Where To Watch Sports Outside In NYC

"In terms of your sports viewing, Aaron Judge hitting a bases-clearing triple or Jabrill Peppers blind-siding Dak are the heroes. But in the event that you want to know what it feels like to wear a cape, Croxley’s gives you the chance. Their “cry like a baby” wings are some of the spiciest we’ve ever had, and if you finish an order, you’ll feel an overwhelming sense of achievement and pain. If that (understandably) doesn’t appeal to you, order any of the other flavors - the wings themselves are excellent - and something from their huge draft beer list." - matt tervooren

What a nice bar this is. Some friends and I decided to try this place out and we were all impressed. The selection is excellent and the wings are absolutely delicious. I didn't drink to the point of any drunkenness, but let me tell you, these are the type of wings that I'd be wishing for when drunk. Staff are all super kind and their service is fast. Highly recommend.

Google
This place has the best boneless BBQ wings I've ever had in my life! I have been coming here for the past 6 years and these wings never miss! The servers are always pleasant and the food comes out SO fast! Nice bar atmosphere. Great drinks. A lot of TVs showing games. 10/10 would recommend this place.

Google
Ordered 16 wings bbq n mild andthey were great. Waitress was very nice and polite. The Irish nachos were the best ones from that croxleys location that the other ones that burn the fries and tasteless and the beers were good. 9/10

Google
Croxley’s used to the best sports bar in town, now it’s a mere dumpster fire. The waiter Byron was very slow and confused with everything from drinks to food to taking our order and the place wasn’t that crowded. Sweet kid, but needs more training of the menu and how to take care of guests in a timely manner. There was no excuse to be that slow on a quiet Saturday afternoon. I’ve been here before on football Sundays when the place is packed outside the door and I’ve received better service. Secondly, the food was pitiful. The French Dip Swiss had some foul odor/tasting cheese coated on top of some very very thin strips of meat that looked white and grey. I was okay with swapping that for another meal and that was the Sheppard’s Pie. The Sheppard’s Pie was very bland, flavorless, burnt on top and swimming in some vile gravy. It was highly unappetizing to look at it, let alone consume. The wings were overcooked and burnt to a crisp and the tacos were also flavorless. Four meals and they couldn’t get one of them right on a very slow day. On the flip side, the French Onion Soup and Onion Rings were barely above average, which brought my star rating up from a 1 to a 2. The young girl at the check in desk was glued to her phone from start to finish while we ate, while the kitchen kept putting bag after bag of to go orders behind her. These bags sat there for 30+ minutes with nobody coming to pick them up. When I went up to her to bring my concerns to the kitchen, since there wasn’t a manager in sight, she appeared very bothered and mumbled “I’ll let them know,” and went back to being glued to her phone. Not a very good look for what used to be a very fine and professional establishment. (This encounter alone me back to leaving 1 star rather than a generous 2 star review) Croxley’s used to be the best sports bar back in the day and the food was beyond stellar. Now, the food is inedible and the service is lackluster. Very disappointing. (Also, the waiter Byron said he would take off the French Dip & Swiss since I took two bites of it and was appalled, yet left it on the check and had to remind him to remove it)

Google
If you aren't going here for wings and beer you are missing out. A go to for Friday burger and beers. Service is always fast, clean and pleasant. Nice place for a quick bite with family. Love the PUB HOUSE style booths with plenty of TV screens playing all manner of sports. Parking is plenty across street. Been going here for years and finally left a review!!! 5 star all the way

Google
Loved the place! I got the mango habanero wings and they were delectable! Waitress was super nice! And great place to chill and eat with friends. By the way, the Islanders won. 😂

Google
I've been here a few times. Food is always good. Great beer selection if that's your thing. Staff is good too. If you want to go somewhere for sports this is your place.

Yelp
Love coming here for wings especially when it's cheaper on two days out of the week. The service is great & the ambiance is awesome. Definitely a local must try.

Yelp
Great place for a laid back night of incredible wings and cold beer. Their food is always worth the stop

Yelp
Food is really good. Service is excellent. The place is a little bit rundown, but we absolutely loved it. Can't wait to go back.

Yelp
I have been here so many times either with my friends or with my wife. This is a family friendly place. The ambiance is great, they keep the place clean. A very good joint to hang out and have some beer, wings, burgers, etc. They have a huge selection of beers from seasonal, craft, rarities, dark, wheat, Pilsner, light, amber lager, fruit beer, cider and a lot more. The staff has always been great, wait time for any orders are acceptable, food prices has gone up a bit, beer prices are fair, food taste is awesome. This is the home of "cry like a baby chicken wings", I tried it once, it was so spicy that I can just finish one chicken wing and then the rest of the night I have to keep chugging a beer to take the spicy taste off, ha ha ha. I highly recommend the place, but hey, everybody's taste is different.

Yelp
Been to Croxleys a bunch of times over the years. The food is consistent but the service is not. On 4/2/24, we had Allison and she was great. She was honest, friendly and attentive. We shared medium wings (well done with a puddle), nachos with chili and a blackened chicken quesadilla. All items were served hot and staggered as requested. The wings were meaty and the quesadilla was well stuffed. For some reason the soda is always flat tasting, fyi. Food 4 stars Service 5 stars Ambience 4 stars (bar atmosphere)

Carl C.

Yelp
The wings are tremendous. Hot and served quickly. A lot of TVs.. The atmosphere is fun and happy, We had a blast.

Yelp
This is a great place to chill with friends over dinner and drinks and food music. We went last Saturday night and the place was busy, but the service was attentive and friendly. Traditional pub fare is done very well here. My habanero mango wings were not as spicy hot as I was hoping, but they were cooked to crispy perfection and extra Tabasco did the trick without taking away from the great flavor of the sauce. The Cajun waffle fries were crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Hubby got fish and chips. He enjoyed the dish as a whole, but we were all a little surprised by the size of the fish. The three pieces of fish felt more like robust fish sticks vs nice size fillets we've had anywhere else, but they were delicious. Our friend had the huge plate of nachos and he loved them. The drink and beer selection here is massive and the prices, overall, were very good. I'm glad our friend suggested this place when we went down to visit him. We'll be back soon!

Yelp
Outstanding place Can't go wrong with wings and beers. Would recommend small gathering in back room

Yelp
Great place for wings and drinks. Large variety and the service is excellent. I go at least 1x week.

Yelp
On of my best decision to take out 40 wings and watch hockey at my home with my friends. It was non-expensive "decision", good food and quick service, authentic place, love it!
google avatar

Yelp
They have great deals. The food taste good the services is great and the ambience is perfect for a bar.
google avatar

Dominic W.

Yelp
Don't really see what the hype was all about. Service was good and the drinks were on point. We order three different flavors of wings on top of our regular orders and it was pretty disappointing. Size and texture was fine but all three lacked taste. We might give it another shot in a few weeks.

Yelp
Croxley's is a nice go-to when you're looking for good tap beers and a good old American food menu. Not a fancy place, but very quaint.

Yelp
Stopped for late dinner. Good to see they still have an overwhelming and impressive beer list. Hubby had turkey burger with cheddar/bacon but thought it was a little dry. I had a burger made of short ribs with a layer of Mac & Cheese in place of a slice of cheese. And it was a substantial burger! Just awesome: moist, cheesy, and great comfort food. Sorry, forgot to take photos. (Hey, we were hungry) Typical boisterous crowd that can get loud when busy. Very attentive server.

Yelp
Came to this location the other night and by 9:15pm ish the bar was completely full. Without much choice my friend and I asked for a booth and we were seated immediately in the front by the door. Not our ideal seats to go with however we sat and waited and waited and waited.. We got plenty of time to look over the menu, we didn't want to really get food immediately. Gratefully we ended up getting seats at the bar and quickly grabbed them. With the help of the floor server she was a really nice. The bartender that helped us was nice initially maybe not so much however over time she loosened up. The other girls on the far left of the bar forget about it they had weird vibes they didn't even look our way. Hospitality people!!! We ordered two patron shots A margarita that was okay however the ice load was crazy!!!!! My friend ordered a drink that she wasn't satisfied with and had it switched out without a problem. I then ordered a beer and my friend ordered a shot and another drink. For food we both got a beyond burger I got onion rings and my friend got fries. I told the bartender I don't eat meat so I was contemplating what I could order she told me most of the staff doesn't eat meat either and went to see if they had these burgers and we ordered right away when she said that they did. One thing I did notice is that they don't really have bar napkins I mean you putting my garnishes on a coaster that most likely will be used/has been used for glasses is not sanitary.

Yelp
Love this place fun and lots of food choices. Of course the wings are the best. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere.

Yelp
Croxleys is a great place to hangout, the food is delicious! But sadly there are no deals on their wings which used to attract many folks here before. I had the Shepard's Pie and I will say it is one of the best I've ever had.. order it, it's real good! I also got the boneless wings which were delicious as usual. I hope one day they will bring back the notorious wings special they once had so I can visit even more often!

Yelp
If you're looking for a great place for wings, beer, and any bar food really, this is the place to come! I have been dining at Croxley's for years and have loved every experience. My go-to order is their Buffalo Wings on the bone, medium, with an order of sweet potato fries. I have also tried other flavors such as the Mango Habañero (delish!), Korean BBQ(yum!) Italian Stallion (not my fave) and Garlic Parmesan(mmm). While the Italian Stallion is not my fave, I know it is a crowd pleaser for others. I have also tried their Philly Cheesesteak which was very good, as well as their Churro with ice cream dessert. I honestly have never been disappointed. And let me not forget to mention their beer selection!!! This place is worth checking out, and adding to your "regulars" honestly, because they are that good!

Yelp
Refused a service dog because the animal did not have a vest when documentation was shown which is also not required the manager forced us to leave - uneducated and rude. Discriminated against a veteran with a service dog. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) does not require emotional support animals (ESAs) or service animals to wear a special identification vest.

Yelp
The best Croxleys on Long Island! The staff is awesome, the food is great, always a great atmosphere! Love going here

Yelp
Dined in on a Wednesday night. It was poppppppin' as in mad people and they weren't seated six feet apart. I was fine with it but I was taken back for a minute so just a pointer for those out there. We ordered the mango habanero and the garlic parm wings, the chicken quesadilla, and the chicken cesar salad. The sauce for the wings were good, but the wings weren't al that flavorful. They were nice and crispy which I loved. The quesadilla was HUGE but the chicken was flavorless. Maybe it's the same chicken for the salad cus that was flavorless too. But overall, the food really wasn't bad. It was good. Typical bar foods!

Yelp
After giving it a break for few years, I returned to Crox's Franklin Square last week. When I used to pop in to this Crox more frequently a few years ago, it was almost always crowded, loud, and had a wait of anywhere from 1/2 hour on up on nights where they had their wing specials (20-25 cents, I believe). The wait in particular caused me and the crew to check out and ultimately frequent their Farmingdale location. There, it was less crowded, much larger inside, and had shorter waits most nights. On our recent trip to Franklin Square, we walked in to a near-empty venue at 9:30pm. Not sure if that was because the wing special was no longer available on Tuesdays or if it was because it was the day after Labor Day (or because of both) but it was a big departure from what we were used to. Their wing specials are now on MON & WED and are now up to 50 cents per wing. Talk about inflation! All that being said, here are my two cents on the latest visit: 1st and foremost, our server was terrific. She was friendly, smiled, made jokes, etc. She was timely in appearing to take our order and also to check up on us when it looked like we could use a refill or more food. And we also didn't have to chase her down to grab our bill at the end of the night. Our group of 5 noshed on their Supreme Nachos w. chili (very good!) and some wings (pretty good but I've had better here and at their Farmingdale and Brooklyn locations). And since it was Taco Tuesday, we each ordered 1 Braised Short Rib taco and 1 Pulled Pork taco apiece. On TUE, the tacos are $2 each with a minimum of 3 tacos. They were okay in my book - a little light on the actual meat and, thus, the flavor. Would I come back? Yes, if I don't want to jaunt out to Farmingdale and probably on a Wing Night. I did like the fact we had no wait to be seated on this night and that our server was great.

Yelp
I don't understand the negative reviews. I've been here on multiple occasions and recently during the pandemic as well. I sat outside and the staff was pleasant. We requested plastic utensils which were provided. The burgers here are delicious and the fries are my favorite !!! This is my go to spot when I'm in the area. A good amount of food is served as well! However I do miss the tuesday wing discount which is a bummer. I hope they bring that back soon because they'll see more of me if they do!

Yelp
Awesome food & drinks Great people & atmosphere Can't go wrong with a nice helping o wings .

Yelp
Good spot to causally meet up for wings burgers and brews. Nothing fancy. Jeans and T-shirts. Sweats too. Good wings. Waitress and bartenders are nice.
google avatar

Pat G.

Yelp
Prices are kinda high and buy backs aren't going to happen. But the foods good and consistent, the craft beers are on point, and they have a knack for hiring quality people. They're a great place for watching a game or a big ufc fight. The wings are pretty good.
google avatar

Krissia G.

Yelp
Great vibes, great drinks. Food was not bad either. Definitely loved the fried shrimp and their wings are very good! The fried calamari was ok, felt like it needed some more salt. Pumpkin beer was AMAZING. Got the Croxley's pumpkin beer. But other than that great service. Server was awesome and fun! Would recommend to anyone !
google avatar

Yelp
Good sports bar. Burgers are very tasty. Lots of TVs around to watch sport. Makes me think of my youth and old-time sports bars.
google avatar

Caitlin K.

Yelp
Listen to me and don't come here for the food. It's overpriced and tasteless. I can't believe I paid $17 for a salad with "marinated steak". I put that in quotes because it was totally tasteless, even after sending it back. My mom tried it and said she wouldn't feed it to her dog.

Laura G.

Yelp
Dry skirt steak, flavorless spinach dip ...and sweet potato fries Should have Gone with my first choice...elsewhere
google avatar

Irene C.

Yelp
This is the spot! I prefer this Croxley's vs Rockvilles any day. The atmosphere is always fun but calm. The food always hits right.
google avatar

Verneisha M.

Yelp
Great bar lots of TVs everywhere. Multiple games playing at a time so you not missing anything. The food looks great but let's see how it taste. The wings are being compared to anchor wings but you can be the judge of that. So far food is hitting salad is delish so I'm happy. The atmosphere seems very intimate and it's family oriented feel to it. If your ever in the area check them out!
google avatar

Michelle B.

Yelp
The best part about this place is the beer selection. I had an excellent coconut beer that was close to a stout. The selection here is great if you like beer. The food on the other hand isn't so great. It's a bar. A busy cool neighborhood bar that's surprisingly crowded and serves mediocre bar food. The service was also mediocre. We didn't get a friendly vibe at all and probably would never return. I gave 2 stars for the beer.

Patrick D.

Yelp
If I could give zero stars, I would have. I waited 50 minutes to get wings without any sauce, and wound up coagulating. Nice going
google avatar

Jonathan S.

Yelp
Service Is Okay. Quality Of Food Declined A lot. If Your Looking For A Great Atmosphere & Quality Wings To Watch Football Then Try The Other Croxley's Locations Because This One Really Sucked. Probably Won't Go Back.
google avatar

Nick C.

Yelp
After dropping some friends off at the airport, we returned home and realized that we had not eaten lunch. My friend suggested we stop at Croxley's for a burger. We entered the restaurant and were seated, drink orders taken and menus provided. My friend and I both wanted burgers so we got the burger platter. She ordered hers without cheese medium rare and I got mine with cheese medium well. Our food came our in a short period of time and our burgers were cooked appropriately and the fries were hot and delicious. Our waitress was accommodating and attentive and our meal was reasonably priced. I would recommend and return.
google avatar

Jason M.

Yelp
YES a must visit destination! I was in Franklin Square looking for a good place to have some lunch and came across Croxley's. From the outside you'd never know what a gem this place is. Sort of a sleeper that camoflauges itself with a "typical bar" exterior. When you get inside though, completely different story. From the English phone booth, to the seating and brit mop-top pop playing over the sound system, you feel like you escaped Long Island and were teleported to England. The staff was very welcoming, warm and provided great service with a smile. The wings, well simply some of the best I've ever had. Large legs and wings with great buffalo sauce flavor, and not too wet or over sauced either, just perfect. I had a fully loaded Croxly burger with sauteed onion, raw onion, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato and a pickle. It was simply delicious. Full flavor, cooked to perfection. My girlfriend had a grilled chicken sandwich with cheddar and mushroom. It was good, but missing something. Maybe some hot sauce? Subjective I know. In all I will be back! I highly recommend this spot for its great atmosphere, super nice staff and awesome food! Thanks Croxley's!
google avatar

Lina Michelle V.

Yelp
Best wings hands down! Yes, these wings are smaller than most places and yes their specials are pricier than most places but .40 cents a wing is still such a deal. The wings are cooked to perfection. They do charge an extra $2 for honey BBQ and they are soooo sooo good! We also ordered a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was perfect and the sweet potato fries were so crispy and not soggy like in most places. The service is ok, they did take a little longer than expected to bring the food out. However, the wings make up for the wait. Please note their is a $5 drink minimum in order to get the wing deal.

Yelp
Went here on March 14,2020 to dine for a friends bday. Location: It's on the corner we and there is a decent amount of street parking. Tip: You can park in the business across the street's parking lot(Texpak). When ive been here in the past they checked IDs. I don't know if I've aged rapidly or possibly they were just happy to have customers in light of the Covid scare but we walked right in and we're seated within two minutes. We sat in the booth right by the telephone booth with the ATM. It actually wasn't cold sitting in by the door which was a concern of mine. Food: We got a pitcher of Purple Haze. It was good. Then we got individual drinks- two black widows and a LI Iced Tea. No complaints at all- delicious! Nachos: I got them without beans- very good. Cheesier than I imagined. Not real cheese it's more so like velveeta or the type they sell in jars for tortilla chips. They also were not cheap with the jalapeños. Wings: The flavors selected were mango habanero and bbq. The wings went in a flash! Mac Daddy burger: It has Mac and cheese and is a derivative of short rib. This was really good. The Mac and cheese are shells (velveeta again!). Not too cheesy (probably used it on my nachos) but it was massive in size. The waitress gave us some Irish nachos because the kitchen got something wrong for another table. It was great because I had been wondering what they were like. I wouldn't recommend. It's a bit dry and you need to eat it fast before the cheese gets hard (not velveeta!) The kitchen/bar closed early that day. They made a snappy decision while we were there to close at 11pm. (No we weren't being rowdy!) Alas we didn't get to drink more or have dessert- so the bday celebration ended by midnight. Service: The waitress was a cute girl with amazing curls (the only non Caucasian working there that day) and was beyond friendly. She was super accommodating and checking with us an appropriate amount of times and wasn't annoying like some waitresses can be. (I used to be a cocktail waitress I can say that) She even gave us a buy back because of my husbands stupid large tip. Overall: I always enjoy myself here. The food was great as was the atmosphere. The jukebox was playing for everyone- from Journey to Biggie! I'll definitely come back once we aren't sequestered to our homes and social distancing is a bad memory!

Yelp
Wings are the bomb....... YOU MUST TRY.!!!! My husband and I ordered the mild wings with the bone and ranch dressing on the side. Just thinking about them makes my mouth watery. So freaking delicious. We also order the sweet potato fries It was ok nothing to brag about. We also got two pitchers of beer. I will come back for the wings. Yum yum

Patricio V.

Yelp
Great wings and good cold bear. Good place to catch up with an old friend . Bad food isn't bad but wings is their staple.

Yelp
I do love this place. The reason why I'm goving it 4 stars is because I actually had a bad experience a few years ago. I have been back for the first time in 2016 because of that bad experience. I'm so happy that I had a better experience this time around! So hapy that I came back 2 wks later with MORE friends! Made me forget about my worst experience there. So let's back track. My worst experience was in 2011. Got my usual. But for some reason some of the wings were rubbery and some were pink inside. I ate through them thinking it would only be some...but I ended up getting sick and threw it all up when i got home. I didnt go back until this year...i was sooooo happy! What we got the first visit: - Paulaner beer - nachos supreme - 20 BBQ wings with hot sauce on the side - fried cheesecake with vanilla icecream topped with caramel drizzle -molten lava cake Everything was super delicious and how I dreamt it would be! Our waitress was bombs. She was in charge of decorating the dessert that day...I think she was new. Lol. But she was awesome. 2nd visit we got: - piccadilly chili - with melted cheddar and scallions - 20 bbq wings with hot sauce on the side - croxley burger with string beans on the side - french fries - hoeegarden muscles with garlic broth. OMGGGG The 2nd visit topped my entire experience there. I was in heaven! Do try this place out. Place can get pretty loud because games are on. But hey, you're at a bar....

Andrew J.

Yelp
To start I ordered the Croxley's blonde. This is my go to for my diet when coming here. Always tastes the same and crisp till the last sip. I ordered the 20 none in hot wings, my girlfriend ordered 12 bone out BBQ wings. Fantastic food every time I come here. Always surpassing my expectations when I come here. Definitely come on down and grab some wings. Perfect space for a party or just to watch a game.
google avatar

Christina G.

Yelp
This is such an excellent place to watch any sports games with friends. They have so many different beer on tap and a delicious menu. I have been here many times and never disappointed. Today I had to have the pumpkin beer and it is absolutely delicious, of course I had to get it with the cinnamon sugar rim. For starter I had fried pickles and entreè I had the shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos are so so yummy and they have a kick to them. If you are looking for a sports bar with great food and amazing service I would definitely recommend coming here.

Mandee P.

Yelp
When I want wings, I go to Croxley's. Fact. My husband and I have been coming to this location for years. They have the best wings and wing deals. Plus the beer selection is unmatched. I always find a great delicious craft IPA. There are many deal times that are worth catching. You can get .30cent wings..steal! It really allows you to try all the favors they have. Last week I got the classic buffalo, Korean bbq, and honey bbq. The burgers are great too (their ugh I'm usually too busy stuffing my face with the wings when I come to Croxley's) and the potato skins are a MUST order. Come with an appetite! Come with friends! Come with kids. I see families here all the time...which is nice. One day when I have kids I know I can just drag them right along with me :)))
google avatar

Chef B.

Yelp
Decent service - delicious wings - I've tried several entrees- they have excellent ribs and the short rib is pretty good(you just have add some steak sauce and pepper).. this is a bar so I'm not expecting Michelin star meals - they have a ton of freezer type foods, like the popcorn shrimp, calamari, the veggies, so it's best to stick to the wings lol regardless it's always come in clutch when I get out of work n want to grab a quick drink w food
google avatar

Joseph T.

Yelp
Huge beer list as I've come to expect from Crowley. I think they had 40 or so beers on tap. Lots of IPAs, plenty of local options, and a bunch of other styles to fit whatever you're in the mood for. They've got TVs all around the place so you can catch pretty much any game. I had Brooklyn lager and then Troegs nugget nectar. They were having a special on wings but I passed on it since I was having dinner nearby.
google avatar

Patrick D.

Yelp
Great pub! Came in with a large group of friends and were very happy with everything. The one hang up was that they couldn't accommodate us all together or even split us between a couple of tables and split checks. We worked around it by taking up most of the back side and splitting up at tables of 2-6 each. The service was very good. The food was excellent. We had a couple apps at our table (nachos and buffalo cauliflower) along with burgers. All of the food was tasty. They have a HUGE draft selection and all of the beers we tried were amazing. Wonderful food and vibe; great beers. Great pub and tap room

Adrianna C.

Yelp
Excellent beer menu and, usually, good wings too. Tonight the wings were dry and overlooked and the service was super slow. But I guess you have to sacrifice a little for ten cent wings. We ordered the new flavors (fighting Irish, Korean BBQ, and Thai Peanut), which were thirty cents each...the sauces were all tasty but the wings were still dry and overcooked. I've also been to this Croxley's for brunch recently and it wasn't half bad for an inexpensive meal--although I thought that serving French fries with Eggs Benedict was just seemed like a weird combination. The omelets were good and the service was attentive.
