MICHELIN Green Star Community in Argentina: Inspiring Actions Across the Country

"A two-decade-old address in the capital that treats innovation as the story behind a dish, this restaurant is pursuing B Corp certification to balance people, the environment, the community, and the business. It pioneered serving filtered water, avoids single-use plastic by replacing cling film with lidded containers, and uses 100% of each ingredient—especially fish arriving daily from the Atlantic coast. Owner-chef Gabriel Oggero travels north to learn from Andean potato farmers and south to Patagonia to speak with fishermen; meanwhile, a three-floor cellar increasingly highlights organic and biodynamic wines (100+ labels). The flagship is oysters: long-standing work in Los Pocitos with collectors, a biologist, and a vet created a traceable, sustainable ecosystem, and moving filtering and cleaning to the village cut the carbon footprint while generating local jobs." - The MICHELIN Guide

Inside Buenos Aires: Chef Gonzalo Aramburu's Favorite Spots

"At the end of the day I love dining at Crizia, Gabriel Oggero’s seafood-focused restaurant that this year earned a well-deserved MICHELIN Star; working closely with small producers and artisanal fishermen, the experience often begins with an oyster and unfolds through à la carte options or two tasting menus—Pure Sea and Earth Sea—highlighting daily arrivals like oysters from Carmen de Patagones and the freshest fish (amberjack, grouper, sole, Patagonian toothfish), alongside select meats and vegetables sourced around Argentina." - Guía MICHELIN

"The contemporary loft-style vibe in the dining room contributes to the sophisticated ambience and makes it the perfect option for a date or to impress friends. This includes intimate lighting and professional service, with the team attentive to every detail and keen for customers to leave completely satisfied. Owner-chef Gabriel Oggero works with small-scale independent producers, fishermen and farmers in order to source the very best seasonal ingredients (the restaurant also has its own rooftop city garden). Oysters are a particular speciality and fish-lovers will delight in a menu which is completely focused on seafood and shellfish. The à la carte includes charcoal- and wood-grilled dishes such as the succulent roasted Peking Duck. An expertly curated wine list, featuring a good choice of wines by the glass, provides the perfect accompaniment." - Michelin Inspector

Crizia was incredible. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere engulfs you, transporting you out of the busy city into a tranquil space. Crizia attention to details is unmatched. All aspects of the restaurant is perfectly curated from the dining room, to the kitchen, wine cellar, to the table flatware and food presentation. The staff worked seamlessly as a team servicing all diners ensuring they received thw most incredible experience. I had the four course tasting menu with a the mixed wine tasting. The in house sommelier was exacting in his pairing selections. During his explanations of each pairing you could feel his love for wine and Argentina. Many members of the staff are bilingual allowing non native speakers the opportunity to enjoy the dining experience to the fullest. Will definitely return.

We randomly stumbled upon Crizia while looking for dinner, and were glad we did. The sweet bread and oysters were incredible. The sommelier recommended the perfect wines for our dinners. Great dinner, ambiance and service.

FOODIE’S TRAVEL FOR FOOD, always watching for culinary/gastronomic creativity that delights the eyes, the nose and of course, the palate… We searched out CRIZIA, a 50-Discovery restaurant, with high expectations….. BUT IT FAILS TO IMPRESS😑😑😑… Good food overall BUT quite unremarkably average. For an EXPENSIVE TASTING MENU, it DOES NOT MEASURE UP to similar 50-Discovery restaurants. 😑 flavors and textures are unexciting, they DO NOT arouse the palate. 🫤 there’s very little nose to main palate. 🫤🫤 🫤 🫤🫤THERE ARE SERIOUS FAUX PAS in 3 major courses 👎 Serving FRESH OYSTERS TOPPED WITH SAUCES, etc IS MONUMENTAL MISTAKE. Oysters MUST be served in its pristine state. One has to be able to taste the sea, to taste the waters they grow in!! For a restaurant that claims to have “discovered” the first oysters in Argentina, THEY DESTROY THE FRESHNESS AND SIMPLICITY OF THE OYSTERS… 👎 The PATAGONIAN LAMB FAILS to highlight the favor and texture of the lamb. The serving of 2 very tiny pieces crumble with a slice of the knife. ALL THAT ONE TASTES IS THE SAUCE OR MARINADE. This lamb dish has little aroma or fragrance of a meat dish! 👎 The Dessert titled “Imagination” is more of a question whether the chef had any imagination at all!!! It’s simple quenelle of UNREMARKABLE sorbet and slices of fruit. Then there’s a similarly UNIMAGINATIVE duo of chocolates. 🤗🤗🤗 A bright spot of the dinner is the WILD MUSHROOMS…complex yet delicate flavors and contrasting textures 🤗🤗🤗 Another bright spot is the SECRET OF THE OCEAN a lovely medley of seafood and fish roe, dominated by langostine. The sauces are silky and delicate. Service is good.

Our visit to Crizia revealed a beautiful space with truly impressive architecture and exquisite food presentation. The staff were pleasant and attentive However, the experience was mixed. While a few dishes were excellent, our entrees, unfortunately, didn't quite meet the high expectations set by the restaurant's reputation. They were good but lacked a truly exceptional finish. The wine service was somewhat disappointing. Seeking guidance, the staff seemed less experienced. They recommended a $200 bottle which, unfortunately, showed noticeable off-flavors (likely Brettanomyces). Combined with $35 cocktails, the value proposition felt strained. Crizia excels in ambiance and visual details, but the inconsistency in the main courses and the wine selection misstep made for a less outstanding evening than we'd hoped.

Fine dining restaurant with a delay for twenty years. Meals with foam, complex dishes with extravagant ingredients, but they really try to give a great service. It’s worth a try and make own opinion.

Absolutely unique, divine & wonderfully delicious! Every bite was a delight to the taste buds…we were blown away! The wait staff were the most attentive, anticipating everything we would want - before we knew we wanted it! If an exquisite dining experience is what you’re looking for, please go to the wonderful Crizia! It was most definitely a highlight of our trip! We asked our waiter if the owners weren’t too busy to come out to say hello & Gabriel & Geri came out to allow us to shower them with praise. What a treat the entire night was! I will go back to BA just to eat at Crizia again! ¡Buenisimo!

An amazing experience and an absolute gem of a restaurant . We were able to snag a reservation and from the start the staff was very responsive. We ordered the 4 course tasting menu and each dish was incredible. The sommelier did great with the wine pairings - even for my husband who typically prefers beer. They had great attention to detail making sure our water was always full and each dish was cleared right after we finished. Wonderful date night and ranks as one of the best meals we’ve ever had in both quality of the food and ambience of the place.

Really enjoyed my experience doing the 7 course tasting menu. The oysters were a highlight! Got there on the early side, it seemed like the wait staff was a little too attentive until more people arrived and they settled into service. But overall wonderful food and great value for the price!!
