"Supplying the pastries for the school’s twice-weekly Swedish-style fika, this local bakery helps turn the mid-day coffee break into a gentle ritual of stepping away from work to chat and connect with the folk school community." - Nylah Iqbal Muhammad

Best coffee in town! Would highly recommend this over other places in the area to get coffee. I arrived right at open on Saturday and there was a short line that moved very quickly. Skilled baristas with attention to detail made my pumpkin spice latte which was absolutely delicious. Such a lovely atmosphere as well, inside and outside. This shop deserves all the love and business.

Charming modern coffee house with the most delicious baked goods made in house. I ordered the Coconut Cream Cold brew and it was light, refreshing with a hint of cream. Also ordered the Ham/Gruyere croissant and a Danish with a cream cheese and raspberry preserve pillow. These were fantastic, buttery and a perfect addition to a stroll along the lake. Parking was easy to find either on the street or the lot across the street. They are open daily from 7:30-3p- 10/10, check them out!

The carrot cake cookies are SOOO good! The cookie is soft, with just a little crunch on the edges & the frosting in the middle is the perfect amount! The cranberry wild rice bread is also fantastic! I wish I would have bought more than one loaf! We enjoyed the lemon bars & cold brew too. Everything in the case looked delicious, I wish we would have been in the area longer to be able to try more!

When my husband and I travel, we always look for a small family owned business - particularly bakeries! Crosby Bakery in Grand Marais is by far one of the best! Their Raspberry Danish was awesome! The pastry was soft and moist with just a hint of crunch as you bit into it. We also had a slice of their Blueberry Cheesecake, again they produced a superior product! We will definitely be returning!

This place is an amazing addition to Grand Marais. I have been stopping in nearly every time I'm in town and have yet to be disappointed. I love the lemon bars and carrot cake the most but the various styles of focaccia are delicious too. I don't drink much specialty coffee but the handful of hot chocolates and teas I've tried have been great. They also have an option for a hot sandwich on their focaccia which might be the best lunch in town. I wish they would expand those sandwich options, maybe add some more cold teas and chips or soup or some other side to pair with the sandwiches. Beyond the top notch food the atmosphere is cozy but modern with interesting art on the walls. My only complaint is that there usually isn't enough room to wait since the lobby is almost always packed with people waiting to order.

Google
The best Iced Oat Milk Latte w/vanilla I’ve ever had. Visited from Minneapolis. Also, the Danish was incredible. Great staff. Friendly. They obviously put a lot of care into roasting their coffee. Will be back anytime I’m up north!

Google
Really beautifully made pastries. I got the raspberry white chocolate scone, and it was perfection. Not overly sweet, very balanced. We also brought home some whole beans and have been using them to make espresso and we can really tell the difference in quality compared to store bought beans. Will definitely be returning during our next visit to Grand Marais.

Yelp
Adorable bakery and coffee shop in Grand Marais! I was actually heading towards the donut shop but saw the variety of baked goods in the window and thought I would give this shop a try since I hadn't been in here before. I AM SO GLAD I DID!! I ordered a latte and the carrot cookie for my husband & I got myself a caramel roll. The caramel roll was HUGE! I got full 2/3 way through but I'm no quiter so you can bet I hung out until my plate was clean! It had more of a butterscotch flavor than caramel but delicious nonetheless and sooo fluffy and not hard at all. My husband enjoyed his coffee but was RAVING about the carrot cookie. He doesn't typically like frosting so I was a bit worried (it's a bit like an oatmeal creme pie but with carrot cake cookie) but he said it was the perfect ratio of cookie to frosting. He let me have "one bite only" and made me instantly regret only ordering one. I would agree it was a perfect ratio and had incredible packed flavor that really does taste like carrot cake!

Yelp
Love, love, love this cute bakery! There's a variety of delicious pastries and desserts. The staff is friendly and service is prompt. The decor is elegant and cozy - you can definitely get comfortable here. Highly recommended and we will be back the next time we are up north!

Yelp
Excellent drinks and cute space. My partner got the mocha and he said that it was perfectly mixed and delicious. I got the iced matcha and it was the perfect balance of sweetness and matcha bitterness. I definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area.

Yelp
Cute local coffee shop and bakery with quick service. They have everything you could possibly desire - from croissants to bread to lemon bars! I stopped twice in one day (don't judge). In the morning, I got the raspberry maple latte which did not disappoint. Not overly sweet and the espresso had a slight bitterness but was balanced well with the raspberry & maple. We also got almond croissants and the spin/artichoke pastry based on other reviews. Haven't tried them yet but will update once I do. The afternoon trip was for another coffee - this time the coconut cold brew. The cold brew seems to have a cinnamon (or other spice?) undertone which I didn't care for...but others might. Also tried a lemon bar--it was delightful!

Yelp
Have you ever gone to a new bakery hoping to find something you might like? Just one thing? And walked in the front door to find yourself in pastry wonderland? That's Crosby Bakery. The ambience has a great vibe, the staff are friendly (but not so friendly that your husband starts to sigh because his introvert alarm has gone off), and the baked goods rival the best you can find in a major metropolitan area. I went for an artichoke boat (think of your favorite artichoke dip nestled into a perfectly baked flaky croissant base) and a raspberry maple latte (daily special) today. Boy howdy, were they both superb. They stock breads, including an amazing-looking focaccia, desserts, scones, danishes . . . just go! You'll be glad you did.

Yelp
Tried Crosby Bakery for the first time this weekend and loved it! We had an artichoke croissant, almond croissant, and a caramel roll -- everything was fresh and delicious. The building is brand new, very clean, and has both indoor and outdoor seating. If you sit outside, just be aware that the local birds are very bold -- one even landed on my husband's leg! Not the bakery's fault, just something to keep in mind. Overall, the food and atmosphere were great, and we'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Amazing new bakery in the spot that had nothing in it for a long time. My first stop was after they've been open for 4 days and I got one of their fresh baguettes. It was very dense and wholesome in a very nice baguette to accompany my walk around lake Superior. I will be back again and can't wait to try everything on the menu they have nice places to sit lots of desserts and lots of nice coffee options.

Yelp
OMG we loved this place and went three times in two days. The place is clean and inviting and smells incredible. Their scones were just the right amount of sconeness, the quiche scrumptious, and the ham and cheese croissant was flaky and cheesy in the best way. The people were friendly and accommodating.

Yelp
Omg the best baked good in a whole. They had this cranberry bread to die for. It was so good. I can't wait to try it with an actual sandwich like a turkey with som good spread. It's a dram I am having. The croissant. Was so flakey definitely done right with all the layers of butter goodness. And I got a scone and it was so yummy it was maple. I was in the north . Needed to have everything maple. Definitely a Great spot and I think they serve coffee and more. I just went for the bread and ended up with. 3 things. lol. Was so excited forgot to take pictures

Yelp
WOW! I'm making this shop a must stop at when I drive though town! Husband and I were pretty hungry on our drive home asked him to stop in, they had so many lovely choices, so we chose several items. My favorite was the artichoke hand held pie (not sure on that name), then the almond croissant!!!! My lord they were amazing! The ham and cheese croissant and the quiche, all SO good! Prices were nice, I saw many other items I'd love to try!

Yelp
This place is fantastic! What a lovely addition to Grand Marais. We tried the Cruffin (a croissant muffin), quiche, caramel roll and chocolate croissant. All so delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I tried this bakery out for a mocha and some baked goods. We tried the Ginger Molasses Cookie, as well as a few of their Raspberry White Chocolate Scones! They were so delicious! The scones weren't dry and the white chocolate was a great touch of sweetness. The cookie blew my mind cause of the dried ginger inside, which also added such a good texture. I highly recommend this as a stop in GM, and cant wait to try the Pizza Focaccia next time! Thanks Crosby team! Also loved the Step Brothers art piece in the back. Provided a good laugh while I enjoyed my goodies

Yelp
Such a cute little cafè the matcha was TEA. Run don't walk here. The stuff were so polite.

Yelp
Both savory and sweet pastries are some of the best I've had. Service was wonderful and quick, and the space is a wonderful place to visit and have a quick and tasty breakfast :). Pretty cheap too! Stop by if you can!

Carol T.

Yelp
Wonderful selection of sweet and savory items. Their slice of carrot cake was the best my husband ever ate, he said. As for me, I'd never heard of cruffins but now crave the ones they have there. Worth the trip!

Yelp
Delicious croissants (savory as well as sweet) and other bakery items, plus a broad variety of coffees and teas. Friendly servers - all together in a brand new building with plenty of seating!

Yelp
The almond croissant I had here was HUGE amongst the top I've had. I loved that it was not sickeningly sweet, just sweet enough and you could really taste the almonds. Incredible pastry. The house roasted drip coffee was smooth and delicious. I have a focaccia to go and can't wait for a bite! Everything in the case looks amazing. It's cozy inside and has a patio with seating. Love it. I'll be back!!
