I took a recommendation from one of the owners and tried the lux-bowl with spicy rice. When I sat down to eat, I opened the absolutely loaded container to see tons of protein, veggies, and some sauce. Got a 1/4 through it when I remembered the rice and started to dig down. Pow! More flavor and spice! Love it! I love spicy food and this was hitting! If you can't take the heat, stick with the white rice. Saved half and heated it up later and mixed it well this time. Eaten mixed it's much more like a traditional creole jambalaya. Still great as leftovers.
The SECOND DAY (yes, a 2nd day!) I was lucky enough to catch on Mother's Day brunch and the Crawfish Etouffee. The other owner was happy to see me back and asked if I liked savory grits. I've had others in the past, but I hate to say yes to all grits because there is a spectrum from gag to amazing. She gave me a sample and one bite in and I was all for 'em. They handed me this delicious bowl of crawfish etouffee over savory grits that was full of shrimp, crawfish, and a great ratio of etouffee and grits. Bangin' lunch!
Lots of food for the money and worth every penny. I only wished I worked in the area more often because these people are immediate friends and make excellent food.
My only recommendation would be to make the crawfish etouffee exclusively crawfish and to include a great garlic bread.
