As newcomers to the area, we were looking forward to sampling a local brew. The building itself is charming, a pleasant surprise given the slightly hidden location also the inside has a dive bar feel.
Our excitement quickly evaporated upon entering. First, it was empty with only one other guy there. The older woman running the bar area gave us an immediate scowl, as if we had interrupted her. I stood at the door and asked if they were open, her reply was instantly off-putting: "I'm outta there in 30 minutes," even though their stated hours online showed they were open for another two hours.
The entire interaction was awkward and made us hesitant to stay. An older gentleman did come out and try to be friendly, assuring us that was enough time for one drink. However, the bartender's sour attitude persisted. When we asked to see the menu, she replied with a highly disgruntled tone and an irritated look, saying, "We're low on a lot."
That was our cue. My husband and I exchanged a look and decided to leave. We were made to feel so unwelcome and unwanted that it actually hurt our feelings. For a place that seems to rely on local support, the lack of hospitality was shocking. We left disappointed and will not be coming back. We also noticed, as another reviewer mentioned, the menu seems basic and generic.I didn't want to spend my money on a beer and chug it fast to get out of there when I could buy the same at a gas station and drink comfortable at home.
