Google
Amazing place! Not only do they have entire walls of tequila and scotch. Huge selection of gins. Tons of choices of wine and other alcohol. The service is excellent. Very helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Google
Very odd experience trying to buy a bottle of Amaro this morning. As soon as my fiancé and I walked in the store (roughly 11am) the employee working behind the counter ran up to the front of the store and demanded we leave. I asked if we walked in before open or something (I’m from Texas and not fully familiar with Indiana stage liquor laws), but was given no reason. The clerk just demanded that we leave the premises with no reason given. Honestly one of the strangest experiences I’ve ever had in a store in general, let alone a liquor store. Maybe they thought I was under 21, but in a man in my 30s with a beard…. I left as asked, but still extremely strange and off-putting.

Google
They had a decent selection of whiskeys! I went on a Thursday and was pleasantly surprised to see E.H. Taylor, Blanton's, etc. I ended up getting a Willett 8 year wheated bourbon.

Google
They always have a great selection and the staff makes good recommendations. They’re my go-to downtown.

Clean location and great selection! Staff are friendly. Keep up the great work.

Google
Would be 4 stars if they didn't always close early.

Google
I was able to find a bottle of bourbon that I couldn’t find up here in Michigan. Happy to have a bottle of Ben Holladay in my rotation thanks to the selection at Crown Liquors. Definitely a score in my opinion, especially during our anniversary trip to Indy. Very nice and helpful staff too, great shop in the area.

Google
I won't return. The two ladies working were playing Uno and just seemed to dislike their jobs. There are plenty of other places to go for my adult libations

Yelp
You will find Crown Liquor locations throughout the Indianapolis area, and this one situated in the downtown is convenient to many of the local higher end hotels. In my opinion, crown has a wide selection of quality, distilled spirits, at what I find to be reasonable prices. It is possible to find unique and interesting items at their stores. It is a chain, and they do have a robust searchable website presence. The staff are generally very helpful. So, if there is something in particular, you're looking for, and can't find it at a crown liquor location you're visiting just ask. Often the staff will be able to recommend another location and perhaps even be able to check with staff at that other location to see if the alternative store has what you're looking for.

Yelp
I've stopped in to Crown Liquors a couple of times now on visits to Indianapolis. This is a gem of a shop for just about all of your liquor and wine needs. Boasting a wide variety of liquors as you enter you're likely to find your libation of choice. Venture downstairs to brows an impressive selection of wine from all around the world. There are also more select offerings in a separate climate controlled wine cellar that offers some really, really strong temptations to open up your wallet. It's fun just to browse and contemplate your next splurge. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable throughout without a pressure to buy. The vibe is relaxed and low-key; no rushing here. On our last visit we were looking for a Priorat and were given a number of great suggestions. I haven't yet made use of the selection of the various bourbons, vodkas or other spirits yet, but it's coming. The shop also holds wine tastings, which I'm eager to try next time I'm in town. What's not to love? Very happy with our visits. Crown Liquors is a required stop whenever I'm in Indianapolis. Highly recommended.

Yelp
One of the best liquor stores in the City of Indianapolis when it comes to wine selection and pricing!! Located downtown Indy on the corner of Ohio and Delaware. Some wine upstairs but mostly beer (hot and cold) and spirits. I'm the DOWNSTAIRS GIRL! That's where the WINE IS!! stopped in for their Annual Holiday Sale but found gold in the CLEARANCE section!! Their selection of wine is incredible and there are usually tastings on Friday evenings. You can chose from wines in the hundreds or dollars(still less than some on sale at other locations) or wines as cheap as $6.00 per bottle. There's also a very impressive closeout section in the back, right-hand corner downstairs. The staff is a lot more friendlier and helpful than in the past, so maybe I will stop in more often. Watch out Kahn's, Crown Liquors is wearing the Crown!!!!!

Yelp
A great Bourbon and Whiskey selection coupled with a knowledgeable and helpful staff. The store is in a great location and has a classic upscale feel as soon as you walk in the door. They were able to provide the hard to find (Four Gate) as well as recommend some wonderful barrell picks. I bought the Elijah Craig. I will definitely return!

Yelp
I'm here on the website where I thought I was going to order some liquor, but there's no place on this page to order. I don't have transportation, so I rely on delivery. Apparently, not today.

Yelp
As a man with discerning taste, I refuse to waste my time with second-rate liquor stores. All too often, liquor stores cater to either the quick-stop crowd - or those looking for discount liquor. All of that is fine for college students looking for Skol vodka and Keystone Light, but for an adult looking for a more substantial evening of drinking, the status quo just won't cut it. So, when it comes to finding a fine liquor store in the city center, I turn to Crown Liquors. Located on Delaware Street, catty-corner from the City Market. It's the perfect location for Downtowners, or for those visiting the area. If you're visiting Crown Liquors in the evening, street parking is a breeze. There are also various parking lots around if you're parallel-parking challenged. Crown Liquors boasts a wide stock of anything alcohol-related. The shop is large and occupies two levels. The upper portion houses the brews, spirits, some wine, and all those fruity "Mike's Hard Lemonade" drinks that men don't buy for themselves. The downstairs portion is where the fine wines are kept. Once you make your way down the stairs, a knowledgeable staff member will greet you. The assistance is great, and if needed, you will be given a tour of the wine globe. Crown Liquors has a great selection of beers, ales, and ciders, many of which are from local breweries. If you're like me and enjoy fine European beers - the kind that have been enjoyed for hundreds of years, you'll be in good company. Crown Liquors also carries an array of ciders and meads. I enjoy Crown Liquors' selection of whiskeys. Scotch, bourbon, rye, Canadian, and Irish: they're all here. If you're looking for rarities, it's not entirely impossible to find some. As an added bonus, the store often has representatives from various companies, offering samples from their latest barrels. Crown Liquors: Yes.

Yelp
My favorite liquor store chain in town and my favorite location. The prices are reasonable and they have a great selection. If they don't have it, they can usually order it, no matter how random. All the employees really seem to love working here. The great thing about this location is the huge tasting table in the basement. They have weekly tastings and many other events and they are all planned very well.
google avatar

Chelsea S.

Yelp
My go-to liquor store downtown. SO much to chose from, great prices, friendly staff (shout out to Luke), and an amazing wine selection downstairs.

Yelp
Do you need a nice kick in your favorite "adult" beverage? Come to Crown liquors downtown location. My husband and I went for the 2nd annual Bourbon & Bubbles tasting event. The event had the best of both worlds! The event was located on the ground level (downstairs) of the store. Upon entering we were provided tickets and information about the drink selection. I was amazed by the massive selection of drinks. The space was a little small for the amount of people but everyone was friendly. I think the drinks helped! Also I appreciated that they provided snacks (tortilla chips and pretzels) and bottled water. My favorite drink was the Chook Sparkling Shiraz. The bottles during the event were 15% off sparkling wine & 10% off spirits. This was a great event and the Crown Liquors staff did a wonderful job! My suggestion is to sign up for their email listserv to find out about upcoming events.

Yelp
When it comes to your needs for beer in downtown Indy, Crown Liquors is the place to go. They stock a wide variety of beer here, including local breweries, and the liquor selection is plentiful. For wine aficionados, the basement is a real treat. Best of all is their tasting events. I've attend a couple in the past few months with friends and had the opportunity to try things I likely wouldn't otherwise.
google avatar

Shrelle T.

Yelp
They had a nice variety of liquid and good prices. We rented an Airbnb so we needed liquor on deck and it was the 4th of July weekend! They had different types of liquors and a very wide selection of alcohol and wine. If I'm ever in town SFSU I would visit this location.
google avatar

Lorynne K.

Yelp
Is this liquor store what every liquor store should strive to be? Yes! Absolutely! Crown is located downtown but it's not difficult to find a quick spot for parking while you run in. But watch out, with their huge selection, you might be I. Their store for longer than expected. Upstairs, downstairs, fridges full of booze...it's like an alcoholic playground! And their prices are good too! Their large Ciroc bottles are right around $50 and they have all the flavors...can't find those everywhere. Plus their selection of wine is incredible...cheap wine is a must when it comes to my budget wallet! Their staff is bubbly and even a bit quirky which makes for the perfect hilarious conversation every time you check out. I wish all liquor stores were like this one but then I would be going to meetings every week. So maybe it's good that there's only one top notch liquor store per city!!
google avatar

Tia C.

Yelp
One of the best liquor stores in Indy! You can't beat two floors of alcohol. On top of that, they regularly have tasting events. Last week I went to the bourbon/whisky tasting. Upon entering, I was given 8 tickets to sample different things. There were over 50 different types to sample! In addition, if you found a bottle you liked they offered an additional 10% off. The best part is the tickets were free!

Yelp
We will not patronize this location again. We came in after the Circle of Lights Celebration in a light hearted mood- stone cold sober. My parents and I waited for my boyfriend to make his purchase. As we stood off to the side, the cashier said if we were all together he needed to check ours ID's. Ok...he was pretty rude about it, but chalk it up to a hectic night? So we walk up and as we are taking out our ID's, it's taking my parents a minute and they are joking about him needing to check theirs as they are 52 and 60 year's old and CLEARLY not under the age of 21. He got increasingly ruder with his snide remarks. My dad tried joking with him saying "see all these grays? That's my ID" very CLEARLY being light hearted and not serious as he took out his ID. As the cashier continued to make passive aggressive and very rude comments, I had hit my limit of patience and as we walked away I said "wow- if this is how we will be treated for trying to be nice, we will not be coming back here". As we walked back to where we had been standing, I heard my boyfriend go "excuse me? What did you just say?" When we left, come to find out as my parents and I walked away for my boyfriend to finish his purchase, the cashier said "assholes" under his breath WHILE TAKING the money from my boyfriend. Also come to find out, the gentlemen behind my bf in line were overheard saying "didn't we say we were boycotting this place because of this guy?" Sounds like they had a similar exchange with him a little earlier. They were from out of town and this is now their impression of our city. I don't care if you've had a long night. I don't care if you're grumpy and not in the mood for jokes. As the employee TAKING our money as we are providing you with our business, how DARE you call us a derogatory name?! We weren't belligerent. We weren't ignoring your request for ID's. We simply came in and tried to be pleasant on a holiday weekend after a fun event. My biggest regret is that the didn't catch his name. It's a real shame because I think this is a very unique liquor store but his attitude was unacceptable and uncalled for and I have 0 interest supporting a business like that with so many other great options to choose from.
google avatar

Peter P.

Yelp
Finally! A downtown liquor store worth going to. No cheap 40s to be had here. Friday afternoons they have tastings in the basement. And every few months, they host a BIG tasting. My favorites are the bourbon tastings and the now-legendary scotch tastings. An added bonus: If they don't stock your favorite beverage, they will find it another one of their locations or they will special order it for you.

Yelp
I've had a bad experience here before and I haven't really been back since, but I stopped in the other day to grab beer before a party. The customer service has gotten better, and the beer selection isn't half bad. I was able to find what I was looking for, although it was a little difficult for someone to look in the beer coolers while people were walking by. The aisle needs to be just a tad bigger. Downstairs is a great wine selection. A friend of mine recommended two wines quite some time ago as his "go to" selections when going to a party, and I've been able to find both of them here every time I've looked for them. It's been a little over a year since I've spent some time exploring in the wine section, but I see a trip in the not too distant future to spend some time looking for one to try.

Yelp
Popped by here because I did not want to pay exorbitant hotel prices for a drink. Great selection...and very nice staff. Convenient to downtown hotels too. Prices were reasonable. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Yelp
Stopped here while visiting family in Indy, about the sixth place I stopped looking for Three Floyds Alpha King (fortunately they had one sixer left). The place is well laid out and spaceous; with several well stocked beer shelves and coolers. Fairly well laid out and easy to navigate. The downstairs has a very respectable wine selection. The staff seemed fairly knowledgeable and not overly pushy, but definately willing to talk beer when prompted. The selection was pretty good, not the best of the beer stores I visited while in Indy, but good none the less. Lots of local-ish beers ranging from Upland & Three Floyds to Two Brothers and Tyranena. Overall this was a nice store with a good selection, and centrally located.
google avatar

Yolanda M.

Yelp
I came here on Thursday for a wine tasting event. This was my second tasting event here. I love the set up with the large basement area where tastings are held. The staff during the tastings are knowledgeable and friendly. The liquor store has a great variety of both high and low end wines as well as other liquors.
google avatar

Clare L.

Yelp
The selection at this liquor store is one of the best I have seen in Indy and it gets even more points in my book because I can shop on my lunch breaks... ha. I've rarely been in here when a tasting hasn't been going on, and I've gotten to sample a variety of beers, wines, whiskeys, etc. Some of the time I've had to pretend I liked what I drank, other times not, and once I actually bought a new kind of beer because I liked the sample so much. The lower level is mostly wine, with refrigerated/craft beer and most liquors on the main floor. One thing I don't particularly like about this store is that most of the liquors are behind the counter. I really like perusing on my own, but any time you stop anywhere around the counter area to look at the selection, an employee asks you how they can help you, and most of the time they seem impatient when I say I'm just looking. I stopped in today and had 3 different employees ask if I needed help finding anything within a minute of setting foot in the door!! Now, some may appreciate this helpfulness, but for me personally, it's kind of a turnoff as I'd rather not feel rushed and browse in peace. I do think the prices are a little high compared to CVS or Targets in the area, but for convenience downtown, paying a little extra isn't always a terrible thing.
google avatar

Scotty Z.

Yelp
I'm into beer -- and usually opt for a finer brew. Crown has a *GREAT* beer selection -- both cold and not. There isn't much I can't find -- and on the off chance I can't, I seldom leave unsatisfied. Their staff is always pretty knowledgeable and helpful too! For you winos out there, the downtown Crown has a really great wine department and cellar. In fact -- their entire first floor is completely devoted to selling (and tasting) wine. There's no way you won't find something for your palette. Crown also does free tastings every Friday evening. Not sure of the times; check their site. Need a slightly stiffer beverage? No problem! Crown isn't short on the good stuff. In particular, bottoms up for their whiskey selection: specifically bourbons and single malts.
google avatar

Yelp
Did you know beer is delicious? This liquor store is like Times Square up in here -- beaming with neon and and glitz on the corner of Ohio & Delaware. Red Sky at Night is a Sailor's Delight and tonight this wanna-be sailor wants ale, fine ale. Corked, conditioned, and / or dandy Belgian yeast strains... let's go! Fancy that... an enormous selection of shelved fine ales on this night that I can only purchase un-chilled because of other errands. The first spot that I've seen Moylan's for sale. Pretty pleased about this... because I've been longing (yes... longing) for Nogata, CA Moylan's since I left the Bay Area. Speaking of which... the first place I've seen Russian River Ale this side of the Rockies. Wait a second... you're trying to sell me the Beatification Ale for $52!? I just had that bottle in SF, at a restaurant for $12. Now... take to account distribution costs and double the cost, fine, but not $52. One, giant, WTF? Service was excellent. Selection was grand -- cold or not. Also had a special Rauchbier bottled only 2 months ago that was able to make it to the shelf from Bamberg, DE. Beautiful downstairs wine cellar... Boxes on hand for large purchases. Fine, fine form.
google avatar

Kelly P.

Yelp
A convenient spot for good priced alcohol. The variety here is large and it had a giant downstairs. You can buy cheap liquor but also pricier alcohol if that's what you are looking for.
google avatar

Franklin D.

Yelp
Weak selection of ecigs. Just some generic brands in a couple sad dsiplay cases. But the beer selection is over nine hundred, so they've got that going on. If you can;t find a beer you like here, then... well I would question your dedication to beer. Swear to god I am going to camp out in the alley and wait for the three floyd's truck to come and then buy all the Zombie Dust IPA. Crown has a "1 six pack per customer" limit on Three Floyd's. Boo.
google avatar

Kim S.

Yelp
This location has a amazing wine selection in the lower level. Very knowledgeable staff in wine area. They have multi bottle discount options. Usually I can find parking in front in Ohio street to run in to store.
google avatar

Benjamin H.

Yelp
When this place opened I pretty much scoffed at the idea of patronizing. I had become pretty loyal to John's on Penn when looking for the fancy beer and I had no reason too stray. Until John's disappeared mysteriously one evening. Crown has an excellent selection of local/micros and the staff has been extremely friendly to me. The prices are a little higher than I prefer, but the convenience and cleanliness of the store make up for it. It also helps that my evening bus drops me off pretty much at their door step.
google avatar

Bobby N.

Yelp
Con: they close early....at least it seems early to me on Thursday nights. Pro: Mik Keller beer and lots of it. I know it is pricey but this man is really a genius when it comes to making beer. His beers always capture my imagination because this is a Belgium Brewer making American style craft beer. I do wish that he made more of a mass produced IPA but thankfully this store has lots of beer. Lots of local craft, lots of famous craft, unusual and rare beers too. And lots of Belgium beer. But watch your cart it is easy to overspend here. Oh yeah, many great wines downstairs and some really good spirits too. I have found Bullet and Redbreast here.
google avatar

Billy V.

Yelp
This liquor store in downtown Indy not only has a great selection of beer, but they also are competitive on price with any of the other stores in the greater Indy area. For those looking for unique beer; they have a solid selection of bombers and bottles as well as a large wall of coolers if you're looking for something ready to drink. My recent purchases include La Trappe Quadrupel and St. Bernardus ABT 12. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is that some of the staff are less than informed about their product or upcoming delivery schedules.
google avatar

Jason B.

Yelp
When you first walk in, you see a huge selection of beer and booze. You might then say to yourself "man, their wine selection is pretty small.....what? there's a lower floor with nothing BUT wine? Hot Digity!" This is one of a couple of liquor stores in Indy that if you can't find it here, you're probably not going to find it. Good selection, good prices, and they even have wine tasting events. It's an easy walk from anywhere downtown.
google avatar

Heather H.

Yelp
I was initially introduced to this liquor store when I rented the Chicken Limo for a bachelor party I was throwing and we ran out of booze mid-cluck. Though I did not go in on that occasion (and get out of the chicken limo?! are you kidding?!), I did appreciate its central downtown location. Last week I did finally go in for a charity fundraiser tasting. The tasting was fantastic, the staff helpful, and the store selection (at least of wine - I didn't look around upstairs very much), pretty darn excellent.
google avatar

Tina N.

Yelp
Whoa! That is all I have to say. Craft beer? Uh, yes please & plenty of it! I couldn't choose so I bought a few bottles. If that doesn't lure you in, maybe my next question will - - Do you LOVE wine? Yeah- I thought so, me too. Well hold on to your hats when you walk in - make a beeline to the stairs & there it is ... they have a whole basement full of it. A WHOLE BASEMENT dedicated to the yummy goodness. I cannot wait to return.
google avatar

Brittany L.

Yelp
Eh... They close at 10pm on weekdays, which is an HOUR later than the nearby Kahn's. They have an ok selection of beer and there is a basement too...so the shop isn't as small as you might think. A nice selection of Indiana and Indianapolis-area beers, as well as microbrews from other areas (although mostly the usual suspects...like the same 2 Smuttynose brews you see anywhere else outside of New England). Employees aren't as helpful as the Kahn's folks though: Girl on a cell phone, having a loud personal conversation, turns out to be an employee 20-something guy with a really BAD mustache, who doesn't know anything about the stock and also didn't ID me YES, they did have the Manischewitz I needed for a Thanksgivukkah recipe, and it was less than $6. The Kahn's has 2-3 FREE parking spots in the adjoining alley. This store does not have that luxury.
google avatar

Liz G.

Yelp
Holy liquor mecca, Batman! I'm not much of a beer drinker. When I DO drink beer I like them sour, fruity, and generally Belgian or Flemish. Much to my delight, Crown Liquors had a HUGE selection of sours, including large bottles of Rodenbach, which is my fave. I felt like a kid in a candy shop. TWO FLOORS. Don't come in here if you're in a hurry. I mean, do, because it's awesome, but be prepared to come back and wander (and spend some money). They also had an impressive selection of cider, both on the shelf AND in the fridge, including a local cider and mead selection. I love cider and was very, very happy with the choices. The prices were just a tiny bit higher than I'd have imagined (I thought things were cheaper in the Midwest?), but nothing outrageous. I didn't even have time to look at the wine, which was expansive. This is THE place to go if you're looking to try something new or pick a bottle based on the design on the label. The staff wasn't especially helpful-or unhelpful- they were just kind of there. If you're looking for booze in Indy, go here.
google avatar

Thom C.

Yelp
Crown Liquors are a great place to go for friendly staff. Prices are very reasonable and can be lower that grocery in some items. They have nice selections of wine and craft beers and of course bourbon. You want to join their newsletter to hear about specials and Tastings!
google avatar

Brian W.

Yelp
Meh. Average craft beer selection. I entered with high expectations only to be underwhelmed with the selection. As big as the store is (2 floors), their craft beer selection was pretty weak. To be honest, I was quite surprised at the lack of selection for Indiana beers. Stop for your standard wine and alcohol. Beer only if you have no other options.
google avatar

Jessie S.

Yelp
Here's the thing, this place is more than a downtown liquor store. It's like a little community of people who can intelligently speak about alcohol and appreciate their customers. This is evident by weekly Friday night tastings. I get to try new wines and beers from all over the world, and the staff is more than willing to explain the subtleties of each to me. And don't get me started on their special event tastings that happen every so often! I've been to free bourbon tastings, wine tastings - you name it! Definitely more than a place to run in, grab a case and leave. Shop, chat and sample - you'll be surprised.
google avatar

Katie B.

Yelp
A great addition to downtown! I've been there for several different tastings, which have all been fun. Their staff is helpful and friendly, and they have a good selection of beer.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
No place downtown will have everything, but Crown does a great job of ensuring solid choices on wine, beer and liquor. If you're looking for something specific, like with any store I'd recommend calling in advance or checking out their website where you can put an order in. Prices are solid, the free tastings are really great events, and it's my go to spot on the way to a party or anytime I'm looking to stock the bar.
google avatar

Matthew A.

Yelp
Good beer selection and local knowledge. I needed to use the restroom as it is not exactly convenient to get to the downtown area. I was told no because I'm not the one that has to clean up syringes. It was a strange response, but I informed him that I would not do heroin in his bathroom. His counter was that then everyone would want to go to the bathroom. What?
google avatar

Nicole K.

Yelp
The downtown location has a tremendous wine selection. Their weekly to special events are always fantastic. They are helpful and carry something for everyone price point.
google avatar

Lauren L.

Yelp
Incredible beer selection! Found a Saison Brett that is really hard to find at home in LA.

Tammy F.

Yelp
Great selection - terrible service. Came in to get rum for zombies and no one was particularly interested in making recommendations or finding the specialty ingredients we needed. But was conveniently located and we ultimately found everything.
google avatar

Danny B.

Yelp
I can't pretend to be a connoisseur of liquor stores, but I was impressed with the imported craft beer selection available here, specifically the Belgian styles. If you want to stick to local, or American microbrews they definitely have plenty of both. As usual, most of the fancier stuff isn't refrigerated. This store is listed among the best places to buy beer in Indianapolis and I can certainly see why. Also, convenient downtown location is a plus.
google avatar

Andrew D.

Yelp
As far as liquor stores go this place makes me a fan. Good craft beer selection, good amount of bombers. I think they usually have beer tasting on Friday afternoons. I'm not a big wine or liquor drinker, but from what I can tell they have a a lot of stuff. The location is pretty awesome also.

Annalise S.

Yelp
We're in our mid 30s and this place would sell us beer bc we both didn't have ID. Fine whatever... store policy, Indiana policy... which is it? Can we get the chips and 5 hour energy then? No? GFY
google avatar

MJ W.

Yelp
Nice place! The whole downstairs is dedicated to wine. The bourbon selection puts Vine and Table to shame. The miss a star due to the unavailability of parking.
google avatar

Celeste T.

Yelp
Pretty good liquor store, overall. Great wine selection, amazing number and variety of beers, but they didn't have Angostura Bitters! What's up with that? And when I asked, they seemed confused about where to find them and whether they'd ever have it back in stock.
google avatar

Rob C.

Yelp
Great selection of liquor, though it's more expensive than other places. There's also very little in the way of cheaper alcohol. But the staff is super friendly. I'd definitely go back to buy alcohol when I'm around there!
google avatar

Yelp
The first time I walked into Crown Liquors it had only begun business and was not especially promising (but it was year-end holidays and there was money to be made!). The store seemed half empty, was without many decorative details, and the salespeople were knowledgeable but a bit stiff. All that changed with time. Product filled out the space, thoughtfully arranged displays provided pleasant visuals, and the salespeople are now both knowledgeable and at ease. I find the prices to be better than many chain liquor stores and the selection better than grocery stores (and definitely better than hole-in-the-walls shops).
