"St. Augustine has plenty of places to enjoy something sweet, but one of the best spots for cakes and baked goods is Creme de la Cocoa. The bakery has amassed a following for its over-the-top decadent cakes. A must-try is the salted caramel crunch cake, which starts as a chocolate cake layered with dark chocolate mousse and salted caramel, topped with chocolate curls and crispy pearls. The chocolate and caramel work well together, with a hint of salt cutting through the richness." - Megan duBois

Our wedding was 6-21-25. We had a destination wedding in Saint Augustine and we did everything over the phone. We sent in the design of the cake and the flavor we wanted and it was beyond our expectations! The cake was beautiful, delicious and exactly the way we wanted it. I would recommended them to anyone that is looking especially if you are having a destination wedding or event. If thank you for making out special day even more special.

Google
We used Creme de la Cocoa for our wedding cake and dessert table and they were amazing! The cake tasting was more than we expected and such a fun part of the planning process. They were very responsive throughout the planning, on time on the day of, had a beautiful display for our cake and desserts, and everything tasted amazing! Can't wait to use them again.

This was my first time visiting the bakery, and I was genuinely impressed. The Snickers treat was absolutely amazing—rich, balanced, and totally addictive. I also tried the flourless Nutella, which was decadent and perfectly textured. The Vergina’s flourless was just fine in comparison, but still enjoyable. Overall, the quality and flavor of the desserts were top-notch. I’ll definitely be back to try more!

Google
We had Creme de la Cocoa make both our wedding cake and truffle favors for our 20 Year Anniversary celebration. Working with them to taste and decide on flavors and design was fun....and yummy! Everything came out perfect! We received so many compliments on how beautiful and delicious the cake was. We will continue to visit Creme de la Cocoa when we are in town to pick up desserts for home as they have a vast amount of options. Photo by Laura Perez

Google
When picking my wedding cake everyone in the St. Augustine area recommended me Crème de la Cocoa and hands down it was the best decision ever!! They brought my vision to life for what I wanted. Even going for the cake tasting was an amazing experience! Bailey helped us with every question and made sure it was the cake we were looking for. My guests throughout the night gave me so many compliments on how much they loved the cake. Please go to them, you will not be disappointed!!!

Wow, talk about "a kid in a candy store" syndrome! I wanted one of each! The coconut macarons in particular are to die for! Extremely friendly and helpful service from the ladies, and an absolute plethora of fabulous pastries, cookies, chocolate truffles, other sweets. You can't go wrong if you need dessert!

The desserts from Crème de la Cocoa were absolutely incredible! Not only were they stunning to look at, but every bite was delicious and full of flavor. Everything was displayed beautifully and added the perfect sweet touch to the event. Can’t wait to work with them again!

Google
Really cute bakery tucked away where I never would have heard of it unless I happened to drive past getting away from traffic! Everything about this place was adorable and the chocolate croissant was incredible flaky *perfection* Other than regular baked goods, they have a bespoke selection of gift shop type goods like wick candles and cake topper candles, cards, artisanal candies/marshmallows, mugs, sodas and ice cream

Yelp
Crème de la Cocoa is an elevated bake shop experience in Saint Augustine. Not only are the baked good delicious, they are art. You may go in with the intention of "just looking" but you'll come out with something. The first time, I purchased the Nutella cookie with crème in the middle. It was amazing, I was tempted to get it again. Then I passed the cake window and saw the Southern Belle. A fantastic creation of thinly chocolate-covered Pecan pie with white chocolate mousse topping. Pecan pie is super sweet, it's why I love it. The addition of the white chocolate mousse balances it perfectly. One of the best desserts I've had. The shop is clean, the displays beautiful and the staff always welcoming and eager to serve. I highly recommend you make the drive just out of town to give this amazing bakery a try.

Yelp
I was driving home from St. Augustine and decided to stop at this dessert shop along the way. It is just north of downtown St Augustine about one mile. The shop is very cute with tons of cookies, cakes, macaroons, and even ice cream. The staff were friendly and patient as I circled the shop a few times before deciding what to buy. Everything looked so good!

Laura A.

Yelp
Made a point to stop by on our way into town for the day on Saturday. Have wanted to visit for a long time, but always end up skipping it because it's on the edge of the old city. Everything looked delicious, the shop was beautiful and service was friendly and fast. It was still very early in the day so we decided to only split a filled cookie. We chose the Nutella chocolate and it was so fantastic. Crispy cookie on the outside, chewy cookie on the inside and the most delicious cream in the middle. Everything they offered looked amazing and we will make a point to return and try more next time.

Yelp
This is one of those places that you may think you'll stop in and only check them out, maybe do a little window shopping, well once you enter this space you ain't leaving emptied handed - there is something for everyone here no matter your taste be it sweet or savory. All my senses immediately went to DEFCON 1, there was no way I was leaving without a bag of goodies - the truffles are amazing (like no other), the cheese cakes in a cup is a must try (my favorite to date "blueberry") on the savory side who could resist the fresh baked crusty croissants (not me). Well I could of spent more time here exploring their offerings but I thought I had purchased a pretty good cross-section of what was on display. The prices here I feel are reasonable, I mean you are buying "edible art", the staff was wonderful and everything is packaged in beautiful containers that will protect whatever you buy until you reach your destination or in my case until the sampling began after I reached my vehicle. If I have any regrets it's that I should have gotten more, but there'll always be a next time because I won't visit the ancient city again without stopping in now that I've discovered where the true treasures lies...

Yelp
Thank you to the owner for making such a positive response to my review. There are companies that lash back and you did not. That goes a long way!!! To those who stop by for a treat...pick up a bar of the chocolate. It is really good. I bought 2 bars for stocking stuffers. It is that good.

Brian M.

Yelp
I love that place! Cheerful people working there ALWAYS! Delicious candies and cookies and pastries! The best! The See's of the East!

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
I finally stopped in this beautiful treat shop. Wonderful service and yummy desserts. Their chocolate chip cookies are perfect! Great texture and taste just like it should! They have little flavor bombs with cute names and boy are they delicious. I will stock up on the salted caramel ones next time. Good macarons too. Decor is wonderful and I love their cute little straw shopping baskets which are also for purchase.

Yelp
Creme de la Cocoa is just north of downtown St. Augustine about one mile. The shop is very cute with tons of cookies, cakes, macaroons, and even ice cream. We do not venture into St. Augustine without stopping by. Typically we get their cookies filled with the most delicious icing you'll ever indulge on. Their Macaroons are the best I've ever had.... Their cakes... OMG!! Go you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Service is always great. The staff that works the counter is helpful and always offering tips answer questions about what is inside a dessert. Loved seeing the new counter seating area. It was really needed given the weather in Florida . But it is super for the tourist who come and want to stay a bit to enjoy their dessert since the shop always offers forks and napkins. This place is just beautiful and fun to be in. Of course the desserts are always changing to match the season which makes it fun for us locals! One of my favs here are the marshmallows and cotton candy!

Yelp
I don't even know where to start my review with Creme' de la cocoa. First off, I have not heard of this place until recently when I was searching for bakeries to do our wedding cake and I'm so glad we went this route. I emailed them in regards to making an appointment and they are quick to respond which I love! They make is super easy to book the appointment and choose what flavors we wanted to try. They charge $5 each flavor you wanted to try and that $5 is sooooo worth it! I was super excited on the day of our cake tasting since I love sweets! Creme de la cocoa is located on the other side of St. Augustine, I will say the calmer part lol they have enough parking spot which is really great for St. Augustine. When you come inside, I was a very happy girl! I think my eyes has hearts everywhere because the moment you step in you will see all the baked goods prepared in the middle of the store. on the corner side you will see their other products that they sell and they did an amazing job putting everything together. I couldn't focus at that moment because I wanted to see everything and try everything!! Employees was very friendly too! Then our tasting happened. We went to their private room which was so cute because they have the display of their cakes! We met Nick, owner and chef of the bakery. He introduced himself and we can tell that he is a wonderful person, then he brought a big tray of our cake sample and I kid you not! I want to have all the flavors lol it was good! all of the cakes was moist and the icing was a perfect combination. He even gave us a sample of their oatmeal cookie sandwich and we ended up ordering that as well for our reception. all in all, our experience here was indeed amazing. yes, it is a little bit pricey but there's a reason why, they are the best! now i wouldn't mind doing the drive to our house to st. augustine because of this bakery! if you are around this area or not this bakery is definitely a must try! they deserve 100x stars!

Sam C.

Yelp
This is my favorite bakery in the area! We love to order all of our cakes from here. They also have cakes in the store to buy other fabulous desserts. The people are friendly and it's close to downtown Saint Augustine.

Marialuisa M.

Yelp
Super cute setup, from the outside to the inside and all around. Desserts galore, Chocolates, brownies, flourless cookies, cheesecakes. Crème de la Cocoa Chocolate & Strawberry Milk for $7. Ice Cream as well. They also had a confectioners area with cotton candy for $6.50, chocolate bars as well, as other sweet treats. I ordered: White Chocolate Rasberry Cheesecake Flourless Chocolate Cookie (filling salted caramel) Snickers Brownie Chocolate Cake Total was about $23 Service: Exceptional the two young ladies were sweet, the one at the cash register was very helpful in answering my questions, and patient as my 8 y/o took a while to decide. Lovely little shop we will be back.

Kathleen B.

Yelp
AMAZING!!!! I honestly wish I had never walked into this amazing little slice of heaven because I am not suppose to eat sugar, but their desserts were so tempting I just couldn't help myself!! The flourless cookie sandwiches and cake was literally out of this world! The cheesecake was perfection and the macaroons couldn't have tasted any better than they did. The young ladies working at the counter were super friendly, nice, and helpful. We came in with a large party of people and they worked together to take all of our orders and get us all of our sweet treats quick and efficiently. The store itself is adorable! Simple and elegant. The don't need overly exaggerated decor because the star of the show is those dessert cases and all of the many decadent desserts on display! I am so thankful we live so far away and this can only be a every now and then sweet treat or I would have a serious problem! If we lived in the area, I would visit this amazing sweet heaven every single day!

Debbie F.

Yelp
You drive by and the dramatic building calls you to stop and see what is going on inside. Cute and formal feel decor enhances the many beautiful desserts in the middle of the building. We selected a couple to share at $8 each, a Key Lime Pie topped with fresh berries and white chocolate and a slice of Bananas Foster cake. Both delicious. All desserts are decorated with toppings that are immaculately placed on each pie, cake and dessert. They truly are edible art and a quality product I would be happy to serve at a event or holiday gathering.

Yelp
On sat they make the best pecan rolls in the world all there other stuff is great too

Jasmin E.

Yelp
It happened right before my "berry" eyes, I may have discovered a new favorite cake place. I've been ordering the wedding cake from a particular place for years. Still a fave no doubt but I decided to take a chance and now I may have found my new jam! Check out the picture to see the Strawberry Shortcake! Oh my sweet goodness!

Erin F.

Yelp
Spectacular bakery and chocolate shop! Wonka-style creations from my dreams! Cookies, treats, chocolate, dessert cups.... AMAZING!

Virna L.

Yelp
Came back here since I was craving some chocolate croissant. I ended up getting the regular, and the almond croissant too. They weren't open yet since I was a few minutes early but they were wonderful enough to let me in and serve. Croissants are made on Fridays and Saturdays ONLY, so I lucked out. I've had a variety of these croissants from grocery kinds, to Costco, to some mom and pop bakeries, and random streets in Paris. The croissant lived up to their gourmet quality reputation. It did NOT disappoint at all. The almond croissant had the almond paste filling from my every bite, roasted sliced almonds were crispy and went well with the airy, crispy outside and chewy inside perfectly buttery baked croissant. Switching over to the chocolate croissant, this too had the dark chocolate evenly distributed filling that you won't miss from every bite. Just imagine that. It was slightly glaze on the outside that made it crispy enough but not the messy kind, and chewy enough to enjoy it with almost a quarter in an inch rich dark chocolate in each bite. This is the first time in years that I've had a croissant moaning after every bite. LoL (true story) If you're the simple croissant type of fellow, the plain croissant also had that buttery taste that was flaky and airy. The size is also bigger in size but a tad dense, making it a filling one. My experience was great from letting me in early, serving it right out of their oven, plus my cravings for it. Seven stars for me on this Saturday morning croissant adventure.

Yelp
Our go to for all celebration cakes. What a lucky find that we came upon this amazing place! We were staying in an Airbnb in uptown St. Augustine and I walked past here one day. Intrigued, I stepped inside to an amazing assortment of pastries and a freezer full of homemade ice cream. Naturally, I had to sample a few items and the rest is history. We ordered a cake from there, then another, and now...we can't go anyplace else. They are very willing to accomodate special requests and are a pleasure to work with. Pick up is quick and easy. I just park in the lot across the street, zip in, zip out, and start imagining how yummy the cake is going to taste. A bonus is the DOS coffee shop is across the street, but that's another review for another day. For Father's Day we had the chocolate mousse but added raspberry jam, and let me tell you it is the picture in Webster's dictionary under "decadence". So rich, chocolatey, but that hint of raspberry just pulls it all together. Going to request double the raspberry next time! If you haven't already, give them a try and see for yourself!

Robyn P.

Yelp
Omg!! Can you say Friday and Saturday chocolate croissants? They are my go to place for b day cakes and breakfast croissants. Best bakery ever! We are soooo lucky to have this place in town. 10 stars!

Aisha M.

Yelp
Love love love this place! It's right before you get into downtown st Augustine! The service is amazing! For my husbands birthday we tried the cookie crush cheese and snickers cheesecake wow! Amazing. I loved them so much I ordered my custom baby shower cake from there with fresh macaroon and dipped gold! This place is a must when you're visiting st Augustine. Parking is right across the street!

Joann D.

Yelp
Delicious pastries. Lots of variety. My favorites are the little mini pies in the cup. Just perfect for a party dessert.

Sandra G.

Yelp
Everything they make is delicious! Try it all and you will not be disappointed. They did my daughters wedding cake and it was beautiful.

Christine R.

Yelp
Helpful service and stunning pastries. We picked 10 pieces to take to a Christmas dinner and the variety was fabulous. You won't be disappointed with anything there. We also chose two boxes of assorted chocolate balls from ginger lime, Florida native, coffee, hazelnut, bourbon to rum balls. All beautifully created and delicious! We will definitely be back.

Shanay H.

Yelp
Always do amazing job and not o ly do everything look good it tastes delicious my favorite bakery.

Tricia S.

Yelp
Great selection on specialty chocolates. The cotton candy is the best you can get and well priced. You can call in your orders ahead of time. There's a couple parking sports in front of the shop and there's also a grassy dirt lot next door which works well for parking. This is a good place if you need some fun gifts.

Jeff M.

Yelp
Thank you so much for making my Wife's 40th Birthday Perfect! She loved the cookies, 2 Pies and 1 cake you made for her. Well she didn't eat it all but they were her favorites and she shared them with everyone. You provided Excellent service and we really appreciate it! We will be stopping by next year when we come to visit again!

Rachelle J.

Yelp
We stopped by Crème de la Cocoa on a trip to St. Augustine. We were really impressed by the variety of gluten free options as my fiancé has celiac. We ordered macarons to take to a dinner party that evening and everyone really enjoyed them. Our order was a little pricier than we were expecting but we would definitely come back.

Miriam K.

Yelp
Listen, had my mother in law pick me up a dozen of these as all I ever hear from them is how delicious they are and how I won't be able to resist them, now full disclaimer, I don't like cookie sandwiches I find them too sweet and over rated but these fluffy, perfect cookies are sheer perfection. The oatmeal cookie is not crunchy but it's perfectly soft and it has the most amazing white filling that's not too sweet and marries perfectly with the oatmeal cookie. Rumor has it, this is the best seller at the store. Now, sadly for me I made it to town later than expected and missed my chance to physically go and select additional sweets but I will plan my December visit with a stop to the store and perhaps order some of their pies in advance.

Crystal O.

Yelp
Oh-My-GOODNESS. We were trying to get to a lunch spot and had to scrap it (road work forced us to go to a different restaurant) and we passed by Creme de la Cocoa on the way and I oh-oh, can we stop there after lunch??? And just so you know, it wasn't a question. It was rhetorical, we are stopping. So after lunch I happily parked and practically skipped through the front door. Bright, clean cases and shelves are stocked full of brownies, cookies, cakes, chocolate bars, rice krispie treats, fudge, macarons, hot cocoa and more. I saw the cookie sandwiches online and the truffles and knew those were both treats I wanted. They make an oatmeal cookie sandwich, like a very over processed food snack you can get at a grocery store from Little Debbie- but fresh, and 110% better. We also opted for the snickerdoodle cookie sandwich- also groan-in-food-pleasure while eating it! For the truffles- there was only one peach old fashioned left- let me grab that one, coconut, dark chocolate mint, Irish coffee, dark chocolate raspberry, bourbon cherry bomb, Florida native & Bourbon ball truffle. I tried that peach old fashioned as soon as we got into the car, while John tore into the cookie sandwiches and we both were trading tasting bites. The bourbon in my peach old fashioned hit on my second bite and John agreed- nice little punch and definitely an old fashioned in a truffle. And those cookies- wow. Another spot I will be back to try more and more. Drooling right now thinking about it and I still have my box o truffles!

Rebecca L.

Yelp
Lately when we have finished up a day in St. Augustine, we make a stop by Crème de la Cocoa and pick up some of their decadent chocolate truffles to take home. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful and of course the truffles are delicious!

Karen V.

Yelp
Wow the quality is outstanding. So many choices and everything is exceptional. They really take pride in their products. The staff were helpful and patient. The place is so cute. Repeat for us! My number one choice for dessert options!!!

Stacy F.

Yelp
Yes. Just yes. SOOOO glad I researched dessert options on Yelp before we left for a short vacation in the area. We have been to St. Augustine many times before, so I was looking for things we haven't done yet and this was a winner we will be back to for sure. There is street parallel parking in front of the location and around the area, and we found no issues with parking close by. We were immediately greeted by an excellent staff member, who helped us through what they had to offer. The location itself is adorable. Hand written chalk signs tell you what's what, and they have a fun little room in the back for showers, parties, meetings, etc. They have a case for cakes / cheesecakes, truffles, and candies. They also offer a variety of pastries and then there is a whole case of ice cream options as well! It was hard to make a choice on just a couple of things...but we went with the truffle cheesecake and four truffles to try out a variety of flavors. We were able to take our treats across the street to Dos, which is a coffee shop, and enjoy them there with some coffee, which was very nice. The cheesecake was to die for, and super rich. Very glad we shared this one! The truffles were a perfect bite sized amount of delicious. Great for trying out a variety. Overall: A++ An excellent new option for us to hit up in St. Augustine during our next visit and a must try for anyone in the area.

Marsha T.

Yelp
OMGOODNESS! Delicious. Delectable. Delightful. Everything is top notch from the staff and service to the incredible desserts. Eat here!

Elizabeth A.

Yelp
I was in a pinch for a last minute birthday cake so I called and reserved two cakes for my daughter's birthday last weekend and they were both absolutely delicious. The salted caramel crunch is a bit more mature flavor (much appreciated by the adults at the party) but the s'mores cake was a big hit with the dozens of 4-6 year olds at the party. You have to get their early because even hours before the shop closes, the cakes will ALL be totally sold out on the weekends!

Jo K.

Yelp
This place and their baked goods are some of the best I've ever had! I don't think you could make a wrong pick! The only difficulty you'll have is deciding which item to choose!

Michelle P.

Yelp
This was a great dessert place near where we stopped for coffee (across the street). They had a variety of dessert choices from cookies to chocolates to cheesecake and macaroons. We shared a few items so I could taste a bunch... Bourbon pecan chocolates - liked these Tiramisu that was good but didn't taste like tiramisu. A snickerdoodle- ok. Macaroons - these were the heroes. Loved these. Try it! See for yourself!

Ali R.

Yelp
Crème de la Cocoa was amazing to work with start to finish! The tasting was fantastic and they were always quick to respond to answer questions and make changes to our proposal. All of their cakes and desserts are delicious! We went with the Florida native flavor for our wedding cake. The cake was simple and beautiful just like we wanted. We also did a second fun cake and went with the salted caramel crunch. They made such a cute and creative rivalry cake. The cakes looked and tasted amazing and were a huge hit at our wedding. Thank you Crème de la Cocoa!

Deanna W.

Yelp
Amazing customer service and pastries, and desserts. One of my favorite places. For Thanksgiving and Christmas this year we brought 3 of their signature desserts and oh my they were so delicious that I was speechless which is rare for me .

Pam W.

Yelp
Doesn't get any better! I haven't had a desert yet that I didn't love from here. I also order all my holiday pies from here

Laramie R.

Yelp
This place is like Heaven. The cake cups were delicious. I had the white chocolate raspberry and my son had the cookies and cream. We also purchased a vanilla birthday cake. It was anything but ordinary. I loved every thing from this place, especially the service. We will be back

Katie O.

Yelp
If you're visiting Saint Augustine, it's worth the drive uptown to grab pastries here. They have a great selection of things in their case including macarons, brownies, cookie, and chocolate truffles, etc. What's surprising is that every single thing is done exceptionally well - these are all very different desserts that require different skills, but they're all superb. I'm not sure how often you find the same things as I did this week, but try the snickers brownie, oatmeal cream pie, fruity pebbles macaron, and all the chocolate truffles. If I had to narrow down to just my favorite category, I'd say the chocolates were my fav. So beautiful and inventive. When you come into the shop, the cases are in a square that you walk all the way around. The folks that work there stand in the middle of the cases and follow your lead as you point to each item you'd like. The service is great and pretty fast considering all the whims they bend to (in a good way). The inside is pretty plain, but has some seating so you can definitely eat there!

Adria D.

Yelp
Stopped on our way out of town and this little place is amazing. The almond Croissant was the best !! My only regret was not getting more goodies to take home.

Sage K.

Yelp
Beautiful desserts! Staff was helpful and kind. Would definitely recommend for cakes and fancier bakery desserts

Stacy J.

Yelp
I'm giving it a 4 because you can't go inside ...I had to order remotely from my phone.....and to me....I want to see the products and smell that chocolate!! I got a gluten free double chocolate salted cookie! Actually 2. They were delicious!! I probably would have bought so much more if I could have went in. Maybe that was a benefit to my waistline!!

Laurel M.

Yelp
The best desserts! So yummy - we always order out holiday treats from Creme de la Cocoa

Craig R.

Yelp
Really great cakes! Have had three flavors (Florida, Chocolate/Raspberry and Coconut) and each each was great!

Leese M.

Yelp
It's like Alice in wonderland for all those with a sweet tooth. They have macarons, truffles, cakes, pastries and ice cream. The key lime pie is very good. What we really loved was the little ice cream cup with vanilla and chocolate ice cream and cake pieces inside. Soooo yummy.

Charles S.

Yelp
Awesome, was looking for a bakery in St. Augustine. Got the pecan sticky bun and coffee. Sticky bun was still warm from the oven. Going back next. Second week in a row, warm out of the oven sticky buns. Awesome, I wish they opened earlier than 10am.
