Con: Bottom shelf liquor is being poured into top shelf liquor bottles here. Folks, you're NOT getting actual Titos. Or even Casamigos . What you're gonna actually get is one hell of a HANGOVER from drinking the cheap stuff this establishment is serving 🤢. Shady business practice SMH. Fix this, or TABC will be notified. Pro: Bartenders are quick. Mixed crowd. Great music. Good security.

I very much enjoyed this bar! The security guard outside is professional and a gentleman. Great ambience, and the music was diverse. The bar staff were very attentive and the drinks very much worth it and at a great price! Outside patio seating available. If you want somewhere with great drinks and a great conversation this is the place to go!

I frequent Crocker as I'm bar hopping, enjoying the wonderful night life of Montrose in Houston, the energy, the pulse of the crowd, bodies moving in concert with the music, sweat glistening on everyone, moving your feet, swaying the hips ,beverages on lips don't forget to tip

Normally I have fun here but my last few experiences have been poor, the catty behavior of patrons to the antagonizing attitudes of security & staff is beginning to become too much. I say this as someone who regularly visits this bar. Hopefully things turn around soon.

MUSIC,STAFF,ATMOSPHERE,AND THE DRINKS!!!! this place is the perfect little bar and I hope it stays there forever!! music is always great at any time! staff is super fun and nice! (door people , bartenders , barracks, and even the host of karaoke ! , or DJ ) its a smaller bar yet its super spacious with a killer patio that wraps around, perfect for starting conversions DRINKS ARE SO CHEAP and STRONG you'll come back every week!

Always have tons of fun when coming to this bar. Staff is friendly, drinks are cheap, and the music is great! They have a nice patio, and a large dance floor. The set up of the place isn't fancy, but it's cozy. The one downfall of the bar for me is the ONE restroom stall they have in the girls bathroom. The line can be a bit of a wait sometimes, but other than that I highly recommend stopping by :)

Beware of this place great vibes great service but the alcohol has been watered down and I'm gonna tell you how I know. I had a weight loss surgery less then a year ago which means 80 percent of my stomach has been removed. There for when I consume any alcohol within the first drink to drink to a drink and a half I'm already buzzed and ready to back down I had 5 tequila cocktails and was NOT BUZZED at all everyone else in my party said the same thing they are not drinkers but they all had 4 plus drinks because there was no buzz happening no silly of us to continue purchasing yes I'm aware but we was looking for a good time and at the end of the night collectively came together and noticed non of the 10 of us was buzzed. I think if you go here you should pregame and order bottled beers maybe but the alcohol has definitely been cut with water.

Security forcefully harassed a female patron. They tried to feel up on her boobs when we came in and there was no female security to check her so she was very uncomfortable and refused. They dragged her to the street because she was uncomfortable. She is 5'5", the guard was 6'4" handling her like a man. She was assaulted for no reason. We will be pressing charges.

The staff is rude and rushed but this is a classic Houston Gay bar that will never go out of style. Would like to see a better cocktail menu, super basic

Assaulted by bouncer when trying to pay for parking. This happened Saturday night 5/7/22, into 5/8/22, the bouncer asked me to pay for parking for my sister to be allowed back in. As I was walking back into the bar, the man came from behind me, yanked me by my left arm, and pushed me out. When I called the bar to let them know the man grabbed me, they said I was lying, that they had looked at the footage and would not help any further. I have been to this bar many times, each time it gets increasingly worse, and the crowd gets more and more sparse. I will never go to Crocker again. For your safety, and those around you, DO NOT GO HERE. The bouncer is about 5'6", maybe 165, gaunt with gaps in his teeth, and a bald head. Absolutely terrifying and angry man, should not be allowed to touch young women.

This bar has really good drink prices. The bartenders are typically friendly and the atmosphere is nice as well. This is a nice place to go with friends for a casual drink or two. Sundays is a good time to go for Sunday Funday.

The bouncer/security guy assaulted my girlfriend when she was just doing what he told her to do which was to get the parking receipt from the bar to show to him so that we could prove that I was from in there already and only stepped out to answer a phone call. He wouldn't let me back in. As soon as she went inside to get the parking receipt he grabbed her arm and pulled her forcefully and screamed in her face that she was not going anywhere. Left bruises on her arm by how hard he pulled! And the manager we spoke with did not even want to listen to her when she was asking for help. Totally uncalled for. DO NOT GO HERE! There are better places.

Soooo previously I gave a four start. Ima frequent flyer here. Buuuuuttt I met Xavier today he saw me charging my phone on basically the floor. He grabbed a table and a chair for me to sit by my ohone. That kind of shit is what people recognize. CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! This guy was the most. Attentive great customer service and wonderful conversation. Look for him. He's great.

A small little place to grab drinks and chat with friends, it was a quick stop in and a quick stop out. Nothing too fancy or exciting but a quaint little spot to stop in and see. Located in the Montrose area you are always bound to see some excitement and interesting things happening.

I stopped in for a charity event they were hosting. The music was good, the MC was both cute and funny and the entire bar staff was in drag for the event! Talk about a friendly staff! I sat at the bar enjoying my drinks and the show, as people came to the bar and asked me if I was new in the area, they'd buy me a drink! This neighborhood bar is filled with friendly folks. I watched the bartenders work at lightening speed while smiling and greeting every guest.

After visiting George's bar down the street, the dive felt like the Taj Mahal. Service was fast and friendly and you can't really mess up a bottle of Michelob Ultra (which was about the best beer they had, can you imagine?). Friendly crowd, nice porch to stand on if you can find some clean air. This isn't a knock on this place, I just don't get why so many people in Houston smoke. Outside was nice but it was almost like being in Italy because so many people were smoking. It's amazing how many people are cute until they put a Marlboro between their lips and then they look like Steve Buscemi .

This is the place to be if you want to dance your ass off! The DJ is good! Drinks are strong and people and staff are great! Super friendly atmosphere! No matter where the night begins we always end up at Crocker!!

Great drink prices, cool bartenders. It's Karaoke night on Thursday's, which is always fun to see drunks sing.

I've been patronizing this bar since it opened, but this past Thursday was absolutely the worst experience ever, my friend and I was bought a shot by a drunk man who happened to be sitting next to me, after he bought us our shots he told us to go, he was acting weird and had his hands on me so I moved and told the bartender. Well we was told the drunk man was the bar manager and he wanted us to leave. No reason whatsoever was given to us. I believe they need a new manager. Please owners look into it. We will be back when he is No longer employed.

This is a cute little older house turned into a dive bar, situated in a neighborhood with street parking and a small lot. It was our first stop of the night and kind of early, so it wasn't very busy yet. Drinks were strong and cheap which I love. I got my favorite simple drink, Deep Eddy Lemon vodka and soda! This inside was small and there was a DJ playing music. They had a small outside patio for smoking and heaters to keep warm. I must say, we were all very put off by the strong odor of vomit and piss upon entering the bar. It was so strong and foul we could smell it out on the side patio as well. The photo booth is also a nice touch, and the walls are covered with other patrons pictures. This is a good starter bar and parking is free and pretty easy. Other bars aren't too far off, so you could walk if the weather is nice. I would return, just hope they fix that horrible smell outside!

Saying this is basically the "gay Cheers!" would sum it up. This is a fun little Montrose bar. The crowd is mostly attractive, 20s and 30 something men with some women thrown in here and there. The patrons are very friendly and fun to be around. Bartenders have a heavy pour and the friendly owner Grey keeps the prices super cheap. There is never a cover charge. This bar also offers some fun Karaoke on Thursday and Sunday nights with different hosts to spice it up. Patrons bring in food on Sundays on occassion and the bar hosts benefits and Art Shows frequently. Darts - Pool - Bar Arcade - Digital Jukebox Check it out.

My girls are new to Houston clubs decided to try to find other single ladies here to mingle with. As we quickly learned, Crocker Bar is mainly a Male focused club which was disappointing for my friends but it does not disappoint when it comes to cheap drinks. That's a nice feature in addition to some entertaining stages in the side room. I like Crocker but it did not fit the purpose of our night.

This place serves the strongest drinks I've ever had in my life. Kinda small but if you're bar hopping it's a great place to end the night for sure.

Love this bar!! Drink pours are always great, price is great, and the atmosphere is amazing!! Love this place if you just want a fun night out. Music is a huge variety but it definitely is dance for the most part. Everybody is doing there own thing and there is no judgment passed here. Come check out this place for sure.

Came here with my girls for the first time and had a blast. Let me just say that the music was on point. The DJ played todays hits as well as some nostalgic bangers. Feel free to dance all night or be a wallflower; there is a balanced mix of both here. Drinks are strong and pretty cheap with many options for shots on special. Everyone on staff was very friendly! This was supposed to be our first stop of many but we ended up staying all night. My friends and I all agreed this divey bar has earned its place as one of our regular spots!

I've been here numerous times. It's my go to gay bar: shouldn't expect rude ness from staff and company and that's all hat happen. It's my second year anniversary and I thought or expected it to be different. I will never come here again, Regardless of the situation, I will not return. You chose a regular or a slash co worker to trump a very what could of been great TAB. Make sure you have friend s before you go bet

I'm not much of a fan of bars or clubs in general, but I was pleasantly surprised with Crocker. Got there about 9:30pm/10:00pm and it was pretty much dead; didn't get busy until almost 11:00pm. Drinks were fairly priced and service quick. Security was also polite and helped keep the drink ledges clear of empties, as there are no waiters. Music selection was good and varied, though they played music videos on the TVs completely unrelated to the music playing on the speakers.

I've been a long time patron of this establishment, but after the way the staff treated my friends, I will NEVER set foot in this place again. My friends were kicked out for grabbing each others behind's while in line at the bathroom. They were told to stop and they did immediately. They were then later approached and asked to leave the bar because of this. Are you KIDDING ME?!?! FAR more offensive stuff goes on in this bar on a regular basis and they staff always turn a blind eye to it.... constant drug deals, people doing drugs in the bathrooms and FAR more gratuitous sexual stuff than two partners grabbing each others behinds. After talking to more people in the Houston gay community who frequent this bar, I've heard more and more horror stories about poor treatment of customers & shady staff. SHAME ON THIS BAR, it's staff & the owner. You've lost a customer for life.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for a bit of day drinking while I was in town, and found this place to be pretty much a typical small gay bar. The inside is very dark, with a moderately sized dance floor and stage, and the outside is a decent sized wrap-around patio. Drink prices were average that I could tell, just like the crowd. I don't dislike the Crocker Bar, but I don't like it either - very "meh."

I have never been a big fan of driving all the way to Houston to go out as I live almost an hour away. I will however come here any time I have the chance! The music was a great mix of old and new, the staff was phenomenal. I can't even begin to explain how much fun my friends and I had. Can't wait to go back, this is going to be a new regular spot for the girls and I!!!

Our favorite gayborhood dive bar! Karaoke here is more fun and a lot more laid back than the ones at JR's or Guava Lamp (try singing badly at either of those two places and see if you don't get any death stares -- apparently they're all really serious about karaoke). You'll also get to have your turn more often. Being a dive bar, the decor can range from campy to ghastly, but that's part of its charm. I miss the days when Lady Baa Baa (an oversized fake sheep) ruled the small stage. She probably met her untimely end as someone's dress. Drinks here are the cheapest you will find in the gayborhood, especially on Sundays. Bartenders are always nice and polite (and one of them will usually take their shirt off). Music can be a little loud, with your typical Mariah Carey-Kylie Minogue songs always playing, but it's a great place to get away from the crowds at JRs or the snobs at F Bar. Don't get me wrong, I like F Bar but sometimes I just wanna be able to let my hair down, you know?

Been there -- umm.. it is okay. The drinks are cheap and th the bartenders are nice. They have a really nice patio, which is typically full. I just get the feel of this being a "JR's" light. However, I haven't been on the weekends or special events -- so they may have something more to offer -- just feels a bit blah.

You can't beat the prices! Great place to hang out with friends with the cheapest drinks in the Montrose area! Sunday's are very fun and great music and doesn't get any better than that!

Crocker bar! If you want a good drink and an environment that's laid back this is your place. Service is consistently good and you can even go and smoke on the patio. Gets noisy the later it gets but overall a good place for a strong drink at a good price.

One of my favorite bars! The vibe, the people, the drinks are all awesome! I always meet awesome people here. They're always down to chat and laugh. Wish everybody was this friendly!

Always love dropping in here. During day its chill and very laid back with cheap drinks and friendly staff. Night is fun if a lot busier. Staff is always great. Probably the most diverse and accepting bars in the gayborhood.

I rarely come here anymore since everything has changed but I typically have had a great experience. However, This all changed a few weeks ago. The door people and staff were very rude and belligerent with me. I was drinking a cheap cocktail on the patio and needed to use the restroom before I left. It was closing time and apparently no one is allowed to enter the building even if you're on the patio. They basically refused to let me use the restroom even after I've been drinking. I've been to hundreds of Houston bars and I've never experienced an establishment that would not let me use the restroom so close to closing. I would suggest hiring new door people!

Stiff drinks for $3.75. Can't beat that. Music could be a little better at times but this place will always show you a good time.

Perfect dive bar in the heart of Montrose. Make sure you take time to have your picture taken in the photo booth. The drinks are cheap and the service is good. I was literally the only girl in the place when I went on a Sunday afternoon for a little Sunday funday, but I guess that's pretty typical of a gay bar :) will definitely be back!

I don't write many reviews anymore because I'm busy AF with law school but I wanted to take time out of my studies to write about my especially poor treatment at Crocker. I've been a consistent customer for almost five years and have spent thousands cumulatively over that time frame. I went last night and will never spend another dollar here after what went down with the white, bearded, 5'10 bartender with the otter body type. Homeboy got my order wrong to begin with, I ordered a Stella and Malibu/pineapple. He gave me a modelo instead of a Stella and I told him. He fixed it and he told me it would be 10 dollars. This was my first drink of the night so I wasn't intoxicated at this point whatsoever and able to remember everything clearly. I gave him $12. We come back for round two, he takes an exceptionally long time and then he has the nerve to call me out in front of all the customers saying, "Did you see what I did there, I skipped you and served the other customers because you didn't tip." I was shocked, considering I left a 20% tip and I explained to him that I left 12 dollars on a 10 dollar tab, he doesn't believe it. Listen, I understand that with the noise of the music and the hecticness of the bar, remembering everything is hard, but to treat me like that, someone who actually tipped, left me simply shocked. I will never come back to this trash bar.

Love this bar!!! Cheap drinks and a fantastic staff! Love open mic night on Monday's. It's a great place to listen to some really talented people sing or perform comedy and the environment is always so supportive. Wednesdays and Sundays are great too! The karaoke is perfect if you're not trying to be super serious about your singing and just wanna have a good time. The hosts are always funny and make everyone laugh. One of the best gay bars in town!!!!

This bar is somewhat great on Sunday nights, they have very cheap STRONG vodka that will make you want to dance. This place is filled with mainly Hispanic & white males who love retro music with a twist of Beyoncé & Gaga! At the end of the night they play a lot of salsa & bachata. Around 11:30pm the dance floor was almost cleared out. But the crowd kind of came back around 1am. But the patio in the front and back is always filled with pretty males. Everyone is mingling. These little love bugs who enjoy this bar are wild! Free kisses to everyone!! Lol be aware of bad body odor everybody is sweating from no air circulating through out the building except for the open doors. As a mixed black girl, this bar isn't my favorite but it's somewhere to dance like no one is looking!

Friends and I have been coming to this bar for half a year, and I can tel you we call this place home. The staff here are amazing; I wouldn't even call them "staff" they're more like family. The music is poppin and the drink are cheap af!!

Gross divey gay bar. But they serve really cheap strong drinks all day/night. But isn't that usually the case for dive bars haha? It gets a surprising amount of foot traffic and is definitely a possible stop when bar hoping or sunday funday-ing. Surprisingly, there are no professional dancers here even on the peak nights. It's mostly an open floor with no seats/tables so sometimes patrons will dance but it's not a strictly dancing venue.

Apparently they charge for cover sometimes? Like the patio. Drinks are ok. Restroom is too small and dirty. "Top scene" supposedly haha.

On January 23rd, my partners were in line for the restroom and touching each others butts, the bar back said that was inappropriate and they said "Ok". We were then approached in front of friends by security that we needed to leave. We go here every week and the embarrassment was ridiculous. After talking to the owner, he sided with his security. This bar owner is losing our business after we have been going here since day one. I will not support this bar any longer. I will promote other bars and events to draw business away from Crocker Bar.

Horrible. They put cheap vodka in their Grey Goose bottles. I know the taste of Grey Goose and this wasnt it. It tastes more like Taka.

Love this place and the atmosphere. Feels like a familiar place, especially when going here with friends to hang out on the deck or chill inside. One of the best bars in montrose. Also all the staff are cool and friendly!!! Don't change!

I would dare to say this is the worst gay bar in Houston. If I could rate lower I would. They are not ADA friendly and think having a wheelchair ramp is the only requirement. You cannot get a wheelchair in the restrooms. The owner drinks at the bar and makes an ass of himself. While he was really drunk one night he kicked me out and 86'd me for being in a wheelchair. The drinks are watered down, overpriced,the bar is dirty, the only good thing I can say about it is the karaoke is good. Customers are not appreciated.

Unless you are with someone that knows the bartender, don't expect to be waited on quickly. Let the bartender have his drink first.

I have been going to Crocker for years. Always a good time and laid back crowd. Not for the pretentious. The staff is friendly, the drinks strong and cheap, and the crowd fun. I miss my nights (and days) at this place and I miss the people who work and play here. Can't wait to stop by next time I'm in Houston.

Love this place, Cheap drinks, no cover (most of the time) , and a fun crowd. No pretentious attitude like most bars in that area. The Bartenders are really cool and friendly. GREAT DJ on Fridays !!!

The first time I went to this dirty little hole the place was full of tiny loud-mouthed cha-cha queens. That's OK if you're into little bitty brown marys which I am not. The bathroom was unsanitary with urine standing an inch high on the floors. The drinks were poured strong, that is true. But the liquor is the cheapest available probably from across the border. I had such a hangover the next day. Second time, and last time to spend time in this dump I was pick-pocketed and had my wallet stolen. The owner Grey something is really creepy too. When I told him my wallet was stolen he got very defensive saying he can't be held responsible for what his customers do. Duh. I wasn't even accusing him. Be careful if you spend time there, leave your wallet in the car and get a Tetanus shot first.
