The 19 Best Restaurants in Cairo, Egypt | Eater

"When residents of densely packed Zamalek aren’t busy sipping coffee in one of the island’s compact cafes, shopping in its boutiques, or perusing its art galleries, they head for Crimson’s relaxed terrace for a breezy breakfast or a sophisticated night out. A fantastic view of the Nile is the perfect backdrop for stylish Mediterranean and Italian dishes. Start with the salmon roll (beetroot-cured salmon with cream cheese and shrimp, topped with salty black caviar), followed by the succulent grilled chateaubriand for two, and the signature pineapple creme brulee (baked within a pineapple). Crimson is also known for its impressive selection of cocktails, most notably a bright gin and tonic infused with coriander and rosemary. Reservations are highly recommended." - Laila Hassaballa

Wow this restaurant served the best food and wine. The staff were so friendly and funny. They made sure we had everything we needed. The view is great directly in front of the Nile. It was a lovely fine dine experience without the extra formalities. They gave us recommendations that did not disappoint. The steaks were my favourite. The elevator broke down tho and we had no other option of going down and the manager refused to give me a free glass of wine which was sad. Would definitely recommend the restaurant and definitely planning on coming again in my next trip to Egypt.

An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The cuisine is absolutely top notch fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Whether you’re here for a relaxing breakfast or a romantic dinner, the ambiance is unmatched, especially on the terrace overlooking the Nile. The view is stunning at any time of day, and the atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. Service was attentive, professional, and warm without being intrusive. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy great food in one of the most iconic settings Zamalek has to offer. A true gem by the river.

A wonderful place by the Nile to sit and relax after a long day, but difficult to get a reservation so try to to that early on. The scene is so inviting and calming. The food and dessert are great as well. Definitely a place to visit if you’re in Cairo

Sure! Here’s a punchy review you can use: ⸻ Crimson Bar & Grill is hands down one of the best spots in Cairo to perch for the day. I spent hours there soaking up the stunning Nile views and enjoying both breakfast and a late lunch—each dish was absolutely delicious. The vibe is relaxed yet upscale, the service is spot on, and the prices are surprisingly reasonable for such a prime location. Whether you’re looking to unwind, write, or just enjoy a scenic meal, this place delivers. I’ll definitely be back.

It’s a fancy rooftop restaurant with a amazing view of the Nile. The ambience and service is great. We visited the place to experience their Egyptian breakfast which was beautifully served. The taste was really good and would definitely visit again. Generally for breakfast, prior reservation is not required but for dinner it’s recommend.

Great views, beautiful interior but I wasn’t too impressed by the service. Considering that there are lots of waiters, it was occasionally difficult to get the attention of the staff and it takes some time for the drinks to come. Didn’t order the food.

Yep, nah, nope. There are lots of premium restaurants in Cairo these days and whilst this place seems to try to be awesome - it missed the mark tonight. Sadly. - was difficult to gain the attention of servers as most seemed to be chatting with their colleagues - portions sizes for the glasses of wine varied significantly - the table lamp was never lit for us - as shown in pics - even though was asked for several times - and the black board special of octopus bolognese with shrimps was extremely limited to non existent with the octopus 🤦🏼‍♂️ and two shrimps. Seriously…. As mentioned. Lots of other better premium options available in Cairo. And seriously adding a cover charge in 2025. Like really……

The view was amazing and the food was so tasty, The service was not up to expectation as i had to repeat my order several times even though I was pointing to the items in the menu and when serving the waiters seemed like hesitating especially while pouring a drink. The drink was not as described in the manu but was acceptable. What covers all this was the view from the trace.
