush you into a decision. Thanks to Credo, I found my holy grail cleanser (One Love Botanical B Enzyme Cleansing Oil), and will keep coming back as long as I live nearby. They have amazing products and amazing staff!

Monique went above and beyond for our makeup consultation. She did not rush us or push any products on us to purchase (even though I'm sure I walked out with half the store). Humans like Monique make purchasing skincare and makeup a breeze and could not recommend coming to see her or Rachel in this location more.

If you're looking for natural skincare , clean beauty products, this is the best spot in New York. The store is incredibly well stocked with both organic/natural skincare and make up products. Lots of brands to choose from . They have another location in the city but the Williamsburg store has the best , nicest, most helpful staff . Incredible customer service , very knowledgeable staff that will listen to your needs and recommend something that suits You. I finally broke up with Sephora and I don't go anywhere else!

I had the most incredible experience today with Elle! Not only did she have incredible knowledge about all of the products, but she carefully helped me pick out the right things for me! She was extremely patient and talented, as well as an absolute pleasure to work with. I'll certainly be back based on this experience!

There are not enough great things to say about this Credo location and it's team. Me and my bridesmaids had our makeup done here for my wedding and everyone looked amazing! Janna did my makeup and spent nearly two hours on me making sure I looked perfect. The lipstick I chose at my trial weeks before was discontinued and she had the foresight to save it for me which was so thoughtful. I will definitely be back for future events!

The ladies here are always nice. When you walk in you're greeted right away and If you need help looking for products they will assist you in finding them or making a selection. Credo carries various mid-range to higher end natural brands (all of which I believe are cruelty-free and some are also vegan), but overall they are on the pricey side so be prepared to spend (there are few lower priced items). Sometimes the representatives of these brands are present in store to recommend products in the line that would work best for you. Today, a rep from Osea was present and she recommended a few products to me (I received some samples of those items). If you are interested in an item but not ready to purchase they will make a sample for you if you ask. I picked up a few items. If you have your heart set on purchasing a specific item I would recommend calling ahead to confirm, it seems everything they carry online they will have in store, but there are some items that could be out of stock or not sold in the store.

Was lucky enough to get Janna on the phone to help me with a foundation I craved. Janna was so lovely and helpful, not in any rush to move onto another client. She held the product for me, and once I got there, got me hooked up with the right shade. I found the bright, airy shop, a pleasure to browse, and ended up with several more products. I'm so happy I found Credo, but even happier I had Janna to help me! Thanks again.

Five stars and a big thanks to Magdelina who gave me her full attention. I needed some really non toxic makeup, no fragrances, etc. I let her choose what shades I needed. Everything was perfect and surprisingly less money than I thought I would spend. Love this store!

My go-to spot for the best selection of clean beauty head to toe! Everyone is super helpful and friendly without being pushy (and I'm there at least once a month). Monique is my go-to. She's extremely knowledgeable on the products and is great at giving options for both your skin and wallet needs. I've also gotten my makeup done with her twice for events and loved it. Great way to see new products in action and learn a few tricks. Monique really listen and the makeup lasts. She's also great at letting me know about in-store events, which they have some really cool ones. Overall, great place to shop for clean beauty with options, information and a good return policy if something doesn't work.

I decided to make the change to clean makeup products and I'm so happy I went to Credo in Brooklyn. Amazing service!! Magdalena was extremely helpful and wonderful to interact with. She did a complete makeup overhaul for me and recommended a few skincare products as well. I'll definitely be going back sooner than later.

Some of the rudest employees I could imagine at a store. I've come in twice just to see what they have and find cleaner products than I'm used to. Both times I was asked what I was looking for and both times I said I was just looking. Then when I asked a simple question like "can you tell me about the different cleansers you have?" I was given a response like "well what is it you want? We have lots of different products at different price ranges." I explained I don't really know what I'm looking for and don't even know what's out there. She told me I could feel free to look around and walked back to the counter chatting with another employee. Unreal. The store carries sooo many different products that I would actually like to hear about. The second time I came in I really wanted to look into green makeup but didn't know where exactly I should start and got the same dismissive treatment from a different employee. Have given up on trying their products and are sticking with Sephora a few blocks away with much more helpful nicer people.

Goodbye, Sephora. Hello, Credo. My new FAVORITE place! Janna was highly knowledgable and beyond helpful. Highly recommend this location. In love with all my new natural makeup! Credo is my new go-to for all my makeup and skincare needs.

Love the store and the products, but don't enjoy the customer service. I've been in many times over the years to purchase things that I need and have had a hit or miss experience with the customer service. The last few times the customer service has even felt unpleasant to the point that I almost wanted to leave. No one wants to come to a high end store to spend a lot of money on make-up and feel like the people at the store treat them like a nuisance when they ask questions about the products they are purchasing - not cool.

Credo is a great store, filled with a well-curated selection of natural and clean products. I suggest coming in with a list, but good luck to you anyway! Especially if Enid & Rachel are on deck, but I mean that in a good way. :) They're friendly & helpful and made my most recent trip a lot of fun. "Green beauty" can be a little intimidating & also costly, but you will find a range of prices and everything is laid out in a welcoming way. Now if only they'd open a location in Queens!

Really negative experience. The staff at Credo on Prince Street is great; never felt coerced, only assisted and supported. But the woman I dealt with in the Brooklyn store did a hard sell, pushing product on me to the point that I couldn't exit the shop fast enough. I bought my foundation and bolted. What I really resent is the employee tried to sell me a brush that's not even recommended for the product I purchased. Pressuring a customer is certain to backfire, and I, for one, will never visit this particular Credo store again.

LOVE this store and the women who run it are incredibly helpful and lovely to work with. So happy credo is now in NYC.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record from all of the previous reviews, the customer service here is great! The salespeople are knowledgeable about products and skin care, and they don't try and sell or pressure you to buy what you don't need. The other thing is, the events are great! They are really interested in helping their consumers learn how to live well and feel personally strong, both forms of inner beauty. The speakers are often from the female-owned companies they stock. I've been to a few of the store events and will return. They have a point system now at all Credo Beauty stores, which is good if you are a Credo addict like me.

I love Credo! I used to always go to the Prince street location but was in Williamsburg the other day in passing so was nice to visit their 2nd location! Oh Credo! I this place is a natural beauty lovers paradise so I could honestly buy their whole store and everything in it if I could! Great attentive staff... they list and help you with what you need! Always a pleasure shopping here!

Favorite beauty store for cruelty-free products! Magdalena helped me with foundation, powder, lip color, mascara, tinted moisturizer, all of it! Fun experience. My facialist at Joanna Vargas told me to come here for beauty products..

I first came upon credo at the Prince street location. Every visit was always lovely and informational because the staff was SO kind and helpful. So when I moved to Brooklyn and found out there was a location in Williamsburg I was PUMPED. However, that excitement quickly dissipated because of the staff's attitude there. I will not give names, but the first two times the staff made me feel so insignificant and insecure with their attitude that I almost didn't return. I decided to give the location another chance, and I am so glad I did - thanks to Monique and Monique ONLY. I am being very honest when I say, I will base my visits off of this lovely girls schedule from here on out. She made Credo a happy/safe space for me again. Natural products are expensive, and I wish I could buy it all but I am not at a place right now where I can. Also, the amount of information out there can be overwhelming - but she made it all bearable. She worked with me and encouraged me. I know this sounds like I am explaining a self help seminar, but that's how my original credo experience was - so I had high expectations. Anyway, Monique deserves a raise and the other girls need to learn from her. The end.

I recently went to Credo Brooklyn and it was amazing. I did a tata Harper mini facial and a makeup application session with Magdalena. She was super sweet, knowledgeable and knew exactly what I wanted. I have been slowly making the switch to clean beauty and have been ordering online for a while. This was my first time at Credo in person. It certainly didn't disappoint. I absolutely loved the store, the vibe and the experience. I highly recommend this store and you should definitely book with Magdalena!!! Love love love!!

Love Credo! They are so knowledgeable and so many amazing natural products to choose from. Obsessed!
