Crown & Cushion

Spent Christmas Day here for a Christmas dinner with my mum. It was superb and we really had the best time. The quality of the food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Thank you for making the day so special.

Enjoyed an impromptu Monday evening meal out at the Crown & Cushion. Didn’t need to reserve a table, had the choice of main menu or a set menu. Friendly staff, great food and atmosphere. Plenty of parking.

Booked an 80th birthday meal for Dad, quite last minute for 24 people. From booking to the meal itself the service was excellent and the team were really accommodating and catered for all our requests. On entry we were shown to the private dining area. Nice sized room, table for 24 people and a separate lounge area, which we didn’t use in the end. We pre ordered 48 hours in advance, and paid a £10 per head deposit. We ate from the Sunday lunch menu. Really good choices, from the Sunday Roasts to Steak Pie and burgers, and vegetarian options. Food was great, quality and quantity, and we would say good value for money. Staff were really helpful, and really attentive. Vicky in particular made sure the afternoon went really smoothly. Would highly recommend the Crown and Cushion for Sunday lunch. Will definitely be visiting again.

We booked online and had a lovely meal with friends on Saturday evening. The staff were attentive and professional and our meals were delicious (the sour dough pizzas and the sea bass). Look forward to returning when we stay in the area again, thank you!

Came across this pub staff was friendly and very welcoming got a table straight away the roast was glorious Pork was lovely only downside was the gravy it was very watery

I called there on Sunday with my mum for lunch, she uses a wheelchair and the booking we made was last minute. Despite this we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good but what really stood out was the service, every single member of staff was excellent, friendly, helpful and attentive which helped make it the perfect relaxing place for Sunday lunch.

My wife and I made an impromptu booking for lunch. We have never visited the pub before. We were immediately struck by how welcoming and friendly the staff were. The food and service were excellent. We will definitely be returning

Everything was excellent. Food and beer was great. Wonderful Sunday roast and the best pint of landlord I've had! The staff were great, particularly kind to the children in our group

I loved the warm fire and top notch decor and cleanliness. We were early to meet local friends and had a drink in the bar while we waited. The staff were fabulous but the food was underwhelming. I had the chicken with a lemon cream sauce and what was supposed to be Dauphinoise potatoes along with kale/chard side veg that was ver undercook. This made it too chewy and inedible. Hubs had steak and ale pie that was okay.

The Pub is sat on a gorgeous country road, it was a sunny day so we were able to make the most from the outside beer garden. We were a large party but catered for well with an Easter egg hunt to keep the small children in our group entertained. The mains were tasty, I ordered the chicken roast - there was way too much chicken, half a chicken! but it was well cooked. The veg was good, especially the cauliflower cheese. Only let down was the roast potatoes which weren't very crispy. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was fab but others had the Brownie which didn't really taste of anything! I would give it a go again if I was in the area but won't be rushing back.
