Yelp
We came here on a Saturday morning in late October at around 10:45 am to get breakfast/lunch. We'd never been here before, so we didn't know what to expect, other than R finding out that this place had a good overall Yelp rating. Crema Espresso Gourmet
When we arrived, half of the free parking lot was blocked off and some picnic tables were spaced out in that area. I'm assuming that this area was changed to accommodate the very busy curbside pick up lane, which had a lot of cars lined up. I didn't find any available parking in the remaining parking lot in front of the restaurant, but, luckily, I saw a sign that stated more parking was available behind the restaurant. This was confusing, because the additional parking was actually available in the neighboring parking lot that's for other businesses. We parked behind Crema Espresso Gourmet and walked through the back entrance.
I liked how the entire restaurant was open and seemed welcoming. It was also clean, and I noticed that employees periodically came out to the dining areas to clean the tables. There were a lot of tables and chairs, and they were spaced apart sufficiently from each other. There was also an outside patio, with lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas providing shade.
This place was busy, partly from customers who stayed onsite and dined indoor and outdoor, but most of the customers came through the curbside pick up lane. It looked like some of the customers ordered as they got to the curbside hostess station, but most of the customers appeared to tell the hostess they were there to pick up their orders. The hostess then went inside to retrieve the bagged orders and brought them to the customers' cars. The curbside hostess was very quick and efficient.
R and I stood in a very short line inside at the order counter, where there were display cases of some great looking treats, like mousses, tarts, eclairs, danishes and other items, and there were covered cake plates on the next counter that had cakes, pies, cookies, muffins and other freshly baked goods. Everything looked so good. The employees at the order counter were very quick and efficient, too. I ended up getting Quiche Lorraine, made with turkey bacon. The quiches are homemade with French pie crust served with a side of arugula, grape tomatoes, carrots & balsamic vinaigrette dressing. R ordered the New York Style Smoked Salmon, which was served on toasted plain bagel, cream cheese, red onion, capers, hardboiled egg, lemon and cucumber slices. We waited at a table for our order to be called out and, less than 15 minutes later, we went to the counter to pick up our food. Although our meals were placed into take out containers, we ate inside the restaurant. My salad was very good, but my Quiche Lorraine, although it was good, was a tad firm, not light and fluffy. R said New York Style Smoked Salmon was delicious.
We don't make it to this part of Dunwoody very much, but I enjoyed the overall dining experience. I'd like to try more of the menu items in the future.
