Crossbuck Beer

Walked in to place my order and didn’t feel welcomed at all. After waiting for a few minutes, the host was able to take my order as she was on the phone with a customer. Ordered the Steak Frites (USDA Prime Top Sirloin, Demi, Garlic Aioli) and substituted the fries for the broccoli (a $2-charge) I also ordered the Smoked Gouda “Mac” (Pork Shoulder, Candied Jalapeño). While waiting for my food, I was sat at the bar and ordered the Spicy Blossom (Rancho Alegre Reposado Tequila, Triple Sec, Hibisucs Syrup, Muddled Jalapeno, Lime Juice) which was pretty refreshing. Great service at the bar! I was disappointed when I got back to my hotel. Unfortunately the thick steak slices were chewy and a bit grainy. It was not medium rare at all (no blood at the bottom was present) I had to spit out a chewy residue after each bite. Most of the broccoli florets were grilled correctly, the rest was really charred. The broccoli portion was too much compared to the steak portion. The demi-glacé was ok and lacked a bit of salt but didn’t see any garlic aioli with my food. The smoked Gouda mac appeared to have the color of smoked Gouda but barely tasted any Gouda, to be honest. The cheese sauce was a bit runny and needed some salt as well. Only noticed 2 small flavorless chunks of pork shoulder in the container with some shredded pieces at the bottom of the pasta. I really enjoyed the candied jalapeños though. The idea behind this combination would have blended well altogether if this was done properly. I couldn’t finish my dinner because my appetite was ruined. I figured the service and food quality would be outstanding based on the prices listed on the menu but I was wrong. None of the receipts were detailed and the prices did not match. I will NOT be eating there again.

I enjoyed the meal and the ambience here. A few take away, though. They have two menus, and two different styles of food. One is beer oriented (less expensive) and the other is wine oriented (more expensive). We opted for the less expensive option, as it was lunch time but I took a moment to look at the more expensive menu. I will definitely come back to experience the more expensive but ONLY for a very special occasion.

Nojha was very friendly but the food was a bit burnt in my opinion. For $42 steak without tax I’d not order the same. You need to book in advance, they are busy.

Service was awesome. Food was good. The crab cakes are all crab, very rich. I had the crab cakes n steak friters with mashed potatoes. I enjoyed every bit!

Food was quite good. We shared the Steak Bites (could've eaten a second order, easily), and the Fried Chicken Sando (very unique and tasty). The beers were just so-so...we split a flight and nothing really stood out, they were all a little average. Service was great, despite being late in the evening and busy. Our server was very prompt and attentive.

Excellent! Great food! Awesome beer. Excellent service! Employees are paid well, happy and eager to serve. The 20% gratuity they automatically charge is so the employees can be well paid with great benefits!

Incredible experience for our NYE dinner! Even with a large group, the server asked if we wanted the bill split in a certain way which was not expected but certainly appreciated! Impeccable service, great food, ambience, everything. Would give more than 5 stars if I could.

Fantastic addition to a favourite 6000 mile stop over. First time but greeted like regulars and made very welcome with great beer and food. Thanks to all at Crossbuck. Great job for Walla Walla community. Any chance being part of Walla Walla Guitar Festival next March 🤣 Hope so, an acoustic session would be fantastic. Cheers 🍻.
