Great experience at Crown Republic Gastropub! We had a concert at Taft Theater & wanted to try a new restaurant, and we were not disappointed. Service was great, food came out quick, hot & delicious! We got the broccoli as an appetizer, Mojitos to drink, I got the salmon, & my boyfriend got the pork chop which was HUGE! We got the apple cake & it was also warm & delicious. We will definitely be coming back

We came to Crown and loved everything! We were greeted and welcomed with great customer service and Hannah was a great server. We started with the garlic knots, meatballs with pasta on the side to start and then we all got either wings or burgers and sandwiches. I had a make a mule as a drink

Had brunch here this yesterday and it was excellent! Our server, Chuck, was great-professional yet friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Our meal was fantastic. Everything we ordered was delicious and perfectly seasoned. We split the cornmeal pancakes with berries. My husband loved his omelet and I had the belly buster sandwich, taking half home with me. My husband loved his Bloody Mary and my grapefruit mimosa was delicious. All in all, it was a great start to our Sunday. We were visiting from out of state but hope to return on our next trip to Cincinnati.

Google
This was my friends' and I's first time here today. We came for brunch using a reservation on OpenTable. The check in process was seemless and we were seated immediately. The food was spectacular. I got the burger with fries and the shoestring fries were unlike any I had ever had before. They were loaded with flavor and well seasoned. The burger was piled high with fresh toppings and double patties on a fresh baked bun. Beyond the food the drinks were awesome. Everything from the mimosa, to the bourbon espresso martini, and even the wine selection were delicious. Also, don't sleep on the French toast. A friend got it and it was ubforgettable. Overall, great job today and I will be coming back for dinner at some point.

Google
My first time here service is great. Food was good. It was a little bit pricey but overall great experience. Would recommend.

Google
The service here is excellent and the food was fantastic! Plenty of seating on the inside, but we chose to sit outside on their small patio area. We enjoyed the mimosa service and their take on a bloody mary. The wings and the burrata were delicious. I definitely recommend trying this place.

Google
This place can’t get any better! The chicken scallopini was amazing!! Everything tastes so fresh and melts in your mouth. The drinks are great as well. Service is great. No complaints. Would come back here without hesitation!

Google
This is by far one of the best places I’ve eaten. The food was beyond any expectations we had. Going in, I was a little doubtful: it does not look “fancy” and at five o’clock, there weren’t many people there. By six, it was starting to have a wait, and by the time we exited, it was packed and this was on a week night. The onion soup, crab cake, wedge salad and garlic “knots” were to die for! Our server (not sure of her name but she was awesome: had moved here from NYC) was so knowledgeable about the food and so friendly and helpful. And quick!!

Yelp
Had to slide in on a quality check & took besty for his birthday annnnnd Yummy per usual ... just a brief quality check cuz I was craving my fave breakfast burrito with the garlic aioli & breakfast potatoes!! Also tried the side of maple sausage and yumm yumm will be getting that also next time!! Love that they do the cookie for the birthday, my friend thought it was a nice touch with the candle !! The little things that go a long way !!

Yelp
My wife and I were in Cincinnati for a long weekend and we wanted brunch before the Reds game. We sat at the bar and I ordered an IPA from the super cool server and it was delicious. I ordered their Cuban to go with it and it came out pretty fast with a beautiful salad accompanying it. The bread was perfect and came out hot. There was lots of juicy pork and cheese and all the great Cuban stuff. A solid sandwich! The place is family owned and they have a nice bar and a few selections of great beer on draft. They have bottomless mimosas as well, if you order it with an entree. Cool decor and there was a large crowd inside. Definitely try this place out in Cincinnati!

Yelp
We decided at the last minute to go here and what a good choice The atmosphere is fun and Miles our server was very nice Now the food my hubby loved his spaghetti and meatballs I enjoyed the wedge salad and the cauliflower appetizer I took some home for the next day A great dinner

Yelp
Blueberry Smoked Wings & gnocchi was amazing. The gnocchi has a great spice to it with the red pepper and left nothing to be desired. If you pair them with the wings then you don't feel like you're missing out if a meat eater. I was very pleased with the portion of my meal. Stopped in for lunch on a Thursday at noon, I'd happily come back and try another dish. I wish I would have taken a picture of the wings, but they didn't last long enough for me to capture them.

Yelp
Enjoyed a glorious brunch at Crown Republic Gastropub one recent weekend. We found easy street parking and thanks to our reservation, we were seated quickly in this welcoming, light-filled restaurant. Our excellent server read my Sunday Funday vibe and recommended the very tasty Bourbon Espresso Martini, a twist on the classic that gets a little extra sweetness from the added Bourbon. I love a spicy breakfast and went with the Carnitas Hash, which features egg, pork, potatoes, onions and salsa. It brought a nice amount of heat and I loved it. Crown Republic Gastropub is now on our brunch rotation!

Yelp
I'm a big fan of the warm farro salad- it's hard to describe but every element of it is well thought out, from the sweet potato chips to the fennel to the sliced dates.. it all melts together so well- very eclectic choices that just work Everything's made on site- homemade pastas and desserts Great spot in Cincinnati! And we had fabulous service also

Yelp
It took a second for someone to come to our table but once she got there it was all up hill from there. I ordered the CRG sandwich Parmesan style. I assumed it would come like Parmesan garlic but it was with red sauce and provolone cheese. A very tasty sandwich! Got to try the crispy broccoli and that will definitely be a part of all my future meals. But the best part about Crown Republic isn't the great food or the great staff, it's definitely the $18 all you can drink mimosas!

Yelp
Five stars for amazing friendly servers! We were seated on the bar as the rest of the restaurant was reserved due to a show in the neighborhood. We absolutely loved the vibe of the place & the friendly servers. Food was pretty good as well. Very calorie dense, but great taste and ingredients were high quality. I'd highly recommend this place for a date night or an evening out with friends.

Yelp
Shout out to our waitress first - true professional and even sporting a crown tattoo supporting the restaurant. Personable with top notch suggestions and made us all feel at home. And the food is all made from scratch and you can taste it. Wish I could sample what I didn't have as it all was outstanding. Visiting my son and this is a must visit for every visit when we return!

Yelp
Had dinner at Crown Republic before a show at the Aronoff. Start to finish, solid meal. I ordered the burger with added bacon. I think the bacon was the highlight of it - super thick, really added good flavor and texture to an already delicious burger. The fries were excellent shoestring style fries. Here's my pro tip: get a side of the pickle aioli that is on the burger to dip your fries in. Delicious! Our service was excellent, overall ambience is pretty much what you see when you walk by. Mix of standard and high top tables. The one thing I will call out - the basic metal chairs that sit opposite the bench seating on the standard tables were not comfortable. I got used to it, but it was a distraction right from the start. Curious choice. We didn't really sample a variety of the menu. Some things that I would be interested in trying were the bread knots and the crab toast on the appetizer side. There were also some delicious sounding truffle mushrooms available as a side. I'll be back!

Yelp
Crown Republic will always have a special place in our hearts--it's actually one of the first spots we went to on our wedding night, so it'll forever be tied to that memory. The vibe here is classy but comfortable, super clean, and the staff is always on point--professional, friendly, and you can tell they care. We've been back multiple times since, and honestly, it never disappoints. The smoked wings, Amish chicken, crispy parm potatoes, and that queso fundido burrito? Absolute must-tries. Everything we've had has been top-notch every single visit. One thing we really love is the open-concept kitchen--you can actually see the crew working hard behind the scenes, which just makes you appreciate the food even more. This place is an easy 5/5 for us. Another gem in the city that we'll keep coming back to. Highly recommend checking it out!

Yelp
Decent food but it's definitely on the pricier side. Service was good and I liked the inside. There's plenty of windows and a good atmosphere.

Yelp
We came to Crown Republic after a day party based on a friend's recommendation and the promise of good wings. I'm so glad we listened. The food and service were both awesome! Even though we arrived close to closing, we never felt rushed and our server Allison (I hope I'm remembering that correctly, I had had a few drinks lol) was super sweet. The wings were definitely the star, but the cauliflower and Parmesan roasted potatoes were delicious. The only miss was the cocktail I ordered. I ordered the lavender rose mojito, but it really just tasted like limeade. I tasted my friend's expresso martini which was better. I'd def like to return to check out more of their food menu.

Yelp
Ordered: burger and spaghetti and meatball We were able to walk in and get a table on a Friday night without reservations. The large windows and high ceilings made the restaurant feel very open. The service was great the whole night. The portions were huge! The burger was a double patty on a brioche bun with plenty of fries! The pasta did not taste freshly made, but the meatball melted in your mouth!

Yelp

Yelp
After hearing friends speak highly about their brunch, I finally made it in and can confirm it is pretty good. Those cornmeal buttermilk pancakes with berries are so tasty with a perfect sweet-savory balance. The CRG omelet with maple sausage and quark cheese was a solid supporting act, though it could not compete with those pancakes. Service was attentive, but they completely missed acknowledging our celebration despite noting it on the reservation. A small oversight but left me wanting the extra touch you'd expect from a place as nice as this. Overall come hungry, order the pancakes, and bring some containers to take some home. Portion sizes are generous.
google avatar

Yelp
A star in the downtown area for an impeccable dining experience. The atmosphere is cozy and calm. The food is comforting like it's homemade, yet upscale at the same time and nothing like I could make at home. The food came out much quicker than I expected for a restaurant with such exquisite dishes (a big plus). Everything was absolutely delicious. Each ingredient clearly has a place and they've put thought into every dish. Favorites were the Bolognese Rotolo with a creamy ricotta and the Spinach Cavatelli. You also must get their famous "Mama's Chocolate Chip Cookie", or a whole tub of the dough, because it's just that good.
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite brunch spots in Cincinnati. The crispy potatoes are a must and the banana bread should not be overlooked. This is the perfect place for a girls day, especially if you're a bottomless mimosa fan
google avatar

Carol P.

Yelp
The French 75 cocktail great, the smoked wings appetizer very good, I got the mushroom with pasta excellent. Lots of mushrooms! My husband got the half chicken and loved his entree as well.

J K.

Yelp
After a day at the tennis tournament we decided to hit the bar at Crown Republic. The bartender was very helpful with the menu and we decided to get the smoky wings and the onion soup dumplings. Both were outstanding. The broth and dumplings were extremely flavorful. The blueberry bbq sauce went great with the Moroccan spiced wings. The Smore brownie sundae could feed 4 and the ice cream sandwiched in the middle with the toasted marshmallow was very tasty. The restaurant was bright open and had a fun vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
I went there this early afternoon to have a late brunch (lol). It's located near the court, so it feels quite safe to park nearby, and there are plenty of street parking spaces, not hard to find one. I ordered a CRG chicken sandwich. It tasted much better than I thought it would be! The chicken was not crispy but a little soft, so as the bread, while the combination of the two just created a nice balance. Their chips were "appropriately" thin and crunchy, which was my favorite texture. The dining environment was amazing. High ceilings, wide spaces, people were talking gently and enjoying their meals and time with others. The price was reasonable as well - about 20 bucks for a sandwich (and importantly, the dining experience), just alright.

Yelp
Great spot!!! Not pictured: kale & celery salad, garlic knots.. salad was huge & both were sooo good! Bf got the burger... the bacon was the best he's had (so he says). Martini was delicious! We will be back!

Yelp
Crown Republic is a busy brunch - dinner spot in Downtown that requires a reservation during peak hours. The service was friendly and gave us fantastic recommendations. The baked eggs were great and reminded me of a shakshouka on steroids - with a more garlicky and herbaceous flavor. The cornmeal pancakes were fantastic and were not grainy at all. The star of the show, however were the crispy parmesan potatoes. Perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, this dish served with a flavorful aioli is a must have. We look forward to coming back and seeing what else CRG has to offer!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Food was excellent and our waiter (Miles, great service!) was on top of all our questions. I'd avoid sitting on the back wall as it is LOUD, but the staff was quick to accommodate our request to move to another table. After the move, it was all smooth sailing. The everything Knots and butter were rich and flavorful, great start. My wife had the gnocchi, which were light and fluffy not heavy and stodgy like they can be. My daughter had the burger and it was the "best burger she ever had." She crushed the double decker burger like it was nothing. The shoestring style fries were well seasoned. I had the Milanese pork chop - super crispy, the plate was a tremendous amount of food, with a nice lightly dressed mixed green and onion salad, spaetzle and braised red cabbage. My only complaint is that the pork chop was smothered in the cabbage which took away from the crispiness. All in all a 5* night, we really enjoyed it.

Yelp
Love this place. Food is always great Didn't care for the hostess Megan too much. Nate was a great bartender. Roman seemed a little scattered. But maybe because it was a Saturday night. When I arrived, it was quite slow, but by the time I left, a nice crowd had arrived.
google avatar

Isaac S.

Yelp
Brunch is amazing, steak and eggs is an insanely generous amount of food. If you're hungry, that's the way to go. Recently went for dinner and had a great experience as well. Service was attentive and frequent. Great spot for a date night or even night out with a larger group of friends. We opted for the cauliflower appetizer which was crispy and delicious. Also had the burger and specialty pasta that night (lemon pasta with fried chicken breast), both of which came out fresh and hot. Definitely will return!

Yelp
Crown Republic is a trendy place to eat in downtown Cincinnati. This was our first visit and we are with a party of 5 and had a reservation. They must get a lot of phantom reservations because they charge $20 if you don't show. We were seated immediately and the interior is very open and inviting. It has very high ceilings and is surrounded by windows. We ordered drinks and appetizers, the burrata and the duck fat hummus. The hummus was very good. The burrata ingredients were good but there was too much tomato jam which overwhelmed the cheese. We didn't get served with enough bread or vegetables so we ordered more and it took so long to come out that they arrived with our mains, which was disappointing. Our waitress pointed out that the kitchen was run by a chef and everything is made in house made. This immediately set the bar high as not all restaurants can say this. I ordered the seared salmon and requested medium rare with crispy skin. Note that this is a super easy request that any chef can do. Regular cooks, maybe not. Chef, slam dunk. I don't know who cooked my salmon but it wasn't seared at all. It seemed oven baked. Second the skin was soft. Third it was cooked medium well. Three errors on a very easy dish. I told the waitress and she asked if I wanted it replaced. I declined as it was edible and everyone was already eating and I don't know how a second chance would fix this with so many errors the first time. My wife's $30 crab cake was a singular cake. She liked it overall and said the accoutrements on the plate were very good. My friend said his gnocchi was good but the spiciness dominated which was a bit of a let down because the underlying gnocchi was good. We gave the manager this feedback when she dropped by the table. They did remove the appetizer cost from the bill, which was a nice gesture. Normally a chef would come out when feedback is given, but not tonight. The manager apologized for our lack of enjoyment of the food verbally. We ordered a cookie ice cream sandwich and espresso for dessert. The dessert looked great but the cookie dough was refrigerated or thawed from frozen so had that grainy dry texture versus buttery creamy that you would expect with dough. The espresso was good but no sugar was offered. I've been to Waffle House dozens of times and they never forget to offer cream and sugar. In the end everyone in the party agreed that we wouldn't go back and further, which is why it's a 2, we would direct people not to go there is this was an option. My wife and I routinely eat at Arnold's Bar, which is about 100 ft from Crown Republic and the food there is much much better, and in fact there are many places downtown with much better food.
google avatar

Ellie S.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the food here is incredible. I got the baked eggs and a side of bacon. This bacon was INSANELY thick. I've never had anything like it. It was really tasty, and didn't seem super fatty. The baked eggs were delicious and full of flavor. This place was really loud, with lots of groups, so if you're looking for a place you can chat with one other person, it may not be the best vibe! Definitely seems fun for a big group.
google avatar

Patience S.

Yelp
The food was very good, if a bit precious. But the wait staff was deranged, checking in on us about once every 3 minutes when we had asked them to give us some time to 1) make a decision, 2) eat the food first, 3) decide on dessert, 4) eat the dessert. It was really weird having to shoo them off every other moment.
google avatar

Grace G.

Yelp
Highly recommend if you're looking for a spot that feels both elevated and inviting. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to! Amazing food
google avatar

Lenisha L.

Yelp
Came to Cinci for a brunch to celebrate a friend, our server was a little bit socially awkward and didn't really seem like he wanted to serve us. The restaurant itself was pretty cute with a a modern and boho theme going on. The bathrooms were a different and unique concept the washrooms were separate from the hand washing station which was in the general common area for all genders to use. We all started with mimosas which you could order a bottle for $18 (individually) knowing we would have a pretty full night we wanted to all order a bottle to share amongst two people per bottle but this came with an additional $7 charge! Not sure why a restaurant would advertise a bottle of champagne for $18 but charge $25 to share seems a little money hungry and irresponsible of the restaurant. They also made you order an entree in order to order a bottle. I ordered the queso chicken burrito with the potatoes. The burrito was about a 7/10 the chicken was flavorful...the potatoes were absolutely terrible no flavor just crispy potatoes with cheese that tasted like nothing. One of my friends ordered a burger and the bacon on there was so thick and looked so good so I ordered a side of that for $4...it almost taste like pork belly it was kind of good. Overall this is probably not a resturant I would go back to, the birthday girl enjoyed it which is all that really matters!
google avatar

Marie K.

Yelp
Crown Republic offers an extremely enjoyable dining experience. The staff is friendly, helpful, and prompt. The restaurant space is open, inviting, filled with natural light. Making reservations was easy online. My party ended up being four instead of three people, and the host accommodated the change without issue. I ordered baked eggs with a side salad instead of bread. It was really phenomenal. As someone who cannot eat bread, I appreciated the flexibility in being able to order the side salad instead. The kitchen makes a great effort to make sure every dish is beautiful. They are truly artists with both visual appeal and flavor composition. My only complaint would be that it is very loud inside. The music is loud, and there is no form of sound absorption. Other than that, it was quite lovely. Overall I am really impressed with Crown Republic, and I hope I can go back soon.
google avatar

Patrice B.

Yelp
Crown Republic never misses! I've been several times and they are always consistent with the service, temperature of food, and overall vibes! Yesterday's visit was special as we were celebrating my birthday with 11 guest. Nate was attentive, very personable and a gem of a server! He even put my cake in the fridge until we were ready for it. Thank you Nate!! Everyone loved their food and will definitely be back! If you're looking for a good brunch place, look no further!
google avatar

Anna Y.

Yelp
There was a handful of groups waiting outside of the restaurant at 11:00 for this place to open! We had a reservation for a bachelorette brunch- the food was insanely delicious. The restaurant has a cool vibe to it! I've only been here for dinner before/ but this brunch is going to bring me back now! The English muffin sandwich was to die for. And the crispy potato's!!

Yelp
Service and food are unbeatable. We ate here for a friends birthday and had such a pleasant experience. Must try!!!

Laurie R.

Yelp
Food was amazing. This was our first time in Cincinnati and our first meal out. The atmosphere was lively with an open style kitchen. We had the General Tso's cauliflower from the appetizer menu, the Lemon Chicken Scaloppine and the burger. Everything was excellent. The food was fresh and delivered promptly by our server, Drew. Drew was the perfect combination of attentive and knowledgeable. We hope he gets recognized for his hard work.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
Wow. Great experience at Crown Republic. We went on a Sunday afternoon. It's wasn't too busy and plenty of nearby free street parking. The service was friend knowledgeable. The atmosphere was modern and clean. We tried several starter's from wings to meatballs. All were delicious. I had the wedge salad with steak, and a Pinot Noir. I was very pleased with everything at Crown. A definite place to return to and I'd absolutely recommend it.
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
Crown Republic Gastropub has become one of my favorite places for brunch. The ambiance is nice. Great customer services and very welcoming. My favorite dish is the steak and eggs. A burst of flavor in every bite. I will always recommend my family, friends and colleagues to come here.

Laura H.

Yelp
What a gem! We enjoyed every dish from start to finish! Starters: everything knots (yum!), wings (delish), and broccoli (could've eaten our body weight in this dish alone) Mains: y'all, homemade pasta: spaghetti and losanti prime meatballs, pillowy gnocchi in a spicy red sauce topped with basil-whipped ricotta, and braised pork and spinach cavatelli. Perfection on a plate - all of them! Service: they accommodated our four-legged friend. All the waitstaff were super friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend! Ambiance: Sat outdoors (see rover, above); a narrow but charming spot buffered from the busy corner by full flower boxes.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
The chicken sandwich tasted like a frozen patty and the burger was the same. Disappointed. Good service and cool spot but food is not worth the price.
google avatar

Scott N.

Yelp
Outstanding in all areas!! Pretty sure we will be repeat customers! We tried General Tso's Cauliflower, which was out of this world delicious! It had a fantastic kick, but wasn't too hot. There was plenty for the four of us to easily share. The Duck Fat Hummus was yummy. This was a bit more difficult to share, meaning there wasn't quite enough to give everyone a good taste. That said, it was very flavorful and I'd order it again. It was Friday so the Pastrami & Frites were available. If you are here on a Friday or Saturday... just get it. Two deserts - the Rustic Apple Crostata was about the best thing I've ever eaten. The S'mores Brownie Sundae was good, no doubt, but it couldn't hold a candle to the apple dish. Our waitress was super attentive and kind. Overall, a top notch dining experience.

Lisa H.

Yelp
We arrived very early with a senior using a walker. Alex the GM, Angelica at the reservation stand and TJ our waiter were OUTSTANDING! They brought out a chair for her and sat us almost immediately though we were more than 30 minutes early! The also served us drinks "in shifts" as we all trickled in. It was lovely to have everyone help us!
google avatar

Carren A.

Yelp
Amazing food and restaurant. Everything is always so fresh and delicious! The knots and meatballs are great starters! The pasta is OUT OF THIS WORLD! The service is amazing every time and the atmosphere is fantastic! Cocktails are great and so are the beers they offer! Can't recommend this place enough! One of the best restaurants in the city!

Yelp
A friend and I decided to visit for Drinks and Food. Upon entering, there is a Hostess who was very nice. The restaurant was not crowded at all...about 50% capacity and they had everyone pretty much sat towards the front of the restaurant together (the restaurant is more rectangular shape - narrow and long/deep). We chose to sit at the Bar as opposed to the tables because the seats were cushioned at the bar only as far as we could tell. We had to wait for a few minutes to be served, which was okay. The Bartender offered recommendations when asked and served us decently. My friend started with the House Strawberry Mule and I ordered the Queen's Crown. Both were delicious and refreshing. We chose not to order appetizers. My friend ordered the Vodka Bolognese and I ordered the Mushroom Capellini. The meals came out to us in minutes. Both Entrees were flavorful, hot, and fresh. Not remarkable, but good. I will come to the restaurant again soon, but perhaps take a seat at one of the tables instead of the bar.

Yelp
Food was amazing! Server was super sweet and chatty. Food came out relatively quick. The ambiance was nice and i love the ambient choice of lighting. Makes it super cozy and romantic.

Yelp
Crown Republic Gastropub has delicious Italian style food. It is located in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio. I ordered online in advance because I was hungry and ready for good food. All the pastas here are homemade. I feasted on the bolognese and also ordered broccoli that was outstanding, served with some sort of delicious sauce. The restaurant was packed, so make a reservation for dine-in if you are not getting takeaway from here.
google avatar

Masen Y.

Yelp
Came in for lunch and got some of the best wings I've ever had in my life! The smoked wings with blueberry bbq and Parmesan dip were sensational. Between the sauces and the rub these perfectly cooked wings had deep layers of flavor and I highly recommend them to any wing lover. I also got one of their tasty chocolate chip cookies. The service was great and the interior had a no frills sleek and modern look. Great food.

Yelp
It is the best restaurant I've been to yet the pancakes are amazing an a big view of the city I definitely recommend going here

Yelp
We had 2 separate reservations at Crown Republic last night via Open Table to accommodate our group of 10. We found out last minute we needed room for one more and the restaurant was super accommodating since we called a few hours ahead. Service was a little slow after we got seated so it took awhile to get our drinks. However, we let our server know that we had theatre tickets and our food came out super quickly! I chose the lavender mint mojito to drink which was a very light and refreshing choice. The gnocchi was also delicious and a perfect portion for dinner without feeling totally stuffed with pasta.
