"Crepes of Brittany is a great place to go for a quick bite, whether you want a fast breakfast or a light lunch if you’ve got a big dinner reservation later. For something sweet, try their Caramelba crepe, filled with a mix of melba sauce (made from a blend of raspberry, lemon, and red currant jelly) and salted caramel. To go savory, the galette bretonne that’s made with an earthy-rich buckwheat crepe and filled with brie and caramelized onions is excellent. There are a few small tables inside and out, but the crepes also transport well if you choose takeout." - allison green, gabi moskowitz

This place was AMAZING. I highly recommend this place for breakfast (or lunch). The crepes are TO DIE FOR. The staff was extremely friendly! Pricing was a bit high but worth it. Overall, I was sad to leave Monterey due to not having their delicious crepes!

I've been here 8 times. My dish I've gotten every time is the sweet caramel crepe. I always ask for no whipped cream, as the whipped cream flavor gets in the way of the caramel flavor. The reason I say this is because the caramel is SUPER good, not really sweet and not dull. I've also gotten Martinellis sparkling apple cider every time, but they have an excellent selection of drinks. The atmosphere is great, and the staff are great, and one we met actually grew up in France and helped my group settle a crepe-related argument. I always go here whenever I'm in monterey, and now it's a tradition. The only bad thing is that the prices could be cheaper, but everything else easily makes up for that. Another great thing about this place is that it's right next to the wharf and the Portola Hotel, and is right in the middle of monterey. If you are staying in monterey and don't know where to have breakfast, this place is definitely a great option. Great place 👍

Google
We were here early to beat the crowds around 7:30am on a Sunday. Carmel macchiato was excellent to start while we waited for our crepes. We had the Brie and mushroom crepe and the ham and egg and the lemon and sugar. The lemon and sugar is the best and the reason we always come back when visiting.

Google
Really great crepes, super friendly service. The brie and caramelized onion crepe was excellent but almost too much, it is definitely one to share. I was wondering why it was double the price of the other crepe we ordered, but when I got the food I understood why, the takeout box was heavy with the amount of brie they put in there. The homemade caramel crepe was also great. Lattes were decent too.

Google
Great place to get a crepe. We had the Nutella strawberry and the strawberry cream cheese one. Outdoor seating was perfect.

Google
We tried the salmon Brie with onions and the strawberries with Nutella and they were both really good. The crepe was nice a thin which made the fillings stand out beautifully. There was a long line but moved relatively fast. Had to to-go it because we didn’t have time but it was still delicious.

Google
We enjoyed a banana-strawberry Nutella crepe and a caramel apple and cinnamon. It is a cozy shop with indoor and outdoor seating. The crepes were delicious—such a great way to start the day! We ordered a small and large coffee. Since we stayed, they said the coffee was self-service and had unlimited refills, but they still charged us two different amounts for the coffee. Strange, but no biggie. A flat rate for dine-in coffee would make more sense.

Google
I love this place so much! They provide good service with big smile asking questions about my preference on milk for my drinks. The crepe looks and tastes stunning plus the decorations in the cafe is cute with the sea theme. If I have a chance definitely I will go back

Yelp
Crepes are awesome The service is great. Handy for hotel guests too (shh) Easy access to/from the Portola..

Yelp
This is an amazing little gem near the Old Fisherman's Warf. It's located centrally. There's plenty of seating inside and out. The crepes are so delicious! My compliments to the chefs. The staff are cheery and polite. The owners are from All Images News Videos Maps Short videos Forums Shopping Web Books Flights Finance Search tools Feedback Brittany French Region Follow Brittany, France's northwestern most region. Great place to stop and eat. Oh, they serve mimosas!

Yelp
Our LO very much enjoyed the lemon crepe! It was light and had just the right amount of sweetness. In tasting LO's lemon crepe, I liked it even better than my delicious chocolate and strawberry crepe. The service was prompt and the food was delicious. Restaurant is decorated with France-inspired decor. Bon appetite!

Yelp
My first visit to this establishment on December 27, 2024. I am traveling and dining alone on a recreational trip. It's been a while since I had Crêpes in a restaurant. There is adequate parking nearby. Ambience is very lovely and there is outdoor seating that I really enjoyed. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Food was brought out in a reasonable timeframe. I had a buckwheat crepe with brie and caramelized onions that was absolutely delicious. The menu is extensive. This is a great way to welcome yourself to the Monterey area.

Yelp
Yesterday was our last day of our roadtrip so we stopped by for some breakfast just before we left town. I am a huge lover of crepes and enjoy trying different places. This cutie little shop was in a small out outdoor shopping center & hotel. It has a very french yet homey aesthetic. It was nice and comfortably quiet. I ordered the homemade caramel crepe and it was absolutely delicious. The service was great as the young lady at the counter was kind and helped answer my questions. It came out quickly and the presentation was beautiful. I ate it so fast I almost forgot to take a picture! Definitely recommend this cute little cafe.

Marjo G.

Yelp
Service was quick! Their caramel is home-made and super delicious because it had a deep flavor. Conveniently located near Portola Hotel & Spa and the plaza.

Ana K.

Yelp
I just had a memorable crepe with salmon, brie and caramelized onion. I wish I took a photo. The cheese was melted and the caramelized onions were inside the crepe, cooked to perfection. I ordered with a latte with oat milk. I loved that you can seat outside and enjoy your meal outdoors. The service was great too. I'll come back here whenever I have another chance.

Trinity R.

Yelp
Amazing service with even better food I have been lucky enough to try their sweet crepes as well as their savory ones, and while the homemade caramel is my absolute FAVORITE, all of them are fantastic!

Ria C.

Yelp
Lots of crepe choices, from sweet to savory. Fillings were generous and portion size was quite large. Expect a line to order and a wait for your food. Ample seating inside and outside

Saida W.

Yelp
I was looking forward to eat crepes that day but they were closed and started cleaning up 30 mins before the stated time on the door.

Henry C.

Yelp
Had the "Complete" and a strawberry + Nutella crepe. Both sweet and savory were delicious. Only drawback is they don't take call-in orders but wait was pretty quick for takeout.

Lesley P.

Yelp
It was just Ok , too pricey , Service was Friendly & Accommodating Mgr was helpful , Plenty of seating & tables outside , inside was small but warm

Yelp
November 17, 2024 had female cashier about noon on Saturday. I asked if it was extra for soy milk for my latte and she said no. So then I ordered two soy milk lattes. Towards the end of the order, I said it's nice that you guys don't charge extra for alternative milk for people that are allergic to dairy. Then she said oh we do charge $2 extra I guess. I said since you already rang it up and everything and told me that you didn't can't you just give it to me that way. She said no. It was upsetting therefore I wasn't able to enjoy the $100 breakfast we all ordered. I don't think places should charge extra for alternative milks now. Starbucks does not because it's discriminative against people that are allergic to dairy and against people that are animal rights for baby cows that are being slaughtered for the milk that was meant for them.

Brianna T.

Yelp
Very conveniently located next to me and my fiancé's hotel with minimal wait. Went for breakfast 2 days in a row. Everything was yummy just a bit salty. Definitely recommend if you are in the area!

Saleem C.

Yelp
This is a place that we have been to several times when we visit Monterey and are looking for a place to have a decent breakfast. They make very good crêpes here and are fresh to order. Unlike other crêpe places such as Crepevine, the flavor and freshness are definitely noticeable in their dishes. We usually order the buckwheat crêpes with salmon as it reminds me of a very good salmon and cream cheese bagel. They also serve coffee here, and other items which I'm sure are good as well. The ambience is classy, and the employees are friendly and provide excellent service. I highly recommend going to this place.

Mike V.

Yelp
This place is fabulous. I came here the other morning with a friend of mine for breakfast. I ordered the Nutella and Strawberry crepes and they were phenomenal. Great service good environment with seating inside and out. Our order came up quickly and we took them to go so we could eat them at the beach

Yolanda A.

Yelp
Yummy crepes! We were there on a Saturday morning October 12 and had the strawberry crepe and the caramel crepes. Very yummy. The cappuccino was delicious (double shot) and the Americano coffee was so smooth!

Allen H.

Yelp
Excellent crepes - literally better than the crepes I had in actual France. The savory crepes are compactly sized but packed full of tasty ingredients. I really liked cutting into the sunny side egg and having the egg explode on the crepe. The buckwheat crepe itself has a nice crispy texture to it and actually tastes good, unlike other buckwheat crepes I've had in the past. This spot is definitely worth checking out!

Cole M.

Yelp
I've only been a handful of times over the last 8 years but each time the food is great and the staff are friendly! They have a pretty large menu so there's an option for everybody. And location is hard to beat, but parking can be a little tricky. I always like to get a crepe there then go on a walk on the rec trail afterwards. Never had a bad experience here!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
This place is a gem. I love how cultural it is. I came in with friendly service. They greeting me with a smile and also gave use recommendations. The French onion soup was such a delight. It was delicious. The smoked salmon crepe was pretty tasty. We also got their sweet caramel crepe and that was completely satisfying. Their caramel sauce is made in house and is incredible. They even have one of my favorite hot sauces the pepper plant which is made without a lot of ingredients and not too spicy. The location is pretty and the patio outside is very refreshing.

Kathy H.

Yelp
Everything tasted good but was a little pricey. We got the small french onion soup, chocolate croissant, blueberry muffin, smoked salmon crepe, and an iced americano. The pastries would have been better heated up. The soup and the salmon crepe were excellent. We sat outside as we had our dog with us. Nice place to check out, right by Portola Hotel and right before Fisherman's Wharf.

Bailey H.

Yelp
This restaurant is so good! Whenever we are in Monterey we always make time to visit this restaurant. Every crepe is so delicious! We highly recommend Crepes of Brittany to everyone that we know! The staff is always so kind and prompt. They are kid friendly.

Misty L.

Yelp
Nice little place to stop on our walk on the way to Fisherman's Wharf. Great for a little meal. We had a blueberry cream cheese crepe and a latte, as well as a ham, cheese, and egg crepe with orange juice. It was pretty busy when we were there, so we opted to sit outside. There is a lot of seating outside which is perfect on a nice day.

Yesi C.

Yelp
Wow! Incredible service and the crepes were delicious! It was our last day in Monterey or we would have gone again and again! Such a cute spot! We had our dog so are outside and it was such a great experience! Definitely recommend if you're in the area! :)))

Brittany Z.

Yelp
The cafe is busy and small. It smells delicious inside because they also sell pastries. Once it slowed down the atmosphere was cozy. The perfect time to read a book and sip some tea. The homemade whip cream elevated the sweet crepes. The toppings to crepe ratio was perfect. Not too sweet and not too overpowering.

Trish E.

Yelp
Looking for a light lunch close to our Hotel. Ordered at the counter and seated ourselves. It's a very tiny place with outdoor seating. But the crepes were crepes, good eats!

Damir G.

Yelp
I didn't know it was possible to create as bad of a crepe as I just ate but I found out today. Way too thick and way too sweet. I could not finish it with how chewy it was. The chicken sandwich I had was not bad but overpriced. Wait was too long too for the quality of the food.

Mark P.

Yelp
Oh my. I'm not sure what we were expecting, but those were exceeded by great measures. The "Complete" w/scrambled eggs and added mushrooms was amazing! The flavor was stupendous! And the Nutella w/banana and whipped cream was a great finish. Our kudos to the chefs, kitchen staff, and wait staff!! And the "jump start" was equally delicious. Great eatery!!

Tia L.

Yelp
Definitely the best breakfast spot around! They make a great cup of coffee to go with your crepe too. I love the cute decorations and French music that they play in the background. It's a super relaxed vibe and the staff are all pretty friendly. I've been coming for years and I am so happy they've never changed the crepe recipe because it's so tasty. They also now have some useful grab and go picnic type foods and delicious looking pastries to take on the road. I'll be coming again soon!

Michel Southwick S.

Yelp
Food was very filling for a crepe! Loved the fruit, Fresh and delicious. I have one day left on vacation and we are eating our last day breakfast there!

Tess T.

Yelp
So great! Real authentic French food the owner is from France! And the crepes prove it! I might add the coffee stewards are amazing! I love this place for a moment of French calm and order. From the ceiling to the door! It looks like you are in a cafe In France!

Hoang N.

Yelp
We came here for breakfast before heading out to the aquarium . The Brie, smoked salmon crepe is a must try, crunchy and super tasty . The Brie is melted inside the crepe. White mocha and the other crepes are average. Nice staff and good ply for breakfast

Shay M.

Yelp
I got the most savory delectable crepe ever. It was the smoked salmon with brie and an add on of carmelized onions. The crepe was also pretty huge and they did not skimp on the ingredients. I also had some bites with just lemon and sprinkled on sugar which was a nice break from the savoriness. Very chill cafe would recommend to do some sketching :) ~4.5 stars

Jose H.

Yelp
Great service and lots of good options, among them Crepe's are the must have. Mine with scrambled eggs cheese and ham was very good and my wife was more than pleased with her typical strawberry Nutella Crepe. Ambiance is nice and calm appropriate for a nice relax dinning experience.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Excellent service, friendly staff, and wonderful location. Bonus: The crepes are AMAZING!! So delicious and full of flavor. Great place to have breakfast and get that coastal air.

Jennifer B.

Yelp
The crepes here are so delicious! I am still thinking about how wonderful they tasted! We had the Banana Caramel Crepe, Lemon Crepe, Ham and Cheese Crepe, & Nutella and Strawberry Crepe. The whip cream was so smooth and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. We sat outside to enjoy the great open air, in which there is ample seating inside and outside. You have to order when you enter the restaurant at the register and they are very helpful to giving you suggestions, which is great because there is so much to choose. This is the go-to for crepes don't waste your time anywhere else!

Darrell S.

Yelp
This is one of our 2 go-to breakfast spots when in Monterey. During a trip late last year, it was our only spot as the birthday girl wanted Crepes of Brittany both days. Crepes of Brittany hasn't disappointed. I can't get away from my usual, the apple cinnamon crepe, and performing clean-up duties, finishing whatever is left of their strawberry crepes. During a recent daddy-daughter trip, we arrived very close to closing time. My daughter ordered strawberry crepes and since I didn't want to carry leftovers or waste food, I ordered nothing, although she'd told me that she would finish her plate. She shared a piece before eating but thought the size of the piece that I cut was a little too big. Being past closing time, "it was at this moment... (he) knew..." LOL! It was at this moment, I knew she was serious about finishing her plate. After such a wonderful day in Monterey, and all of the fun things we did and food we ate, my only regret was not ordering my own crepe. :)

Rogelio P.

Yelp
Delicious Crepes. Friendly service. My wife and I split a blueberry and cream cheese crepe and a ham, cheese, and egg crepe. Both were delicious in their own right. Masters of their craft and the quality ingredients are obvious. Wish this place was closer to home. Will have to come back.

Urban Diner D.

Yelp
Quaint and charming French cafe with many speaking French customers. i ordered a small French Onion soup which was unlike any other. incredibly delicious. My friend ordered carmel apple crepes which were divine! We asked the beverage area for some water for our service dog and Terry, the personable and accommodating owner provided a suiting bowl with clean cool water - He also walked around collecting empty dishes asking with a smile how e each customer is enjoying their delicious feast.. As customers (now friends) come rushing in for their morning feast.. Terry is there shaking hands and greeting them... Terry still frequents Brittany France..Stacie our server also rolled out the red carpet..WOW!! 10 out of 10 Stars!!

Natalie G.

Yelp
Very friendly and accommodating staff, who were able to modify our order for a toddler (side cup of bananas and strawberries with a small cup of milk). Complete Crepe with scrambled eggs came out piping hot and was so delicious! Portions were very generous--I could have split my crepe order. Self-serve local coffee came with free refills. Plenty of seating inside and out. Would definitely return!

Jenna S.

Yelp
Kids had Nutella crepes and I had a breakfast sandwich with bacon and eggs and a side salad. All super delicious and perfect portion! Crepes were huge!

Candace L.

Yelp
Ever since my bff watched some random Jacques Pépin crepe video I have to admit I've been unimpressed by any purchased crepe. I intentionally did not order crepes on my last trip to France and I try not to order them anywhere because they always seem to be underwhelming. We, well my bff (he did try to show me, mine aren't perfected just yet) make these at home. The batter is great and all I really like in my crepe is nutella and powdered sugar atop. I found myself in the area and wanting a small snack to have with my coffee so we checked this place out. They were fine, but a crepe is a crepe I suppose. Once you know how to make them yourself the appeal of purchasing them out somehow completely disappears. If you have no clue how to make them and still gain a sense of satisfaction from someone else making them, then this place will scratch that itch and probably meet your needs. I need to keep away from ordering them out I think, as I'm never blown away and always left feeling it's silly to charge what some places for the the simplest and easiest recipe. The cafe itself is cute and I did enjoy the French cafe music they had playing. It's a nice little spot to tuck away in for a little bit. We were across the street at the conference center and walking around the area a bit so we stopped in. I don't think you need to go out of your way for them but if you need a little bite to eat they can get the job done.

Natalie G.

Yelp
My dad is from Brittany, France and so when my husband and I were visiting years ago we stopped here and had some crepes. I needed to bring my dad so on a recent trip to Monterey we stopped in. My dad said the crepes were better at this restaurant than some crepes he had in Brittany France! My dad and I love the Crepe Complete with the ham, cheese and egg. He likes the egg scrambled in the crepe. I like it sunny side up so the yolk can be spread across the crepe. My husband, mom and son like the sweet crepes. My mom ate here entire crepe with Nutella, bananas and strawberries. My son go to is crepe with sugar and butter and my husband is the same with a squeeze of a lemon - very traditional in Brittany. We met the owners and turns out one of them is from the same town my father grew up in Brittany! Small world! We went back the next day to get pastries for the road home and everything is delicious. Coffee is excellent! We really enjoyed and nice to have a very good crepe and not have to go to France. The place is very busy but the turn over is pretty good. We haven't had to wait too long for a table. The location is ideal, walkable along the marina and the decor is very nice. Feels like you stepped into a cafe in France.

Scarlett K.

Yelp
I was in a rush and wanted some savory breakfast. Ordered ham+1 item savory crepe with caramelized onions. I was surprised to see the crepe was so dark, I believe it was over cooked. but i didn't have time to wait for another one. ham was a deli meat, thin slice, but I gave a 3 stars because the caramelized onions was really sweet and complemented the salty ham very well. the shop was right outside Portola Hotel, very convenient and visible from pedestrian, with large windows and outdoor seatings it was a nice spot to people watch.

Florence A.

Yelp
Nice breakfast and coffee place with lots of indoor and outdoor seating. The menu has lots to please everyone, and the workers are super nice. Coffee is outstanding.

Dacoda M.

Yelp
My 2nd time going to Crepes of Brittany, this time I got to go with my girlfriend (Brittany). She was very excited to say the least. Other than the funny coincidence, this place has amazing crepes. I had the salmon and Brie cheese crepe. You definitely have to like the strong flavors of salmon and Brie (which I love). The salmon was so fresh and the melted Brie was such a good pairing. My Brittany had the ham and cheese crepe. Another homerun! Almost wanted to change my order after trying it. Everything paired nicely with the cool Monterey air on the patio while we people/dog watched!

Genesis V.

Yelp
Close to the pier. Good spot for a quick bite or a coffee. The pastries are premade so not as fresh as you wish. Crepes are delicious and you have plenty of options.

Marina V.

Yelp
We stayed here for a trip and this place was near our hotel! A cute little place and I do have to say the coffee was delicious! I got an americano and an iced latte and both were wonderful! For a sweet bite we got the Nutella strawberry crepe and it was sooo good! Especially the homemade cream on top! Reasonable prices too!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
The coffees were great! The vanilla latte was lightly sweetened and strong which is what I like! My boyfriend ordered the cooked banana crepe and it came with this amazing house made caramel sauce. We bought a bottle to take home. The peach Melba was great as well, peaches were fresh. I wish it came more like a peach cobbler with that caramel sauce. It came with this amazing toasted almond topping though! The service was very quick and they were great about giving recommendations. The gentlemen also made rounds on the pet friendly patio to see if we needed additional things like to-go containers. Very friendly, good coffee, great crepes, anything with the caramel will be good!
