The Best Haunted and Spooky Bars and Restaurants in Portland, Oregon | Eater Portland

"The name says it all: Hosting an upsetting collection of deeply haunted dolls and paintings, Creepy’s provides the city with Killer Klowns from Outer Space vibes year-round. The bar menu involves cocktails with names like La Bruja and Dark Arts, DJs spin new wave, and projector screen movie nights include cult classics like Phenomena and Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla. Those living with coulrophobia should steer clear." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

6 Unexpected Portland Snacking Experiences

"One of the founders of this singular East Portland dive has said he wanted his customers to have “something to look at at all times.” Indeed, there’s stuff to look at, and then some. Here at Creepy’s, some of the stuff even looks back.  True to its name, Creepy’s puts on an absolute clinic in carnivalesque kitsch. But in a city whose “weirdness” is sometimes overhyped, the peculiarities here are far from performative. Case in point: When it came to decorating the space, the co-owners did little to no purchasing. Their personal collections housed enough odd-lot material to warrant the bar’s title. They overhauled battery-powered tin toys from the 1950s, so that circus monkeys clap and drummer boys drum from behind the bar at sporadic intervals. Velvet portraits of Victorian children with bulging eyes demand a second look you may come to regret. Shoddy taxidermy ranging from a grey fox to a bison head to a six-foot-long peacock lends an air of quietus while hand-painted horror movie posters round out the doom. The crowning achievement (as per Creepy’s stated aim) is a five-foot-tall painting of John Quincy Adams looming over the bar whose plastic eyeballs—hooked to a rotating mechanism behind the canvas—scan the room at a nearly undetectable crawl.  It’s enough to warrant a drink, or five. There are the beer-and-shot specials you’d expect from any dive as well as some standout cocktails including a mint-chocolate Grasshopper (cream-based and topped with brandy), Creepy’s Frozen coffee (made with cold brew and served in classic white-and-blue Greek coffee cups), and the Lift Tickler (gin, elderflower, lime, and cucumber).  If you’ve come with (and maintained) an appetite, the Spicy Chicken Sandwich (fried chicken, hot honey sauce, slaw on sesame bun) and Jersey Breakfast Sandwich (Taylor Pork Roll, fried egg, American cheese on English muffin) are crowd favorites, but shared plates like deep-fried (whole) peanuts, sriracha hush puppies, and good old nachos make the cut as well.  It’s a dedicated love letter to the tawdry and macabre, perfect for horror fans, dark senses of humor, and the general kitsch-adjacent. Check your childhood nightmares at the door." - ATLAS_OBSCURA

14 Outstanding Fried Chicken Sandwiches in Portland | Eater Portland

"True to its name, Creepy’s — the SE Morrison bar with animatronics and beer sweaters — keeps Portland weird with several clown paintings and a John Quincy Adams portrait with randomly moving eyes. Among the highlights on the menu of this eclectic spot is the Hot Breast Sandwich, a piece of thinly-breaded, juicy, white-meat fried chicken with a hint of sweetness from coleslaw and spicy tanginess from hot honey sauce and pickles. Side of fries, slaw, or salad can be added for a couple bucks."

Google
🕷️ Quirky, kitschy, and weird in the best way—Creepy’s is one of those Portland spots that fully embraces its oddball charm. From the vintage dolls and taxidermy to the red lighting and funky jukebox, it feels like drinking inside a haunted thrift store curated by an eccentric aunt. The drinks are solid and affordable, with a few unexpected twists on classics. The bartenders are laid-back, friendly, and fit right into the offbeat vibe of the place. It’s the kind of bar where you can come as you are, sit under a chandelier of baby dolls, and have a genuinely fun, unpretentious night. Bonus: The bathroom alone is worth a visit—don’t be surprised if you hear spooky whispers or find some truly cursed decor. If you love dive bars with personality and a heavy dose of weird, Creepy’s will feel like home. 🖤🍸💀

Google
Fun spot! We sat down in front of the John Quincy Adam’s painting 👀. Service was very friendly and quick. The margarita was excellent and the pickle-tink was… adventurous. Love the atmosphere here. Great music, too!

Google
Loved it here. We had a limited amount of time to grab food before hitting the road and creepys delivered! It's Friday the 13th so we though we'd hit a thematic spot but were impressed with how delicious and fast their food was. Our to-go burgers were delivered to our table before we could finish a beer. They were amazing. We plan to come again despite living out of town. P.S. the spot was crowded but I intentionally tried to take pictures without any other customers in the shot

Google
The staff rocks, the food is delicious (and affordable), and the drinks are fantastic! They have karaoke some nights, so be sure to double-check when that's going on (cuz it can get pretty loud... warning for my fellow introverts 😅), but it's always nice to see people having a good time. Love this place!

Downtown Portland

Google
We went to play pool and saw there actually is no longer a pool table there. But, we had an hour to kill so we sat at the bar and had a drink. Watched as the bartenders busted their butts! They are great servers! The atmosphere was jumping- great music at the right volume and a redish purple tint on everything. Definitely creepy though, as we sat through the TV across from us play Howard the Duck and I stared at a weird monkey.

Molly R.

Google
Walked in to hear the speakers playing The Cult, with the movie 1978 Kiss Meets the Phantom of the Park playing on the television. We were instantly sold on this place. Super fun vibes with macabre tchotchkes and other eerie decor like clowns and spooky dolls. The oil painting with shifting eyes reminded me of Harry Potter meets Sleepy Hollow. The vibe is more chill than scary though. We came for the smash burgers, and were definitely not disappointed! We had the Meaty Single Smashie and the Vegetarian Single Smashie- which was perfect because they were able to easily make it vegan. They were delicious- definitely made Portland’s top 3 smash burgers! And the vegan one could easily pass in flavors and textures as a meat burger. So num! We had a side of waffle fries that were fresh and tasty. For drinks, the La Bruja hit the spot. They have a 2nd room that has a pool table, pinball machines, video games and more seating. There is also covered seating outside. Totally will go back there! Conveniently located in SE Portland.

Google
Bar which is aptly named for the environment. Are you a person who enjoys a macabre atmosphere? Sinister and eerie dolls? Ominous portrait that follows you with its eyes when you least expect it? This would be an option for you! Food is limited towards smash burgers, vegetarian smash burgers, and waffle fries. They were tasty but not a lot of options for sober people.

Google
Great vibes, great drinks, great service. Sonny is a top tier bartender and you should come here just to order a drink from her! Go here for Sonny and stay for the burgers!

Yelp
Atmosphere: Definitely a unique atmosphere with circus and clown-themed decor. It's a dive bar but I like the unique twist on it. Food: Smash burgers are good but on the small side Price: Prices are reasonable. Can get a Rainier if on a budget Service: Adequate Parking: Street parking

Yelp
A unique dive bar with eclectic decors. Lots of paintings and staffed animals. Their menu got some fun-sounding drinks and straightforward burgers, hot dogs, and waffle fries for food. We got the Single and Double Patty Smash Burgers with Waffle Fries. The patties were well-smashed, crispy around the edges but still juicy in the center. The burgers were buttery with soft buns, tasty sauce, and pickles. Everything was well-balanced. Unfortunately, some of our fries were way too salted. However, we got a basket of a new batch that was way better after we mentioned the issue to the staff. Super friendly people. Very casual vibe.

Yelp
Love this place. Maddison was awesome, very friendly and helped me out when my Creepy Shirt got stuck in the vending machine.. The pickletini was a highlight as well as the pinball and photo booths.. Gotta love creepy clowns

Yelp
Where do I even begin with Creepy's?! It was love at first sight We came in on a Thursday around 6:00 pm. There were a few people at the bar when we arrived. We were greeted so warmly by the most incredible bartender. They were attentive, funny, and just a joy to chat with in general. The decor is creepy, spooky, and super friggin cool. I ordered The Pickletini. It was what pickle dreams are made of. It was the perfect combo of everything and the pickle was a delish addition. Not to mention that Pickletini and that smashburger are the most top tier combo I've ever had. The smashburger blew my expectations out of the water. I added caramelized onions and it was so elite. The meat was tender and flavorful. The sauce was soooo delish and added the perfect balance. I added waffle fries and they were hands down best I've ever had. I keep dreaming about them. We have already made the decision that creepys will be our happy hour date night as they have a cocktail & smashburgie for $10! What a deal! Prices were great for how incredible the service was and the quality of the food and drinks! Parking was a breeze for us, it's mostly street parking but plenty of spots were open when we went around 6 pm. I truly can't recommend Creepy's enough!!
google avatar

Hannah W.

Yelp
How can one not love Creepy's! Guaranteed to have a good time! Do yourself a favor and order a smash burger, you won't be disappointed!
google avatar

Gina T.

Yelp
This definitely not a "clown car" but a dive bar with and eclectic collection of creepy toys and art. The staff was friendly and fun to chat with. I enjoyed sitting at the bar and looking at the collection of decorations. We got their smash burgers and WOW they were so good! Not just because it was a late night meal. I didn't have high expectations going in but was really excited about how good they were. My group and I were all really impressed with how good they were.
google avatar

Veronica F.

Yelp
Loved this spot. Came on a Sunday looked like a slow night, wasn't busy. The decor in here is pretty cool, loved all the clown pictures all over some aren't clowns, even the bathroom has cool graffiti lol. Amazing drinks, I guess they have food but I didn't checked that out, maybe next time.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
I'm going to be honest. I don't remember everything about this place because we ended up here after hitting a few bars in the area. The food came out fast and it was HOT. I know this because I burned my finger on the waffle fries. The bartender was super cool. The decor is in fact creepy.
google avatar

Kiley Corrina V.

Yelp
Bartender was very attentive! It looked like it was just her and someone back in the kitchen but she was on top of keeping everything clean and everyone's glasses full. We had a short Red Bull vodka/a tall whiskey soda, two green tea shots and a pickletini for 35 bucks, so I'd say they're definitely not overpriced compared to some spots in pdx. The bathroom was a bit odd, very tiny, wet floor, dark, fit the theme but I didn't like it, it felt dirty even though it wasn't (IYKYK). I'd definitely come back, they have a back area with a pool table which could be fun!
google avatar

Holly T.

Yelp
Los Burgers has been on my husband's list for awhile. It's inside Creepy's. Creepy's is a fun place with lots of clowns and other creepy things. It's pretty dark inside too. It wasn't too busy when we got there, so the wait wasn't too long. We both ordered the special... a smash burger with Oaxaca cheese and some sauce that I can't remember right now. We also got one side of fries to share. They split the side of fries for us, and it was a large order. Plenty of fries. Salty but tasty. The burger was very crispy throughout, which I liked. My husband didn't love that the entire patty was crispy though. I thought the flavor was great. Overall, it was a solid choice.
google avatar

Tara B.

Yelp
This is a great small neighborhood bar. We loved the decor and if you pay attention you will see some of the toys moving. They have local beers on tap and a full bar with some special cocktails. For food they have partnered with the place next door for burgers and fries. We would go back for the atmosphere.
google avatar

Bruno B.

Yelp
I kinda love Creepy's. The decor is super fun, they hew tightly to their goth/new wave playlist, and there's a pool table and pinball. If it were in my neighborhood I'd be a regular.
google avatar

Jennifer M.

Yelp
Oh Creepy's....how I love thee? Went in on Sunday just after it had opened with a couple girlfriends who had never been there. As soon as you walk into Creepy's you are in a chill sensory overload...if that makes sense. There are SO many creepy toys behind the bar. My fav is the fish a$$holes can. There is a large painting of an older gent WHOSE EYES FOLLOW YOU!! There is always a movie playing on the TV. The movie that was playing my first visit was "She-Devils On Wheels" from 1968. A classic. Sarah was the bartender that day and she was WONDERFUL. I ordered The Pickletini (which was not too shabby), my one friend ordered a Beer, and my other friend asked Sarah to surprise her with a vodka drink. Sarah asked her a few questions to decide what to make for her. She walked away and started creating. We all jokingly said...Oh I am sure that you hate when customers ask you to surprise them! She said with all seriousness that she LOVED and MAN did she knock it out of the park. It was a BEAUTIFUL pink drink. At first glance I thought Oh I wouldn't like that because it looked too sweet for me. I had one sip and I was in love with this drink! I finished my Pickletini and had to have one of Sarah's Pink Drink. PLEASE PUT THIS DRINK ON THE MENU!!! I can't wait to come back and share Creepy's with more friends!

Yelp
True to the name this bar is CREEPY but it's cute and kitschy. Stopped by here on during my weekend stay in Portland and yeah it was a little weird but if you're into the creepy kitschy thing like me then this is for you! The cocktails are actually made with time and care as a craft and the beer selection had some great local brews! Would definitely recommend for people to check out if you're in Portland and want to do something quintessentially "weird" in Portland.
google avatar

Melvin L.

Yelp
The burger and hot honey waffle fries just riddled my vocabulary to a simple , "WOW". So damn good!
google avatar

Wendy M.

Yelp
Perfectly executed smash burger! The hot honey surprised me and I thought I wouldn't like it but I ended up LOViNG it! Something about it just hits oh so good. The cheese was gooey and melted all over the ridiculously juicy patty. The soft bun soaked up all of the goodness and I can't wait to go back for more burgers
google avatar

D K.

Yelp
Wow, I wasn't expecting a high bar, just a decent burger. Horrible customer service, or lack of from the dark haired bar tender. Ignored multiple times, waited patiently and then she took off and started chatting with a friend. Damn, we really wanted to try this burger spot, but there are so many, so moving on
google avatar

Ken H.

Yelp
Great vibes are on you as soon as you walk in the front door. The smash burgers look amazing. The place could be categorized as underground hipster meets burger place. Very cool!
google avatar

Alicia P.

Yelp
As a clown enthusiast... Creepy's was an amazing bar to find in Portland!! The bartenders were so engaging and friendly. The cocktails were delicious and the ambiance was so festive and fun. The music was the perfect mix of nu-wave, goth, synth, and 80s. Loved everything about this bar!
google avatar

MuccaMack A.

Yelp
I can't remember her name but the new taller bartender with the short red hair is awful. My friends and I have now had two bad experiences with her, the second one being last weekend which is a shame because we've been coming into Creepy's since they opened and all the staff has always been great like Rachael and Kiki (amazing), but I don't know what this new woman's problem is. Both times she completely ignored my friends and I while talking and flirting with some men that came in AFTER us! Then proceeded to be extremely short and cold with us the entire time. It was very uncomfortable. She also proceeded to make some tone deaf racist remarks concerning people of color and at that point my friends and I had to leave. I've tried calling management now twice and haven't been connected with a manager. It's a shame because my friends and I really like this place but do not feel comfortable being there now. This is very upsetting to me because I don't use yelp typically and also work in the service industry but people need to work on being kinder to one another.
google avatar

Helen J.

Yelp
Food was good :) love the waffle fries and the tootsie drink actually tastes like a tootsie which I was kinda surprised by. I liked that it's a themed place and has unique ambience! Burger has nice texture and taste. The worker was very nice and understanding! I accidentally used my old terminated card twice and it didn't go through, I went back the third time after I realized I was using a card I terminated. He was very patient with me!
google avatar

Kodi T.

Yelp
Ordered a rum and coke the other night and it was ... gross. The beer that our friends ordered was also a bit icky. Not sure what was going on. But the atmosphere is always quirky and fun.
google avatar

Dior K.

Yelp
The Happy Hour deal is pretty good, can't go wrong with a strong drink and a good burger. I'm big on texture, and this burger had a good deal of it, a good mix of crispy parts and melty juicy parts. The flavors work together nicely as well. Would recommend.
google avatar

Gabrielle W.

Yelp
Great food. Love the vibe and it really has its own personality. I chose this place for the burger and I was not disappointed. I definitely recommend checking this place out!
google avatar

Jess B.

Yelp
The name is very fitting. All types of creepy dolls and pictures!! It was very cool though. Has a nice dive vibe to it. Pickletini for the win! Amazing drink for pickle lovers. Our bartender was Peyton and she was the best. Such a sweetheart. Fun place!
google avatar

Alicia F.

Yelp
Came to Creepy's after a show at Holocene, it's like a 2-second walk and a great place to spend your night having a drink...or three. The dark, obviously creepy atmosphere was fun! I love a themed bar. There are weird dolls, interesting artwork, and nicknacks, a pool table, pinball machines, perfect conversation starters, or distractions if you don't want to have a conversation. I was so intrigued with the pickle martini, I love pickles so it was a must-try. It was extremely savory but tangy and tasty. I stuck with gin and tonics and chilled tequila for the rest of the night. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were peachy and attentive! The bathrooms were great for a photo opportunity (I love a good bathroom selfie). I just wish they weren't single bathrooms! No bar should have single bathrooms. Someone has too much to drink and bar bathrooms are just not pretty, you know? You know. lol

Kristina C.

Yelp
Creepy's was everything I had hoped for, and more! Was in Portland on a girls trip this last weekend and ended our evening on Sunday here for cocktails. The ambiance was exactly what the name of the bar suggests and the service was top notch. Our bartender (tall redhead) was incredibly knowledgeable about the Portland area and had all kinds of fun suggestions for our next trip to town. We will definitely be back for more incredible drinks and amazing conversation in the future!

Smithers J.

Yelp
We sidled in here at 10:45 on my birthday and we're told Creepys wasn't serving. Bartender wasn't friendly. In fact, I'd say he was a jerk. Won't be back. P.s. you suck. And the bar you want so badly to emulate is called Shortys, in Seattle. That bar, though, is the real deal, and completely crushes your every pathetic attempt at cool.

Nat P.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Love the decorations and the calm vibe. They also played fantastic music. The drinks had a solid taste but still got me buzzed. The blonde bartender lady was mad chill and I like how the pool table is tucked away

Elizabeth E.

Yelp
So much fun! Walked by on our way to Robo Taco & had to stop in. All of their creepy items had been Santaed! Still creepy, but Santa-tastic! Nice!
google avatar

Natasha S.

Yelp
You would think after a certain amount of complaints referencing a single bartender, that a change would be made- apparently not. Came in 4/18/23 7:50pm for Lo's burgers, upon entering my partner excused themselves to the restroom, I walked to the counter to wait for them, the bartender approached asking to ID me and I let her know I was waiting for my partners keys so I could grab my wallet from the car since I thought it was a burger joint not a bar, I said this nicely and laughed because I embarrassed myself, the lady returned with a snarky comment about how I was expecting to pay without my wallet in which I just replied that my partner was paying. She walked away. Even taking our order she seemed annoyed, I guess this all made sense because I looked up to see her drinking on the job behind the counter. She had friends seated at the bar getting a lot of her attention and she seemed happy with, quite unfortunate as it really isn't that hard to treat your customers with the same respect. I added a picture of the amount of salt on the fries, now picture that on my burger patty, my tongue felt like it was burning from the amount of salt on my burger ($12 per double burger, which were pretty small) 1/5 stars because you can't go lower.
google avatar

Jeremy R.

Yelp
I'm back. And UPSET. Would give 0 stars if possible. Really put a damper on my already stinky day. Ordered a very basic burger before my friends and all 3 of them still managed to received theirs before me. I waited for over an hour... the burger never came :( Much like the esthetic of the clowns on the wall, I too was a clown for the evening. Not sure who I personally offended here but I left a very sad and very hungry boy. P.s I'm a veteran.
google avatar

Gayle S.

Yelp
Food menu very minimal consisting of only hamburgers. Not impressed. The environment wasn't "creepy" at all... Bummer!
google avatar

Ally F.

Yelp
This is without a doubt my favorite bar in Portland. I typically order one of their pickley drinks, and enjoy the creepy movies playing in the background.
google avatar

Chaka S.

Yelp
So much fun. Mash burgers, waffle fries and pickle juice back! Good vibes all around.
google avatar

Melinda L.

Yelp
Creepy's bar holds a special place in my heart! My fiancé and I moved to Oregon and would go to Creepy's for a cold beer or delicious margarita and just the vibe was always on point! Fun, eclectic decor and art! Highly recommend and it will always be one of our top 5 stops when we go back to visit!

Rachel N.

Yelp
The best burgers my bf and I have ever had. the ambiance is very unique. If you're scared of dolls don't go here. Super quick service and super nice people. I'd eat them everyday is I could.
google avatar

Kim G.

Yelp
If you are seeking a dive bar with a good happy hour - translation tasty food and decent drinks for prices that make you happy, like $5 pints - Creepy's is your place. HH even goes until 7pm, making me even, well, happier. It's always dark inside even if you arrive while it's light outside, it's just that kind of bar! Loved looking at all the creepy dolls, paintings and 70s Knick-knacks. One wall had a collection of Clown pictures and a random pic of Jesus thrown in. The more you look around, the more you "see" especially the toys on shelves above the bar. Parking is in the street so be prepared to take a few laps or park a block or two away depending on the night.
google avatar

Bridgitte N.

Yelp
This is probably my favorite dive bar to go since it's so close to my place. The happy hour is great here and goes until 7pm. My go to are the nachos, they are such a good value and the perfect amount for 2-3 people. Creepy's is a bit darker on the inside, but it definitely helps with the ambiance and decor of eerie dolls and artwork on the walls. If you come alone or with one other person, I recommend sitting at the bar to get the full experience. You'll feel "eyes" constantly watching you!
google avatar

Carlos C.

Yelp
great place to pick up a hot burger and hot guys 10/10 would recommend

S M.

Yelp
This is how you enjoy Creepy's. Go in, look around for two minutes and leave. Otherwise be prepared for not-go-good drinks (bartender does not even notice there is no "soda/fizz" in the "soda water" thus flat drinks), our four burgers and fries which we picked up as they were walking them out from the kitchen were LUKE WARM at best and when we asked for some salt for the fries I was told, "we don't have any salt". This place is fun to look at but then LEAVE and go enjoy a drink and burger somewhere else. The shame is that we REALLY REALLY wanted to like this place. Once and done for us.

Caitlin R.

Yelp
Cool AF. Had a few drinks and ate across the street at loyal legion. My man wasn't digging the velvet clowns(I was!)
google avatar

Lee G.

Yelp
Had an awesome time with my girlfriend late on a Friday night. TASTY burger & fries till late. Fun decorations and a cute backroom with pool & a pinball. Lots of other young people having their fun. SUCH nice bartenders. Recommend!

Cody F.

Yelp
Fun place for drinks. The burgers look really good but I haven't tried them yet. Creepy vibe, but not too much to only make it a Halloween spot.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
Interesting little bar in downtown portland. The cocktails are pretty decent and it's pretty cozy inside. Started getting busy when we left. The bartender(s) were great and quick
google avatar

Alana R.

Yelp
Creepily bad customer service. The bartenders displayed an indifference and annoyance with customers. Very pretentious. I will admit the drinks and food were pretty good. The ambiance was nice as well. The lack of friendly and welcoming bartenders does not make it feel inclusive for all people.
google avatar

Emily R.

Yelp
What a find! Creepy's is fantastic. I had never been to this place before and assumed it would be kitsch, boy was I wrong. Creepy's was willing to host our podcast launch party which was expecting over 50 people. Not only did they happily accept us, they gave us half the bar and donated swag for our raffle. AND they allowed us to raffle off home made coupons for our guests to exchange for food and drinks, they simply added it to our bill. I had a wonderful time and will definitely go back! Their fried pickles are amazing! Also, try the "Fancy Moscow Mule" it's delish!

Yelp
I was catching up with a friend and we were having a hard time finding a bar that was not dead on a Tuesday, which is a bit weird for Portland. Anyway we sauntered in here randomly as we were walking to the next drinking hole and decided to stay. Rather ironically I had just looked at this place on Yelp and I wasn't sure I was feeling the creepy vibe/clientele, but it's really not that creepy and actually quite cool. Our bartender was great and he poured some fabulous drinks. I had a negroni and a martini. My partner in crime had 2 drinks from the cocktail menu and she was happy too! There are all kinds of things to catch your eye in this place and for me it was the sign on the container directly in front of me...I didn't touch the nuts! Prices are very inexpensive, especially for this area. Atmosphere is kinda dive bar-ish but in a theme. And some of the art is actually kinda cool. I just didn't look at the clowns and creepy dolls hanging from the bar. The customers were varied, all ages and I imagine lots were local to the area given the neighborhood feel of the patrons. I did not have the food but, word on the street from the people around us is that the food is good. Also they have a long HH till 7pm! There is this jug in the middle of the bar that has a slit in the lid with water in it and a little pedestal inside that you are supposed to land a quarter on. If you win I think you get some sort of drink prize or the money inside. We sent probably waaaay too many quarters down the slot and we lost, but it was fun and dumbly entertaining. We probably should have quit $2 sooner. I was initially deterred but I am glad I ventured in here! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
It's Halloween and we were hungry and needed food. I figured I would embrace my fear of clowns and check out Creepy's. We figured there would be a crowd so I went early to grab a table. I got there about 5 PM and there were no patrons which I thought was pretty cool so I couldn't really check it out. This oldie but goodie Johnny Cash music was playing. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it... But tonight for some reason it added to the creepiness. Maybe because Johnny has passed? I don't know! So the barmaid went in the back and I was left alone with Johnny playing and surrounded by clown pictures and creepy dolls. My head was spinning and I could feel the fine hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I started having thoughts of what the creepy dolls and clowns did after the place closed for the night. I imagined them jumping off the shelves and running up and down the bar .... maybe even taking mini shots before they scurried back to their places on the shelves as the morning light came. YIKES!! Thank goodness barmaid appeared from the back and my friends arrived. It was time to check out the menu which was short and interesting. Ordering is to be done at the bar. We ordered up a couple hot breast sandwiches, slaw, deviled eggs, fried pickles and a side salad. No adult beverages because we were driving. By this time there were people trickling in the front door in and out of costume and it was filling up. Our food arrived within 10 minutes which was really fast. The hot breast sandwiches had some sort of hot honey mustard and slaw on them which was absolutely delicious. I also like the fact that they use Draper Valley chicken breasts. The fried pickles came with a wasabi aioli... yummy. And the deviled eggs were divine. The customer service was spot on excellent. Keep in mind it's street parking so you may need to go around the block a couple times to find a spot. I think my fear of clowns is even worse than it was before tonight though.... but I say give it a try.

Yelp
atmosphere is great, especially for their busier spooky season!! (be patient with them!) the initial bartender with very short hair was very kind, but when we went up to get our food / ask questions about our order (which initially got messed up), the other bartender (with the dyed blonde hair and dark roots) was so rude to us and had so much attitude in her responses. there's no reason to make your guests feel like they're stupid for asking about something that the staff messed up on in the first place (not a knock against the staff, just the bartender who had a poor communication style with us). we didn't care about the mess up, the communication style was just so so off putting. while i would go again for a good spooky vibe and good drinks, i would give caution about poor service from that bartender.
