Where to Eat Along Virginia’s Scenic Skyline Drive | Eater DC

"This Crozet deli is perfect for a picnic haul, turning out playful sandwiches like the Pickle Rick (mortadella, pimento cheese, and pickle chips) and the Turkey Crunch (potato chips inside), plus a build-your-own option; note it’s closed Sunday and Monday." - Stephanie Ganz

Google
Sandwiches are top notch. Got the Philly, great bread, cooked but not hard and crunchy. Lots of meat. Eclectic interior but I could just hang at this low key spot for hours and watch sports drinking beers. Highly recommend if you’ve never been.

Google
I found this place today and so glad I did. I was so pleased to see they had Gluten free bread. My gluten free sandwich was delicious! I ordered the Hot Italian and it had a good amount of meat and the size was good-especially being gluten free! I also am very pleased when restaurants don’t charge extra for the GF option! I also ordered The Kitchen Sink to take home to my husband. He also enjoyed his sandwich! Was also happy to see that I got a dollar off each sandwich because I came during “happy hour.” We will be back!

We ordered 2 sandwiches and queso with chips to go. The sandwiches are very good and the bread is nice and soft. The queso is really good! I definitely recommend it and will order it again!

Absolutely love the new and upgraded Crozeli. Delicious, spot-on sandwiches, excellent meats on fresh breads with a pleasant atmosphere and kind staff. Highly recommended!

The subs there are on the expensive side but they’re usually really good. Got one today and it was terrible. It was soggy, cut wrong and full of lettuce. It was a steak sub but instead I got a lettuce sub. Won’t be going back.

Growing up on Long Island and loving a good deli sandwich. I was happy to find a local deli while visiting family. Really good, creative well made sandwiches. As a bonus it has an arcade in the back to freshen up your mortal combat skills while you wait for your food. Highly recommend!

My family of 3 all enjoyed our sandwiches from here. In fact, we wanted to grab some more sandwiches the next day to take with us to the polo game, but they unfortunately are closed on Sundays. Their bread tastes really fresh and the girl taking our order was very helpful. Highly recommend this place.

Google
A great addition to Crozet, especially given its central location. It’s a great place to grab lunch and do some shopping at the nearby stores. The staff was incredibly friendly, and the wait for food was minimal. The food itself was delightful; my son enjoyed a very cheesy grilled cheese that earned a thumbs up from him. I also loved my sandwich, which featured carefully selected ingredients chosen by the chef/owner. We will certainly be returning! Yummy!

Yelp
A friend and I were in Crozet this weekend and I wanted to grab something to eat before we headed back to Short Pump. This sandwich shop popped up in Yelp, so I decided to give it a try. It's located inside a building that appears to have been a school in the past. We got there in the middle of the afternoon, so there was no line. I opted for a cold Italian sandwich without mayo to go. The sandwich didn't take took long and when I opened it up in the car, my first reaction was that the bread was about twice the thickness of the filling. It was a good sized sandwich and tasted ok, but it was too bready for my liking.

Yelp
I will add as context to this review that I came into our sandwich order with some biases, namely for the style of sandwich common in the greater Philly-NYC food region. This is particularly true for the cheesesteak, which is what I ordered. When I picked it up, it seemed light, which I soon learned was due to a paucity (relative to my not insubstantial experience with Philly-style cheesesteaks) of meat in the sandwich. Consequently, the sandwich tasted rather bready. My wife ordered a hot Italian. This was a meatier (and thus more satisfying) sandwich, but still not ideal for several reasons. First, it was not hot. I mean this in two ways, both that the bread was not (or at least did not seem) toasted and that it was not very spicy. This latter observation relates to a second criticism that there did not seem to be cappicola on the sandwich, but in its place was some other meat that did not belong (maybe turkey, maybe honey ham). It's possible that my lackluster experience here was because we ordered the wrong things. Other reviews rave about other sandwiches we didn't order, and maybe those are better. I hope so.

Yelp
I came here with my friend for a quick lunch break. We ordered ahead for pick up which I highly recommend cause the place itself is tiny and the line gets really long. It's one of the little shops in the piedmont palace. I made my own sandwich with turkey, lettuce, tomato on ciabatta bread with a side of the tomato bisque. The tomato soup was delicious but the sandwich was okay. There's seating outside the shop where we eat at.

Yelp
What a gem! Incredible service and value! We have come several times in the past and ordered many items off of the menu. My children, my husband, and myself each have our favorite items. I love that there is a large selection of salads, sandwiches, appetizers, and snacks!

Yelp
The Chopped Mac sandwich instantly leaped onto the "best things I've ever put in my mouth" list from bite one. This sandwich was amazing, y'all. Like, "pick through the remnants of the wrapper to eat individual pieces of the toppings" good. All the intense flavor of a great burger, and yet ... somehow better? (The pretzel bun certainly helped.) My only complaints are 1) the sandwich is simply too powerful to be contained by conventional wrappers; the foil and wax paper in which mine had been wrapped were basically disintegrating by the time I got them home. Your sandwich packaging methods are inadequate, Crozeli! You are undone by your own excellence! 2. I'm going to have to come back here and eat more of these sandwiches, and that will help neither my wallet nor my overall health.

Yelp
Had family in town over the weekend and gave everyone the menu to select from. The Kitchen sink Turkey Crunch Reuben Chopped Hero Salad Kids grilled cheese And the Mediterranean Salad for me which turned out not so good because all the grape tomatoes were bad. Everyone else said theirs were good and large potions. $75 for carry out. It was our first time and will probably give them another try.

Yelp
Cute new deli in Crozet! Plenty of sandwich options, hot and cold, as well as a daily special. Service is very friendly and quick. Check them out!

Yelp
I'm not generally a fan of sandwiches. They are often dry and without enough defined taste. I wandered in to Crozeli recently and now I know that my previous opinion was because I never had a Crozeli sandwich! I ordered a Turkey Reubin, others in my group got Steak & Cheese, a Vegan wrap, and a grilled cheese for a child. All reported that they loved their choices, but I was amazed at how good my Reubin was. Warm, and delicious, I really enjoyed every bite. The service was friendly and without a long wait. I highly recommend this relatively new addition to affordable eating options in Crozet.

Yelp
Wonderful place to grab an amazing sandwhich, they now have a bar area as well. Really great service and the food is simply amazing.

Yelp
Best sammies in Crozet! We stopped in to Crozeli for lunch after strawberry picking at Chiles based on a recommendation from a foodie friend and it did not disappoint! We ordered the Cheesesteak, Turkey Reuben, and roast beef special (and a cookie!). They were all delicious and filling. I would totally recommend picking up lunch there on the way to any of the many local hikes, breweries, activities etc. I heard they also deliver. They have a cute kids "lunchable" option that has cheese, crackers, turkey, and a capri sun and airhead! Love it!!

Yelp
They are always so accommodating to dietary needs and making sure they get the order just right! Such a great addition to the Crozet community!
