Best Restaurants in Wimberley , Texas | Eater Austin

"The Southern comfort food restaurant is a picturesque dining destination situated right along Cypress Creek. The all-day menu includes hearty entrees like grilled pork chops, fish fry sandwiches, and tacos; the nachos come drenched with creamy green chile queso; and, for a bit of fanciness, there are truffle Parmesan fries. The cocktails make use of local spirits, as does the beer and wine lists. Takeout orders can be placed online; there are indoor and outdoor dine-in services." - Nadia Chaudhury

New Southern Cafe Creekhouse to Open in Wimberley Square in July | Eater Austin

"I'm excited about a new all-day restaurant, Creekhouse, opening next to Cypress Creek at 14015 Ranch Road 12 in Wimberley Square in early July. It will serve brunch, lunch, and dinner with a heavy focus on Southern-tinged comfort food—menu items mentioned include hot honey chicken biscuit bites, Creole pork rind nachos, brisket ramen, tacos, and more—and it will offer beer and wine as well as a full bar. The restaurant has a large deck with prime views of the creek and will eventually host live music and community events. Owned by a group of friends who live in Wimberley, Creekhouse's executive chef and culinary director is Mark Grimes, who brings 30 years of restaurant experience in the United States (including Chicago) and Europe. Opening hours are listed as 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday." - Erin Russell

The atmosphere here is amazing. Such a nice view. Food and drinks are good. Service is decent although my wife and mother got passed over and ignored twice at the bar. Some of the servers look like they're in high school. They were out of shrimp and grits and two other items which was a shame. All of our selections came out fresh. The only issue was the ribeye sandwich was a bit chewy but still very tasty. I would definitely recommend this place for later in the year. Not sure if I'd dine on the patio during summer. All in all, worth the stop!

Google
While traveling from Houston to Austin, we detoured into Wimberly and stopped here for dinner based on Google reviews and location. It's a quaint and hip indoor/outdoor restaurant along side a creek set inside a cove that's next to some cute little boutiques. We ordered the Filet Mignon and Ribeye dinner plates and both were very savory dishes, and we'd definitely recommend. Most of all I want to give a shout out to their Manager Zach a very kind young gentleman who made sure our visit was worth it. Thank you Zach for taking great care of us tonight. It is mostly because of you that we will definitely be back again, so please keep up the great service of going above and beyond for your customers. We truly appreciate you! ❤️

Google
Exceptional customer service. The staff accommodated all of our food allergies. However, they were not willing to change up the burger to make it vegetarian (with the fried green tomatoes). The atmosphere was great, everyone in the staff was helpful.

Google
Came in for lunch and the place was buzzing—not an empty table in sight—but service was still really great, we didn’t wait long for anything. Our server was a total gem: kind, menu-savvy, and rocking the kind of smile that makes you instantly feel welcome. Major shoutout to the GM, Josh, who somehow managed to stop by every table (including ours!) to check in. That kind of hands-on leadership is rare and made the whole vibe feel personal. He also recommend the Wimberly Way cocktail and he was spot on because that was so yummy! Now the food—wow. The Charred Shishito Peppers & Okra were smoky, tangy, and absolutely addictive (yes, I begged for extra sauce). My WTX salmon Power Bowl with shrimp on the side was fresh, colorful, and almost too pretty to eat… almost. And the truffle fries? I know you see those- Don’t even think about leaving without them—crispy, cheesy, truffle-y heaven in a basket.

Google
Enjoyed our New Year’s Eve dinner here. Sean was a great server and very knowledgeable. Hostesses were welcoming. Queso was delicious. Will be back next time we’re in Wimberley. Outdoor Patio can be loud with rambunctious kids, but that falls on the parents not the restaurant.

Google
This riverside gem is an absolute must visit! I've seen all the great reviews, and they are absolutely spot on. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted by a fantastic atmosphere, complete with plenty of shade which is perfect for a sunny day. We started with the fresh queso, and it was unbelievably good creamy, flavorful, and clearly made with quality ingredients. Then came the star of the show: the cheeseburger. It was thick, juicy, cooked to perfection, and one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. To top it all off, their mimosas are absolutely delicious, the perfect complement to a leisurely meal by the water. The live music added such a wonderful vibe to the whole experience, making it truly memorable. The service was excellent, attentive without being overbearing. This is the ideal spot for a relaxing meal with friends or family, offering great food, refreshing drinks, and a fantastic ambiance. We will definitely be back!

Google
Best burger I’ve had in Texas. WILDY juicy and a spectacular bun. Incredibly fresh and not ridiculously priced by central tx standards. Would definitely recommend adding tomato. Patio is also beautiful and the hostess brought my food to me out there even though I ordered to go. Lovely spot.

Michelle S.

Google
Cute place. Variety of seating options. Grilled chicken sandwich was good size with delicious french fries. The wedge salad was just a salad with little blue cheese crumbles. Not really a wedge. Marg was tasty in rock glass TX style.

Yelp
Beautiful setting right next to the creek. The largest tree being Big Daddy circa 1949 AD & provides plenty of shade on the outside deck. Started with the fried Brussel sprouts, light crunchy slightly oily, really good. Baby Jem salad with cheddar cheese, bacon, homemade croutons & a light blue cheese dressing was excellent. Also had the fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw, pickles on a brioche bun, delicious. Young man, thas was our waiters( who I can't remember his name )was very friendly, attentive & snapped a couple of pictures of our table. Split all this with the Mrs & both of us were pleasantly satisfied. Will return.

Yelp
Great location - Cypress trees make a forest out side the location. Cafe is clean, lots of seating. Outside seating and live music weekends. We had the salmon and the blackened tacos. The ice tea was instant a let down. The water is city with a good amount of chlorine. Tacos came as three - with a strong apple cider vinegar slaw- fish quality was excellent and cooked through. Avacado slice was fresh and ripe.. good marks for rice and bean

Yelp
Food is tasty, innovative and doesn't take forever and portions are plenty Service is very good and bartender knows her stuff Ambience is nice

Yelp
I've eaten here a few times but last night was a special occasion. We had a party of 8 and reservations. I feel they chose a perfect table with beautiful view. Our waitress seemed a little distressed but attentive. Only complaint is they got the birthday girls order wrong. The food was good though. We tried the truffle fries, trout dip and rainbow carrots with whipped goat cheese. All very good. The shrimp tacos and steak were ok. I still feel this is one of the best restaurants if you are in the square at Wimberly.
google avatar

Melissa G.

Yelp
The truffle fries are heavenly! We had them for dinner on Thursday and liked them so much we stopped back by Sunday and ate more before we left to head home! There were 6 of us and we all stopped for more! That garlic aioli sauce is also amazing! We sat both inside and outside and loved them both. The playlist on Sunday was fantastic too! 1000/10

Susan B.

Yelp
A decent meal, but definitely not the best in Wimberley. Average food with a decent view of the creek. Hibiscus tea was yummy. Hubs had the chicken sandwich and it was good. The restaurant is more of a trendy place to hang. I'm guessing the bar menu is superior to the food menu. It was pretty quiet when we were there, but I can imagine with the garage doors that it gets to hopping on the weekends.

Yelp
Creekhouse takes the cake when it comes to two things: 1. Frozen Margaritas 2. Ambiance The food is also fantastic, featuring a mix of healthy and naughty options ranging from fried chicken to sweet potato power bowls. Personal tips: Their steak is fantastic and can be added to any of the dishes, do it. You won't regret it! The frozen margaritas rotate flavors in the summer. All of them are delicious. Not too sweet, not too tart. Bring a friend to drive you home. Sit outside, even in the summer! The view is great and the space is often shaded which keeps it a bit cooler.

Yelp
I'd say Creekhouse has the best food in Wimberley, but that'd be biased due to it being the only restaurant I've eaten at in the town lol. Needless to say, my friends and I had a great lunch. Our waiter was diligent on checking in with us and we received our food and drinks quickly. My favorite dish was the Wimburrito Bowl. I have no doubt I'll be back when I'm in the area. They have outdoor seating, as well as a bright/ open dining area. Definitely check them out if they're on your radar!

Yelp
We had the best experience last night at Creekhouse. We made a reservation because we heard they would be busy and boy were they! We sat at the bar while waiting for our table and the drinks were delicious. Once we were sat, Kaylee was our server. She was fabulous! She helped me order a surprise dessert for my husband's graduation dinner and was really attentive the whole night. We loved our entrees and our appetizer. They played good music and the bathrooms were super clean! We will 10/10 be back!

Yelp
We were seated quickly. The menu is varied. The drinks were interesting ... I tried the blackberry spritzer. I will say they made an amazing old fashion. The location was beautiful. The day was great weather, so having the large patio doors open was welcome. We decided to go family style .. one trying the grilled chicken sandwich, and the other ordered the southern fried chicken sandwich. Shared! While the taste was good, it was nothing that wow'd me. The bun did not stand up to the contents and quickly dissolved ... my pet peeve when it comes to sandwiches. The truffle fries were basic as well .. most of the flavor fell off on the plate. We had to ask the waitress for water refills. She was not very attentive.

Yelp
The atmosphere was nice very nice views. We might have been there on an off day the ac might have been broken, it was pretty hot in there. We were seated by the window but there were a lot of flies very off putting. We ordered the 3 steaks and ordered them medium rare but they came well done. We sent them back and got them back 20 minutes later. Overall it was ok not anything that makes me want to go back anytime soon.

Mark M.

Yelp
If I had to describe Creekhouse in a word I would say "trendy". The food in my opinion is average as was the price, but nothing stuck out to make me think it's a great value. The location is nice but the parking can be challenging in this downtown area, so keep that in mind when planning a visit. Try it see what you think

Alex C.

Yelp
We had a great time on our babymoon in Wimberly and thoroughly enjoyed creekhouse. The ambiance was nice, the view was amazing. We started with the beets, which were excellent but they were unfortunately out of the goat cheese. We were pretty bummed about that, but they gave us 20% off that item for the disappointment which was so kind. We then got the salmon and the burger. The burger was yummy and we opted for the cucumber salad rather than fries and they were SO GOOD. The salmon dish though was the real star. Both the salmon and the rice/veggie assortment were something I could eat every day and not grow tired of. Absolutely incredible. We then had to finish off the evening with the bread pudding, which was a generous portion for the price and VERY tasty. We would absolutely order all of these items again.

Yelp
This place has so much potential, but our first night there on my wife and I's weekly date night left much to be desired. We ordered an Old Fashioned as a pre-dinner drink, and it was a watered-down drink with crushed ice and tasted very bland. The chairs were very uncomfortable, and there was food on the floor all around our table. They also had the garage doors up, so there were flies everywhere. The food was decent, but the overall experience was just not good. It's a very pretty setting in Wimberly, but the team that is running the place should work harder to create a great dining experience. Bathrooms were also mixed use and very dirty. Won't be coming back for a while.

Yelp
April 17, 2023 Came in from Cedar Park via Galveston Hayden was our waiter; he was good. we sat outside along cypress creek on a beautiful day with birds chirping. We had a glass of Jennifer Renee Chardonnay and Rose; we didn't like either We got the smoked salmon dip that was mixed with marscapone, green onions and capers served with crunchy toasted rye bread. The dip would be way better if the cheese had been on the side
google avatar

Karla B.

Yelp
Why can't you have separate restrooms for men and women? It's disgusting going into your dirty mixed restrooms. The restaurant floor was alsi dirty with food everywhere . The dog that was allowed inside sure enjoyed cleaning the floors. We will not be back!

Yelp
Spent our anniversary weekend in Wimberley and had a couple of places recommended to us for a nice dinner. We were there end of February and like Texas weather it was not cold so they had everything opened up to the outside since they had a guy playing guitar in the patio area. We put our name on the waiting list but found a couple of seats at the bar so decided to sit there since we could hear the music and it was full service at the bar. I ordered the Char Sui Salmon and my wife ordered the Crispy Buttermilk chicken tenders. The Salmon was perfectly cooked and Asian spices and toasted sesame gave it a unique but great taste. I'd never had black rice, it was different but good. The Chicken Tenders were prefect. They were not heavily breaded (almost like a panko breading). We ordered the Banana Foster Break Pudding and it was AMAZING! And when I say AMAZING you have to understand two things in this dessert my wife hates bananas (it's a texture thing) and bread pudding but she ended up eating half. We also had a couple of the Blackberry Spritz drinks. They were great. We tried a couple at other places (Berry Spritz) and they were not the same. I wish I had the receipt to make it at home since we live 4 1/2 hours away it will be a while before we can make it back. The bar staff that night (6-8PM on February 24) were extremely busy but were attentive and we never felt ignored. There were also about 2 or 3 other local couples that were also sitting at the bar having dinner so the bar staff was not just taking care of only drinks. Half of it was also dinner service. Can't wait to come back next time we are in the area!

Yelp
Unbelievable location in the cutest town!!! Loved the view outside, live music, and the restaurant architecture! The food was okay - we had the truffle fries, beet salad and shrimp tacos. I do not recommend the shrimp tacos. Service was very slow over the weekend because they were very busy. I would go back but only get drinks and apps.
google avatar

Maria H.

Yelp
Love the ambience. Drinks are always on point. The food is even better!!! I've had the fish tacos and burgers both were great. Love to visit anytime we are in Wimberley.

H C.

Yelp
Stopped by today because their system would not allow me to make a reservation for 6. The hostess was not friendly and not accommodating. They told us 1.5 to 2 hours and they were not busy. Plenty of open tables. Not a great experience.
google avatar

Shari D.

Yelp
Gorgeous setting. Wonderful service. The truffle parmesan fries were fabulous. I thought the burrito bowl was okay, a bit of a kick to it. My husband's fried chicken sandwich was also okay. I gave it 4 stars for service and ambiance.
google avatar

Yelp
Cocktails for the win! Awesome atmosphere for starters, but the signature drinks make a meal amazing. Highly recommend the carted shishito peppers and okra!!!! Start every meal w it's

Yelp
Loved this place. Very cute and very clean. From the bathrooms to the restaurant. And love all the turf. The grandkids loved playing on it. The decor is beautiful and comfortable. They have picnic tables outside for bigger parties. Love the view of the river. Big long area to sit and face the river too. The food was great too. Had the beet salad and it was very very good. Love all the goat cheese smear on the side of the bowl. Will definitely come back. Their queso and chips went really fast. Couldn't get enough of it

Coco G.

Yelp
Good-- location on the water-- live music and great food. Highly recommend . Hard to find parking though.

Yelp
Tried this awesome food joint on the way back from Deep Eddy. The drinks were fantastic, we were drinking the Wimberley Way mixed drinks, which were VERY tasty!! We had the nachos as a group appetizer and were very flavorful. The grand finale were the Chicken Strips!! Holy cow, VERY good!! The flavor was outstanding! Miguel was our server and was absolutely phenomenal!! To top it off, the ambiance and overall atmosphere was absolutely on point!! Definitely try this restaurant if you are in the Wimberley area!! We even met fellow peeps from NB at the table beside ours and had a great time with them. Probably the only negative on the visit was not even the fault of Creek House was the parking. That's a Wimberley problem. But, that's a great problem to have as that means people are out having fun!! I know we will be back when we come that way from New Braunfels again! https://www.creekhousewtx.com/

Jenny L.

Yelp
Had an amazing dinner here, and it's a beautiful restaurant with great staff. The food was excellent, meats were cooked per what was requested, appetizers were on time, and the server made sure our sodas werent empty. We even had the pleasure of speaking with one of the management staff, (Nick? If I recall correctly??) who personally made sure staff and guests were doing alright during our time there. The service was attentive and the food was amazing- I couldn't be happier and look forward to the next visit!!!
google avatar

Rachel G.

Yelp
My family and I came to town for the eclipse and were recommended to eat here by local mom, Nikki H. After eating at another restaurant down the road the night before, we were impressed with Creekhouse's speed, service, and quality of food. They brought out the children's, food quickly and at a ready-to-go temperature. My husband particularly enjoyed his pork chop. The queso dip was fire! Parking was easy to find and the views of the creek are very nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Girls weekend in Wimberley, and stumbled across this down-to-earth eatery. Unpretentious vibe coupled with excellent farm to table dishes. Wimberley is a very cute old town, yet hip and modern. Reminds me of childhood and the old Malibu Country Mart.
google avatar

Yelp
Our friends made a NYE reservation for 8:15. We weren't seen until 8:45, at which point we were told it was last call for drinks and orders. We wanted desert, but our server didn't mention they wouldn't make it if we didn't put it in with the food so we couldn't even order it. The Mexican martini was to die for and the food was amazing. The patio was a good spot to sit and hang out. Stars are purple based on overall experience and the fact that we got one round of drinks and were rushed to order after not being seen for 30 minutes. In our they shouldn't have accepted an 8:15 reservation for NYE if they planned to close at 9, because we felt semi unwanted after the food came out right at 9. I understand the server wasn't told his section was sat, but it's not like we weren't in a visible spot from anywhere else in the restaurant.

Yelp
I visited Creek House Kitchen and Bar for a short day trip with my husband. Upon arrival we parked in a lot near the restaurant and walked there. The restaurant is really cool. It appears small but you go inside and there is a big open area with seating inside and outside. It was a beautiful day so we chose to sit outside. The view is nice. The trees are tall and provide lots of shade. There was a nice breeze. After being quickly seated our waitress came out and greeted us. She was great with us the entire experience. She came around often to check in on us and make sure we had everything we needed. We started with the Wimbo Nachos. They have tortilla chips, queso, black beans, Mexican crema, pico de gallo, guacamole and salsa. These nachos were fresh and tasty. I liked how the ingredients were spread out all over the Nachos. I ordered the Southern Fried Chicken Sandwich. It's a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich with slaw and pickles. I added avocado slices to it. It also comes with a hot honey sauce but I got it on the side. It came with a choice of fries or a cucumber salad. I got the fries. The sandwich was delicious. The fried chicken in the sandwich reminded me of my Grandma's chicken. It was a big piece of chicken and fried perfectly. It was very crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The slaw, pickles and avocado added some bulk to the sandwich. The fries were good and the perfect side for my sandwich. My husband ordered the grilled pork chop. It came with garlic mashed potatoes and collard greens. The pork chop was flavorful and sweet as it had some jam and sauce on it. Overall a really nice outdoor lunch experience.
google avatar

Glenn K.

Yelp
The beet salad with goat cheese was delicious. The tacos were average. Service was attentive.

Suzanne H.

Yelp
It's been a few years since we've dined in Wimberley as we moved out of the area, but are now back. We were thrilled to find Creekhouse Kitchen! It has a cool, boho vibe and incredible food and service. I had the fish tacos and they were flavorful and filling-3 tacos for $20 wasn't a bad price as it came with a large serving of rice and black beans. Had it been a bit warmer we would have loved to sit on the large patio. We will definitely go back to try dinner and cocktails.

Yelp
Made reservations for a Friday dinner and came away in love with the place. They have a crazy reminder system. I think I received multiple phone calls and texts. It was almost overbearing, but I guess it worked. Started off with the Hummus plate. The hummus was good, but the pita bread fragments were fantastic. It also came with some carrots which were a miss. Imagine taking some rough chunks of the largest, toughest carrot and eating them without skinning. Not my thing, but maybe you like the ruffage. For the entre I went with the Wimburrito bowl with chicken. It was a LOT of tasty food. I thought I was going to OD and definitely wasn't able to finish. But it wasn't for lack of trying. While I couldn't finish the main dinner item, I still had no problem plowing into a dessert. I had the banana foster bread pudding. It was tasty, but just not my thing. Wish there was something else, but I had to try something. Finally, I had the Creekhouse G&T that was good, but the show stealer was the Blackberry Spritz. Finally, some more great places in the Wimberley area. The pro-tip: park at the bank and just walk over.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Stopped in here on a solo shopping day in Wimberley. The weather was perfect so they had all of the doors open. It was beautiful and had such a nice cool breeze. My server Jonathan was absolutely wonderful! He made my day chatting. The wine selection was on point and the food was delicious. It also came out faster than expected, but not in a way that made me question how home made it was. Overall a wonderful experience!
google avatar

Carla D.

Yelp
We had not been here in quite awhile. The menu offerings had been trimmed quite a bit since last time, but we enjoyed the food. My boyfriend liked the fish sandwich with cucumber salad and my salmon filet over black rice and veggies was delicious and generous. It was great to hear the water moving in Cypress Creek again. Service was polite and efficient. A very pleasant environment for a Sunday dinner.

Yelp
Made my way from Canyon Lake to meet up with a friend in Wimberley. We settled on this restaurant's location as we were in the local park here and this was close by; we made our selection because of the photos on their website. Their menus were actually quite plain, no photos to get the appetite whet. I chose the organic roasted baby rainbow carrots; off to the side was a sauce featuring Calabrian Truffle Honey with goat cheese. A great accompaniment to the carrots. Pea shoot greens were scattered on top as a garnish and it was quite delicious. My dish was listed under the appetizers. My dining partner chose the WTX Power Bowl. I was surprised as she doesn't eat out often and when it was served it was an ample size; she ate it all!! It had fresh spinach, quinoa, roasted chickpeas, roasted sweet potatoes, cucumbers/onions marinated, feta cheese, small tomatoes with a dressing of vinaigrette & dill tzatziki (Greek) I indulged in a Hendricks gin and tonic. We went for outdoor seating to enjoy the beautiful day. Our waiter was Sean V who did an excellent job of taking care of us. I will be returning to try other choices on the menu! Hats off to the chef(s) they did an excellent job with the presentation of the food!

Ian K.

Yelp
Really nice restaurant with a great view. Our server was super nice and everything came out quickly. Other than the beet salad, the food and the drinks here are pretty bad. The pork chop was really sweet, the tacos were dry, the fried chicken sandwich was sweet, the fries were mushy.... I could go on.
google avatar

Amber R.

Yelp
What a great lil piece of Texas Hill Country without relying on chicken fried steak to be lovable! Whether the creeks flowin or dry- it's a beautiful spot. We brought our puppy, sat on the patio and had some beautifully curated dishes and drinks. Kind of an unexpected gem! The cocktails are top notch and the flavors were surprising!
google avatar

Jacque M.

Yelp
We loved it here- super cute spot by the river, sun wait staff, good was yummy, drinks were great. Can't believe some of the negative reviews - pretty ridiculous- this place is amazing and the negative reviews are completely stupid

Jewel H.

Yelp
So we ordered two burgers and a chicken sandwich... fries are soggy (not to mention that the portions were not even, one had lots of fries and the other had a small handful) This is the second time my boyfriend has gotten a fried chicken sandwich here with a tiny amount of sauce on it. Super dry. These beef patties look like they were cooked frozen.. raw in the middle on all four. Sucks, won't be coming here again. $54 for some sloppy food that is ruining my appetite. Isn't this place supposed to be super nice? Considering this price??
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Served a nat and my girlfriend a hair in our glasses. Given new drinks in same glasses. Staff was rude about it, only had the parmesan fries witch were decent, but you can get good fries anywhere on the square coming from a local here.

Yelp
Decided to try this place after driving past. The reviews were scary but the place looked promising. Wish I never came here. We were the first to arrive Sunday at 11am for an early lunch. Here's my take: The waitresses are like highschoolers and not very knowledgeable on the menu or cocktails. I thought it was weird there was a bunch of young kids serving. I ordered a Bloody Mary. It tasted like Bloody Mary mixed with a margarita. I asked what was in it and the waitress mentions it was a house made mix but didn't know what else was in it. I sent it back and got the hibiscus margarita which was much better. Our food was terrible. The shishito peppers were so over cooked they were inedible. The peppers were so dehydrated it felt like trying to eat paper and seeds. There was no pepper left. The fried chicken sandwich was disgusting. It's a very simple meal.....The chicken was flavorless, dry and chewy, and the amount of hot honey placed on the bun was a joke. So you couldn't even drown the chicken in sauce and try push through because there was none. The bowl was actually really good however, I added chicken, again, disgusting. It actually make me gag. By then we were ready to leave bc we were so grossed out. We sat for like 15 minutes waiting for our waitress, mind you this was just as they opened, there was only like 5 other tables. She finally came back, I told her the food was gross and she said sorry I'll let "them" know. And proceeded to hand me my full tab. $75 for a disgusting lunch.... No manager ever came over or anything takin off of my tab except the drink I swapped. I really wanted to like this place but again, just another mediocre cafe.

Yelp
Loved the service and ambiance of Creekhouse. Was seated right away and got the Fish Fry Sandwich with fries and it was delicious! Loved and enjoyed the live music outside

Yelp
Overall really great food, including one of the best burgers I've ever had, but you will pay for it (literally). We came to Wimberly as a day trip from the Austin area and walked around the downtown area and were impressed with the sights, but not with the prices. This establishment represents all the best parts of Wimberly, it's charm, people, dedication to their craft; but it also represents the worst part, the prices and cost of living. Would it keep me from coming back? No. The food as mentioned were fantastic but I was a little taken aback that Austin prices were this far out into the hill country (excluding Fredericksburg). As far as what this establishment does right, the food is phenomenal, the ingredients are fresh and show a care for detail. The seating is comfortable and the volume isn't too loud, great live music on the weekends. The creek (hence the name) runs right next to the restaurant. All in all I think we'll be back, but the prices will make us evaluate other options in the future.

Yelp
Great food, great service, reasonable prices. We go on a family trip every year the week after Christmas. We stayed in a VRBO house in Wimberley. It was a great trip as always. We had a great time at Creekhouse. They also had some really good live entertainment. Would definitely go there again.

Yelp
The spicy mule or blue hole was very good. Food was fresh and fast. Our server had only been working for 4 days but was awesome

Yelp
The facility is wonderful. The staff friendly and the setting over the creek is excellent. Parking can be a problem as the parking lot is small for the number of tables. There were several in our party and no one thought the food they ordered was all that great. I had the too tough pork chop. The greens were excellent and the fries were good. The chips and cheese sauce were good. Three of us tried the chicken sandwich and two were sent back as being too tough and overcooked. My wife is a returning guest and ordered the tacos she had before and was disappointed in them as well. The well drinks were good. Maybe it was just an off night in the kitchen but at this price point the value was greatly lacking. There was nothing offensive but there is no compelling reason to return. I give it a 3 overall but if only rating the physical plant and service it would warrant a 5. Food gets at best a 2.

Yelp
I'd give the service, location and drinks four stars. But the food is a solid three. It's okay but not great. We started with the Wimbo Nachos, which would've been really good if they hadn't been lukewarm and soggy (we got more chips to sop up the cheese and beans and they were great - crisp and warm.) I would've preferred it be a queso where you the toppings come in a bowl and then you could dip the warm crispy chips. I got the chicken Tinga tacos -- again, okay I guess, but not extraordinary. My husband got a burger. The fries were pretty good (we asked for extra crispy.) But both of us agreed that our food was about a six out of ten. The Blue Hole (like a Mexican martini) was delicious. He drank beer. Views of Cypress Creek from the deck were lovely. If you're a foodie, go elsewhere. But if you're looking for a place in a great setting, with good ambiance and drinks, by all means pay them a visit.

Yelp
The Brussels spouts were AMAZING. Too many places try to do too much for Brussels, but this place kept it simple, and they came out on top. Great flavor, I could've ate a whole plate of them.
