The specialties of Cancale are crêpes and cider. This joint has the best in Cancale, in my humble opinion. For lunch, we ordered 2 savory crêpes, 2 sweet crêpes, and 2 bottles of cider to go with each...WOW. Will be back here in June as well!
Also, they have a traditional Japanese restaurant upstairs, and I cannot find the listing for it, so I figured I'd just add it to this one...it is not a sushi restaurant, although they do incorporate some raw fish (yay!) into some courses but a traditional Japanese restaurant. The crêpes were so good, and the staff at Masion Richeux also told us that the Japanese restaurant upstairs was delicious, so we decided to return to the same joint, just upstairs (run by the same owner, who we had the pleasure of meeting-he splits his time between Cancale and Tokyo), to dine on a traditional Japanese tasting menu and wine/sake pairings. They offer 2 tasting menus, one being a condensed version, and then the grand tasting menu...we, of course, opted for the grand tasting menu...one of the best traditional Japanese meals of my life.
