Where to Eat and Drink Near Great Smoky Mountains National Park | Eater

"A day on the trail requires a hearty morning meal, and few places in Gatlinburg fit the bill quite like Crockett’s Breakfast Camp, named in honor of local frontiersman David C. “Crockett” Maples, who developed regional renown offering home-cooked breakfasts to travelers. His spirit lives on in this sprawling cabin-style brunch restaurant with a lot to look at — whiskey barrels, stone fireplaces, canoes, and a giant wooden statue of Crockett himself greeting you at the door. Savory, robust rations like biscuit sandwiches, corned beef hash, and country fried steak come with a side of sweet corn pone, while more indulgent options include fried cinnamon rolls, pecan-studded waffles, and fluffy buckwheat pancakes flecked with granola and bananas." - Matt Kirouac

Breakfast was great. Was hesitant to visit here with all the mixed reviews. Glad we went. Parking is very limited, definitely not worth paying $20 at the parking lots down the street. We drove around the back and found a parking spot on the street (free parking) we went around 9:30am wait was about 5 minutes. We ordered the Western omelette and the Aretha pancake griddles, hubby and I shared both these dishes, both were very yummy. Honestly we each could have eaten our own omelette as it was not as big as we expected. The pancakes were big definitely shareable, even one would have been enough to share. The only thing I was not happy with not once did our waitress come refill our coffee. Other than that we would go back. Once we left there was a huge crowd outside waiting to be seated. If we had to wait longer to be seated we would still be ok with that as food was yummy.

I really liked the pancakes and they made the difference between 3 and 4 stars. Several people recommended this place and it is definitely a tourist favorite. We tried going at 8:30 and were scared away by the wait. We went a little after 7 the next day and sat down immediately. It was about 2-3 minutes from ordering to being served, so I know all of it was waiting under a heat lamp in the back. The chicken fried steak suffered for it and was a disappointment. The pancakes were still good and saved the experience. The coffee wasn’t good. It wasn’t weak, which is usually the culprit, but was a bad brew and unusually bitter. There are a lot of other options and I don’t think I would go back. The atmosphere and cleanliness were better than other breakfasts we had in the area and the food, except for the pancakes, about average.

Food was delicious! The cinnamon rolls are ginormous! Pancakes are thick! We got there around 11:15 AM and didn’t get seated until after 12:30 PM but it was worth the wait. We just went in some stores while we waited. The portions were plenty big.

I'm still thinking about my breakfast we had here on our last day at the mountains. It was so good. Best breakfast food place in Gatlinburg hands down. We joined the wait list online, and when we got there I think we only waited about 5 minutes. It was very busy, but still very high quality service. And the food was delicious 🤤

We were excited to eat at Crockett’s today. The online waitlist is a nice feature and after we checked it, we didn’t have to wait too long. The tables are spacious and menus on newspapers. We all ordered and I felt that the temperature of the food did not feel fresh. I had the pot roast eggs Benedict and it would have been better if it was hotter. The coffee is strong. The thick pancakes are very filling, order the smallest stack. Next time, I will have to try a cinnamon roll.

Love the vibes this place has. Very southern country side American breakfast. Loved the pancakes here!! I tried the buckwheat pecan pancakes which are thinner than their original pancakes. I loved them. I asked for butter on the sides with maple syrup and strawberries on top. It was delicious 🤤 I tried the strawberry 🍓 juice which was delicious too. Also had the huge cinnamon roll which was massive even for the table. My friends had to takeaway a few items. Overall would recommend this place for American breakfast. Also be prepared to wait for a few minutes to few hours here. It’s crazy crowded and popular in Gatlingburg trip.

Google
This is such a charming restaurant with some unique menu items. I ordered the pot roast Benedict and my companion ordered the pancakes. We split the deep fried cinnamon roll. That may have been the best eggs Benedict of my life. The pot roast was so tender and flavorful. The biscuits were so moist and fluffy. And I go to try corn pone for the first time ever (It's delicous). The cinnamon roll was so good but definitely too much for even two of us to eat. It's HUGE.

Comforting breakfast with amazing vibes! The breakfast here is truly comforting — fresh, flavorful, and satisfying. The coffee is top-notch and always hits the spot. The staff are super friendly and welcoming, which adds to the warm, cozy vibe.Loved our server. She is super sweet and a good person. Love the atmosphere and how consistent the quality is every time. Highly recommend for a peaceful, delicious start to your day! I like it better than pancake pantry for the options, taste and parking availability.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best breakfast places I've ever ate at. Food was so delicious and the service was just as good! Definitely going to be my go to whenever I'm in Gatlinburg! The prices were a bargain also!

Yelp
Brunch goals officially unlocked at @crockettsbreakfastcamp in Gatlinburg, TN--and yes, the 2-hour wait was 100% worth it! This place is everything you'd want in a mountain breakfast experience--log cabin vibes, rustic décor, woodsy charm, and even the menus are on-theme. The moment you step in, it feels like stepping back in time... but with a legendary brunch ahead. We kicked things off with the infamous Giant Cinnamon Roll. Massive? YES. Drenched in icing? Absolutely. Worth the hype for the 'gram, but flavor-wise it leaned more "fun to look at" than "can't-stop-eating." Still a solid way to start. Three of us went with different versions of the Crockett's Mountain Omelet--each one packed with fillings, flavor, and serious size. We're talking omelets that practically need their own zip code. You won't leave hungry, that's for sure. The candied apples on the side didn't quite hit the mark--they needed more time to soften--but the Fresh-Made Biscuit? Surprisingly more like a soft dinner roll than a traditional flaky biscuit. Not bad, just not what we expected. Now let's talk MVP status... The Peanut Butter & Jelly French Toast. This was my kind of heaven. As a lifelong PB&J fan, this hit every note--warm, gooey, perfectly toasted, and bursting with nostalgic flavor in every bite. I would absolutely order this again without hesitation. Our waitress was fast, friendly, and on top of everything--props to the staff for holding it down during such a busy rush. Final verdict: Ambiance, service, and food all came together for a brunch experience we won't forget. If you're in Gatlinburg, put Crockett's Breakfast Camp on your list--and get there early, or prepare to wait with patience and appetite. #CrockettsBreakfastCamp #GatlinburgEats #MountainBrunchMagic #PBJFrenchToast #GiantCinnamonRoll #SouthernBreakfastVibes #TennesseeEats #BrunchWithAView #FoodieAdventures #RusticDiningDoneRight #WorthTheWait

Yelp
We had a wonderful experience eating here for brunch one day while on vacation. The service was friendly and quick, and our lovely server somehow remembered 9 orders without writing a single thing down... impressive! As for the food, we all enjoyed everything. Classic breakfast food at a fair price. The omelets came stuffed with meat, the sausage patties didn't feel too greasy or salty, and my apple waffles were satisfying as well. I will say I didn't particularly like the texture of both the waffles or pancakes but they tasted nice. Be sure to get in line early or call ahead if you're hungry as it gets incredibly busy on the weekends!

Yelp
Our first stop to eat upon arriving in Pigeon Forge was for a good ol country breakfast. I read about quite a few options but I saw these thick pancakes for Crockett's and decided on them. We called in to check on the wait, an hour and 40 mins.. so we asked to be put on waitlist. Be prepared to wait! Now it's set in Gatlinburg once known as White Oak Flats.. there's a lot of history behind the name and the building takes you back in time itself. Parking is a challenge as only few spots in front and behind it; there are plenty of $20 pay to park lots and garages around. Just so happens the restaurant across the street allows you to park for free. The restaurant decor is scene of old western, rustic mountain country cabin vibes. The decor, props and framed wall pieces all tell a story as well.. Appalachian living. It was a very hot day, full sunshine so even though there's log benches outside it was not ideal. In the interior way there's a few more benches. Continuing with the theme, the menu is a black & white print newspaper White Oak Daily Post with articles. Our waitress was busy but attentive and friendly. She helped offering breakfast recommendations. My mom ordered Griddle pancakes called Aretha Frankenstein's Pancake, turkey sausage and over easy eggs; mine was Stuffed strawberry cream cheese French toast, bacon, over easy eggs and potatoes. Our food came out pretty fast, about 15 mins give or take. It looked delicious. Upon digging in, I realized not all my food was hot or warm.. my bacon and eggs were cool. The FT was cinnamon, sweet and fruity goodness. Those pancakes are very thick, and have a cornbread taste to them. Overall it was good just wish it came out hot. We tried to speak to someone after our meal but could never get a managers attention.

Yelp
Crockett's Breakfast Camp was a truly mediocre experience for us. Perhaps we should have gone with a lumberjack-type staple, indicative of the region we were visiting, but we both opted for a simple, basic breakfast. In my opinion, the pecan-smoked bacon was flavorful and delicious. The scrambled eggs with cheese were slightly undercooked, like a little "wet". The biscuit's texture was superb. Extra soft and fluffy. The Cherokee Sweet Corn pone, which I'd never had previously, was surprisingly yummy. I was happy that I tried it. There was also fresh fruit (orange wedges, grapes and honeydew). In regard to the atmosphere, I loved the on-brand, themed Smokey Mountain decor. The rustic, log cabin with taxidermy bears was pretty cool. I also loved the big cast iron cauldrons sitting over the non-existent fire (it was in the high 90 degree range during our entire visit). There were a lot of people waiting outside for tables, so I was happy that I put us on the waitlist before we ever left our Airbnb. Once we arrived, our wait was just about 5 minutes or so...putting it at approximately 40-45 minutes total. When we signed up, there were 34 parties ahead of us! Had I physically waited outside, I'd say it wasn't worth it, but our server was fast and efficient. She took good care of us and handled business. Lastly, we noticed that all of the African-American/Black employees appeared to be "back of house", meaning they were the food runners or the bussers (perhaps dishwashersand/or cooks, too)... none were servers. I kept looking for the exception to the rule, but could not find one. Just an observation. Perhaps none of those employees applied to the host or server positions, but we thought that to be a bit odd. P.S. The table we sat at was a bit sticky and we noticed a lot of dust on the back of the chairs. Management should make sure they get a good wiping down!

Yelp
There's not much I can say that hasn't already been covered in the multitude of reviews. It definitely lives up to all the hype. What a breakfast place. A very large seating area with a rustic old cabin motif. Cool menus that look like an old time western newspaper right from the Davy Crockett ara. And a huge stone fire place complete with big hanging cast iron cooking pots. Biggest and best delicious breakfast meals I've ever seen or tasted. The pancakes are more like just cakes. They're that tall. And when they say skillet breakfast they mean a real 10 inch cast iron skillet! When I seen these coming out of the kitchen it kinda scared me (lol) so I wound up going with the Grandma Hattie's French Toast with blueberries and home whip cream. It was amazing. Oh and I had to get a side of that Pecan Smoked Bacon. Oh My Gosh! A must when in Gatlinburg TN. I would definitely suggest a call ahead or get there when it opens. This place is crazy busy.

Yelp
So, on Tuesday morning around 10 am, and it was pretty busy! We waited about an hour for a table, but that's understandable. Our server the one with the ponytail! was super busy, but when he finally got to us, things were a little... odd. He just kinda tossed our drinks and straws on the table. No biggie, we totally get it, but it was a bit of a funny moment. Honestly though, the place is gorgeous! It's got this really cool Southern vibe, the decor is amazing. The food was great overall, but let me tell you about the pancakes OMG Seriously, if I'd known how amazing they were, I would have just ordered a stack of those and called it a day. We also got a fried cinnamon roll incredible! I tried the chopped steak and eggs. The chopped steak was... well, let's just say it's basically a fancy hamburger patty. It was a pink in the middle, but the gravy and shredded potatoes were delicious. It came in this huge skillet talk about a feast! with grits, extra gravy, a pancake, shredded potatoes, sweet cornbread, and a biscuit. We also shared the Black Bear Camp Skillet country ham salty and good and the Postmaker's Favorite country fried steak yum which was my favorite dish. The old-fashioned waffle was okay, but honestly, nothing beats those pancakes. I wish we had a place like this back home! One thing to note the menu is presented like a newspaper, which is a neat touch. And parking can be a nightmare if it's busy you might have to use a parking garage nearby. Overall, a really fun experience! Despite the slightly chaotic service, the food and atmosphere were fantastic. Definitely recommend the pancakes.

Yelp
Huuuuge line, but they get you in quick. We made a reservation early that morning that moved us in fast. Awesome server. I think she was from the Hinterland with no smile, but great sense of humor and memorized the order of all 8 of us. Impressive. My stuffed french toast was off the chain and my wife said the pancakes were amazing. Great job. My expectations were low with a tourist area but Crockett's did not disappoint.

Yelp
We dined at Crockett's after several recommendations on the portion size and food options. We were advised to arrive when they opened, but slept in a bit. Fortunately it was a rainy day and traffic was low. We arrived around 7:30 AM but were seated immediately. It's a cozy restaurant with a fireplace and a log cabin type feel. The menu is printed on a newspaper and is extensive. They offer pancakes, waffles, breakfast sandwiches, omelets, specialty breakfast items and giant cinnamon rolls. We ordered the cheese omelet, kids pancake with egg, kids waffle with egg, and big breakfast with giant cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll stole the show, with a light creamy icing. It was simply delicious and a must try. The rest of the food was normal breakfast fare - good local place to stop by if you're in the area.

Yelp
If you want TONS of amazing breakfast food and an insanely low price, you should check this place out. Seriously, we come here once a year for the Winterfest (February) event, and always make Crockett's a necessary stop. We've never had bad service there, but the wait times to get a table can be excessive (it's a popular spot). I believe you can put yourself on a wait list though--and there's plenty to do around the Gatlinburg area while you are waiting. Inside, it's like an old style log cabin of sorts. Some of the biggest cinnamon rolls I've ever seen. All the food we've tried has been amazing. Don't go if you are not hungry though!

Natalie C.

Yelp
You would think for the atmosphere, the quality of food would be as equal, but unfortunately, it is not the service is wonderful. And the staff tries their hardest to work with customers. However, their food is not the greatest. I've ever had, but I would still go back

Yelp
Other than the wait I love this place!! A lot of food and it was very tasty! I recommend waiting to eat here. The food didn't take long to come out so it evened itself out. The big cinnamon roll looks good but won't get again. Kinda bland. Pancakes are the best!!

Yelp
I arrived here after an overnight stay in a nearby town and was cold and hungry! I only had about an hour and 15 minutes left before the restaurant closed and it was a bit of a challenge to find free parking nearby, but I managed to snag a spot a block away on a side road. Everything on that menu looked delicious, but I had to try the Pot Roast Benedict. It was fantastic, I only wished I had asked for more sausage gravy. Apparently I could have, because the darling of a waitress told me she would have absolutely brought me extra! Well, next time I'm in town, I'll have to remember that. The corn pone that came with it was something I had never had before and I'm told it was a Native American variation of cornbread. Honestly, there aren't very many variations of corn bread that I haven't liked and this one was no different. The cheese grits were also delicious and I wish I had a bigger stomach. The only thing not worth writing home about was the coffee. It was one of those unfortunate coffee situations where it tasted both burnt and watered down. I declined my refill, but the service was outstanding! If I ever make it back in the area, I would definitely get my breakfast here again.

Yelp
Amazing amazing amazing!!! Everything was delicous!! Service was excellent. I never give 5 stars but this is the one. We waited just at an hour to get in and it was worth it!

Yelp
I discovered this place while searching for recommendations on social media, where it was highlighted as one of the best breakfast spots in Gatlinburg--and my experience did not disappoint! Here are a few important tips: 1. Check the waitlist before you go. This spot is extremely popular, and the wait can be long, sometimes up to two hours. Using the waitlist will save you time. 2. Share the famous thick Aretha Frankenstein pancakes. They are massive! If you're with someone, one serving is more than enough to share. I ordered two, my companion also ordered two, and we had plenty left over. 3. Don't skip the cinnamon roll. It's huge, delicious, and absolutely worth trying! One unique detail I loved is that the menu is presented as a newspaper, which adds such a fun and creative touch to the experience. Parking won't be an issue, as there's a large lot directly across from the restaurant. My experience was fantastic; the atmosphere perfectly complements a great breakfast. Without a doubt, this will be my go-to spot whenever I return to Gatlinburg!

Yelp
On our trip to Gatlinburg, Crockett's Breakfast Camp was one of the only restaurants that we decided as a must early on. When leaving our hotel in Pigeon Forge, we made sure that we put ourselves onto the waitlist, and was pretty shocked at the 2 hour wait with 98 parties in front of us. We thought it must have been a glitch with the waiting list system, but it appeared to be true. I'm going to say that was probably also a blessing as driving down the parkway and through Gatlinburg took forever. Parking wasn't a problem as there are paid parking lots through out the parkway; be prepared to pay $20 anytime you move around the area. Pro tip if you are willing to walk around a little: park in the center of the town and pay for parking once. We went on to let them know we were there with roughly 25 parties in front of us. We also checked if we would still be able to get a table since the time was coming up on the closing hour. The host assured us if we are on the list and checked in that we would be seated. My exquisite partner and I went outside found an open spot on a bench and waited for our turn to be called. When I noticed we were 2nd on the wait list, we made our way inside. We had to wait another 5ish minutes, so we looked at the decor and the taxidermy animals around the fireplace. Once we were seated, our waitress got our drink order of the strawberry orange juice. I didn't expect fresh strawberry orange juice, but that was exactly what was served. She also made sure we got glasses of water as well. We decided to order the Crockett Mountain Omelet and The Black Bear Camp Skillet to share between us. It was more than enough food for us two. My lovely companion wasn't a fan of the fresh hash as it was a bit oily and not really crispy; I was fine with it as I've had hash served like this before. The omelet was tasty with the jalapeños standing out a little more than we expected. We chose toast with the omelet because we had two sunny side up eggs with the skillet and that had a biscuit. Both meals came with a small scoop of cornbread garnishment, which was a nice flavor. The Black Bear Camp Skillet came with a huge pancake, sausage, ham, bacon, hash, grits, biscuit, country gravy, and two eggs in whichever way you'd like them. We didn't get the cheese on the grits but should have, as it was so plain otherwise. The biscuit was buttery and paired nicely with the gravy. The sausage, bacon, and ham was exactly as you would expect, with the bacon having a nice crunch. The pancake was super thick and had a nice flavor; it's a bit heavy, so if you like fluffy hot cakes, this isn't it. Overall, service was good. The food is heavy, so be prepared for that. The wait is insane. If you have the time, and are super hungry in the morning, this might be the place for you!

Yelp
There was a bit of a short wait and the check in process was quick. The interior had a rustic vibe with hanging lanterns, spinning wheels and other knick knacks. Paula took excellent care of us and paid special attention to us the whole time we were there. The food came out fast and hot. Well worth a visit - the only drawback was the parking was very limited.
google avatar

Heather B.

Yelp
This was our favorite place we ate in Gatlinburg! We did have a wait. Service was good and food was excellent! The pancakes were amazing! Kids loved the French toast. Omelette was also good. Decor was so cute! Can't wait to visit again just to get another one of those pancakes and maybe a cinnamon roll to go!
google avatar

Pam C.

Yelp
Great food, good service and an extensive and fun menu. We had a wonderful breakfast before heading to the aquarium. The Aretha pancakes are a must try! Recommend getting on the waitlist when headed there to decrease wait time at the restaurant.
google avatar

Jalene F.

Yelp
This is an absolute must for your trip to Gatlinburg. It's an institution and they deliver on what they are known for.....massive pancakes, I've never seen one so thick. Also highly recommend getting a cinnamon roll as you sit down to munch on while you peruse the menu. The cheese omelette was ok but I recommend you get one of the high carb items and don't forget a biscuit! The service is very friendly and the vibe is very friendly fun and old time feel. You'll feel like you have gone back in time. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I was skeptical of Crockett's because it's right in the middle of Gatlinburg and I assumed it would be an over-hyped tourist trap. Thankfully, the hype is warranted. We had to wait 2 hours to be seated - in this time, we walked all around town, got some coffee, and walked along the Gatlinburg trail on the creek - time well spent! By the time we were seated, we were so hungry - thankfully, Crockett's serves their food faster than you can ever imagine. We waited 2 hours to be seated, but we were done with our meal in ~20 minutes. I got the apple waffle with eggs and sausage - I was looking for something savory and sweet, so this was the perfect combination and it was seriously so good. The apple waffle tasted like a delicious apple pie and the eggs and sausage were so good with it. My husband got the corned beef hash plate, which he also thoroughly enjoyed. Actually a good spot if you're willing to wait!
google avatar

Huyen C.

Yelp
I totally get the hype now! We were in Gatlinburg and wanted to explore the charming little town. After looking over a few breakfast spots, we decided to give Crockett's a try. We got there on a Friday morning, put our name on the waiting list, and were told there'd be about a 1.5 to 2-hour wait. We couldn't find free parking, and paid $20 bucks to park. Since the area is perfect for strolling, we decided to walk around while we waited. They will text you when you're close, and you can monitor your spot on the list. We stopped by a few bars to try their moonshine, browsed the shops, and before we knew it, our table was ready! The service was incredibly fast. We placed our order, and within about 15 minutes, our food was already at the table. We had pancakes, biscuits and gravy, omelets, and country fried steak. In hindsight, we probably should've checked what each dish came with because we ended up with way more food than we could eat. Everything was hot, fresh, and delicious. If you're in the area, definitely make sure to stop by this spot!

Katie B.

Yelp
My favorite breakfast place in Gatlinburg. We had an excellent server. The portions are large. I love the bacon, waffle and hunt camp potatoes. Others liked the black bear camp skillet. I love the you can join a waitlist online.
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Nice, country themed restaurant located right on the strip. It was a very long way to get in so I highly recommend if you're going to try his favorite tourist spot that you go very early. The wait times can up to well over 2 hours. The corned beef hash was some of the best quality I ever had. I would compare to what I have had at the Ritz Carlton... this isn't the chopped canned version .The steak dish was just OK. The grilled pork chops were good. The eggs were delicious. The potatoes were amazing. The pancake was absolutely divine and very unique with his thick size. It was so sweet and tasty. It barely even needed any syrup to be added to it. They have a very extensive menu and it's printed as if it is a newspaper.. looks cool. You have to try the yummy giant cinnamon rolls. Our family truly enjoyed this place and would return.
google avatar

Vanessa L.

Yelp
Best breakfast we had on our trip to Gatlinburg! Recommend putting your name on the waitlist prior to arriving, if not you might have to wait a while. The restaurant was decorated like an old cabin and loved the newspaper style menu that I brought home for the memories! We shared the cinnamon roll, it was delicious. My boyfriend got the the black beat camp skillet that kept him full for the whole day! I ordered the bacon omelette, it was quite heavy on the bacon, but still very yummy! Anybody in the area should definitely consider visiting!
google avatar

Celeste S.

Yelp
I heard you cant go to Gatlinburg without trying this place out for breakfast and I will say a lot of people agree. This place was packed every morning and always had a wait. The great thing about this place however is I was able to get on the list online so although it is always packed its good to have this feature! The food was pretty standard to my liking, my favorite was the pancake! The pancakes are huge and very fluffy! The menus here are very unique since they are newspapers and the service was good. The inside is decorated very much like a homey cabin with a fireplace and lots of wooden pieces and picture decorations along the walls. Coffee refills are free which is another good thing.
google avatar

Jeffrey S.

Yelp
If we would've waiting a half hour or hour, which is how long the wait was on by 9am (like 2 hours after opening), it would be a 3 star review. The fact that we walked right in (just after opening), got a table, and got quick service, bumped it up to a 4. The food was decent, but not amazing. The corned beef benedict was OK corned beef, nice biscuit, and not much Hollandaise. The spiced apples were good and the biscuits and gravy were OK. The ham steak was pretty decent.
google avatar

Bob B.

Yelp
Wait was just under 2hrs, but boy was it worth it!!! Very rustic interior which was perfect for the location. Staff super friendly and nice. With the wait they take your number so you can shop around the area. Food arrives super fast, I was amazed at how fast the food arrived. This was the most food I have eaten in a sitting in a long time, it was just that good I didn't want to stop. The griddle cakes were to die for and the cinnamon roll amazing.
google avatar

Nicole H.

Yelp
Pro tip: join the wait-list online before arrival! Ambiance is cool. Very rustic and the menu is a replica newspaper. Service was good and helpful. Food was very yummy and high quality. Portions are more than adequate to leave you full. Loved the experience as a hole and we'd definitely come back.

Nicholas M.

Yelp
I walked in and immediately it looked like I was in a barn in a good way it was awesome and the menu had a wide variety of foods in my case I got cinnamon swirl pancakes which I highly recommend if your not on a diet and the chocolate milk was so good, but there probably is going to be a wait if you are planning to go there. Service was great too!

Yelp
I was a bit skeptical at first since it is a very busy place in a touristic area but it worths the wait. We joined the wait list on line which was really convenient. The decoration is exactly what I was expecting from an "1875" restaurant. No matter the size of your party, you will seat at a large table ( very comfortable for two people) I ordered the Aretha Frankenstein pancakes with a side of country sausage and a fresh egg. We ordered a gigantic cinnamon rolls to share. The service was efficient and great. We did not wait more than 10 min to be served. The portions were very generous. I loved the pancakes, they were very unique. I recommend this place for sure ! It's a must in Gatlinburg

Yelp
I now understand why the wait to eat at this place is hours long. Luckily enough you can virtually wait for a table on their website. We joined the virtual line at 10am and got physically seated at 11:30am. Immediately me and my partner noted how reasonable the pricing on the menu was. I chose the steak and eggs with a strawberry orange sunshine. I was underprepared for the portions that appeared at our table. My steak and eggs were not only just that, but a flapjack, a biscuit, some gravy, some grits, potato's, and some corn pone. Not only was everything filling, but it was also yummy. The flapjack was unforgettable. I have never had a flapjack this bouncy and sweet. The person who created the recipe deserves all the props and bows. The strawberry orange sunrise will definitely be a repurchase when I make it back too.

Yelp
6th time going here. NEVER FAILS. I literally dream about this breakfast all year long. I drool thinking about it. Worth the wait, trust me. (If you don't want to hear screaming kids, ask to sit in the fireplace room, you're welcome)

Yelp
My friends and I had breakfast here during my bachelorette weekend! The service was good despite how busy it was. Definitely recommend joining the virtual queue. We got on the list an hour and 20 minutes before we arrived and we still waited a few minutes. The food hit the spot. Huge portions. Definitely try the giant cinnamon roll and the pancakes! We also loved the rustic vibe of the restaurant! The theming is great.

Yelp
best cheese grits i've had so far, hashbrowns were better than ihop, the sweet corn pone was so good, the Cousin Dave's Iron Horse Omelet was pretty good. The biscuit was good with lots of butter but was fairly moist by itself. The interior was very camp. our server was nice as was kitchen staff who came out occasionally

Yelp
This is a VERY popular place for breakfast. I highly recommend you get on the waitlist via their website an hour or more before you plan to arrive. Also, make sure to check-in at the host stand when you arrive. We found the food to be decent, not bad, but not really great either. The prices are reasonable and the portions are large. The service is fast and efficient. Warning, the cinnamon roll pancakes are super sweat and are more like the texture of a spongy cake than traditional pancakes - they are very likely to induce a carb coma. The place is quite loud, as you might expect from a very busy and hectic family restaurant.

Yelp
Very cute and well decorated breakfast spot in Gatlinburg. We went with a group of 8 and there was no wait. Our waiter was attentive and good came out fast. The country fried steak skillet came with a lot of food with a little bit of everything. The 2 eggs and sausage plate was simple and the potatoes are a must get. The big cinnamon roll was a little dry and cake. However prices were very reasonable and we all left satisfied and full. Definitely worth the visit!

Yelp
SUCH GOOD FOOD! You get a lot of food for the price so Im here to say that it is worth every single penny. The only think I would skip on is the Cappuccino, its not a real one and very sweet haha Service was great! We didnt feel rushed at all and she was very attentive. Its a huge restaurant, reminds me of what cracker barrel like wants to be, but just isnt lol GO HERE!

Yelp
Food was Pretty good, service was awesome! I had the two eggs any style and got a biscuit with gravy and grits. The grits were outstanding. Probably best I ever had (but take that with a grain of salt since I'm from New England lol) my daughter had the kids pancake with bacon and she loved it. I tried hers with a heaping amount of syrup and it was tasty! The prices were very reasonable and the whole restaurant was so interesting with cute benches for seating and such cool decorations on the walls. The pulley door was fun and it was just all around a treat to eat there.

Yelp
Really yummy French toast! The cinnamon roll that everyone talks about was nothing to write home about; except for the size. Make sure you get in line online.

Yelp
Fun woodsy decor. The food was awesome. Inch thick Pancakes are a must. Our server Paula was the Best! She's so very attentive and estimating our needs before we even need anything. So nice. Great for both couples and families.

Yelp
The is a great breakfast spot for your Gatlinburg bucket list! Such a cool vibe with them decorating the restaurant like an old loggers camp. That's where the skillet comes in. My steak and eggs skillet was such a large breakfast! So come very hungry. I loved everything about it. But a special callout was the gravy, it was the best I've ever had. Packed full of savory flavor. I kept dipping my very large cat head biscuit in. I really like their griddle cake. It's like a super thick pancake, but so delicious. Not fluffy, cake textured as the name entitles. The maple syrup was really good and thin, so the cake just soaked it up. The chopped steak had a great flavor and was cooked well. Grits were cooked very well. Not clumpy at all, super smooth for grits. Everything was so good, including the service. I want to go back! I gotta try the cinnamon roll! They looked delicious.

Yelp
My wife and I stopped here after doing the Gatlinburg Trail for what would up being the perfect breakfast. It turned out that we arrived just in time, because it quickly became crowded with about 2 dozen people waiting to be seated by the time we left. We were promptly seated. The decor was very rustic, and the menu was styled like an old newspaper. Regarding the menu itself, it had basically anything you could imagine for an American-style breakfast. I settled on their Mountain Omelet, and my wife had the stuffed french toast. Both dishes came out of the kitchen surprisingly fast for as busy as it was, and both were also superb in terms of taste and value. It easily comes in my top 3 for the past year for breakfast places, and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to the Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge area.

Yelp
First we went around 10am. Was a 2 hour wait for dine in. We got an order to go that was only 15min. We got the famous cinnamon roll (which they forgot & we had to go back for. That's why 3 stars for service & total 4 stars.). Also got eggs Benedict which was fresh & yummy. Got the pancakes which were very good. They are thick & tasted like corn bread pancakes. Not worth more then a 20min wait but worth it for a to go meal. Also no parking available. Didn't really get inside to much.

Yelp
Had to wait about an hour. The food was good and service was great. Outstanding? No. Not special. But it was good

Yelp
If you are a breakfast junkie then you hit the right place! Go for the Skillet! Eggs, Ham, Sausage, Grits, Gravy, Biscuit, Skillet Cake, Pone, and Bacon! Dammit this is gooder than good. Everything was cooked as requested and that Skillet Pancake was something that hit different! Gotta have it now I have to try it at home! Crunchy and Fluffy at the same time! Yes Please!

Yelp
How can you not stop at Crockett's when you're on vacation?! It's tradition for so many. Large portions, quality food, great service, and atmosphere. It's a staple for us whether it's the 2nd day of our trip or the last, we keep coming back year after year!

Yelp
What a fun atmosphere and great food. Our service was fun and efficient. The surroundings take you back in time. Must get the one pound cinnamon roll for the table.
