Stumbled onto Spring Arcade while in downtown LA this week to see a chiropractor, and was pleasantly surprised to see a few nice little restaurants in this quaint little arcade.
I was alone and was looking for a simple lunch, settled on Crepes San Frontieres when I saw that they had some good vegetarian options.
I ordered the mushroom panini which I felt was a mistake, should have gone with the server's suggestion of the crepe instead. The bread was a little too hard for my liking. I asked for a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon and was glad that they gave me a large cup. However, they failed to tell me that there was a charge of $1.00 per cup of hot water and when I asked for a refill, they charged me again for the refill!!
Pretty absurd don't you think?!!
I wouldn't have minded being charged $1.00 for the hot water but it would have been nice if they had told me about it first, but the second charge for a top up which wasn't even a full cup is just ridiculous! It's not the money at this point, but I hate being 'nickeled and dime-ed'!!
I didn't review the line items on my check when I got it until the next day! I was appalled! While I understand that it is a business and they have to make money, but to nickel and dime your customers is a very bad business approach!! Especially in this day and age with the likes of Yelp and google reviews!
I will never step into your restaurant again and will never recommend anyone. In fact, I will always remember my experience and pass it along to anyone who mentions the name of your restaurant.
