Yelp
I like chicken fingers, onion rings, and fries. I love to have myself some bar food every couple of weeks, with a beer, on Friday! Who doesn't right? I've always passed by Crown & Anchor living by the area, and I heard about their fish and chips... I never stopped by until today.
I went to get my onion rings craving. I was in the mood for them all week, but I didn't want to drive by a fast food place and get them since they can be very dry, and without flavor. I was a little hesitant to stop by this place, not going to lie. Crown & Anchor's entrance is dark, dim, full of pictures, signs, awards, and d wood. The building has aged from being in our town, and you walk into this huge place. You wait to be seated, you sit as far away as the bar if you don't smoke to not inhale anything, and you get lost in their artwork.
The place resembles a huge ship to me, I was lost in their decor, in the people there, amazed at our server Jessica and one bartender running the entire restaurant, we didn't think we'd get fast service, but we did! Onion rings, chips, and we ordered some chicken fingers too. The food was out pretty quick. It was hot, it was good, and it was also homemade! The chicken fingers were made with tender chicken breasts, the onion rings with fresh breading, and the fries were amazing alone. I loved how thick the sizes of the fries were, and our basket was packed.
The price for the food wasn't too crazy, we got some beers to go along with our choices, and we were also very pleased with the service and flavor or Crown & Anchor. The smell of cigarettes didn't really bother us, the homey feel or the decor didn't bother us either, we were having a good time in between waiting for our drinks and food seeing all their decorations. We didn't try any other dishes since we weren't too hungry, but we did decide we'll be back to try their bangers and mash, and fried cod!
