Denver’s Essential Breweries Right Now, Spring 2023

"Crooked Stave built its widely acclaimed name on wild and sour beers, and though founder Chad Yakobson — who wrote his master’s thesis on Brettanomyces — has branched out some since its opening in 2010, they serve as an obvious starting point for anyone new to its lineup. Oak-aged with raspberries and blueberries, the Sour Rosé counts among its monster hits; so do the whiskey barrel–aged dark sour Nightmare on Brett and the coolship-inoculated golden sour Stay the Funk In, which took a gold medal at the 2022 Great American Beer Festival (GABF). Seasonal releases, meanwhile, range from Sun Shower Citrus Wheat to Horchata Stout." - Eater Staff

Google
Fantastic stouts and traditional sours. Good variety of beer styles.. Ali was a great "tour guide". Stop by and see for yourself. Take some home!

Turn one lane before Google Maps tells you and you will find the front door. Amazing little brewery with delicious beers and great beertenders. Try the sours, they have the best!

Google
So nice to have a multitude of SOUR options. 2pm visit on a Wednesday so, not busy. Very comfortable atmosphere and a friendly bartender to take care of us!

This brewery serves a lot of interesting types of beer and has a food truck parked beside it. There is bike parking. The interior and entrance are both pretty wheelchairs accessible.

I had a chance to talk to the Sample Wizard in Pennyjohns today and I was amazed by a bright and happy soul who has worked for one establishment for ~15 years, that is a true testament to the quality and integrity of your operation. It made me happy that I pretty much only look for and buy Crooked Stave beers. The designs? Absolutely memorable and adorable. The beer? Delightful. I will be haunting the other stores in search for the chocolate orange again. Thanks for doing what you do! Have a beautiful day, week, whatever. 🙂‍↕️🌷

Google
Amazed to see the selection of special cellar beers for offer! The BBA sour bottled in 2013 was exceptional. Would have liked another stout to be on tap but that's how things go. Enjoyed the time there drinking some excellent sours on draft. Good times.

Google
Been a minute since I have been to Crooked, and my first visit to this location, which I found perfectly layed back and relaxed to enjoy a few great beers. I have always loved their sours, and it was nice to be kicking back enjoying some of my favs with the barrels a few feet away. Their Pilsners and IPA’s were excellent as well, and couldn’t help not to purchase a few to enjoy up at Red Rocks. Overall, the beer and service were exceptional, and was happy I was able to find a moment to stop by! Cheers!!

Google
Off the beaten path. Went to a photo shoot in the same building. Enjoyed a beer after. Tropical Hazy was delicious! Cheers!

Yelp
This was the first brewery I visited while in Denver. I came here because they had a pretty good selection of Sour Beers. I ordered a flight and enjoyed all of the beers I had. The staff was friendly and inviting. I'd certainly recommend checking them out.

Yelp
This team makes incredible sours and stouts. We tried Nightmare on Brett and the February Imperial Stout. Delicious! And Sour Sundays get your $2 off full sour pours. Easy free parking right outside. Friendly service. Lots of seating options in and outside. Solid beers. Don't skip a visit to this brewery.

Yelp
I love this brewery! We went for the end of stout month and got three stout tasters, and of course three sour tasters. Hubby and I both liked the Mallow stout the best - it was so smooth with the lactose. The fact a brewery can produce killer sours, IPAs, and stouts among other beers is very impressive. I love the fact the brewery is a little smaller and never overwhelming, just a like chill vibe place with good music always playing. For the sours, the Hibiscus Dream or Peach Cobbler were tied for favorite. The woman behind the bar was also so nice - we talked a little about Zwanze Day and the history of the owner/brewery. Will always be a go to spot.

Yelp
Crooked Stave is great! We came here for a quick flight before flying out of Denver and we enjoyed our visit. We had a flight of half sours and half IPAs and they were pretty good, though the sours were better than the IPAs. Our favorite though was a beer slushie with their cherry pie sour, which was delicious and would be one that we would get on every visit. We definitely have to come back and try some more brews!

Yelp
If you're looking for the best sours in Denver, you need to come here. The menu is full of amazing sours, IPAs, and pilsners. I had the iced out cold IPA and was there for "happy hour" and got a free taster too- I went with Just Peachy. Plenty of parking and nice indoor tap room where you can see into the brewhouse. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow, what a great discovery. If you like sours this is a brewery for you. The inside is small and quaint perfect for a Sunday afternoon outside has a few patio tables and their food truck egg belly is delicious.

Yelp
I've always really enjoyed Crooked Stave since they have so many sour beer options and that's the only beer I enjoy drinking. I've bought their beer at stores and also went to their spot when they were in The Source but I hadn't been to their brewery. It is a 4 minute drive from our house so we will hopefully frequent it more often especially since their patio is also dog friendly! We sat outside so I didn't really explore the inside other than to look at the beer list. I tried several of their sours in a flight and enjoyed most of them but the mojito. Staff were welcoming and helpful when deciding what options I should put in my flight. I'll for sure be back!
google avatar

Eddie C.

Yelp
I've never seen so many sour beers on a menu. I got a flight of four and I could've still had another flight full of sours. I love sours so I appreciate the menu here. All my beers were solid. I enjoyed the atmosphere in the brewery and the bartender was welcoming and friendly.

Yelp
Looooooove me some crooked stave. I miss their old tap room in the source but this location is much more intimate and casual. They have a really cool and massive outdoor seating setup in the warmer months and a cozy tasting room in the colder ones. Lots of merch and bottles on display for sale. And a large selection on tap. I like that this location is smaller in that you can have a more intimate discussion with the staff and get good recs. You can also sit right at the bar and have a little tasting flight session. They have windows looking straight into the facility. They do events here though I've never been to one. My favorite part of crooked stave is going on black friday for the 40% off magnums sale.

Yelp
I tried Crooked Stave's beer for the first time in 2019 while in Nebraska. I live on the east coast and do not have anywhere to get Crooked Stave so I was super excited to visit while in Denver. The spot isn't huge but they have some tables inside and several picnic tables outside under tents. The bartenders were super friendly and welcoming. There is a huge selection of beers to drink there and take to go. There was also a decent selection of merch, I bought my husband and I a t-shirt. I had a flight of four beers. I enjoyed them all. I grabbed five cans of the Petite Blueberry Sour togo since that was the beer I tried and loved a few years back. The bartender was awesome and even helped me find the closest place to me that distributes their beer (still not close but closer than Denver :) I will definitely visit again if I find myself in Denver!

Yelp
If you think you are heading to an abandoned garage and are heading the wrong direction you're not. Based on the street view from maps we weren't sure what to expect but sure enough Crooked Stave was tucked in the back of the parking lot. It's a pretty small taproom but they also have lots of outdoor seating if the weather is nice. Sour beers are what put them on the map so be sure to try some of those but they do have lots of other options as well.

Yelp
Visited a ton of breweries during my short time in the Denver area, this one was my favorite. You only need to look at their barrel room and their list of widely varying sours to know these folks know what they're doing.

Wyatt G.

Yelp
Screw this place. Came all this way for them to have an unannounced private party. The girl at the door told us to go elsewhere and made us wait outside in the cold to wait for the 25 dollar Uber ride to get back to the city after wasting a 25 dollar Uber ride to get there. They don't serve food here. With this type of service I hope they fail. Sick and tired of these f'ing places doing this shit.

Yelp
Great brewery! Probably the home to some of my favorite sours, I love the diversity they deliver. We got a sampler, all sours, and all delicious! The peach sour is excellent for summertime, it's crisp and tart, not too overpowering. The Excelsior Chai sour had great spice to it, and was a really unique flavor profile I didn't think I'd enjoy, but did! The next one I can't remember the name of but was a blueberry or blackberry sour and was so good. It was like a tart grape juice, and I think was both of our favorite. The last one was Nightmare on Brett which I had a couple years ago but couldn't find any of the bottles in the areas I was living. One of the sours that actually got me to love sours - and it was definitely nostalgic to have again!

Yelp
Great place, great beers, dog friendly, lots of outdoor seating, it just takes a little while to find a beer you like but it's a great place

Yelp
Love the selection of sours at Crooked Stave. Awesome tasting room with a window into the fermenting/barreling room.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent beer - both sours, ipas, and barrel aged darks. Also, Egg Belly, the food truck outside makes awesome food. Everything on the menu is great and can't wait for the chef's cold weather menu!!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to visit in Denver when we are in town for GABF. I could spend hours here enjoying their beers, the sours are on point and refreshing. It's was a little tricky to find, it's in a industrial area with plenty of outdoor seating. The vibe inside the tasting room was very chill with a large selection of of beers to choose from and bottles for sale. We ended up getting free beers because there was an issue with their card reader. We tried several of the sours on tap and the petite blueberry sour is a favorite of mine. I will definitelybe back for more.
google avatar

Yelp
Just phenomenal. I was recommended this brewery by brewers in Georgia and many others. Totally unique beers and the staff was friendly as could be. Want to find something different? Crooked Staves.
google avatar

Daniel M.

Yelp
I have loved their sours since they opened their doors. I love them even more now that they moved closer to me home. Keep up the great work guys!
google avatar

Susan C.

Yelp
Had to stop in and check out their lineup before GABF tonight. Very chill vibe, music on point, and decent lineup (sours is their zone). Cracked a Ghost World (a bba blend). Got a little warmth going on-not as much barrel as anticipated but definitely tasty!

Yelp
This is paradise for sour beers lovers! The best selection of sours I've seen so far, however a little more expensive than usual. The atmosphere is nice, located in the back of the Source market hall building, so there are no windows. To most people this might not be an issue, but this feels a little claustrophobic to me, no matter how big the place is, still that's just me. No kitchen, but you can order a charcuterie plate from Mondo Market, also located in the Source, that they'll deliver to your table. Really outstanding selection of sour beers!

Yelp
I've been a big fan of Crooked Stave for awhile and I made the pilgrimage to come to their Denver location as my first beer stop. Located inside the Source, it was a little unexpected for me this place hugged the back corner. It was certainly smaller than I expected with a name like Crooked Stave. But I am here for the beer, not the size. Let me just preface that I am a big fan of sours. I normally get Rare Barrel, The Bruery, and I equate Crooked Stave up there. However, after trying I wasn't as impressed. Not sure if I set my expectation too high but I was just looking for a tongue memory when I first had their beers at a festival. After trying a few tasters, I wasn't as impressed. I tasted everything on the left side of board board (The cheaper side) I did like L'Brett d'Apricot but Surette Reserva Cherry was my favorite. Everything tasted a little flat for me, perhaps they needed to force carb the beers a bit. Regardless though. the staff here was excellent and I'm glad I made the trip to try this place out. It wasn't my favorite amongst Denver breweries, but I like the innovation and approach they take for the beers here.

Yelp
WHO: The hubs and our best friend WHAT: Decided to get our drink on (even more) after grabbing our burgers at the Shake Shack pop up. WHEN: This past weekend! WHERE: The famous-for-their-sours, Cooked Stave! WHY: Cause, duh! Because there was extremely limited seating at the pop up event, the boys and I made our way over to this little brewery - which I was eyeing the minute we stepped foot in to The Source. We found us a table for 4 and perused the extensive menu. Now I must admit, I am NOT a sour fan. But hearing the buzz on their famous Petite Sour Rose - I couldn't resist on trying it - and HOT DAMN, I think I might be a sour fan after all! Seriously, hands down, the best sour I've tried and a rose to boot! The beertender was nice, friendly and offered us his favorite brews - 6 of them to be exact. I can't remember them all now, but the Rose was by far, the biggest hit. While pricing is kind of steep, what can you expect from an Artisan brewery?! I thought it was on point, and didn't break the bank! Although I'm not in the area as much as I'd like, I hope to return!

Yelp
Overall a wonderful experience. It was a little tricky to find the turn to get there but we figured it out. Staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. Answered all of our questions and more. Beer was delicious and has a great variety of options. We loved our time here and even have looked for their beers at our local total wine.

Yelp
One of my favorite breweries in the WORLD. Not kidding and I travel a lot. Been to Belgium several times and everywhere else. Crooked stave is rediculously amazing for the sour beer lover. Every time I come I drink a taster sample of every beer on tap, and buy a Tshirt. Soooo that's like $150 every visit. Oh well I drink a lot of sours and crooked stave is worth every penny. The brewpub is chill, nice place inside a market called "the source" where there's other shops and places for food. The Crooked Stave bar itself is the brew pub to try all the beers on tap, and buy takeaway bottles. The staff are always friendly, and helpful to the regulars and newbies. You can buy any amount of flights you want, all pours are served in a regular glass, or a mini-size flight glass. Each mini-glass is prices per-pour, from $2 to $5 per glass depending on the rarity. My favorite beers are all the sours. They make so many, I can't name them all, but some of my favorites are: Nightmare on Brett, Surette (and any fruit variety of Surette), Progenitor, any of the Petite Sours, Mama Bear Sour Cherry Pie, L'Brett d'Blueberry, any of the Origins series, Persica, Salvador Cybies. For the sour beer lover, this is a top notch destination. Last time I visited from Philadelphia, I successfully managed to bring home 21 bottles of Crooked Stave in my checked luggage. Easy 5 stars!

Yelp
Having tried the Petite Sour Rose that Crooked Stave brews up at Parry's Pizza; I knew that I had to go to the "source." Ironically they are located in... The Source! Ha! So after some tasty tacos at Comida, I chose to finish off my meal with a most delish sour brew from Crooked Stave! Crooked Stave is an artisan brewery that specializes in sour beers! They had a glorious 22 (not all sour, but mostly) on tap the day I chose to stop in. Yeah that's right. 22! The beertender was super friendly and offered to sample or chat about any of the brews for me. I chose to sip on the Petite Sour Rose. Again... Because it was amazing! I have also sampled the Salvador Cybies (a dark Belgian strong aged in whiskey barrels over sour cherries) which is sooo flavorful and has great wine-esque notes and the petite sour blueberry (a bit sweeter on the nose than some of their other sours, but such a great flavor overall). Pricing can be a little steep. However it is an artisan brewery. You can legit taste the care (and quality) that goes into their delish craft brews. While I def agree with other reviewers that this isn't going to make my rotation of regular go-to breweries; it will def be my little indulgence as often as I can! Given my taste for sour beers, a great space, and friendly AF brewers/beertenders; I know that I will be returning soon and many more times! **Pro Tip: Craving some Crooked Stave brews, but unable to make it to The Source? No problem! Argonaut Wine and Liquor offers a small selection of their bottled beers (limited to 3 of a kind). Can't let anyone have too much of a good thing!

Yelp
*Located inside The Source Market Hall. I'm a sour beer freak so naturally, I loved this place. SELECTION: Great. They also have a few beers available that aren't sour. Personally, I had no interest in those. They offer taster glasses so you can try a few different options. You can also buy bottles. TASTE: Excellent and diverse. I tried a few different options with a friend and we definitely had some contrasting opinions in regard to favorites. This worked out very well since we just swapped beers. There were a couple that we both absolutely loved though (Sour Rosé and Peach Surette). SPACE: It's located in The Source Market Hall (adjacent to the hotel). All the way in the back. There's a small bar plus tables (you can order food from any of the restaurants inside the mini-mall). Very modern and hip (exposed beams/ducts, brick walls, repurposed warehouse feel). STAFF: Friendly and knowledgeable.
google avatar

J Warren R.

Yelp
An artisan brewery that focuses on quality beer. Primarily known for their sours, Crooked Stave is a testament to using natural yeasts and quality ingredients and fermentation to produce some phenomenal beers. When you match the brewmasters' creativity with his passion, you find some complex, interesting and tasty beers. The beertender, Nicole, was top notch--providing information and background along with suggestions on what was extra special. I had to pace myself -wanting to try the all - knowing that in order to do that it would take several visits. So I grabbed several take out selections. Crooke Stave operates in a corner of a 1880s warehouse. The brick walls exude a rustic ambience. Parking available in their lot. This is a must stop for all craft beer lovers visiting Denver. ...or for Colorado residents as well.
google avatar

Jessica J.

Yelp
4 stars for some really amazing sour beers. For sour lovers, this place is the best! However, you pay through the nose for it. Some pours are $12 for 10 oz! What is it gold? Easy vibe. No table service, you have to go get your beer at the bar. I like the Petit Sour Rose and the Petit Sour Raspberry. Even their non sour beer was good. If you like a good sour, you can't go wrong here.
google avatar

Nick P.

Yelp
Gotta give it the 5 star! It's so hard to find sour beers on the east coast so it's such a treat to find a place with such a ridiculous variety! I also have to compliment the bartender! Once I told her I was visiting she gave me a list of recommendations! I would love to come back!

Yelp
Crooked Stave is among the best sour beer creators in the country. I'll always choose a sour over any other style, so having the chance to visit CS while in Denver was seriously exciting. First off, I'm so glad my local friend decided to drive us. I'd say the surrounding neighborhood could be classified as "up and coming," aka: I'd rather not walk around here alone or at night for at least a few more years. Also, FREE parking at The Source! Several other breweries (Epic, Black Shirt, Stem, Ratio, etc.) are in the area -- mostly across the railroad tracks. CS can be found in the rear of The Source -- an eclectic blend of artsy shops and eateries with an industrial vibe. You'll know you arrived once you see the turquoise "BREWERY" sign. I somehow got confused with the liquor store's sign next door, but also I'm not always totally observant. We walked in around midday and were able to instantly order without a wait. Nice! I announced I wanted to try all their draft beers, but then had the common sense to ask how many were available. 22. Yeah, pass. I value my liver to some extent. Instead, I compromised with myself and ordered 13. Big sacrifice, I know. We ordered in increments (5, 3, 5), which was nice because we were able to enjoy each beer for its own attributes without worrying about the tasters getting warm. We also worked our way down the list. The petite series beers are the least sour. Try the rose or blueberry! If you're not a regular sour drinker, you may want to steer clear of the darker brett offerings. CS is popular for good reason. They make an incredible product that I wish I could drink on a regular basis! I loved my visit, and I'll return without a doubt the next time I'm in Denver.

Yelp
Easily my 2nd favorite place to drink sours! Crooked Stave is solid in their varieties! They even have a Kombucha that is out of this world! Located inside The Source, it's got a prime location. They allow you to bring in food to eat, so that's always a plus. Their menu is half beers and half sours. My husband and I split the menu and conquered it all. The sours are amazing. When I am at a highly rated brewery that have sours, I tend to just drink the whole sour menu. Nothing disappointed! Their IPA is also solid! When I was there, they had a blueberry and a raspberry sour. They tasted very very similar, so in my opinion, I kind if "wasted" a glass - should've tried something else instead or go for another Kombucha! All in all I would highly recommend this place for lovers of sours. Sour Face On!
google avatar

Rohin S.

Yelp
Quick notes: Love this brewery and their sour beer selection. Great location and located near a bunch of great restaurants. Located close enough to RiNo for a night out. I've been to Crooked Stave 4-5 times and its almost pretty busy if its a weekend night, so be prepared to stand around if you want to hang out there. They always have a great selection of sour beers and exclusive pours that often arent bottled or available in stores. The only downfall is the tasters and beer itself is a bit on the expensive side - kinda expected because their beers are expensive. Great place to try a bunch of them and buy the ones you like later! Would 100% recommend - all of their beers are delicious.

MaryAnn C.

Yelp
Order at the bar and enjoy your beer at one of the many tables. We went on a Saturday around 4:30pm and had lots of seating options and chill vibes. Great place to hang for a bit. I had the coffee baltic porter and let me tell you... it was SO good and rich. It almost could replace my afternoon cup of coffee. Love that you can also get tasters to try out their many options. Great for an afternoon drink on the weekend or a night cap after dinner at one of the restaurants in The Source.

Yelp
This is a fun place to bring a group!! We came here recently and all had a great time!! The drinks are great! And we all loved the Mexican food!! It is top quality ingredients and gives the feeling of Mexican Street tacos!! They were gobbled up so fast we only got 1 photo! Come on in here you will be glad you did!

Yelp
If you love sours, this is the place to go. If you aren't a big fan of sours, this is the place to convert you. Throw in a couple of Crooked Stave's IPA's while you're at it If you can't decide what beer you want, try a couple tasters. The tasters are 3 ounce pours and are $3/$4. I recommend trying 4 or 5 tasters and then getting a full pour of your favorite. My favorites are any of the petite sours because they are light and tart. Need some advice on which brews to try? You're in luck because the bartenders are always super friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The staff is passionate about the beer, and they enjoy finding the perfect selection for you. You can't go wrong. One of the other great things is that the brewery has a great vibe and location in The Source. Order food from one of the two restaurants in The Source and have it delivered to you while you drink. After your beer you can browse the other shops as well. Can't say enough good things about Crooked Stave.
google avatar

Chels C.

Yelp
Located in the back left corner of The Source lies the best brewery in the world. One day I hope they break away from The Source and have a stand alone building but don't let that take away from its unique location. CS specializes in 99.9% sour beers. They do happen to brew Ales, IPA's and Saisons just in case you can't handle the awesomeness of a sour. It's a paradise for anyone who appreciates niches as well as beer alone. I went on a Thursday night and to my surprise they had live music. It's a very intimate location, so just as many people who leave are just as many who come in. I've met some intriguing people here due to it close knit atmosphere. I just want to shout out the lovely bartender I befriended along with one of her friends who came by to visit her working. As her friend and I were chatting, she came and surprised me with a take home bottle of their Petite Sour Rosé (free :p). Besides the fact that we're born a day apart and her name is similar to a very good friend of mine, she will have a dear place in my heart. She's the G.O.A.T.

Yelp
If you're not a beer nerd here's the lowdown: Crooked Stave has blown up recently because of it's inventive takes on beers, specifically sours and a lot of yeasts that would normally not be welcome in breweries. I purposely made sure to come here instead of the brewery across the street because, well it's better, but I do like sours so I'm biased. Walked into The Source, which is also worth checking out, and walked all the way to the back where they're at. The thing with breweries like this is that they experiment and it's not all things to all people. That being said, most of the beers I had there were enjoyable with the exception of one where I really, really did not like them. The sour Radler was good, and their saisons were pretty good but the American Wild Ale was honestly just not to my liking. Service wise it was, okay. The bar was busy but it was hard to get the bartender's attention, probably because it was so huge and there was only 1 person working the place the entire time.

Phung V.

Yelp
So Crooked Stave is located inside The Source. It's really hipster. I'm glad I found this place because I'm a huge fan of sour beers and this place didn't disappoint. This was my last stop with my boyfriend in our brewery hop. They had so many different sour beers to choose from. Definitely get tasters so you can try a lot more. They specialize in sour beers so most of the choices are sour beers. However, there are a few non sours. This is a good place to just hang out. You can get cheese and meats next door and just come here and chill.
google avatar

Anita W.

Yelp
If you love sours, Crooked Stave is the place to be. You can customize a flight. I opted for the petite sour rose, baby bear, surette reserva sour cherry, nightmare on brett raspberry. For me, the more sour, the better so the sour cherry and nightmare on brett raspberry were my favorites. The woman who helped us was helpful and was able to answer any questions we had. No food served here, but you can order from the market or restaurants and eat at Crooked Staves. May be easy to miss so look for a big, red brick building with The Source on it. Crooked Stave is located all the way in the back left corner.

Yelp
You'll have to visit this place if you love sours! If you're sick of the IPA fad, you should definitely give sours a try! I had a six beer flight: Raspberry Petite Sour, Serenata Notturna, Flor d'Lees, Blueberry Serenata Notturna, Fruity Cedarbox, Raspberry Origins. If I recall correctly, I liked the Blueberry Serenata Notturna the best out of the six. They were all good in their own little way. None of them were overly tart. *Colorado Wild Sage* My beer nerd friend recommended that I get the Wild Sage. I got a full pour of it once I was done with my flight. Too bad that I'm not a big fan of saisons. However it was not bad. I might learn to like saisons. The atmosphere was pretty relaxed and it was a pretty industrial warehouse looking setting. You can either sit at the bar or find a table. Great place to relax and drink a few brews.

Yelp
Top notches for the pricey beer, but parking was crazy and some of the people working here didn't seem to be friendly. Sometimes I see folks ordering who don't know craft beer like us almost differently like they are bothersome asking basic questions.

Yelp
A one star rating for very poor customer service. We arrived on Sunday at 12:30. Ordered the Coffee porter witch was advertised at $6 on the large sign by the entry. It's what drew is in..... But then were told that the beer was $8 and that sign was from Saturday. Really??!!!??? Honor the sign! The sign did not say anything about being valid on a certain day only!! If the special isn't available, remove the sign. You just lost 2 customers for $2!! We walked across the street and bought beers there instead. If you like good service, walk across the street to Mockery Brewery!!

Yelp
This was worth the wait! We tried to visit earlier in our Denver trip, but couldn't make it, so we made this our final stop on the way out of town. Construction doesn't make it easy to find, but keep looking. It's located in a building called The Source. There is valet parking up front, but there is a free parking garage around the corner with a walkway. The atmosphere certainly is different, but there are many food choices to pick from in the building. Just as we arrived to the location, my ride out of town called and let me know they were 20 minutes out, so i only got to try one drink. I chose an 8oz pour of the double IPA. Forgive me for not remembering the name of it. It was a very fine choice for my last beer in Denver proper. I wish I could have tried some of the sours they had on tap, but time didn't allow. I do hope to make it back on my next trip to the area so i can sit and sample. Good work!

Yelp
Went to the Crooked Stave Denver at The Source while I was in town. I randomly stumbled across their sour rose back home in my local Whole Foods in Philadelphia and instantly became a fan! I was excited to learn they were out of CO and made it a point to stop by their taproom. I was glad to have a few glasses of the sour rose on tap but sad they were tapped out of the sour raspberry which sounded really good! Their taproom was very industrial and a chill vibe. If I had more time there I would have loved to try their frozen rose as well. I also picked up a few T-shirt's and a koozie :) This wasn't a very big taproom however they had a wide selection and a consistent crowd the entire time we were there!

Yelp
Outstanding brewery at "The Source" venue, a rehabbed giant brick barn retrofitted with a big steel skeleton inside, beautiful and impressive. We opted for the $3 cans (an excellent IPA and a Sage Saison over the aggressively priced, trendy sours that it is famous for pioneering. Recommend to check out The Source venue as well as grabbing a cold one here, just for fun.

Yelp
Amazing brewery, a lot of their cans are more widely distributed, but the selection on site is way better. The owner founder chad is a genius with wine beer and Brett and has had an awesome impact on the industry. The beer tender was super nice, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic. Must hit place if you like beer and are in the area!

Yelp
Perfection... Utter perfection. There is a reason this is one of the most exclusive breweries in the United States, no words to describe how perfect their beer is. A heavily sour based brewery, I had been looking forward to visiting this spot for months. Their sours are so pure and flavorful you can tell that hundreds if not thousands of hours of work were put into every single beer. They do have five or six "regular" beers for those who do not like sours. Do yourself a favor, and come to this place. You'll be far from disappointed!
