Creole on 14th

Went here for Valentines Day, and it was nice. The food and service were great! With the exception, they forgot to bring out my mac n cheese, and I had to wait a while. Made reservations and was able to be seated right away. Our waiter did a great job with service. The kitchen was a little slow or busy, but everything we ordered was good and very plentiful. Will definitely be returning for brunch and to eat outdoors. 10/10

We came while visiting from out of town based on menu for my birthday dinner. It was easy to make a reservation through Resy. The reservation information stated this is an upscale establishment and no hats or sporty clothing allowed, only upscale attire. You guys, this place is not in a nice area and it is basically a nightclub. The other people eating there were not even dressed up enough to be outside of the house, let alone “upscale”. People were making out at their tables. All the photos of the food came out red because there are colored flashing lights and music pumping. We only heard drake songs the entire time we were there. Overall an unsavory atmosphere. The food tasted home cooked, which is nice. I enjoyed the shrimp appetizer, crab cake appetizer over sautéed spinach and veggies, and the seafood Mac was good. Watch out for charges not mentioned on the menu or by the server when ordering (“entree with your choice of two sides,” then charged extra for the sides). Our server was nice, and attentive. If you are expecting upscale, run. Otherwise, the food is good but the pricing doesn’t match the true value of dining here overall, in my opinion.

Our reservation was for 3pm but it was so unorganized in this establishment that we didn’t even get seated until after 4pm. So we were waiting for over an hour. When we first arrived there wasn’t anyone at the front to check us in. The music and atmosphere is definitely turnt up, like I was at the club. Wasn’t expecting that. Literally a Breakfast Club! They must have sound proof windows because I didn’t hear anything when I was coming in from outside. The waitress that took our order was great! She was very accommodating although, There was a group that was seated before us despite arriving wayyy after us because they were so disorganized. I ordered the lamb chops with potatoes and egg white. The egg whites weren’t seasoned with a little salt and pepper and the lamb chops were okay I would rank 6.5/10, the potatoes were the best thing on the entree. My friend ordered the wings appetizer and i didn’t try them because the wings were so fat and big, ( I prefer smaller wings) overall I believe the atmosphere is what attracts people. Lastly I paid about $85 for my meal. I would return to double check the service here, because it’s hard to ignore a wait time of over an 1hr half even after making reservations, this is ridiculous. Maybe it’s because it was at 3pm.

Service: OUTSTANDING. Brook made my 1st time here enjoyable. She was very personable and sweet. Music was on point. So atmosphere was very nice. Now for food… Mimosas were warm and not chilled at all. They put gravy on everything. Shrimp and grits- I need the chef to call me…. Not good. Grits were cold and hard. Gravy was awful. Taste like flour with Cajun seasoning thrown on top. Shrimp over cooked and not fresh but frozen. I sub for lamp chops. They were good but why put gravy on it? It needed something acidic. I asked for eggs scrambled soft with cheese. I got hard eggs with cheese thrown on top. Not worth the 84.53 price tag at all. I know way better Brunch spots that are less than 50 and the food is way better prepared. Call me I’ll help you!

I enjoyed all the food. The crab cakes were seasoned very well. When they were served to us they weren't hot enough. That's my only concern. The shrimp and grits were on point. The grits made with gouda cheese was too good. The Creole Mac and cheese is the best side dish one could have. Also the Creole rice was perfect. Overall the service and atmosphere was 5 stars

There’s definitely mixed feelings about this place. The vibe is really the best part about it. The DJ had us feeling every song but the food was just okay. The chargrilled oysters were a bit bland and the omelette was decent, it wasn’t as cheesy as I thought it would be. The bayou egg rolls and friend green tomatoes were the best part! It’s not pictured here, but the French toast was a 10/10 - would recommend! I would come back and try the dinner menu to see what it’s hitting for.

I live up the street and had to check this spot out ! I was greeted by a beautiful and friendly host(Nadia) and was taken care of by Tyler. He was amazing. Knew the menu like he wrote it, great recommendation and he check on me throughout my meal. First I had the fried green tomatoes followed by the jambalaya, it was delicious! And I finished with a little Bread pudding one of my favorite desserts out there! Thank you Tyler, Nadia and Creole on 14th for having me. - only critique was There could have been more Shrimp in Jambalaya, more sauce on the fried green tomatoes and the ice cream was ok. -also I personally asked for the rice to be separate from the sauce for the jambalaya but it would come on top for anyone wanting it that way!

I recently dined at Creole, and I have to say, the service was exceptional. The staff was incredibly patient and friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. The majority of my party was over 30 minutes late, and my anxiety was through the roof. However, after informing the restaurant, they assured us that our table would still be available upon arrival, which greatly relieved me. On top of that, the service was fast without compromising on quality. The food was absolutely delicious, full of flavor, and tasted like Grandma’s cooking. The drinks? Outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience. Five out of five stars!

My friend and I went here on a Sunday for brunch because it was recommend by a coworker of hers. When we arrived, we didn't realize there was going to be a DJ as well, which was cool because of course, it's DC, so it wasn't farfetched. Initially, we were a bit frustrated because we waited for our waitress for nearly 20 mins before being greeted with a menu or anything. My friend had to walk and request service, but she was very apologetic and friendly, and immediately turned the service around. I try to give people an opportunity to rectify a situation because business is crazy but help is short, and since she was pleasant, we were good with that. On to the food: She ordered the mussels which were really good, but a bit salty for her liking, so I kindly helped her put them down lol I ordered the seafood deviled eggs which were ok. I think they were a little bland. They were topped with crab meat, but nothing to really brag about. She had the lamb chops which practically melted in "our" mouths (because of course we shared. And I had the Ribeye cooked medium to perfection which also bursted with seasons of flavor. The proteins came with breakfast potatoes and eggs but it was so much food so we had to wrap it up to go. The brunch meal also came with bottomless mimosas and 2 flavor a of juices to choose from with a two-hr seating limit. Overall, it was a decent experience, the food was good, and the atmosphere was a pretty standard DC brunch vibe.

Brunch is really a vibe here and I hope you come hungry! The portions are truly out of this world and the food was very tasty! I also love how oysters Rockefeller were on the app menu. The set up is very similar to Ben'S Next door, and it can get a bit loud. I would put this on the "party brunch" side of the spectrum as you get later into the afternoon. So if you come to talk or catch up, you will definitely need a table closer to the door. Basically for around 65$ you get to choose items from Different sections of the menu, an app and an entree, and then you also get bottomless mimosas for the brunch package. The service is pretty quick but it might depend on the time you come in as well. All the servers and bartenders were nice and polite, it was just a tiny bit disorganized with getting seated and finding the reservation. Which is more like an operations thing, because I still didn't wait more than 2 minutes and they allowed me to sit where I wanted! Now back to the food! Big portions, flavors were good as well - I really liked the Rockefeller oysters because not only were they big- they had so much good creamy, garlicky, spinach seasoning! The French toast, grits, and eggs were great as well! I love finding grits for brunch in DX! The grits are Gouda based, which were well mixed and added a nice hit of melty, salty/sweet goodness. Oh, parking can be a big hassle in this area so Uber if you can! I would definitely go with friends to start a Harry Sunday Funday!

My family and I went the Creole on 14th after a pageant and it was a good meal. We were greeted by the host and brought to our seats. The location wasn't crowded so I would love to go back again to experience it. It seems like it would be a great night time vibe. We ordered the lamb chops, crab claws, salmon, crab cakes, crab fries and it was all delicious! If you're looking to try some tasty food with a nice atmosphere I'd recommend.

We did the bottomless brunch, which for the amount of food you get is definitely worth it. The bayou rolls were my favorite & by the time the chicken and waffles came - I was full. But they were okay too, nothing spectacular or wow'ing. The drinks are good, but also overpriced it feels. The service was fine, no complaints and the overall aesthetic of the restaurant was cool. Music was on and poppin' (a little too loud for my liking - lol bc I could barely hear anyone sitting next to or across from me...) overall, I think this place is worth a try especially if you're celebrating something.

Met a couple friends for "linner" (late lunch/early dinner) one afternoon. We found a parking space directly outside the door and 3 seats together at the bar. The server was attentive and we were helped rather quickly. We ordered several drinks before the food so we were ravished by the time it arrived. We ordered the crab claws, Ox Tail Stew, Creole Fried Rice and the Creole Ribeye (not pictured). Everything was a bit salty but since we were tipsy and hungry, it worked. The food was good and helped soak up the drinks we had but nothing truly stood out and everything is a bit pricey for the quantities. We had a great time with each other but it was mainly because of our energy.

One thing about DC, the parking is going to SUCK. Arriving to this location (on a Friday evening) was terrible. At least 15+ minutes of driving before I just parked at the surrounding Giant and walked to Creole. It was roughly a 5 minute walk, nothing major unless the weather is in question and you have on some heels, for my ladies. Anyway, this atmosphere inside is super cute. I visited this for a friends birthday and our table of 6 had a nice section, in the front of the restaurant. The table loved their oysters and their Hennessy wings. Their mussels also, were to die for. So so good with the butter and bread that they provide, very New Orleans/Creole styled. I would love to visit again. Just this time - with someone else driving.

I'm sad to see they closed. Amazing food. The devil eggs were awesome. Catfish nice & crispy. The creole sauce was EVERYTHING. Was looking forward to going back hopefully they have future plans for a bigger location. Servers were ok no complaints mostly young, great drinks .

Food was good. Catfish & Grits were tasty. (It warms up good) The honey hot wings were average. The waiter pushed the Peach Bellini & Creole Punch mimosas on us then said after we finish we could order a different flavor per management. The champagne in the mimosas were flat. No DJ but they were playing music. FYI.. As of October, restaurants in DC can tax tips.

Food- Descent menu items, with a variety of options. My catfish looked more like a fried chicken breast lol, but it was still good. The portion size of the spinach could be a little more. Not pictured is the cornbread, which was great; my friend and I split a piece and it tasted like pound cake almost. Service- My food came out incorrect, the server gave me catfish and spinach as the mac & cheese was preparing. I did have to wait a little bit for the mac & cheese because I wanted a pic for my yelp/social media. Our server was really nice and attentive as well. Ambiance- OH MY GOD! The speakers in our section kept going in/out the entire time there, it was nerve wrecking. They have a nice playlist, just please fix the sound system lol.

The place was not extremely busy and we stood up at the front waiting for someone to come and greet us. The people at the bar just kept looking at us, didn't say anything and didn't go get anyone to come to the front. We were really tempted to leave but decided to just get appetizers. We got fried green tomatoes and creole wings with hot bourbon flavor. I would not suggest coming here at all. This is probably the worst service that I have had since we have been in the DC area. They are not attentive and will have you waiting as long as they want you too. They don't care about the customers.

Honestly, I don't need EVERY spot to have hookah and a loud ass DJ. I've come to Creole a few times and I truly don't have desire to go back. The food is okay but I think there's better in the DMV. They tend to overbook reservations and sometimes brunch can get chaotic. If you're looking for a day party vibe with brunch and you're in your early to mid-20s, then you could definitely tryout this spot.

The food there was mediocre. I got the shrimp and grits. The flavor was great but the food came out cold and the grits were hard and clumpy. They weren't creamy at all. The service wasn't that great. The server checked on us frequently but he had a terrible attitude, he was not friendly, and he acted like he didn't want to be there. The ambiance felt like a lounge/club environment. The music was great, but a little too loud. It was hard hearing the person beside me. There were a lot of birthday parties which made it a joyous and fun environment.

Great food , nice vibes and you may catch a good fight drinks are sooooo good. The shrimp and bread appetizer was bomb ! I had to run that back.

So me n my friends went for Sunday brunch for my birthday! I'm so happy we got there early with reservations because the line ended up out the door after 2pm. Pros:Our waitress was kool, appetizers and mimosas came out quickly, the Bayou rolls 10/10! Would order again! Music was decent, where we sat we could still hear ourselves but it was louder in the back of the restaurant. Cons: the mimosas were warm we had to ask for ice to chill it. No air if you sit by the door, Entrees take awhile to come out, devil eggs was 2/10 we had a shells on a few of the eggs! BEWARE! They charge us a ENVIRONMENTAL FEE! Which was $100!! Which we found out didn't even include the waitress tip!! Like WTH is that and why?!!! So in the end our $$65 brunch cost us over $600 for 7 people! There is no $65 brunch it's actually $90 a person with that environmental fee! There nothing Creole about this place just the name!

I attended brunch here with a girlfriend for her birthday celebration. She made reservations for a large party & they accommodated the size. If this rating were specifically for the food, it would be four stars, but the service, organization & wait times were off-putting. They give large parties 2 hours to eat, but with the service, there was no way to order, receive, and eat due to the time it took everyone to get served. It is understandable that they don't split checks, so I recommend cash for large parties. A highlight was the DJ. He kept us entertained & dancing the entire afternoon. If I could make any changes to better the business, I would say: 1. for large parties, payments should be required before eating, primarily because unlimited mimosa costs $65 regardless. If additional food or drinks are ordered, open up a tab. That way, all revenue is tracked PP, not per table. 2. Two servers should be responsible for parties of 8 or more, not for a section of over 50 people. This was a reason why the service & wait times were lacking. 3. The location is small; understand reservations for the day & set up accordingly. If you can't fit everyone, cushion reservations so there is time to collect the check, clean up the space, and seat other tables. We were shuffling sideways, waiting for food to be served, and not bothering to get up because we were boxed in. Overall, I'd eat here again on a day that is not as busy because the food was good.

I've always been a HUGE fan of their seafood Mac & cheese but my last visit was by far the most amazing experience I've had and Creole on 14th is now my favorite restaurant in the DMV! I started with their oysters Rockefeller & the server made me the most amazing drink from their happy hour menu. I think it was called the bayou punch or something like that. I then had their oxtail stew, cornbread, & seafood Mac & oh my lord. To DIE for! I live in northern VA so I'm not in DC weekly but I will definitely make a trip here at least once a month! Keep up the good work!

We had a great time last night at Creole. This was our first time coming and I was able to make a reservation the day before for 8pm. It's a good thing we did because they get busy and packed. There was a large birthday party near where we were seated but it didn't take away from our service. Our server was Dallas and she was very nice and attentive. We got 2 drinks each and they were out of one for me, but the boo-coo passion was very nice and spicy how I like it. They didn't have anymore sweet tea, so I could the bourbon street peach. My friend got the twisted storm and miss Nola. She liked them both and I enjoyed mine. We did the deviled eggs with crab as an appetizer and they were the best I've had at a restaurant. My catfish dinner with creole fried rice and sauteed spinach was delicious. Catfish seasoned nicely and didn't need the sauce. Spinach seasoned well too and the rice was so good. My friend got a burger and upgraded to crab fries that were so good. It can get a little loud as the night goes on but the music was good and the space is very nice. The boots are comfortable as well and they put the QR code for the menu on the tables.

A lively restaurant on 14th street that serves massive portions and good fun and drinks. Tried this restaurant as our first choice was too crowded. Walking in on a Saturday night in July we were quickly able to be seated-Yay! Inside the decor was high ceilings with black ceiling tiles with white walls and the faux grass wall coverings that are popular nowadays. There's a photographer that walks around taking pictures. Not sure how much he charges as he didn't stop at our table. Our server was great! He was friendly and attentive. The drinks were very colorful and sweet. I had the blood orange margarita that was tasty if a little weak. Trying to eat more seafood I ordered the salmon that was seasoned but drowning in a cream sauce. My side of sautéed spinach was prepared well. My other side I chose was cornbread. If you like sweet almost cake like cornbread than this one is for you. I enjoyed my meal, but wasn't wowed by it. Also there's no paper menus and an automatic 20% service fee.

Came here on a Tuesday night during Black Restaurant week. Arrived one hour before close but was able to get seated and finish my food before 10 pm. I ordered the creole bird with a side of broccolini and seafood mac. The seafood mac included an upcharge but given the size of the dish, it wasn't too bad. The portions were large-I couldn't eat it all and apparently a lot of the patrons also walk out with to-go containers. My only thing is given how many Creole places I've been to (in NOLA and Houston) I didn't feel the food had much flavor or spice. I did love how juicy the chicken was even with a crispy skin. My server was also nice and attentive to all her tables. I can see this place being busy on the weekends as there were several parties there celebrating birthdays on a weeknight.

The food was AMAZINGGGG!! We were in town trying to get a bite to eat when we searched up restaurants this one popped up and we made a reservation on Sunday night the host called us to come early because they decided to close the restaurant earlier then what was listed on their site. The food came out soo hot and fresh. It was plated to perfection. The drink had the right amount of liquor and I love that for me. This spot really gave NOLA while in DC the food was SEASONED! The restaurant played rnb songs in the background and I felt like my playlist was being played because everything they played I listen to. Definitely have to come back to try the rest of their food.

The vibe is off the chain... with a DJ playing tunes that make you want to get off the chains and shake it off! Staff if very nice and our server is pretty cool and on top of everything. We didn't feel rushed & the bottomless mimosas kept coming! Def comi

I loved this place, we were in town for a Black History Month summit for my job...and so we were in Dupont Circle and although there are great places to eat there, we wanted to eat where the locals eat. Glad I was able to find this place as it truly hit the spot. I had their seafood fried rice and plantains...because sometimes it is about finding food that just comforts you. And this did. My friend had the jambalaya...and funny they had it with noodles or rice! I never associated jambalaya with noodles! Satisfied on this one and the staff was great!

The food and drinks here were really good! I had the macaroni which was truly great. The salmon and plantain was also amazing. We had an overall nice time. Our waitress was nice about she didn't really give food recommendations. She did give recommendations on places to go hang out so that was nice. I do not like their "patio" this was truly sidewalk eating. The homeless kept coming up to us. There was no music. I just didn't get it. The inside was more lively. Their website is very nice. I will say the website is more upscale than the restaurant itself but that's okay. I'm here for it. I say that to say, you don't need to get fancy to eat here. I'll come again when I return to dc

- great Sunday brunch music - great service - we returned a lot of food, and they did get visibly frustrated - huge portions - cajun shrimp sauce is great - chicken egg rolls are bomb - my friend says the deviled eggs are the best app - lobster and grits was good, but I was too full to fully enjoy - grilled chicken was delicious - I was told the steak was good - service took awhile tomcat going, but was good once it was there - music had everybody dancing - 2 hour bottomless for the win

They only offer the brunch package for $65 when you go during brunch, but our waitress allowed us to order what we wanted without the package since we weren't drinking. I'm not sure how often they allow this, but she said she made an exception. Food: - I ordered something safe: chicken and waffles. There's no way I'm going to a brunch that's focused on music and cheap champagne and expecting them to cook a lamb chop to my liking, that's just me though. My chicken and waffles were amazing. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, like really well, and the waffle was perfectly bready. If you like light crispy waffles, then this isn't the one for you. - Left much to be desired. Our waitress wasn't attentive at all and we had to ask for everything including water refills. Vibe: - If you want a day party vibe with loud music and folks having a good time, then this is it. I saw one girl get up and dance (on the floor, not table LOL) but that's about it. It's cool for a friends day out but not a romantic/chill brunch to laugh and have good convo with your boo. Just my thoughts. Would I return? Unlikely. Soul food comes a dime a dozen.

Yumm!!! We had a party of 8 so alot of variety experienced and all were delicious. Some hi-lights--- Chargrilled oysters and jambalaya oysters: We preferred the Chargrilled. The jambalaya oysters, although very good, the oyster flavor was lost under the toppings. Creole Salmon W/ Crab Meat: Awesome!!! And even better the next day for breakfast. Creole Ribeye: Great flavor but not the best quality of meat. Seafood Stuffed Lamb Chop: Delicious Jambalaya: Perfect! Service was fantastic. We had the pleasure of having Dallas serve us. Ambience was a bit noisy, but overall a great experience.

One of my favorite spots when I come to D. C. So I was like, let me do a review this time around. Let's talk about the service before we get started. The services wasn't good at all, 0/5 for sure. But hey, like they say, where there's bad service, there's great food. I started off with the crab claws, 5/5. The seafood, jambalaya, cream oysters up next with the fresh crab and fresh lobster, 5/5 . I also got the stuff planko lamps, which is the lamb chops stuffed with crabmeat, fire 5/5 . As a side I got the seafood mac and cheese with the crab and lobster. Everybody can't do this but I had no complaints with it. We're gonna wrap up with the jambalaya. It was over rice and over noodles that comes with shrimp, chicken and smoked sausage seasoning. Very flavorful. This is some of the best food I've had especially coming from charlotte! I'll be back! Of course TikTok brought me when..I was visiting the area for a weekend and wanted to visit one of the many black owned restaurants in the area. Creole on 14th takes TikTok by storm so, I decided to see the hype my self. I booked a reservation via Resy. Just note that cancelled reservations might lead to a fee. Check in was seamless and we were seated immediately after arriving. Tyler J. was our server for the night. Overall, we had a good experience with him ; no complaints. We overed oysters and spinach dip as apps. The crab claws were first choice over the oysters but, they were out. Essentially, the Oysters Rockefeller were simply Oysters topped with the spinach dip mix. Lol. Good just wish they had more "oyster" and less Cajun seasoning. It was a bit much and took away from the taste. The entree was served in a large portion. I'm glad my husband and I decided to share. The salmon automatically came out well done. I would have preferred medium well but, the server didn't ask nor did I make the request. So, no one's fault there; it was still good. If you are sensitive to cursing or vulgar music, you might not want to book for a Friday night reservation. I'm used to the Atlanta scene so, it didn't bother me, just took me off guard a bit that the restaurant was that lit at 7pm.

Creole on 14th is in Columbia heights so just prepare yourself for that parking situation if you're trying to park on the street and not pay for a garage. I came here for brunch with a friend who was visiting from out of town. The DJ was rocking and the atmosphere passed the vibe check. I'll be honest, my friends and I were more on the mature side in comparison to a majority of the crowd but that didn't matter much. Our server kept the bottles coming, we love that. When they allow you to mix your mimosa yourself that's the best because I like my mimosas light skinned. Can we talk about the food though?! If you're wondering what entree to get, get the lamb chops! You will not regret getting the lamb chops, I promise you. If you go for brunch you're gonna eat good and have a good time.

Absolutely delicious but the vibe is lacking! Myself and 7 friends were in town for a bachelorette celebration and put Creole on 14th at the top of our list of go-to spots. We made a reservation for 7pm dinner on a Friday evening in early August. Unfortunately we were running late and reached out to give them a heads up. It seems they forgot we were coming because the staff told us they would not be able to accomodate us at all since they had a larger party coming. I've never heard a restaurant snub one reservation for another. After a lot of back and forth between my friend who made the reservation and the restaurant staff, we were able to push the reservation to 7:30pm. Upon arriving, the place was packed but quiet. There seemed to be some sort of pageant going on in the far back of the establishment. We were greeted and served by staff at the bar while we waited for our table. Upon being seated, we were directed to order from the menu using a QR code. Food and drinks were out quickly and everything was delicious. Portions are also plentiful. I opted for the blackened chicken linguine pasta and creole cornbread. The pasta dish was reminiscent of rasta pasta (if you're from Brooklyn or NYC in general, then you know!). It included grilled chicken atop linguine in a creamy cajun pasta sauce with a variety of veggies. It was absolutely delicious! I didn't want it to end honestly. The cornbread was equally as great and tasted homemade. I did not have a drink. My friends had an array of selections from the catfish dinner, creole salmon, and seafood stuffed lamb, which they all enjoyed. Pricing was fair and reasonable. They tacked on a 20% automatic gratuity which was convenient for our large group. Our server, Brooke, was pleasant and attentive. We had no issues and she was kind enough to bring out a special dessert for the bride to be. Aside from the person we encountered on the phone, all of the staff in person were very kind. Despite the great food and service, the vibe was pretty dull for a Friday evening. I think this was mainly because of the event that preceded us. That event was eventually done within a 15 minutes of us being there and the restaurant began to play music shortly after, but it wasn't giving the lively vibe we had hoped or seen in social media content; especially considering that this would be an after work crowd. It honestly felt like we were having dinner after a church function. Overall it was an alright experience. Not what we had expected but the food was amazing. I'd definitely return to give it another try and I'd recommend others do so as well.

My feelings about Creole on 14th are so mixed but I will say that social media definitely overhyped this place up. My friend and I went here for dinner on a Saturday night and when we arrived, we were easily seated. The interior was....not what I was expecting. We didn't make a reservation before going and decided to just take a chance. However, if you go to their website to make a reservation, it says something about having a "dressy" dress code. There was nothing dressy about this place and the so-called dress code definitely wasn't being followed. They have QR codes on the table and have their menu online. I attempted to order a glass of wine but they were out of the wine I wanted. My friend ordered charbroiled oysters. Needless to say, they didn't taste like there was any char to them at all and they were so covered in cheese, you really couldn't taste much else. I ordered the crab-stuffed salmon with a side of broccolini and mac and cheese. When my food was brought out to me, I thought something was a little odd considering I requested my salmon be stuffed with crabmeat and not topped with crabmeat but since there was crabmeat there, I didn't think too much of it. It wasn't until I got the check that I realized I really didn't get what I ordered. However, that gave me a cheaper bill so I kept it moving. As for the food, it fell a little flat to me. The only thing that I can say I really enjoyed was the mac and cheese. The salmon with crabmeat was lacking something and I couldn't quite figure it out. The broccolini tasted weird to me and I couldn't eat much of it. From pictures and reviews on Yelp, it seems that they lack consistency in how the food is prepared. My experience wasn't terrible but I'm not in a rush to return either.

The price to food ratio for brunch was lit you get a big starter, entree , bottomless mimosas for 65 dollars! I was full after the starter lol. The garlic mussels were good, the fish and grits were bowl lickable!!!!!! The French toast could have stayed in the pan a little longer but that's just a personal preference it was still really good. Our server was very attentive and readily available. The dj was ok I kinda wish it was a little more turn up for Sunday brunch but it was still a vibe for my friends birthday.

I needed a table for 2 and there was a 45 min. to your long wait. 5 minutes into waiting, the hostess kindly offered me 2 seats at the bar that just opened up. The pomegranate mimosa was delicious and the waffles were just ok. You could tell the waffles weren't made to order. Thankfully that was all I ordered. Looking over the brunch menu, not much was vegan/dairy free but the dinner menu might be better. The DJ was cool and it was a turnt up brunch. Towards the end, it started to smell like an old mildew rag was place near the bar. That was a huge turn off so I scurried out of there

Came here to celebrate my friends 30th birthday. and let's just say it was definitely the best decision we made. Ju was our server and she was amazing. She offered suggestions and was very knowledgeable of the menu. There was literally ten different things I wanted to try. So many options, from a veggie burger to jambalaya. We had the jambalaya, cornbread, seafood Mac n cheese, and a few cocktails. By far the seafood Mac n cheese was my favorite. I wish I had some right now. The seafood has either lobster or crab, I can't remember but it was loaded with it. Most places when it has seafood there is only a small amount. Not here!!!!! Please go show them some love. The reviews and pics on here don't do it justice!! For parking we parked in a nearby parking garage as it is difficult to find parking on the street. Parking was $3, very cheap. Also no gratuity added like all the other nearby restaurants we went to.

No bad things to say about my visit to Creole. The reservation process was smooth and we had no trouble come our confirmed time. We chose to do the brunch package for $65 each it's well worth it. Bottomless mimosas an app and entrée. We shared the chargrilled wings and the egg roll thingy( can't remember the name). The app wings are a meal themselves and they are sooooooooo good. Get them grilled! For our entree's we had the fish and grits meal and also the French toast meal! No complaints at all. If you're looking for a good brunch with r&b and hip hop music. This is it!! Also Sharon was a terrific waitress!

Such a delightful treat. Everything was delicious and came out in good time. I had the seafood rice, Buffalo shrimp and the deviled eggs and everything was on point. Our waiter was nice and friendly, unfortunately I don't recall his name. They have cute decor for pictures too! I will definitely be returning soon.

Took myself to happy hour here and enjoyed the food, drinks and quiet early Friday vibe. I arrived a little early but the server let me order from the HH menu anyway. One thing I didn't realize is everything came with added crab for an additional cost until you asked for it to not be included. So my spinach dip had crab on top (unnecessary as the dip was delicious by itself and the crab on top had no flavor) and my deviled eggs had crab on top as well. Lesson learned. Ordered the seafood fried rice to go which was very bland and the jambalaya which my husband found too spicy to finish. Server was great, appetizers were very tasty. The seafood fried rice and jambalaya entrees were not good but I'll come again and give another menu item a chance. Recommend for happy hour.

Creole on 14th is located in the Columbia Heights neighborhood. Parking can be accessed on the parking lot above the Giant market. DO NOT FORGET TO VALIDATE. We reserved in advance via Resby so be prepared to leave your credit card, otherwise you can take your chances and do a walk-in. Also, one item I noticed as part of reviews was the mandatory 20% added to your bill. Yes, it is on the website so if that is a deal-breaker, choose another venue. The venue has a creole theme and the menu is diverse. My creole salad was well prepared. The spinach dip with crab meat was very tasty with the freshly prepared chips. There was one item which raised my eyebrow as my niece ordered the Jambalaya, however the dish must be for newbies who don't understand creole cuisine? They give you the option of over rice or pasta. Not a big deal......but those who know the culture understand the dish is a RICE based offering period. Serving it without rice is not Jambalaya. We ordered cocktails and I opted for what I thought was a long island ice tea? Instead their offering is a creole tea which comes with a whopping price tag of $20. A good change of pace but DC is full of creole/southern style restaurants which are more competitive, so this may be one and done for me.

If your looking for a nice bottomless brunch with a good DJ, Creole on 14th is where you need to be. This is times I wish Yelp had more than a 5-star rating, because this place checks all my boxes. So came here with 6 friends last Sunday, and can I just say we had a litty time. If you do brunch, you must purchase the brunch package, which is $65 pp. Before you gawk at the price, you get a lot for $65. The brunch package includes any appetizer or menu item from their oyster bar, any brunch entree, and drum roll, yes bottomless flavored mimosa( regular and Bellini) . Man o man, we had a plethora of items, from the roc a fella oysters, voodoo shrimp, garlic mussels, creole wings, shrimp and grits, fish and grits and French toast. You really can't go wrong here, everything was delicious. It also helps that they had a really good DJ, it was so hard not to get up and dance. Overall, I would definitely return, food and service was worth it. Definitely will add this place to my list for top DC brunches.

This place is a solid 2 to 3 stars for me. I will rank it three stars though. My experience was decent, but it wasn't memorable or it wasn't strong enough to make me come back. It presents itself the great marketing pitch and a decent atmosphere. I think this place falls into one of the many pitfalls of DC restaurants, which is that it fails to consider that many patrons are from around the world. Therefore authenticity is key. Food itself was overpriced, and it did not give me a strong, creole vibe. In fairness, I did go for happy hour. Happy hour drink prices were fairly decent, but the food itself did not excite me. I went on a slow night. I sat at the bar and it seems like the guy at the bar didn't want to provide service. I remember asking myself more than one occasion, if I should just leave. Great marketing worth a try but I won't be coming back.

Been here a few times, and each time has been different. Guaranteed people watching, and bartenders were fun to chat with. The Creole on 14th: Spiced Devil Eggs w/ Crab: Very Good Voodoo Shrimp: Very Good Salmon w/ Fried Rice: It was a little overcooked for my preference, but it was good because of the sauce over the salmon Later, I saw that the bartender took it upon himself to note my salmon to be well done. He never asked, and I don't like crispy dry salmon Mac & Cheese: Good Beverage: Blackberry Mule: It was ok, I did get tipsy off a few sips then passed it over to my designated drinker to finish it off for me.

This is a cool brunch spot in DC, with fantastic music. I was pleasantly surprised how kind and attentive our waiter treated us. We ordered Bayou rolls (very good) as appetizers. I also got the steak and eggs. The steak was seasoned well, but was not medium (as I requested). The mimosas were just okay, just not very strong. The music was phenomenal though -good mix of new and old rap/hip hop/R&B. The restaurant decor is decent, but small.

My first time trying this Restaurant was for its brunch experience. Reservations were easy to make, but this place is strict on their grace period of 15 minutes so get there ON TIME especially if you are in a group like I was (I see that as a double-edged sword because once we were seated, there were tons of open seats). There should be someone (management) actively monitoring if they could accommodate late guests or not. The decor and ambiance gave Restaurant/hall vibes. The music played was hip-hop, rap music which always makes the space better. The food was AMAZING. I had the spinach dip with crab meat for my appetizer and the shrimp and grits as my entree. Both were amazing but the shrimp in my entree were a little bit over salted. My recommendation for Creole would be to give some lax to the timing of the reservation and once people are seated, especially if you are not at capacity.

We attempted dining here one night at 920 they said no the kitchen closes at 930. We returned the following afternoon. The waitress was wonderful and consistently checked on us. She ensured we had a nice dining experience. The bartender made great drinks, to the point my friend needed water to sober up a bit. The spot is nice and the playlist is great. There are multiple photo opportunities as well. There is parking in the front of the restaurant and a parking garage down the side street. If you shop at the grocery store within two hours they validate the parking as well. The food was unimpressive. I enjoyed my roca fella oysters but they were cold and the spinach and cheese was luke warm. My grilled wings had no flavor and I thought the sauce would be on it but it was a dipping sauce. The grits and fish had way too much gravy on it. The mango lemonade was delicious and so were the alcoholic beverages. I would still give it another try.

Went here for brunch on a Sunday with friends. The music choices can be hit-or-miss for brunches. In my opinion, the day we went, they had solid music. I think because it was so busy, our food took forever to come out, and there were errors in the food orders. So I would recommend coming when it's not busy or be prepared to wait a while to receive your food and don't get anything too complicated. I had the Creole wings, which were delicious. I also had the Eggs Benedict breakfast, and it was okay since it came out so late that it was kind of cold. The Mimosas were great, though. Overall, I had a good time and would recommend it.

Hmmmmm.... Creole's experience was interesting - both good and challenging. This place is definitely popular amongst the diaspora in the DC area. See and be seen kinda spot with lots of fly gals and guys heading in and out. The entrance to this spot is oddly set up - narrow in and out and challenging for folks to check in at the front desk without fighting your way through a crowd of people. Not the best start to an ideal brunch day. Once inside and see that, however, the party begins! Our waitress, who was kind, and yet overwhelmed, immediately brought waters over to our table and disappeared to service other tables. We use the QR code to scan the menu, and all of us at the table, settled on the bronze package, which includes a starter, main entrée, and bottomless Mimosas, Bellini's , and/or their house made punch. The DJ started spinning and folks were TURNT! The vibes were immaculate but lets talk about the food. For my appetizer I ordered the charbroiled oysters which came out fairly quickly. And while tasty, the presentation was horrible and no bread accompanied it. Our orders took about an additional 40+ mins to come out which was frustrating but there was a HUGE party there (maybe 25 people) so we tried to be patient. My entree, catfish and grits, was really good. The grits were thick and flavorful and the catfish fried to perfection- I was not expecting it to be as good as it was. All in all, it gave me a hood bougie brunch with good food so Im sure I'll go back.

Ambiance: 100% Service: Brook was on point. Very good waitress. Food: mixed feelings. Deviled eggs with crab meat was good. Fried green tomatoes needed a sauce and a pinch of salt to give it that ummmph! Not a fan of bayou rolls. Seemed like chicken and cheese is a fried enchilada. Main entree was awful. I'll never order shrimp and grits again. Brook made it right with the lamb chops but the gravy was nasty. Overall review: 3.2. Only because of live DJ and server Brook. Not worth 84 dollars. 65 plus an automatic gratuity and it was only 3 of us. Smh.
