The server was amazing. I ordered the olives as an appetizer and what I got was what appeared to be a jar of green olives with pimentos and put them in a bowl. We also ordered the cheese and meat.board. Had runny mozzarella cheese, 4-5 cubes of Swiss cheese cubes with some pepperoni and a funky salami, a glop of pimento cheese dip, more green olives with pimentos and something that resembled cauliflower. The polenta was actually grits and the chicken was so salty it was difficult to eat.

I went to a baby shower for a friend today. Helped decorate and the staff was great to us and very helpful when doing so. Once done and family started to arrive, apps where put out and mimosa bar started. The start was great and brought our drink to us etc. We sat down for lunch and started with a two option app between tomato bisque or salad. The soup was fantastic and made ever say “WOW”. Let’s just say we got excited about our entrees! We had a four option choice for this which I had shrimp scampi. I was extremely impressed with the homemade pasta and that in self we make me go back! Food was great! Location was great, clean glassware and plating was nice and higher class looking than I thought to expect at a baby shower. But so nice. The meal was served with great timing in my opinion. I will be looking into location as a potential wedding venue because of the chef first, staff secondly and venue third!!!

Went there for one of the worst meals I can remember and it was supposed to be a special night out with my wife. Beautiful location, terrible kitchen! Most basic and unimaginative menu. Risotto was overcooked and lackluster with my steak. No specials were available and it’s obvious the chef couldn’t care less, so we focused on wine and each other. Lots of issues that start at the top. Whoever runs this place is ruining it. One and done. Fortunately the server tried and she was great.

Sat down and left almost immediately. Menu was very disappointing and the clientele was not what we expected. We asked what the seasonal hummus was and the waitress said she would ask the chef and never returned, that was our cue to leave. We gave her cash for the drinks and left. Prob will never return unless it is to meet someone at the bar

We last dined here in early 2019 and concluded that absolutely loved this destination. Service, food and ambience was amazing. As we were considering a place for a “date night,” we opted to return (first time post-Covid). Probably not our best choice. Walked in and the host just stared at me … I actually had to say “can we have dinner here?” He then pointed to the room vaguely. After a few more questions I chose a table past the newer section into what we remembered as the cozy dining area. Obviously there has been a re-do since our last visit. Bottom line is that we were simply underwhelmed. Service was average. Food was average. Atmosphere was average. They were out of meatloaf (which I remember living in the past). My roasted chicken has zero flavor and the asparagus was pretty tough to eat. We had to ask halfway through the meal for bread. Not the worst place to eat, but there are far too many other options out there in the region if I’m spending money. I’d love to see this establishment return to what it was before. That said, maybe the decision is to cater to a different crowd and that’s ok as well.

The drinks were delicious, and while they were short staffed, they were friendly and accommodating. The building is beautiful, the vibes are there. The food is mediocre; my table had the burger, the chicken sandwich, and the meatloaf.

Google
The restaurant is beautiful but the food was just a bit average for the price. The service was great however. It would not.be a place I would want to frequent except for maybe a salad and some wine.

Best steak in the area and really good drinks. Intimate setting in a lively historic property.

Yelp
Had a great dinner with friends last night. Tried several new menu items. The chef was super friendly, and the food was delicious! I cannot believe I've never eaten here before. I think our table tried about everything on the menu. We will be back!!

Yelp
Cristina Grays Nestled within the Italian-Renaissance architecture of the JH Adams Inn, a historic boutique hotel, Cristina Gray's offers a unique dining experience steeped in elegance and charm. They've got a new executive chef in town (and he's super talented in case you didn't know ). They recently rolled out a new Italian-inspired menu where each dish tells a story - from their house-made pasta crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients, to their exquisite Chicken Milanese and succulent Delmonico Ribeye - everything delivers. High Point & Triad friends, add this to your dinner plans soon.

Yelp
We visited recently just because we were looking for new places and honestly hadn't heard of Cristina Gray's. We're extremely happy we did. The food is terrific and prepared by an expert chef. The menu is small but fresh and good. The highlight of our evening was our bartender though. The drinks were amazing enough that although it was half priced wine we opted for several great drinks. There were very few people during the evening we ate there so it may be a hidden little gem with the new staff they have. I would recommend giving it a try.

Yelp
The ambiance is spectacular. The place is home to this restaurant and a bed and breakfast. I'm not sure what the food was like previously but the new chef has done amazing things with this new menu. Everything we had was amazing. I'm in no way a vegetable guy but the broccolini was the almost the star of the meal for me! The mushroom ravioli is not pictured below but that's because we ate it so quickly, it was amazing. Really everything was and priced nicely for the quality. The service excited my expectations, the waitress even gave us a few facts about the building. The outdoor seating will be my hangout place for the spring and summer for sure.

Yelp
Although the menu is rather limited, I've not had something from it that I didn't thoroughly enjoy. From the tuna sandwich, to the the ribs, to the chicken (ask for extra bourbon pecan sauce ) , it is all amazing. Even the salads are of good side and tasty, with option to add a protein. They also run specials and if you're lucky enough to be there when they have fried chicken, you're in for a real treat! Smaller, quaint atmosphere.. great for a date night or with a small group of friends.

Yelp
What a lovely dinner experience. We were visiting and attending the High Point Market event. We were searching for a place to have dinner. Everywhere else seemed to be fully booked or closed on a Tuesday evening. We stumbled upon Cristina Gray's and thought to give it a try. Everyone was so kind and accommodating. The atmosphere was warm and sophisticated. Not a stuffy snobby environment either. The historical features of the house/inn/restaurant just added to the charm. The food was delicious too. Compliments to the chef! Would definitely go there again!

Yelp
Always great specials and an incredible atmosphere. Highly recommend the short ribs!!!

Yelp
This restaurant has really stepped up their game. The chef, Mary, has redone the menu and is serving beautiful dishes. It doesn't matter what you get, it's so satisfying and filling. The Crab Stuffed Salmon, any of her Chef Specials, her soups, any appetizer, and the Champagne Vinaigrette Dressing... I could go on and on. My personal favorite sides are the mashed potatoes and the Parmesan grits. Holy cow. Mary never misses! Cristina Grey's is a must eat place whether you're a local or just visiting High Point. Make sure to make a reservation. We left a voicemail at the restaurant because the open at 5pm. They called us back shortly after 4pm and confirmed the reservation. Super nice people and cozy atmosphere.

Yelp
I have driven past this place too many times to count and had no idea what was inside. It's an adorable Inn and Cristina Gray's is located inside. The restaurant is small but charming. A beautiful staircase cascades into the dining room, and there is a stunning patio, which was far too cold for us to enjoy during our visit. The reason I didn't rate this place a 5 was the service. The waitress smiled and was friendly but bumbled through most anything she said. Since Valentines Day was 2 days ago they offered a special pre fixed menu, but thankfully they didn't make us order from it! We were also given a standard menu. There was no bread served of any kind, and we didn't order drinks here. We ordered entrees, myself the Blackened Scallop Special with Bleu Cheese Grits & a Tomato Pancetta Chutney. I also ordered a Caesar Salad to start. My date ordered the Grilled Chicken entree and a bowl of the Tomato Basil soup to start. I was brought the wrong salad, and I knew it didn't look right but was going to eat it any way! However the waitress realized that she had brought me a salad that belonged to another table, and took it from me mid bite! She returned with the correct salad. Entrees arrived and were played nicely. We both cleaned our plates, so I would say the food was delicious. My date went on about his soup especially, but he def enjoyed his entree. My entree had a bit too much of the Tomato Chutney in my personal opinion, but it was delicious. Parking for this place was a little strange to figure out. There is a parking lot behind the building and you walk into the iron gates and up to the front desk of the Inn before you are able to get into the restaurant. All in all, I would go back and I would like to sit on the patio when the weather is warmer. I can get past awkward service when the food is good.

Yelp
We live just a few blocks away and decided to head in a few nights ago for dinner. I didn't feel like cooking so it seemed like a good idea for a Thursday night. When we arrived we were informed it was half price wine night-woohoo! We were immediately thankful for that small blessing when we opened the menu. We had not been here in some time, so we were floored by the menu prices. Quite a change since last time we were in but it all sounded delicious so we settled in. We ordered two glasses of red wine and a bowl of lobster bisque to share as an appetizer. For my entrée I ordered crab cakes and my husband ordered the salmon special of the evening. When the entrees arrived, I remarked that we had not received the bisque. The waitress said, "Oh, yeh, I completely forgot to put it in." And. walked. away. My husband's dinner was delicious and mine was as well, although mine was quite cold. When the bill came the wines were not discounted so we had to ask about that and wait for the correction. Overall the food was way overpriced for the quality, the waitress was unenergetic, disinterested, and truly out of her league. Truly, maybe Applebee's. Maybe. We are foodies and we know good food when we have it. We are also willing to pay for good food and cocktails, and service as well! We will not be back.

Yelp
The crab cake is a must! My husband had the blackened Mahi special and loved it. Atmosphere was nice. There was outdoor seating.

Yelp
My name is Seth Nelson. On 3/27/19 I called to inquire about a possible dinner reservation at Cristina Gray's Restaurant in High Point, NC for 4/13/19 for 11 people, in celebration of my mother's birthday. I was looking for a nice restaurant which could offer a private dinning experience for our group. The restaurant was able to accommodate my wish for a private area and accepted my reservation request. During the reservation process I gave the restaurant's employee my telephone number. On 4/8/19 I called to confirm my reservation for 4/13/19 and was told that they would no longer be able to honor that reservation as they had accepted a new booking which required their entire facility. I asked when this new booking had been secured and how much earlier I could have known that my reservation would no longer be honored. The employee said "recently...last week sometime". From a purely business and profitability standpoint I recognize that their decision to not honor a standing reservation in exchange for a guaranteed "full house" was more attractive to their bottom line. I'll leave opinions on a decision to not honor something up to readers of this review. The failure to make a timely notification to a guest who's reservation is no longer being honored is an oversight that should leave a bad taste in any potential diner's mouth. I now have a short window to come up with a new plan for my mother's birthday celebration that will offer us a similar experience to what Cristina Gray's Restaurant had agreed that they could accommodate. A simple phone call from this establishment "last week sometime" would have given me at least a few more days to react. I reckon it's a good thing I called ahead to confirm.

Yelp
Every bit of what we ordered on the menu, came exactly as expected- fresh prepared and flavored with care. The service was great! Our server was prompt and her timing with courses was excellent. The only reason it's not a 5- star rating is ambiance. The Backstreet Boys playing in the background didn't make a lot of sense and it was surprisingly dead considering how good the food is. Will be back!

Yelp
Went on a Thursday night to see a friend's band. Want to give no stars but Yelp doesn't allow me. 1. They didn't have our reservation. 2. Service was slow and un attentive. 3. After placing our order the waitress came back an hour later and asked if I ordered the Lamb chop or the Pork chop? WTF. Canceled my dinner. 4 Table next to us ordered oysters only to be told after 30 mins. that they were out of oysters and would they like the shrimp? Never going back as it was an awful night. I never heard good things about this place, but wanted to see my friend's band play.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Tuesday evening because we had a $50 gift certificate, and ended up glad for the certificate. We arrived for six o'clock reservations, and the hostess had to turn the lights on for us. We were there an hour and a half and were only joined by a couple of other tables. Attractive enough decor, but the acoustics were not very good - we could hear every word from the other tables. The dinner menu looked pretty uninspired, with routine offerings that can be found at much more reasonable prices almost anywhere. "Grilled Black Angus Filet Complimented by a Dried Tomato & Artichoke Basil Bordelaise" for $33. Really? It's a steak. The appetizers looked much more interesting, so we decided to order a bunch. Started with the seafood bisque (forgettable) and onion soup (very good), and then had David (excellent server) deliver a handful of appetizers simultaneously. We had: -Cheeseboard (very routine - nothing special) -Hudson Valley Foie Gras (absolutely fantastic) -Sesame Tuna Tartare (excellent - melts in your mouth) -Flash Fried Chesapeake Oysters (great, but the succotash they were served on was the big hit) -Steamed Prince Edward Island Oysters (among the best I have ever had) Add in a couple of Tanqueray martinis (generously poured) and the total check came to about $100. We would have loved to try the Vanilla bean creme brullee, but we were way too full (and I am NOT a light eater). Very pleasant experience, but definitely not cheap. David also advised of live music on the patio on Thursdays with drink specials. Told us they are a well-kept secret, and I would have to agree.

Yelp
The salmon was overdone. We ordered this from room service and no even check back with a us with a phone call to see if everything was ok. I asked for butter with my initial order and didn't receive it. No bread was offered with our meals either. Would not order from there again.

Yelp
Went there for high tea. The 4 tea selections were good choices and different varieties. The scones were the best, better than at Green Valley Grill. However no clotted cream or whipped butter with them a little disappointing. The finger sandwiches were nice. It would have been better if they put the crab and avocado on a toasted piece of bread. Also other sandwiches could have been put on things other than different types of bread. Nice atmosphere for tea. Would go there again.

Yelp
The good: Phenomenal salads, I had the beet and it was pretty and very tasty. The rack of lamb was cooked perfect and was good, could have used some salt or some more seasoning. The key lime was very very good. The bad: The service was ok. They all seemed super confused. Kept giving everybody the wrong dish and drinks. They even tried to serve us someone else's dinner after we had already eaten!

Mike G.

Yelp
This place doesn't always come to mind for dinner, but definitely a worth while stop. Since the name changed, there has been a notable and positive difference in both the food and service. Enjoy the oysters and succotash as well as the chicken lollipops!

Yelp
If I can give it a 0 I would. The worst service and the pasta was so bland. I eat out on a daily basis, but I felt like the employees here did not care about the service they provided. I guess it was close to closing and they wanted us out. I don't know however I am willing to maybe give it another try and see how it goes. I will update review once I go back

Yelp
I enjoyed a company dinner here during the Furniture Market last week. Our group was seated in a nice courtyard with a large tent like canopy overhead. This setting was at the same time elegant and relaxed. The service was exactly what one would expect at this caliber restaurant; attentive, knowledgeable, engaging. The menu was interesting and very inviting. Our table shared a few appetizers. The cheese platter had a limited but adequate selection of cheeses and breads. Fried calamari was cooked perfectly, lots of flavor and served with a remoulade with a bit of heat mixed in...really good. Entrees all around got high marks from everyone at the table. I had a cup of tomato bisque with shrimp and crab. It had just enough texture to set it apart from a tomato soup and a good mixture of the flavors from each of the ingredients. An excellent dish. I also ordered the New York Strip steak, served with truffle fries and green beans. The steak was seasoned with black pepper and cooked to perfection. A light creamy sauce was an outstanding addition. I would highly recommend Hampton's.

Yelp
The quality of our food and service certainly deserves this 5 star rating! Excellent server! We each had the 6 ounces filet, and they were absolutely divine! The chopped salad not only had a most excellent presentation, but also a fantastic taste! Key lime pie for dessert finished off our most excellent meal! Would return and certainly recommend others try!

Dawn R.

Yelp
Love this place. I drive an extra half hour for my business trips so I can stay at the inn and have dinner at the bar. Menu changes often enough to keep it interesting, with standard dishes that are always exceptional. Try the tomato bisque soup and tuna tartar appetizer. You will not be disappointed.

Jason S.

Yelp
We booked this restaurant based on their "online" menu but they had changed their menu to a "market" menu for the Furniture Market. Unfortunately, they raised the prices A LOT and the food quality went down. I would suggest to the restaurant that they DO NOT change their menu during the market week and stick to the same PRICES as normal times. This will hurt their business in the future

Thomas B.

Yelp
Great hidden gem in high point! Wow the food was so good we didn't mind paying a little higher price than normal chain restaurants. The strip steak was the most tender strip I have ever had at a restaurant. And the gnocchi was so fluffy and wonderful!!!

Nicole H.

Yelp
We had high tea here with our entire family and we were really impressed with the quality and the quantity of the food and tea! Such a beautiful venue and such great staff! We have booked JH Adams Inn for our wedding ceremony and reception in 2014 and could not be more impressed with the service this far! Leeann is great to work with and has been quick to respond to any questions we have!
