Crumb Review - Islington - London - The Infatuation

"Just off Islington’s Camden Passage, Crumb is a sunny, yellow hatch selling mound-like vegan cookies. Yes, they have coffee too, but you should visit for the sweet treats. They’re thick but the cookies lean more crumbly than chewy, and ‘The OG’ milk chocolate chip tastes pretty identical to those Maryland cookies from Sainsbury’s—which we’re not mad about. They’re not our favourite cookies in London, but the brookie flavour is a tasty, brownie-like cookie that’s a great dessert option in the area. photo credit: Rianne Shlebak photo credit: Rianne Shlebak" - Rianne Shlebak

London’s New Restaurant Openings

"It feels like new cookie spots are opening left, right, and (Nutella-filled) centre. But we’re not complaining. The latest is Crumb, which is serving mound-shaped sweet treats in Islington, with things like brookies (brownie cookies) and monthly specials like almond croissant-flavoured cookies. " - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

NICE cookies!!!!! i love that you have the option to heat them up, which is what I would recommend. the staff are incredibly kind! additionally i am super happy the cookies are vegan but almond-free. i tried three of them so i will review them one by one: 1. Red Velvet (February 2025 special) i thought the texture was lovely, and the cream cheese filling absolutely delightful. the dough is soft, however i thought the red velvet flavour was too strong. i think you can taste the dye a bit too much, so it’s a little strange :/ 2. The O.G. this was my favourite, a proper chocolate chip cookie, with (what I think is) a hint of cinnamon, and a strong vanilla flavour. the chocolate melts perfectly and it’s a good ratio to the dough. scrumptious! 3. The Brookie i thought it had a great cocoa flavour, and the blondie part was yummy too, but i really wish there was more chocolate chips in it, as it is a little bit dry. but it’s a great cookie concept, might just need a little tweak. overall, the three cookies were tasty and had a fantastic texture, but the flavours might need better balancing some times. the only one I would really go back for is the O.G., plus maybe next month’s special!

Super cute little biscuits store or as I would call it, a cookie store. Super friendly employee, she's a keeper. As you can imagine there's no Wi-Fi there's no bathroom there's no nothing but really good expensive cookies but you know where that money went because they were pretty amazing. We got the red velvet and the brookie and can't be more satisfied. Keep up the good work

Delicious giant cookies. I tried the brookie and the pumpkin spice pecan and both went so well with a coffee. You'd never know they were gluten free. Would highly recommend. Also love the pop of yellow branding.

Honestly the best vegan cookie I had in London! 10/10 recommend.

Well let me start with the good, the cookie was delicious, I had the oatmeal and raisin one, I was worried that it would be sugar-laden like some other cookies I have tried, but it didn't have that gum receding sugar effect and instead had a lovely subtle cinnamon flavour and moist texture, and is a generous size. The place itself is a tiny shop with a serving hatch to the street, no inside space for customers, so I wonder how it will work in Winter? I guess my only disappointment was that I felt I was gate-crashing a private party with friends of the owner crowding around the serving hatch and kind of cutting into the service, I guess it was only their second day opening so hopefully won't be like that when I visit again.

By far the best, most delicious cookies I’ve ever tried. Generous in size and an incredible range of flavours. And they are vegan!! This shop is in a great location and it has the perfect selection of hot drinks to go alongside the cookie. Highly highly recommend

I found crumb on TikTok and as someone whose favourite sweet treat is a cookie I always go and try new spots. The hatch and location are lovely and staff were friendly. Sadly the cookies were not nice :( both me and my boyfriend only ate half of our ‘OG’ cookies and couldn’t do anymore. Had a very strong and powdery nutmeg dusting outside and it tasted overwhelmingly like an oatmeal cookies. The texture was strange and not like a usual cookie

I bought some cookies today and they tasted amazing. I’m glad I got the pumpkin spice before they ran out, but I’m absolutely gutted it’s only a monthly special. Nicole was an absolute sweetheart, I will definitely be coming back for more cookies!!
