Really enjoyed our relaxing short stay at the cross hill domes. Spent time on our deck balcony watching the sunset and stargazing. Rooms are very well equipped, spacious and beautiful. There were blankets we used to keep warm at night. I love there’s a lower curtain for the dome that you can close for more privacy or open for more visibility. Bathroom shower was nice and hot. There’s even a nice little kitchen area which I wish we got to use! Had some trouble controlling the air conditioning temperature but the nice electric blankets kept us warm :) There are only 6 domes so definitely book ahead. Staff were all very friendly and pleasant. Slight nick pick for improvement: WiFi is a bit slow. Dishes were in dishwasher when we arrived and didn’t look very clean. Overall would recommend and would come back!

We LOVED our stay at Cross Hill Lodge!!! The site was beautiful. Accommodations were clean. We booked the hot tub that came with a bottle of wine and a charcuterie board and would recommend doing the same because they were great additions to our stay. Sarah made us breakfast in the morning, which was delicious! We would definitely stay here again!!

New Zealand friendliness personified, this relaxing camping ground is in a great location for activities and sight-seeing. The owners have expanded to provide a glamorous version of camping that approximates a self-contained apartment with a kitchenette. Still a tent, though a high-tech geodesic frame covered with PVC, and good heating and hot water.||Views are of the rest of the camping ground, but that is part of camping ground life. |The lodge was once a home, now converted to the office, sitting room and whiskey room. The deck was also the place for communal breakfast (the dinners are no longer offered). While they do cater for dietary restrictions, each morning provides only one cooked option, e.g. pancakes one day, scrambled eggs & bacon the next. They did have cereal and juice each morning (and tea and coffee). Different milks are offered, and coconut yoghurt. Staff were very helpful with laundry, offering access to their washing machine and dryer, which made our life so much easier.||There was an onsite food truck that served the whole camping ground which had excellent family-pleasing burgers and pizzas. Loved the vegetarian pulled jackfruit burger (jalapeno marinade) with cheese and slaw on a sourdough bun. They aren’t open every day though, so check the hours that they operate. The town is 1.2 km walk away with a popular little supermarket /cafe and other hotel eating options.||This is a well thought out concept that delivers in comfort with an eye for detail.

Nice accomodation, very luxurious, the heater was slightly temperamental - probably from me - user error ! ||It's bright in the morning because there's no cover on the top of the dome. ||Delicious breakfast |Also had freshly baked blueberry cake on arrival. ||They left special cards for our birthday and parents wedding anniversary. ||Highly recommend the stay!

We stayed in cross hill (dome no. 3) for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and well furnished, with a massive bathroom. The outdoor deck was a great place to chill and have a beer while watching the sun set. The cooked breakfast (the homemade tomato relish in particular) served at the lodge was delicious with nice views of the green surrounds.

We came here for our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. Not only are the geodomes luxurious and comfortable, but Sarah is an amazing hostess. Would highly recommend requesting the local private chef meal. Incredible experience all around!

Cleanliness was great. Delicious breakfast provided too. The rain shower head was fantastic. No tissue box in room and no lake view. Overall it is a great stay and worth the overnight experience in dome.

Unique accomodation in a beautiful setting on the edge of lake Hawea. Most importantly the service from all of the staff was fantastic and the few issues that arose were sorted out a smile |The breakfasts are great and the closeness to the Hawea pub and Wanaka make exploring shopping and drinking easy
