The Best Restaurants for Guilin Rice Noodles and Yunnan Rice Noodles in Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles is backed by the owners of Buford Highway hand-pulled noodle institution Lan Zhou Ramen. Instead of wheat noodles, Crossing Bridge specializes in Yunnan rice noodles or 'crossing bridge noodles.' It’s a name shrouded in mystery, but is said to center around the story of a cantankerous scholar and his accommodating wife who would cross a bridge to an island daily to bring her husband food. In order to prevent the noodles from becoming soggy, the wife would carry the hot broth in an earthen pot with the noodles and other ingredients separately, only mixing everything together once she crossed the bridge. Try the tomato broth at Crossing Bridge with fatty beef. This broth is hearty and flavorful and almost has the consistency of creamy tomato soup. Unlike other restaurants offering these rice noodles, Crossing Bridge constructs the dish for you right before it hits the table, just like the wife from the tale." - Susie Chow

The Owners of LanZhou Ramen Are Opening Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle Restaurant in Duluth, Kennesaw, Atlanta - Eater Atlanta

"Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle opens by the end of the year on Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth. The restaurant centers its menu around rice noodles and noodle soups rather than LanZhou-style hand-pulled noodle dishes. It will include a few other dishes such as edamame, fried chicken wings, fried steamed buns, and sweets like the bite-sized Chinese pumpkin cakes." - Beth McKibben

The flavors here brought me right back to Yunnan! Their Crossing Bridge rice noodle set was rich, flavorful, and served piping hot. The crispy-bottom dumplings were a standout, and the cold cucumber and tofu skin salads balanced the meal nicely. Highlights: ✔ Authentic Yunnan flavors – the broth is aromatic and comforting. ✔ Variety of dishes – everything from dumplings to side salads was on point. ✔ Friendly staff and fast service. Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Perfect spot for a comforting, flavorful noodle experience. Will definitely come again!

Google
Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle is absolutely amazing! The broth is rich and flavorful — comforting and deeply satisfying. I highly recommend the Sole Fish Rice Noodle Soup — the fish slices are huge, tender, and plentiful. The smell and taste of the green Sichuan peppercorn is super addictive, and the soup is just SO good. Don’t miss the handmade glutinous rice cake — it’s chewy, soft, and seriously delicious. The portions are generous, and I always leave feeling full and happy. Every flavor I've tried has its own character. Friendly service, clean space — 100% worth the visit. Five stars all the way!

Google
Crossing Bridge is an underrated spot in Duluth - some of the most authentic, flavorful options in the area, with very friendly, helpful and informative staff! They were happy to explain their menu and concept to us. We enjoyed a selection of the very many different types of soups and combinations they offer with delicious, authentic rice noodles, as well as some of their amazing soup dumplings. It was a bit difficult to keep the soup dumplings intact as we were picking them up due to the base, bur the flavor was amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone, especially those who frequent this strip and haven't dropped by yet - I wish I had gone sooner!

Google
We had a nice time here - the staff was very friendly and helped us navigate a peanut allergy. We got pork buns and two orders of the dry noodles (one beef, one pig ear) since it was too hot for soup. Very flavorful and quick!

Google
We told the server that our sons have a peanut allergy and confirmed with her twice "no peanuts". Lo and behold, there were many peanuts in the pig ear noodle. We told the server and she took it back to the kitchen... and the noodles came back a minute later. There was 1 peanut still in there. All they did was pick the peanuts out. That is severely disappointing and very dangerous. The catfish nuggets also were not cooked all the way. The fish inside was still cold. The servers were extremely nice and apologetic during this very disappointing meal. They removed the pig ear noodles off the check, gave 2 cokes, and a 10% discount. None of that rectifies the situation, but I appreciate how they tried to better this situation. But overall, it is NOT OKAY to just remove the peanuts. My sons could have gone into anaphylaxis. We will definitely not be going ever again.

Google
My family took me here for the first time and I absolutely loved it. Staff was nice and friendly, very helpful. I love how there was so much food for very reasonable prices. The fried buns with condensed milk are a must order. I couldn’t stop eating them. The broth was flavorful and rich. The dumplings are also a must try. Will definitely be back to try other dishes next time.

Google
Fantastic experience from start to finish! The food was flavorful, beautifully presented, and full of authentic taste—especially the beef noodles, which were fun and delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the portions generous. The staff was welcoming and attentive, and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. A truly unique dining experience that I’d highly recommend!

Google
One of my absolute favorite places, the first time we went in! The food literally came out in 10 seconds. We ordered, i went to wash my hands, and it was out before i came back. The food itself was DELICIOUS too! I literally drank my broth as water. I got an order from the spicy section (A8) and it was amazing. Also got some soup dumplings & pan fried dumplings too. Service was great too; everyone is so friendly. Bathrooms were very clean. Some people who came in even knew the workers by name! Shows the relationship they've built over time, which is very respectable. I came in tired from sitting in traffic & a bit cranky, and this place lifted my spirits x100!! We will be back!

Yelp
My family and I have been to Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle half a dozen times now. This place is our go-to whenever we are in the area shopping for Asian groceries. Our primary reason coming here is that 1) We love all kinds of noodles and these rice noodles are amazing, 2) We have food allergies to deal with, and 3) For the most part, pretty kid-friendly. You really can't go wrong with any of the dishes. We usually order Shenjian Bao (Pan fried baos which don't contain egg), and honestly, any of the noodles. The last few times I've gotten the original broth with fish. The fish fillets are large and abundant that I can share with our kids. We're also fans of the pig-ear cold appetizer. Recently we ordered dry noodles for the kids, but my son seems to like the soup noodles better. The reason I say this place is allergy friendly and it works for us is because there's no dairy (which is true to most Asian noodle shops), and their buns/dumplings don't use egg. When ordering food, definitely let your waiter/waitress know that you have specific allergies as they can make sure there's no peanuts or sesame. If you're aware of egg allergies like we are, occasionally there's a single quail egg in the soup noodles. We're grateful and look forward to Duluth shopping trips because there's the prospect of us stopping here for lunch/dinner. The food is fast and we can comfortably order in English (or Mandarin) without being judged haha.

Yelp
This is a restaurant in a mall setting. We were on our trip to Atlanta, Duluth, and Savannah in September 2024. We were in the mood for Yunnan Rice Noodles. I ordered ma-la noodles. My order came quickly. It didn't taste bad but I can tell the broth was quick made using Sichuan hot-pot sauce. The imported sauce is authentic but not for this Yunnan delicacy. Other noodle soup might be good but I would not recommend it if you really want the authentic Yunnan Rice Noodles (a soup dish well known in China).

Yelp
It was more a family vibe. It came out within like 15 mins. I go the A1. Which Sole fish rice noodle soup. It was great for a rainy or cold day. I would say put your own flavoring into to it to make it salty, flavorable, or spicy. I was able to finish it but it does take a while to eat it. The cold bean curd was not my favorite texture as it's more slimy and crinkly texture.

Yelp
The restaurant has plenty of seating with half of them being table booths. The menu consists mainly of noodle soups and a few options for dry noodles. I ordered the soup expecting it be spicy but it wasn't. The broth was rich and has flavor, it just wasn't what I wanted. The noodles were also on the more overcooked side so there were many broken pieces at the bottom of the broth. The meat was also very tough and rubbery, but the flavor was okay. I'm on the fence about coming back but I would definitely order something different.

Yelp
If you are looking authentic Chinese food, this is your place! This dish is very pepper heavy, hence it was not my favorite and not my type of food. But true to the name of the dish, it is numbing. A family owned business and very homey. The staff is great!

Mark R.

Yelp
Refused to put anything on the side so I could add it to my soup later, even though the picture on the menu has everything on the side. They said we don't do it like that anymore. It wasn't a big deal, so we got up to leave. Then they demanded we pay for the other food we ordered even though we never touched it because they said they already made it. So silly to get a bad review over a bowl of noodles. It would have been so simple to put something on the side.

Yelp
This place really hits the spot for a good broth/soup place! Located in the Great Wall plaza near other SE Asian eats, this is one of my new favorite places to go to. The soup was rich and flavorful, portions were enormous, staff was friendly, and service was quite fast. The main attraction is the noodle soups but there are other side appetizer dishes which are quite good- highly recommend the Takoyaki squid balls. I have been in search of these outside of Japan and this place made it well- soft and melting inside with crisp on outside, right amount of ginger and vinegar and the famous drizzle of takoyaki sauce. Also ordered the shredded yummy potatoes- this was served cold but still tasted great. I am used to this dish being a hot dish but vinegar and salt amounts still crisp to the palate. The tripe was also good as well I ordered the OG flavor and it did not disappoint. flavorful rich bone broth with melt in your mouth beef. Large amount of noodle with ample toppings of veggies. The ma la flavor and the spicy cabbage ones were also quite good too. No one would finish their portions. Enormous! Make sure to drink the soup since that is what took the longest to make. Service was fast and good. Staff were friendly and attentive.

Yelp
After a wonderful time watching Kung Fu Panda 4 at the movies, we thought it's only right if we went out for dumplings!! They were completely sold out of the shanghai steamed pork buns and the shanghai fried pork buns so I'm assuming they're popularly ordered (especially today due to the release of the movie). However, the soup dumplings are delicious! Can't imagine anything that could top this so I definitely want to come back and to try the sold out buns! They were filled with warm flavorful soup as soon as you take a bite! And the fried pork dumplings were amazing! Quite possibly, my partner's favorite dish out of the three we ordered! My partner and I can handle spice but just in case, we got the 1 pepper Szechuan soup! It wasn't spicy to us at all but, it was still extremely delicious and flavorful. Perfect for the rainy weather that we got hit with this day! And the beef was super tender and soft! It seemed like we came after the rush but, the atmosphere was super comfortable and the servers were extremely attentive and catering! Definitely wanna come back again to try the curry soup and the Garlic and Sour cucumbers!

Yelp
**This review really goes out to the man who really did what he could to help me when I was being harassed in the parking lot while delivering great service for my take out order. Thank you!** My usual rice noodle spot is Ten Seconds in Doraville, but I was in the area so decided to try the Numbed Spicy Fatty Beef noodle. For starters, I got the meal to go so when I got home, all the toppings that are usually in small dishes were cooking in the soup - which was great because everything really absorbed that numbed spicy soupy flavor. Would recommend giving this place a try. For the real star of the show - the man who picked up the restaurant phone to help me complete my transaction and bring the food to my car, while staying on the phone with me the entire time, thank you. I was being harassed in the parking lot and the restaurant employee helped me to complete my transaction for my order and brought out my food to me, quickly and kindly. He even stayed outside the restaurant until I left and made sure the harasser was not following me. This is top notch service and I'm extremely appreciative. Thank you Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle!

Yelp
THE FOOD: Szechuan sliced beef (broth not shown) Cute portions of various veggies, tofu skin, quail egg, ham, and pickled greens. Broth come in bubbling hot stone bowl (don't burn yourself) The food is subpar for the price. It's a lot of noodles but their soup base is SUPER oily. They offer chili, sesame, and Szechuan pepper oil on sauce bar. THE SERVICE: Charged me for a Togo box, servers are rude and don't pay attention to me since I don't speak Chinese. After dropping off the check to me mid meal they floated by the table numerous times to see if I was ready to pay. MID MEAL. I felt pressured and hurried and will not be returning. Also... lettuce in soup is wrong... give me cabbage!!

Yelp
First time trying crossing bridge rice noodles! This place is located on the right side of the Sweet Hut plaza on Pleasant Hill. Came for a Saturday lunch and it was decently crowded. The bowls were already assembled (rather than ingredients all separated), but it was still delicious. The clay bowls are put in an insulating stand so it's not hot to the touch and you can easily move it. The soup stays hot during the entire meal. Fatty beef was tender and delicious! It didn't get over cooked despite being pre-assembled. Though each soup has a set spicy level on the menu, you can adjust it when you order. Numbed spicy fatty beef rice noodle soup $13 - pretty good spice level Szechuan pepper fatty beef rice noodle soup (numbed) $13 - decent flavor, would prefer something spicier personally (maybe )

Yelp
Unfortunately, this place did not hit my craving, though I could have ordered the wrong thing: Original broth with Beef flank: I do appreciate the plentiful beef flank that is in the dish (I thought they only gave 3 pieces at first, then discovered a treasure cove of goodies at the bottom of the bowl). My qualm with this would be that the broth was very lackluster and unflavorful. There was some creaminess from the bone broth, but it didn't taste like much else, which was disappointing. Perhaps I should have opted for a flavored broth instead of this, but this was very much just like hot water with a bit of salt and cream. Braised fatty intestine: You get quite a lot with this, and the sauce is nice and garlicky. They really emphasize the "fatty" in these intestines, so be sure to share or you'll find yourself in line for a heart attack. I also slightly question their cleaning of these intestines, as some pieces were hmmmmmmmm...but I'll try to give benefit of doubt. Overall, the broth was just way too disappointing for me to find any excitement in my meal. I think one of the employees was the son or family member of another and kept being bratty to his elder...sorry, but I'm hearing it all and it's just not professional. Probably won't be back, but it was worth a try.

Yelp
My husband and I love coming here, but we always mess up by getting two different noodle soups. The portion of the soup is enough for 2, you can always get an extra side of noodles. The soup bases are not too salty which is perfect.

Yelp
We had lunch here today and enjoyed it. Service is polite and efficient. Nothing special but, more importantly, nothing lacking. We ordered the soup dumplings- the dumplings were good. The broth was rich. The filling was a bit different but good. The dumplings came to the table intact. The lamb skewer- this was my favorite !!! Such a simple thing yet amazing! I requested it medium spicy and it was perfect. I swear if I go back and just get three lamb skewers I will be perfectly happy. It is spicy but not overwhelming. The lamb is flavorful but not too muttony. It is delicious. Spicy sour broth with beef- the broth is wonderful. A little sour a little spicy a little fatty just right. There was beef, cabbage, quail egg, corn, some crab, a bit of spam?, and of course lots of rice noodles. The portions are generous and my husband and I shared it. It is plenty for two if you are also ordering dumplings and lamb skewers!! We will definitely return. Hopefully soon!

Yelp

Yelp
I visited here specifically for their new hand-pulled thick and wide wheat noodles. They were just as amazing as I was hoping for. All is well in the world. If you've ever heard of the famous "biang-biang" noodles, these are similar but not as wide. This is now my #2 spot for handmade noodles in the Atlanta area. The menu is basically comprised of a few appetizers-- all the rest of the menu is different broth and meat prices itemized. Therefore, the menu may appear to be 2 pages, but it is really simple. The appetizers here are really good, but the pan fried buns and dumplings are more greasy than other places in the area. The filling is not as flavorful also. You will notice that their appetizers cost almost 50% less than the same dishes at some other locations. That is because the portion size is smaller. Which is fine with me, as I always order too much food anyways. Their house garlic dipping sauce is excellent and unique. I tried both their original broth and the numbing broth. Flank beef and also fish as protein choices. The soups have so much meat inside! And, both broths I tried were rich and so flavorful, highly addictive! The soups arrive boiling and can be served two different ways, upon your request: 1. all of the toppings as small side dishes (my preference) 2. all of the toppings inside of the bubble soup The soups will always have your meat and noodle choice inside. Their house noodle is a thin noodle, but like I noted, I ordered and prefer the wide and chewy noodles. It was nice to find a hand-pulled noodle restaurant that had just numbing flavor. Typically, you have to get numbing and spicy together, which is fine, but it was nice to just focus on the more rare numbing peppercorn flavor this time.

Yelp
This place is relatively new and located in a great spot in Duluth. It's in the same complex as Sweet Hut/Ding Tea, which means there's never an issue with parking as the parking lot is huge. If you're craving for hot pot, you should give this place a try. They do an amazing job on it. Other than hot Pots, the noodle soups are also nice- I ordered the beef noodle soup and absolutely loved it. The beef was tender and the noodles had a really good texture. I also ended up getting the soup dumplings- they were so moist and tasty... wow! I would definitely go back for these dumplings and try something new from the menu. They were maintaining social distancing when I was there. So I was super comfortable to take my mask off and eat peacefully. Lastly, the servers are so sweet, their behavior makes you want to visit this place again and again.

Yelp
This place is too cute especially the art on the wall. It speaks history and culture of the food being served. I loved the idea of artwork. I came during lunch hour and food came out pretty fast. My friend and I both ordered the Sour spicy golden broth-fish noodles. It was huge and delicious. My friend has been here many times prior. It was my first time here and service was great. Did I mention how big the portion was? I mean huge! I was stuffed. I would like to come back to try some meat skewers, appetizers, and soup dumplings! I will be back!

Anahi O.

Yelp
The fried steamed buns are must. I would go back just for these buns. The soups dumplings were good on their own. But if you really want to elevate the flavors I definitely recommend using the broth from the noodles. The noodles were extremely good as they were full of flavor and spices. The staff are also very friendly and patient. This is definitely comfort meal, after leaving the restaurant I was more than satisfied.

Yelp
I was looking for an authentic Chinese noodle restaurant while in Duluth and found this gem on Yelp. They are open for dine in and the seats are far apart from each other for social distancing. We got the lamb and beef Yunnan rice noodle soups, lamb skewers, and pot stickers. Honestly we could've shared one rice noodle soup because the portion was huge! The soups were in giant buckets lol. Both broths were delicious but I think I prefer the lamb better, the beef broth kinda reminded me of pho. The noodles had a lovely chewy texture and the meat were cooked perfectly tender. However, my favorite thing was probably the lamb skewers! I cried on the inside because they were so freaking delicious and reminded me of my childhood when I'd get lamb skewers from street food vendors in my hometown in China. Overall I'm really happy with the food. The service could've been better but it's rough times so I'm not trying to be picky. Look forward to going back again and getting more lamb skewers!!!

Yelp
Very delicious Szechuan pepper noodble. I come here everytime starving the spicy numbed flavor.

Yelp
Wish I lived closer to the Great Wall shopping center for so many wonderful restaurants in the area. Was feeling cold one evening, and a hot bowl of noodles sounded like the fix. So I stopped in Yunnan crossing bridge noodle place. I had the Sour Spicy Fatty Beef Noodles. Just the right amount of sour vegetable (cabbage, I think) and a delicious spicy rich broth. The Yunnan noodles were delicious. Do yourself a favor and get a couple Lamb Skewers too. So tender, with a lot of cumin and that flavor you only get from wood/coal fire.
google avatar

Livie G.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! Very nice atmosphere. There are many different hot pot combinations to try. The soup dumplings although a very good size have literally no soup in them but they had a good amount of meat inside them. Very good service and they even bag your to go order for you. Will be coming back!

Yelp
This is the best restaurant to come for crossing bridge rice noodles. I've visited a few similar locations in Doraville and Philadelphia, yet this place definitely stands out in terms of flavor. It has to do with the way they prepare the broth. Unless if you specify that you want the ingredients to be separated, this place will serve you the noodles with all the ingredients already in the bowl. At other locations, you have the option to mix in the ingredients yourself, which is a fun experience, but the broth is always missing that special something. I typically order the Original Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle Soup (原味过桥线). If I want more meat, I will order the Original Fatty Beef Rice Noodle Soup (原味肥线) instead. If you're thinking about getting appetizers, I recommend trying the Sliced Beef with Beef Tendon (夫妻肺) or Garlic & Sour Cucumber (凉拌). I get the beef when I want something spicy and the cucumber when I want something refreshing to pair with my noodles. Service is fast and it doesn't take long to get your noodles after you place your order. The walls feature traditional Chinese artwork and calligraphy that add some cultural touch to the ambiance. If you're struggling to decide whether or not to try this place, just come and taste the noodles for yourself, you won't be disappointed! I've recommended this place to a lot of my friends and they have all loved it.

Yelp
If you are looking for a soup or noodles dish, I recommend checking out Yunnan. They specialize in rice noodle soups with a variety of broth style like Kimchi, Sour & Spicy, and numbing spicy. The broth is light but very flavorful and is amazingly priced (~$12) while packing a lot of food. I ordered the fatty beef choice and everything in it was good. Soft tender beef, quail egg, pieces of ham, and few other veggies. I really like the type of bowl they serve in as it retains the heat longer and throughout the entirety of your meal. Definitely get the pan fried pork dumplings/buns. They are fun to eat and very delicious, slightly crispy bottom with soft flour top.

Yelp
We decided to randomly chose this place for dinner one night, and I have to say the broths are are very tasty. We both ended up getting a tomato based broth, my bf got a spicy version, and it was super filling! Recommend, especially on a cold day.
google avatar

Sue K.

Yelp
Plenty of parking by the restaurant , it's in the same shopping plaza as sweet hut. So word from the wise, save some room for dessert, there are a few stores to choose from! Staff wore masks but no social distancing inside. During lunch rush it is fairly crowded. But the food arrived in a timely manner Original Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle Soup: light broth but still flavored. Broth is perfect to drink on a cold day! Assorted Mushroom Rice Noodle Soup: also fairly light broth. Kimchi Beef Rice Noodle Soup: slightly spicy, good amount of meat, taste was perfect! Soupy dumplings: was meh, not a lot of broth and personally would prefer smaller size dumplings. Overall would be back when the weather is colder!

Yelp
I used to come to this place all the time, pre-pandemic. I came back a few days ago and things are not the same. First, I got the soup dumplings ($7). I ordered them as soon as I sat down and waited a few minutes before ordering my noodles. My noodles came out well before the dumplings. I think I was halfway through the piping hot bowl of noodles before my dumplings came. When they finally did arrive, they were warm, not hot. I was able to easily devour the first dumpling without any wait. The dumpling skin were a bit thicker than I would like but it was still good. The noodle soups are no longer served with all the ingredients separate from the soup. The lamb noodle broth ($13) was good and flavorful. However, the meat was very dry despite the thick pieces. My husband got the original noodle soup. The broth was delicious. I was disappointed all the ingredients came already in the broth. I like adding certain ingredients later so they don't overcook.I

Yelp
First time trying this restaurant. The restaurant specializes in sizzling hot soup rice noodle. The menu has plenty of choices for you to choose between regular, beef, numbing, tomato, kimchi soup base. Also they have options for beef, pork, seafood meat. After placing our order, it took about 13 minutes for the food to come out. The soup is boiling when it comes out, so be careful and let it cool before you start sipping that soup. It continue to boil for another couple minutes. The portion is very generous with plenty of soup and noodle. I ordered the Szechuan Pepper Numbed Pork Chop, so I was expecting pork chop, but instead it had couple of pieces of pork ribs. Not exactly what I thought I was getting but I ate it anyways. The soup base is flavorful and rich. The numbing flavor definitely numbed my tongue and lips. As for the portion, there is plenty to fill you up.

Yelp
Love this place and food! We came in here many times. Almost try every kind of noodle soup, for us is good and don't forget to add some green paper oil in , that's fantastic

Yelp
Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle, is located in Duluth, GA on Pleasant Hill Road. It's in the same shopping plaza as Sweet Hut but more towards the opposite end. Crossing bridge style noodles (guoqiao mixian) originate from the Yunnan province in China. Don't want to go too much into the history of it, but its basically been around since dynasty times. The best way to describe the noodles are that there are individual ingredients separated out. You have the noodles that are added first to the broth. Then, you add the individual condiment dishes afterwards. These are usually a mix of veggies, spices and meat. There probably is a particular order, but the only thing I will say is that the items you want to cook longer, you should put in first, since the broth will cool down as you throw more items in. The interior is Chinese to the core in terms of decor, color scheme, and design. You get a real traditional vibe and atmosphere as soon as you step foot into the restaurant. I ordered the Sour Spicy Rice Noodle soup. It wasn't that sour. I would describe the taste, closer to tom yum, but a bit lighter. It wasn't too spicy either. The broth is thick and rich. You get plenty of variety in the dish as well in terms of veggies and meat. Good flavor. The amount of noodles they give is a lot and will definitely fill you up. In terms of service. They do a good job of checking up on you. If you're confused by the menu, they will help you out there as well. They even guide you to how to add the ingredient dishes to your noodles when you get it at your table. So if you're new, this place makes it easy on first time visitors who aren't familiar with the cuisine. Overall, definitely worth trying out for those who are interested in something that's a bit different. There aren't that many Yunnan cuisine based restaurants to begin with in GA, so if you're feeling adventurous, give this place a try. For the experience, the affordable prices, menu variety, and the portion sizes, you can't go wrong here! As always thanks for reading, until next time!

Yelp
Perfect dinner spot for cold weather! Was recommended this place by a friend and was not disappointed!! I ordered the A8 hot and sour sliced beef (13.99) and all ingredients were served together in the bowl. It was mild spice and a little sour. I would definitely come back again!

Yelp
Awesome spot! I've been here twice, and the food is fantastic. Service is quick and considerate. For a rice noodle restaurant, the side dishes are honestly much better than the noodles. The guotie (potstickers) and shengjianbao (buns) are crispy on the bottoms and juicy on the inside with a flavorful dipping sauce. However, the rice noodles are slightly underwhelming (I ordered sour and spicy golden broth, but it was quite mild, not very spicy or sour.) It was good with the addition of vinegar and chili oil. Great place for a casual and friendly lunch.

Yelp
I've heard great things about this place so finally I had to check it out. Yunnan is located on Pleasant Hill behind the IHOP in the same shopping center as Sweet Hut & Great Wall Supermarket. The parking lot has plenty of parking and the restaurant can accommodate larger parties. The menu offers cold dishes, dim sum, kabobs, for appetizers and a variety of soup broths for entrees. The server's recommendation includes the Sour & spicy broth as well as the spicy broth option. Since it was my first time, I decided to go with something basic. For my meal, I ordered beef broth and tendon. The meal came out very fast and it was steaming hot. My food came out in a super large bowl consisting of rice noodles, tendons, mushroom, and assorted veggies. The broth was very flavorful. Overall, I enjoyed this place a lot. Highly recommended.

Yelp
Visiting Atlanta and decided to come to Duluth for asian food. The experience was amazing. The food was delicious and the service was good too. The lamb kabobs were very authentic. The buns were really good with the sauce provided. For my main dish I got the spicy rice noodle. it was good and not to oily. But I soon realized that maybe the original broth is the right way to go if you want to drink the broth/soup too. While we were waiting for our food, there was a line, but the line moved fast.

Yelp
Huge fan of the pork buns. 5/5 Sichuan beef slices: super spicy and gets spicier as you get towards the bottom of the dish 5/5 All noodle soups seem to come with Asian pickled cabbage, corn, quail egg, ham, fried peanuts. All ingredients already placed in soup when it arrived (unlike in menu pictures/ other yelp pictures). Arrives in the hottest broth ever - broth at a rolling boil. You're protected from scalding by the plastic sleeve your bowl sits in. Sichuan pork ribs noodle - Light spicy 4/5 Beef tendon noodle: large chunks of tendons (almost too large). My favorite soup base. 5/5 for broth, 4/5 for tendon pieces because they were so large it was hard to chew through; taste and texture great. Beef curry mixed Beef noodle - smelled amazing, smelled of curry, not much curry taste and the broth was fairly clear (unlike the creamy yellow pictured on the menu). 4/5 for broth, 5/5 for beef. So much parking! This place is awesome

Yelp
My experience.... Ordered food, asked for extra noodles, told internet was going to disconnect and could we pay for our food up front. Order was at table but was asked to pay for entire meal when I asked for extra noodles. Ordered tomato broth veggies only. Found a quail egg and crab mid way through. Waitress thanked me when I showed her then Walked away. Friend asked if internet ended up going down and the waitress acted as if she didn't hear my friend. She asked twice. I saw 2 other Patriots pay after completely finishing meal. This experience was interesting. Where else would you go and have to pay up front? Completely felt discriminated against! 100% Additional training is needed...PERIOD!!

Yelp
Saw great reviews on this place so I decided to check it out while I was in town. The first thing I noticed when I came in was that the servers were so nice and attentive. Love the great service. I got the Szechuan Pepper Sole Fish Rice Noodle Soup and tried the lamb rice noodle soup as well. I thought it would be more like a hot pot but it's basically just noodles and soup. The veggies and stuff that they put into the soup for you look cute but when I was eating my dish I couldn't even find them because it wasn't a lot of vegetables at all. The soup base for the szechuan pepper soup is delicious and is the perfect amount of a little spicy and a lot of numbness. The lamb soup was really mild but the meat tasted good.

Yelp
Decent but not great. Mostly different types of soups with noodles. We had the numbing beef flank soup, soup dumplings and pot stickers. The dumplings tasted the same - don't order both. Should have got a skewer. Worth trying if you really want noodle soup. I like a good ramen place better personally

Yelp
Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle is a sister restaurant to Lanzhou Noodle. They're building a small empire here in the Atlanta area. I *don't* think they're related to Dagu Rice Noodle in Buford Highway. But they do serve similar foods. Heck Dagu even has a noodle called "Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles." This style of noodle is the new trend of Chinese cuisine. What is a Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle? Well, here it is from their website: """ The origin of the name "Crossing the Bridge" is unknown, however one story begins with a scholar. His wife would bring him food but found out by the time she had crossed the bridge, the soup became cold and soggy. She decided to load a large earthen pot with boiling broth and added a layer of oil on top to act as insulation to keep the broth warm while the noodles and other ingredients were kept in separate containers. Once she 'crossed the bridge' to the other island, she mixed the two containers together, creating a warm fresh soup-now known as Crossing the Bridge Noodle soup! """ Their noodle soups come in a giant earthen pot, like the story says. It's like a deconstructed noodle soup. I tried their original Crossing Bridge Noodle Soup. The noodles are thick and chewy. The broths are delicious. It's comforting, flavorful, full of umami, and lip smacking with collagen. It *tastes* like they boiled it for a long time. They have other broths you can choose from like Lamb and Beef. I also tried their lamb broth. It is much "cleaner" tasting with a lighter broth. But you can taste the warm, comforting flavors of lamb in the broth. If you want, you can add other extras in your soup like more noodles and protein. Besides noodle soups, they have a ton of other non-soup based foods you can try. Since they're a sister restaurant of Lanzhou, they even have the popular Shanghai Pan Fried Pork Buns! I didn't order it but saw other tables. It looked like the original version from Lanzhou. On a cold, rainy day, this would be the perfect place to go. If you're a noodle soup lover, you need to check this place out.

Yelp
This tastes like someone's grandmother and great grandmother is having a cook off in the kitchen. In other words it's amazing!!! I have tried this place many times and I have not found a dish I did not like. The dumplings (all of them) have a taste I didn't even know I was looking for. This place tastes like home!

Yelp
With any legitimate Chinese cuisine, there's a story to it. The Legend of the Yunnan Crossing Bridge noodle soup dish is said that a scholar decided that for the best means of ensuring he accomplishes his tasks and his studies, he must spend his time at a little island where he would spend nearly the whole day studying. The story says that his wife would then cross the bridge to the island to deliver him some food but by the time she reached him, the noodles were soggy, and the soup was cold and not enjoyable. She got the idea then to separate the noodles and also put a layer of oil to keep the broth insulated. As she did, the scholar enjoyed the meal and that's the story. That being said, this place makes the broth a priority. I have a few points of contention. One point is the lack of flavor. I ordered the fatty beef broth version and had to reheat the broth because Atlanta traffic doesn't allow anyone to enjoy a meal that you shouldn't do take out with such as broths or AYCE Korean BBQ. In reheating this, I had to add some hot oil and Chinese black vinegar and it was decent but no flavor bomb that I know Chinese cooking is known for. I was hoping to have this serene wave of savory flavor that would hit me and bring a kind of comfort that broths are known to do but this didn't. Even after adding hot oil and the vinegar, there wasn't all that much The noodles did get a bit soggy but after reheating the broth, it was somewhat enjoyable but another point of contention was the sheer lack of meat in a fatty meat dish. I was hoping for fatty meat. All I got were these little bits of brisket that shrank to almost nothing. At $11.95 plus tax, and that's all I got kind of was a letdown in my opinion. If good first impressions help to continue a relationship, this Yunnan Crossing Bridge Noodles did not deliver a great first impression that spurs me to keep coming. Maybe the other selections might prove otherwise but now, the blandness and the sheer lack of portions makes it not worth my time to be honest.

Yelp
I really like this place. I always order either their numbing broth with lamb or brisket. After coming here a few times, I think the brisket is the best meat option. When you receive your bowl of boiling hot broth, they will ask if you need help dumping your ingredients in the bowl. If you want to do it yourself, make sure you crack the egg into the broth first, then you dump in your meat, and follow that with the rest of the ingredients in front of you. You mix it all together for a minute and it's ready to eat. You must also try their skewers. I've tried their lamb and beef skewers, which are super good (marinated in herbs and spices). You have the option between mild or spicy. I love the spicy! I have also tried their fried dumplings, and they're just okay (make sure to ask for chilli oil!). I love coming here because the food comes out pretty quickly, and service is usually great. The only downside I can think of is when we had to pay and there was no one around to flag down. This happened on more than one occasion. Regardless, I love the noodles and skewers here!

Yelp
Yunnan Crossing Bridge Rice Noodle recently opened in Duluth, so I thought it was about time I tried it out. Located at the back of a plaza, it can either easily be missed or glanced over with the other choices next door. But if you happen to see this place, definitely give it a try. In the midst of this all Corona virus pandemic, only a few restaurants are left that choose to stay open. Yunnan gets my vote of confidence, as my partner and I, were greeted with both kindness and care when it comes to being sanitary. While we ate, the workers that were there, always took the chance to clean both the door, dining area, and bathroom when nothing else was going on. The noodle soups range in variety, depending on your taste and spice level, you definitely can pick to your taste buds desire. I went with the Original Fatty Beef Noodle soup, while my partner chose the Kimchi Fatty Beef Noodle soup. Both choices tasted great, mine was on the more safe side if you don't know what to choose. Also got the Steamed Soup Dumplings, tasted great but leaves room wanting more. The meat inside is definitely 'hearty', but there wasn't enough soup in my opinion. Still a good dish to choose, but expect that when you order it. Overall, I recommend giving Yunnan a try. Not only for the good comfort food, but for the fast that they keep sanitation levels high amidst everything going on right now.

Yelp
Pretty good - had the 3-star spicy level which tasted like a blend of the mala, Chinese sour pickle juice, some typical seasoning, and Shin Ramyun. Didn't expect all the fillings dumped into the bowl (not like what you see on their ad), but that didn't ruin the experience. Surprisingly I'm not drinking much water afterwards, so they must have skimped on MSG (or maybe I'm accustomed to it), which is good. Didn't know they are a chain of the Lanzhou on Buford Hwy, which was pretty legit. Will return, but please, don't throw chopsticks on the table.

Yelp
Delicious comfort food. Nothing like good broth and rice noodles. Can't go wrong with the original fatty beef noodle soup. I also like the sour fatty beef.

Yelp
New rice noodle restaurant!! Yay! I was looking for a rice noodle restaurant and kept on searching on Yelp but I couldn't find one, so my sister recommended we look around the Sweet Hut plaza (I'm not 100% sure what that plaza was called). Also, I didn't know of any good rice noodle restaurants so we decided to try this place out... Well... I wanted to try it out. They just opened yesterday, November 5th. Our server told us that since they've just opened they don't have a lot of food options available. I really wanted to try their pork buns but all they had was their skewers and pot stickers. I was like "Sure why not! It's a new place and I want to try it for the heck of it!" I wanted the wide flat noodle but they didn't have any (oh well.. Next time). What I ordered: Fried Pot Sticker Dumplings with Onion (it also had beef in it) - $6.95 This came out somewhat burnt but tasted good... Weird. One of the servers brought us soy sauce but it tasted sweet, sour and salty.. I was not a fan of the taste. My sister asked for chili oil and it was REALLY GOOD with the pot stickers! I was so glad my sister asked for it! Beef Rice Noodle Soup - $11.95 (the waiter got my meat wrong but it still tasted good... He gave my beef to my sister and I had her meat... Still tasted good, though!) The way they served everything reminded me of a hot pot style. It was really new for me. My sister told me to add everything into the broth which was inside a hot stone bowl. Very cool! Numbed Spicy Fatty Beef Rice Noodle Soup - $11.95 (This was what my sister ordered. I should've known the meat I got was hers, but I was so hungry I didn't think it was hers... We enjoyed it, anyways!) N.Y. Lamb Kabob cooked medium - $2.50 ea (I ordered it to have regular spice level to it. At first, I didn't want to try it, but then tried it and it tasted good! My sister really enjoyed the flavors!) I enjoyed the food, so yes, I would definitely come back!! And I want to try the pork buns and the other menu items!

Yelp
Great noodle soup spot. Lots of different options to choose from for broths and toppings. Recommend the braised intestines for appetizer. My fav is the numbing spicy with fatty beef! It has the perfect amount of umami without being too salty, slightly spicy and hint of numbing peppercorns. Comes with plenty of the meat too, but you can always order extra meat/toppings.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost, there are many better options nearby. The MaoCai lamb rice noodle is a joke, where the soup taste like dishwasher and no lamb what so ever, just cabbage and lamb stomach. First time visiting the place, not sure how they got this high review, probably most fake review. I would highlight not recommend this place from the bottom of my head. There are many better rice noodle place in Buford, DaGu, Tensecond, much better taste, lower price, than this little horrible place. Worth calling out one of the waitresses try to mitigate the situation by offering me lamb plate on the side, that's why I give two star instead of one. Still the taste is bad, service is bad, food is bad. Avoid at all cost.
