12 Best Kid-Friendly Restaurants in Philadelphia, According to Eater Editors | Eater Philly

"This come-as-you-are food hall across from the Elkins Park train station sits just outside of Philly. Creekside combines a microbrewery, bar, deli, and pop-up vendors (currently Angie’s Vietnamese Cuisine). Kids can roam around and play free air hockey while parents spread out around big tables with beers from Cheshire Brewing Company. Bonus: Ice cream shop Goat House Creamery and Open Book Bookstore are just across the street." - Ernest Owens

I love this place! Jenn Behind the bar is the best. This has been a safe haven and special home for me on Tuesday nights for the open mic night for so many of me and my friends to meet up. Jenn's an excellent bartender. It's a great place for families, friends, children, and fur babies to pop in and support the local community here. I love Elkins Park!

I have mixed feelings about the food here. No complaints. But nothing to celebrate either. Consider the chicken shawarma wrap. The chicken breast is thin sliced, fresh grilled, with heavy cumin and coriander. It's tucked inside a large flat bread pita with all the normal fixins. It's dressed in that tangy garlicky yogurt/mayo/tahini sauce that kinda sorta approximates the flavor profile of what you'd actually get in a Middle Eastern souq. Every bite tastes fresh, and that's a huge plus that will keep me coming back for more. This is definitely real food--not crap, not frozen, not from a mix or a box. But it's also all under-seasoned and kind of average. If they warmed the bread before wrapping, it would make a huge difference; it would be soft and chewy, with a much-needed steamy tenderness. So, while the food at Creekside makes for a great accompaniment to the micro-brewed beer at Cheshire, you'll want to keep a salt shaker nearby. And order fries. Their fries are always the best part of the meal.

Absolutely terrible. It’s a great space that has struggled to have even a mediocre level of food and drink. Cheshire brewing is abysmal. If you want a ” Pilsner” that has the flavor of a homebrew amber gone awry, this is your place. I’ve been here several times over the few years they’ve been in the space and never had anything I didn’t want to pour down the drain. Even the guest taps are poorly selected.Never again. This evening, I was excited to try the new food vendor. Vietnamese food with some other influences sounded fine. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. I wasn’t expecting traditional pho or bánh mì, but what I got was unacceptable. It was a flavorless mass of thoughtlessly tossed together ingredients. The pickled vegetables had the smallest hint of vinegar and lacked any other flavor whatsoever. The gochujang pork lacked any discernible gochujang flavor. There was also far too much of it, the whole sandwich was so wet, the roll fell apart. There was absolutely no pâté spread to be tasted. The pho was also a train wreck. Buyer beware.

This is a neat place with a cool set-up. It’s kind of an open-space indoor market with various vendors that you can pick from. There’s no table service but you can go order food or drinks from a few different food counters or bars. I got the baba ganoush and Andy hat the falafel.

Nice atmosphere seems like a really cool place to hangout. A friend and I went for breakfast. I don't know what the name of the deli all the way to the right is but they had the nerve to charge $19 for 2 extremely generic breakfast sandwiches, which should never exceed more than $5. It's a small business like this that hurts their own profits. We looked up haven local on Google and we thought they were part of the same umbrella, but turns out they are not. Would of preferred eating haven local breakfast.

The deli here is wonderful with some of the best matzah ball soup around, and excellent Middle Eastern options, especially their dips and platters. Brewery has good mix of beers largely focused on IPAs, with some seasonal guest taps. New Vietnamese restaurant is fantastic, slowly working my way through their menu and have loved everything so far.

Stopped here for a beer after getting off the train at Elkins Park Station. I had a layover wait for my 28 bus. This venue is located right across the street from the train station. The tavern part is supplied by Cheshire Brewery and the bar area is decorated with a Alice in Wonderland theme. Even the beers have Wonderland names. The menu is your typical bar food faire wings burgers steaks wraps etc. It's a great place to watch a sporting event. On the market side there are plenty of tables to sit and eat when you order food. They have table service.

Yelp
Yelp Central has asked me to review this business three times already. Although it appears that it no longer exists in this form, I have not spoken with management to determine it's actual status, and am not in position to notify Yelp of its current circumstances. All I can say is that it appears that the Creek Side Market now consists of three separate businesses: Creek Side Restaurant & Deli, Haven Local and Cheshire Brewery. They share a common dining area and are symbiotic to the extent of trying not to duplicate menus and helping out with products one may not have that are available next door. For example, Haven Local didn't sell hot coffee and directed me to the deli across the room for it, and they were happy to oblige. I also saw a guy with a meal from Haven Local sitting at the Cheshire bar and chowing down while chatting with a woman who appeared to be running the brewery. Why not down a cold one while scarfing down a large Sunday brunch?! So, until the powers that be of this laid back comfort zone decide to update Yelp with their intentions, we can all continue to take advantage of all the goodies being offered there.

Yelp
Reminded me of a pizza shop with beer options. I highly recommend upgrading the food menu to go along with the fun beer selections. Maybe some queen of heart tarts , tea sandwiches , heartcharcuterie board, jabberwocky wings , hatter clam chowder, dodo chicken sandwich, off with the bread salad etc.

Yelp
It's great that they managed to open up with odds against them because of COVID. This place is now my go-to for fresh scallion and veggie cream cheese, produce and deli meats. The sandwiches made at the deli are always delicious and super filling! Lastly, the falafel wrap here is better than any falafel I've had in the city.

Yelp
I had a shawarma wrap from the Creekside Restaurant and Deli. It SO good. There's not really Mediterranean options in this area so I was really excited when they moved in. Great portions and very reasonable price. The staff was so friendly and helpful! I'll definitely be returning!

Yelp
Great little "terminal market " type spot trying to get off the ground. All booths are great. Went to the deli today and sat outside, killer lunch. Im trying to go once a week for something to help support.

Yelp
Love the different vendors, the full deli and all the prepared foods. Also love that there's a microbrewery there!

Yelp
Visited this market for the first time today, and I was highly impressed. Excellent produce, meats, and cheeses by Dave's Backyard Farms, and I was taken aback by the baba ganoush, house made smoked whitefish and salmon salads. There is a large bar in the works, and outdoor seating. It has a warm, inviting atmosphere, and really hits all the marks. They even have beautiful flowers in mason jars, kosher items, and kombucha!
