I was disappointed in the fact that when I arrived for our SWASFAA conference on Sunday that the guy at the check-in was more concerned about chatting on his phone than checking me in. I felt like I was interrupting his conversation, which seemed personal. In addition, it was too quiet to tell me that the room weren't ready. I explained that I was a member of the Executive Board for the Southwest Association of Financial Aid Administrators. |About two hours later, the Bell Captain, Eric was quite concerned about me not having a room, and address the issue with the young men at check-in and told them who I was and my purpose for being here. At thay point the guys at check-in found me a room, in addition realized that I was a IHG member. |Room 1313 was a disaster, as far as cleanliness. The room smelled like pure urine. Eric noticed that room was smelled of urine as well, and asked me if I satisfied. Being that I was concerned about Eric and his job checking in people, I told him I was try cleaning the room. After trying to clean the room I was not satisfied, and returned to the front desk to change rooms. The young man at the desk referred me to another room, 1435, I believe, which had its on issues with cleanliness, as it smelled musty, and the view was a half window due to the balcony rooftop. |Therefore, I felt I could tolerate and return to room 1313, but the smell of urine was worse. |This is when Joy intervened to make my stay more enjoyable because she noticed that would be at the Crown Plaza for 6 nights. Therefore later in the evening she made arrangements for me to say in room 405, because she insisted that I was satisfied customer. |I can't thank Joy enough for her outstanding customer serviI am grateful for the exceptional service provided, which significantly enhanced my stay. I was so impressed that I offered to purchase a meal, but she respectfully declined, stating she was simply fulfilling her professional duties.|I recognize the length of this report, but I am available to discuss my observations regarding room 1313 and the necessary improvements.
