This wonderful, out of the tourist area, local diner had a real country charm. It was busy, but service flowed smoothly and it was quiet. The prices were low and the portions were huge! This picture is of my, "Twisted Benedict", which was homemade buttermilk biscuits topped scrambled egg, hash browns, and sausage gravy to die for! Side of 4 slices of bacon as well. Whole thing for $15! I could not finish it. My son had the Hash Hound", (he forgot to take a picture). This was 2 eggs, toast and the best corned beef hash he ever had. He also had an incredible maple creamee cone and a piece of raspberry pie, also incredible!

Google
Best breakfast ever! Blueberry pancakes were the very best ever! Comes with real maple syrup! Great coffee too. I also ordered eggs over easy and they were perfectly cooked! Very friendly staff with a homey atmosphere. It is small big fantastic! Who could give them less than a perfect 5? This is hometown Vermont at its best!

First time here - we will be back! Hash is out of this world, sausage gravy is to die for. Love the onion strings too! Not a bad bite the whole meal - everything is homemade and full of love and you can tell!!

Google
I live in middlesex Vt and decided to come down to try their breakfast, needless to say I will be coming back. The half hour drive was worth every bite of their soul food. You can tell the staff puts their heart in to ever aspect of this restaurant. The chef blew my mind with his hash and the fact that he has made everything by scratch tells a tale. Until next time….

Lots of food for a breakfast. Came around here for off-roading and this has been a treat. And yes that is syrup and not whiskey;)

Google
Almost weekly stop for us. Delicious breakfast and fast service. Even when they are at peak busyness they keep everyone moving in. They have gluten free toast (which is phenomenal) and fantastic home fries and scrambled eggs. The staff is very polite and restrooms are super clean. We also get their sandwiches often and those are great too!

Google
We loved it! Definitely our new breakfast go to!! Lily was awesome and very attentive!

Google
The best diner experience we had in the US so far! The food was delicious! The diner was very busy but the two ladies serving did a great job.

Yelp
The food was delicious! We got biscuits and gravy, eggs, french toast, bacon, potatoes, and homemade white toast. It was all so GOOD. Classic diner food that hit the spot. The coffee was delicious! Tia was serving the whole room and she did incredible. She was lovely and helpful. Plus they do the whole QR/apple pay thing for your check which is nice and easy!

Yelp
Great local diner, honest food with reasonable prices. We stopped off to load up on carbs in morning before heading to killington. Good coffee, great service, smaller place Burt tables turned over quickly. Stand outs were their home make corned beef hash, pancakes (blueberry was our favorite) and the big hungry man special.

Yelp
We detoured off 89 on the way back from Smuggs and glad we did. Delicious little local place with a great ambiance and a lovely waitstaff. The drive from 89 is scenic. A worthwhile drive for some great, fresh food.

Yelp
We split a Twisted Benedict and really enjoyed it! The sausage gravy and potatoes were outstanding. The coffee is better-than-your-average diner coffee. And staff are friendly and efficient. It's worth going out of your way for a hearty meal here!

Yelp
The food, the service, the cheesecake. This is a hidden gem that I am glad my wife and I stumble upon. It has everything you could want from a small town diner. Given the choice of anywhere to grab a quick breakfast or lunch, I will always choose Creek House!
google avatar

Ryan J.

Yelp
It's exactly what you want in this kind of restaurant, locals, sweet waitresses, nice portions and good food. Wish I had tried some of the homemade baked goods. The sausage gravy and biscuits was yummy and odd. Most biscuits and gravy use gravy made from the classic breakfast sausage. This gravy tasted more like it was made from Italian sausage. It's all good to me! But definitely would've been a shock to somebody from down south.

Yelp
Sat at the counter. A great place with great people and impossibly great food. The menu is expansive and I can't figure out how that little kitchen can produce so much great food. It's typical roadside Vermont inside. About 8-10 tables and about 8 at the counter. That's it. Locals and Travelers alike seemed to enjoy themselves. We certainly did!

Yelp
This was honestly everything I was looking for and more. I was on my way back from a concert weekend in Stowe and stumbled upon this amazing spot. Tia, was so friendly, attentive and knew the menu like the back of her hand. She clearly steered me through the menu and I ordered an appetizer of fried mushrooms with a ranch dipping sauce and then had the open faced hot turkey with fries, onion straws and Cole slaw. It was such a good experience I am already trying to figure out how to include it in my future travels! Thanks Tia, and the Creek House Diner. You guys made my day .

Yelp
I would highly recommend this unassuming little local diner if you are near the area! Our waitress was absolutely lovely, friendly and helpful, and all of the food my family tried was delicious -- especially their breakfast potatoes, I don't know what they do to those things to make them so good! It was the perfect morning stop to fuel my family on our Vermont adventures!

Yelp
There is a reason I like diners. And this one is at the top of the list. Absolutely delish. Ask for Angie for your server. Constant smiles and great conversation. Well worth the detour off of 89 on the way to montreal.

Yelp
We were met with friendly and welcoming staff who remained attentive and warm for the entire time we spent eating breakfast. The portions were great and so was the food!

Yelp
Fresh delicious food, amazing service, delightful staff ! Definitely a keeper on our list of great places for breakfast& lunch.

Yelp
Fantastic find! Driving from Rhode Island to Middlebury VT we found this place, and it was just what we wanted. Glad it was open Sunday too! I got the Hash Scramble with homemade white bread and coffee. Real corned beef in the hash and the home fries were great, nicely seasoned & cooked long enough that the onions were caramelized nicely. My guy got the Cajun burger and onion rings. The rings were battered nicely (good ratio). The staff was welcoming and friendly despite being quite busy. 100% would go again.

Yelp
Great little diner! After a long weekend of eating too much, I just had toast and coffee, but I couldn't resist tasting my husband's corned beef hash. It was delicious. Service was great. Coffee was good. We like to support local businesses and they rarely disappoint.

Brigid S.

Yelp
This is place is fabulous. And the service is excellent. We have been there several times. Everyone is accommodating. And the food is super. The prices are good as well. We will be back.

Sean T.

Yelp
An authentic, lovely diner. My pancake aficionado wife remarked that theirs were the best she's ever had. Tia, our server, was attentive and friendly, even with a lunch rush going on. Take her advice on which dishes to order!

Ann Marie M.

Yelp
Tia was amazing !! I had the Texas toast French toast and it was fantastic!! The restaurant was so quaint and clean ! The group we were with had the hash and the biscuits and gravy and it all was fantastic! We actually did a potluck tasting of everything!! Great start to another adventurous day in Vermont! Thank you for eating experience!! Thank you Tia!! YOU ROCK!!

Sheri L.

Yelp
If we could give more than 5* we would! Tia was our fabulous server/entertainer. Corned beef hash - best ever...sausage gravy, Bravo. Nothing was wrong. Thank you for a fabulous start to another beautiful Vermont Day!

Yelp
OMG. What a great little local diner. My friend told me. GET THE HASH! The hash was so good. Homemade and delicious. Desserts tease you as you walk in. Definitely worth finding.

Yelp
From the moment we were seated, the staff made us feel welcome and attended to our needs with warmth and professionalism. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and provided excellent recommendations, ensuring that we had a delightful dining experience. As for the food, it was a welcome surprise. The menu offered a diverse selection of dishes. Homemade bread, omelets overflowing with lots of delicious choices, home fries that did NOT come from a bag and our tables absolute favorite, true corned beef hash made with real corned beef not out of a can and heated up on a grilled. It was absolutely wonderful. We look forward to returning to savor more of the wonderful dishes that this establishment has to offer. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a memorable dining experience that combines exceptional food, superb service, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Yelp
Everything about this place is wonderful! Never disappointed whether it's for breakfast or lunch. Deserts are great as well.

Yelp
We walked in and there were a few tables available. The waitresses were busy helping others but told us we could seat wherever. The server soon came over to get our drink orders and give us menus. We got our drinks quickly and placed our order. We ended up waiting for about 30+ minutes and inquired about our order. Our server mentioned that they had been getting a lot of to go orders and so the kitchen was busy. When I looked around the diner, there almost no one who had food or was eating. Another 10minutes pass and we ask for our food to go as we needed to get back on the road. Our server was very apologetic and said they were down a cook but that our food would be ready in about 5-10min!! Our order was basic, a burger and fries which they charge extra for and a wrap. Having waited almost an hour for the food, I was quite underwhelmed with what we got. It was hot, so had just been cooked but was nothing special at all. Certainly not worth the wait. I'm sure with a full staff and more organization around how to manage to go orders and those eating in, it may have been a different experience.

Yelp
This place is amazing. The food was spectacular and our waitress was so kind to us. I went with a huge group and right away she made us all feel taken care of. Truly amazing homemade and delicious food.

Yelp
Found this gem near our rental. Food was delicious - light fluffy pancakes, perfectly cooked bacon and over easy eggs, and service that set a new high bar. Angie is extraordinary - she is upbeat, joyful, and on her game like nothing I've seen in decades. We left feeling full, satisfied and positively impacted by Angie in a way that carried us happily through the rest of the day. If you are anywhere near Bethel (Killington, Pico) treat yourself to breakfast, lunch or maple ice cream at The Creek House.

Yelp
Such a great place for breakfast, lunch or a maple creemee! Family friendly, my kids love it, it's one of our favorites!

Yelp
1) Service is excellent; 2) Food is delicious; 3) Ambience is charming - you have choice of booth, table or counter. What a sweet diner gem in mid-Vermont. Daily specials today included beef stew, French onion soup. Always a great dessert selection, including pie! Today was strawberry-rhubarb, mixed berry and pecan.

M C.

Yelp
Great place! We Love their breakfast potatoes. They are perfectly seasoned. Today I has the crustless quiche.

Yelp
I never leave reviews, but as I was tossing old receipts from our vacation and came across this receipt from our memorable breakfast, I knew I had to go online. Stopping at The Creek House Diner was spontaneous. We were hungry, the place looked inviting, and the parking lot had a lot of local vehicles. We took a chance and we were super impressed! Not a lot of breakfast spots impress us as we've owned a breakfast restaurant in the past so we are naturally a little picky. Upon entering the cozy diner, we were greeted and served by Angie with the most sweetest and happiest disposition! We ordered Hash Hounds, a Western Omelet, their homemade bread for toast, and coffees and it was some of the best breakfast we've ever had. The hash is by far the best I've ever had. If you are in the area, just stop in. You won't be disappointed! If we ever go back to that area, we will absolutely make it a necessary stop. Thank you Creek House for all of your hard work and dedication. We know how much work it is to do what you do!

Yelp
Excellent food, and the staff was so friendly. We walked in we were tourists who did know the hours and they seated out party of 6 right away, they were closing in1/2 hour. We all had a wide variety of different foods and everything was perfect. Definitely would go back in a heartbeat and hope to tell people I know in the area on vacation to make sure they try it out. Our waitress was the bomb, so friendly and very attentive to our needs.

Yelp
We stopped here for breakfast, which was very delicious and well priced. My husband had the special which was a French toast sandwich with their all meat omelette in the middle of the 2 French toasts. It was a lot and was very good. I got the French toast, which was good but nothing special. I also got a half order of biscuits and gravy which was very good, unique and flavorful. The biscuits and gravy were probably in the top 3-5 that I've ever had at a restaurant, so that's definitely saying something.

Herman F.

Yelp
From top left: biscuits and gravy, Chef's omelette with wheat toast, French toast with tad of confection sugar, another Chef's omelette...

Sabina C.

Yelp
A very bad first experience - we had a blonde server with arm sleeve tattoo who happen to "miss place" our order after waiting there for 45 minutes watching other customers get their food after us. she was a real nasty piece of work and was no pleasant and has the worst customer skills - we ended up walking out.
google avatar

Yelp
Superb old school diner with all the hearty home made classics and great staff. The club sandwich was excellent

Yelp
What a great find for a hot summer day in Vermont. We found this charming roadside diner a few years ago and occasionally choose to use this route going between Boston and the Mad River Valley just so we can stop here. They have killer maple creemees! Creamy, maply, and silky smooth. Pair one with some salty, fried-to-perfection fresh cut fries while sitting at their (new? only saw them for the first time recently) comfy, cozy lounges on the side lawn. And if it is a hot summer day, cruise along route 107 a bit and you're sure to find a swim hole in the White River that added to the maple creemee and fries will make for a perfect afternoon.

Yelp
Great food, great service... Hidden Gem! The steak and eggs were of this world! Best hash I've ever had, hands down!!! Nice cozy family owned restaurant.. We will be back.

Yelp
Just happened to be headed south and I came across this diner. Great people, great food, great feel. Overall I would say it's great. No, not a tony the tiger reference lol.

Yelp
My friends and I have been to the Creek House Diner a few times for meetups. We LOVE diner food , and they have some of the BEST! We were there today 8/3/22 and ate outside under an umbrella table. The food continues to be very good and the service is EXCELLENT! Ginger is such a kind person. Highly recommended, but be patient and be kind. These folks sincerely want to serve their customers

Susan W.

Yelp
Great food today is Seafood's Casserole. Call ahead to make sure we could make it in time. We did in plenty of time.

Chef Ms Andrea E.

Yelp
Horrible service! Waited 30 mins for a table, got seated and an Hour later we asked where our one pancake and 2 sandwiches were. 1 1/2 hrs here and no food. We have a hungry toddler and no regard to getting her a Pancake! Worst service in the state!
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Very cute diner. Food was pretty good. The home fries were a little salty so I ate them with my eggs. The French toast was very good and came with maple syrup. The coffee, not very good. I would skip it and get something good from a coffee shop instead. Prices seemed a little high, but then again, there isn't much around this area. So for the convenience of pretty good food in a relatively rural area I do recommend!

Yelp
Not what I'd rate as a 4-star place ordinarily. If this were in a big city, it'd be a 3. But we were traveling back roads between towns in Vermont and saw this retro-looking diner; figured we might get a decent lunch, and we were right! Nothing fancy, very 20th-century menu items. Reliable for soup, sandwiches, burgers, that kind of thing. My husband had a tuna salad sandwich, I had a chicken salad sandwich, both served with potato chips and lettuce on toasted rye (that was our choice, others available). Decent coffee. Pleasant service by one busy waitress. Nothing to complain about, just a good, simple, hit-the-spot lunch!

Martin W.

Yelp
The Creek House Diner has to be the best place for breakfast and lunch in a 50 mile radius. The food is excellent. Scratch made. Daily specials are awesome. I've been feeding a crew of 12-17 every day and everyone loves the food. I only wish they were open for dinner. Cute place, cozy and a real slice of Vermont. I'm from South Florida up here on business for two years plus, and I have to say, being from an area with cutting edge restaurants, this place is a gem. Marty W

Yelp
What's not to love about this place? The staff is the absolute best anywhere around. I challenge anyone to find a better wait staff than Creek House Diner. Tia and Echo are fun to listen to and talk with even when it is busy which is most of the time as the place has the best food around and best prices to be found in New England. The cozy dining area and bar areas are wonderful. The place is so great that they could triple the space they have and they would still fill the place. Creek House is a staple for central Vermont and the area would be lost without them there. It was devastating when they had to close for Covid and when they closed after a fire all but destroyed the place. Thankfully they were able to come back each time better than before and I don't know how it was possible to be better. We love this place and everyone there.

Yelp
This diner was such a good find. We ordered blueberry pancakes, oatmeal, sausages, coffee, and fresh orange juice and everything was delicious. Highly recommend this diner.

Ashely R.

Yelp
Always great food and great service. The milkshakes are delicious and the food is always hot and fresh. Love stopping in for breakfast or lunch.

Yelp
I feel bad giving this place a low score. I've been here before and it was good then but today.... I feel bad for the 2 waitresses there because they seemed so overwhelmed and were really nice and apologetic, but the 2 stars is for this list below, not for them.... No breakfast, they were out of everything No Pepsi or mt dew No cups No napkins (got one see through one that disintegrated when you look at it) No mozzarella sticks 10 minutes waiting for a table with about 4 out of 10 open. 15 minutes for water and about 1 hour for food. We spent a total of 1.5 hours here for 3 sandwiches. By the time we got our food, it was almost cleared out. Please, don't not visit this place if you're contemplating, unfortunately I was there at a bad time I guess. Try it!

Jodi B.

Yelp
Best fries ever. Hot roast beef sandwich with thick cut real roast beef flavored with nice mix of herbs was yummy. Rachel sandwich was awesome. And the Maple Creamy for dessert is a MUST!!! This cute hometown diner is a treat.

Clyde R.

Yelp
We stopped by the Creek House Diner (for the first time) about 2 PM on a Sunday afternoon. It wasn't busy at that time. The service was quick and friendly. There is a sizable menu and breakfast is served anytime they're open. I had the No. 4 breakfast with eggs, bacon, hash browns and rye toast. Everything was prepared perfectly. The bacon was crisp, the hash browns fresh and tasty and the eggs over medium were just right. The rye toast was marble and tasted homemade. My companion had a sandwich similar to a club sandwich and it was likewise good. The homemade French fries that came with it were excellent. I have nothing negative to say about our experience. Couldn't have been better and the prices were reasonable. The interior was clean, cute and comfortable. Highly recommended.

Yelp
A charming and real diner. I ordered the oatmeal which was old fashioned oats--none of that pasty instant stuff--with real maple syrup, raisins and bananas. My fiance ordered eggs, home fries and toast- also a winner. We loved our breakfast, the diner itself, the country music playing and our super sweet server. Too bad we don't live closer--we were just passing through town.
