It’s an older hotel but the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Everything worked except the shower faucet was a bit challenging to use. Would have liked a hotter shower but even at max it was not hot enough for people who like really hot showers. The shampoo/conditioner/shower dispenser did not work well. Would have rated it 5 star otherwise. Staff were all really great. You can even leave your luggage at the front on your day off checkout to continue exploring the city for the day.

I was disappointed in the fact that when I arrived for our SWASFAA conference on Sunday that the guy at the check-in was more concerned about chatting on his phone than checking me in. I felt like I was interrupting his conversation, which seemed personal. In addition, it was too quiet to tell me that the room weren't ready. I explained that I was a member of the Executive Board for the Southwest Association of Financial Aid Administrators. |About two hours later, the Bell Captain, Eric was quite concerned about me not having a room, and address the issue with the young men at check-in and told them who I was and my purpose for being here. At thay point the guys at check-in found me a room, in addition realized that I was a IHG member. |Room 1313 was a disaster, as far as cleanliness. The room smelled like pure urine. Eric noticed that room was smelled of urine as well, and asked me if I satisfied. Being that I was concerned about Eric and his job checking in people, I told him I was try cleaning the room. After trying to clean the room I was not satisfied, and returned to the front desk to change rooms. The young man at the desk referred me to another room, 1435, I believe, which had its on issues with cleanliness, as it smelled musty, and the view was a half window due to the balcony rooftop. |Therefore, I felt I could tolerate and return to room 1313, but the smell of urine was worse. |This is when Joy intervened to make my stay more enjoyable because she noticed that would be at the Crown Plaza for 6 nights. Therefore later in the evening she made arrangements for me to say in room 405, because she insisted that I was satisfied customer. |I can't thank Joy enough for her outstanding customer serviI am grateful for the exceptional service provided, which significantly enhanced my stay. I was so impressed that I offered to purchase a meal, but she respectfully declined, stating she was simply fulfilling her professional duties.|I recognize the length of this report, but I am available to discuss my observations regarding room 1313 and the necessary improvements. I previously requested that multiple staff members inspect the room due to its unsanitary condition and potential health code violations.|Joy, I commend your outstanding service.||Dwyane Gregory Smith||I was disappointed in the fact that when I arrived for our SWASFAA conference on Sunday that the guy at the check-in was more concerned about chatting on his phone than checking me in. We just got back from a weekend trip to New Orleans. I booked a room at The Astor Crowne Plaza and after booking started reading reviews. I became very nervous due to what some were saying. I was so nervous, I tried to cancel my reservation but couldn’t because it was not in the 72 hr window. We kept our plans and I’m glad we did! The hotel staff was very accommodating, the rooms were clean, and I felt very safe there! There was security outside 24 hrs a day and you had to use your room key card to get in the door at night. You also had to use your room key to activate the elevator. The maid service came and cleaned our room after our first night and restocked our towels. Everything in the room was in working order and we had everything we needed! A few downfalls… the air was set on 68 the first night and it was 75 in the room. I reported it the next morning and it was cool in our room when we got back in the room Saturday afternoon! The beds were a little firm for my liking, but we all had a great nights sleep! Outlets in the lamps were loose so we had to find and use wall outlets to charge our phones. The bathroom has no air vent so it can get steamy in there if you shut the door while showering. Overall it was a great experience and the location was perfect! Will stay again! For reference, we were in room 915 in the tower closest to the restaurant .

The building is historic but the rooms are lovely. They aren't top of the line but they were clean and functional. The bed was comfortable. One thing I will say is you are right in the middle of the action at the corner of canal st and bourbon St. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay and alot of street noise would annoy you I would stay somewhere else. We didn't mind the people and the music. The security that the hotel offers is great. After hours you need your room key to get into the hotel. And you need your room key at all times to get into the elevators. The staff was super friendly. We would stay here again!

Great location in the French quarter off canal and bourbon. Restaurants, bars, shopping and entertainment all within 10-15 max walk. Staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Room is okay, not the most comfortable bed, no microwave but there’s a mini fridge and I had a nice view of bourbon street. I’d stay here again due to location alone and I get a good rate on the room. Overall it’s a good stay if you’re not looking for bells and whistles, just a decent place to lay your head while you explore the city. Also have to mention, it’s a great option for anyone traveling solo. I felt very safe with limited access to guest floors and the hotel in the evenings.

I and my wedding party stayed at this Hotel 2 years ago and the Hotel was not only a beautiful and comfortable place to stay surrounded by the heart of everything but also had excellent customer service !! So I was in no way hesitant about booking it again for this past weekend for my husband’s Birthday . I booked a room for Saturday night but unfortunately my daughter had a medical emergency the night before that prevented us from traveling to New Orleans from Mississippi. When I contacted the hotel and informed them of my medical emergency they were very thoughtful and showed concern for my family . Not only was the customer service @ Astor Crown Plaza attentive to my concerns but the manager called Me personally|and addressed my concerns promptly. I appreciate it greatly and will be back for a stay The next time I’m in New Orleans !!

Honestly, this is sad that I have to write such a horrid review. My mother and my great aunt age 88, checked in at 4pm. Had to leave and come back because the room wasn't ready. When it was finally ready tge thermostat didn't work, it was extremely cold and dirty. They were changed 3 times to 3 different floors. They're mot attentive to African americans at all and you can tell that they're used to be very dismissive. While the bellhop was helping them to their rooms. The front desk manager interrupted him several times to tend to individuals of a different race in front of my mother and great aunt ( who had plenty to give and ready to tip) but if course they were not aware of this and it shouldn't have mattered. This place as a whole seems to be old, rundown, down trotted and mentally stuck. Its $24.95 per person for breakfast. For $200 night, you can stay somewhere else thats upgraded, breakfast included and be treated like a decent human being.

I recently stayed for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday over the weekend. After a long travel from Chicago, Carty was more than happy to check us in to our rooms. She did an amazing job of explaining all amenities as well as recommended some great places to eat or go. Carty definitely set the customer service bar high! Thank you. Kenneth and Jamal were also so kind to my friends/family and I. Made sure we had whatever we needed, answered our questions, and ensured we felt safe during our stay. Thank you! The rooms could be a bit more updated and A/C seemed to not go below a certain temperature. Overall, I enjoyed my stay. Location was excellent!! If I ever visit New Orleans again (which I will be) I will make sure to book here again. Thank you!
