The Best Bakeries in the East Bay | Eater SF

"Crumble & Whisk built its farmers market reputation on beautiful cheesecakes — conveniently made for sharing and personal sizes — and they’re good enough to warrant a trip to the new(ish) shop on MacArthur Boulevard. But there’s much more to explore than cheesecake, as good as it is, such as the brownies and cookies on offer. Maximize your flavors with a cheesecake sampler box, if you dare." - Dianne de Guzman

Amazing spot! I've been wanting to check this place out ever since it opened a few years ago in the Laurel District. The owner, Charles, is clearly passionate about baked goods. I tried the sweet potato pie (perfectly spiced and not too sweet), the seasonal carrot cake (amazing reimagining), and the breakfast sandwich (tender biscuit, loaded and satisfying). No photo of the pie since I devoured it too fast. I came back for the cheesecake, and it was perfection. Even if I'm remotely nearby, I'll make a stop. I love supporting this Black-owned businesses!

Google
I love having Crumble & Whisk in the neighborhood. The cheesecakes are so good and I love that you can get individual portions. They also have amazing sweet and savory danishes. I've had their croque monsieur sandwich with a side salad and it truly hit the spot for lunch. Highly recommend!

Google
Chill music greets you as you enter Crumble and Whisk. Clean surfaces and open floorspace. The owner is working most days and is a delight to talk to. I've been twice. And I will be back. And that's before you get to the Food. I've tried several items now and each is more delicious than the last. Mr. Farriér is a flavor genius. From a wild mushroom galette to stuffed croissants, and avocado toast with pickled radish on house-made thick toast. I haven't tasted something I didn't love. If I could give this extra stars I would.

Google
We ordered three cheesecakes for our wedding party. They were stunningly beautiful, and delicious to eat. All three flavors (NY, beet & berry, and vegan vanilla) were great and well received. Highly recommended!

Google
The cinnamon roll is hands down the best one I’ve ever had in my life. We also picked up amazing savory treats: pesto turkey croissants and chicken pot pies. I cannot wait to dig into more of Crumble and Whisk’s items. It’s a gem!

Finally stopped by to try out the bakery. It was fantastic. We got two pastries; one of which was a cherry hazelnut scone with a glaze. It was superb. Also grabbed a turkey croisant for later. It was delicious. So glad to have found them and I'll be back as soon as I can. Go try it!

Google
I purchased a slice of summer loaf on my last visit and was charged $8. I purchased the same slice about a week ago and was charged $6. I suspect this occurred at checkout because the owner did not pivot the screen on the second visit. I noticed I was prompted for a tip on my first visit which I bypassed because no service was provided. I simply purchased a slice on both occasions and left. I wish this business the best but will not be returning.

Google
YUM! Finally dropped by this morning to try their delicious goodies. Difficult to decide as everything looks amazing. Picked the pear & cheese danish, ham & cheese croissant, mushroom galette, coffee cake, quiche, and cinnamon roll. So happy this is in our neighborhood. Will definitely be back to try more!

Yelp
Great quality pasties and worth the price! I tried the pistachio croissant before (interesting flavor but huge and filling which i appreciated !) and then I tried the walnut scone with pistachio, raisins inside and orange glaze, OMG! $5 but so good and again; huge! you can't sit in, fyi.

Yelp
Even tho I was a little shocked by about a 3 inch cheese costs $12, I ended up spending the same amount for a big piece of brownie and a small chocolate pudding (I think the pudding is $7 and brownie $5). Surprisingly, the brownie was pre-wrapped and took out from the fridge. With 10 sec microwave each side of, it was moist & tasty with good chocolate bits in it. The coco pudding was yummy too. Def nice knowing you have a local bake/cheese cake shop within in walking distance but it's def for special occasion only.

Yelp
Wonderful experience every time. Today I ordered: Breakfast sandwich with ham: way more generous a portion than I could ever finish, perfectly cooked egg. The rosemary muffin is rustic, peppery, sweet, buttery. There is some kind of semi-spicy relish spread on the muffin. Expert level, absolutely delicious blend of flavors and very hardy. Pistachio crossiant: another very generous serving with a sweet, nutty and crunchy filling. The breading itself is not at all greasy or as buttery as some other crossiants, which is nice because the filling is decadent. Delicious. If these items were like 30% smaller I wouldn't hesitate to pay the same price I paid today for them.

Yelp
They're known for their cheesecakes. And I must say, the reputation is well deserved. Their cheesecakes taste amazing. I've brought this to several gatherings. Party guests always compliment this dessert. It's a must-try.

Yelp
Finally got to try Crumble & Whisk. A bakery across the street from the gym.. the diet is not safe!! The employee behind the counter was super sweet and answered all my questions about each pastry I pointed at. I wish the display case had labels. I felt like I was bothering her but thankfully she answered each question with a smile. She recommended the Butter Pecan Stuffed Croissant which was so good. I don't like plain croissants cause they're too bland and dry for me so I hope Crumble & Whisk comes out with other flavors in the future. I was craving peach cobbler and the peach cobbler shortbread was delicious. Sadly the cheese danish was sold out so I gotta come back next time.

Yelp
I came here with 2 other friends to catch up over some pastries. We came Saturday morning around 10:30 and it was pretty empty. Crumble and Whisk offers both breakfast and lunch (think sandwiches, salads, and pot pies), but we were here to try out their pastries. We shared a couple items: the pistachio croissant (seasonal, $7.50), the spice pumpkin loaf (seasonal), the fruit tart ($7), and the banana pudding. Everything was pretty good, with my favorite being the pistachio croissant. The pistachio filling inside was tasty! The fruit tart was okay but it should really be called a lemon tart. I also enjoyed the banana pudding but I did find it a bit on the sweet side. The space itself is small, with some limited bar seating on both sides and two small nooks in the corner for a small group like ours to sit and chat. Most of the customers who came in were just grabbing something to go, so we had the whole place to ourselves for the most part.

Yelp
The veggie pot pie is Take and bake, so you will need access to an oven because raw dough. Also doesn't come with salad even though the menu says it does. The egg toast is great, bread is toasted perfectly, enough to make the edge crackle but not so much to make it hard to eat with the egg on top. And the eggs are perfect curds, large, soft, pillowy... on the good edge of just done. The salad that comes with was lightly dressed and complemented the toast perfectly. The full order of roasted vegetable salad is large and full of greens - we got three good servings out of it . The dressing is tasty but the sauce container was half filled. I normally end up with leftover dressing but I used some greens to mop up the last drops. If you like a lot of dressing, maybe ask for extra? The mushroom galette was also good. Flakey crust, savory mushrooms. This was over a two visits. Still haven't had the famous cheesecake. Will try that next.

Yelp
Great local bakery with lots of goodies to indulge into. We got the mini lemon cheesecake and the cinnamon roll. We'll get to it tomorrow as we're beyond full from lunchie. After folks on NextDoor.com have been raving about Crumble & Whisk, we decided to stop by and give it a try for ourselves. We were greeted by the smiling Owner and he led us through all the goodies on hand, way too many to wrap our heads around. We'll be back for more soon.

Yelp
This is easily my top choice for sweet and savory if I'm jonesing for something special. Dont dismiss this place because of the prices - they are 100% worth it for what you get. I frequently come here for cheesecakes (lemon is one of the best), quiche (super hearty and umami), mushroom galette (perfect flakiness and mushroom goodness), vegan brownies, and the brioche bun (definitely must try). Yes it's a bit more expensive than what you'd typically see, but the size of each item and flavor packed into each bite should make it well worth it. Though i haven't tried their lunch and breakfast options, what I've seen come out of the back looks incredibly good and I definitely plan on coming back for them in the future. Also worth noting that the owner / staff are incredibly nice and try very hard to change up their selection in unique and interesting ways.

Yelp
The almond croissants were huge. They tasted so good and crispy. Also the quiche was big but flavor wasn't too tasty. Coffee cake was okay and scone was good. Cheese danish wasn't good and don't recommended. If you don't mind to pay higher prices pastries compared to other bakery. It was a small pastry shop run by local business owners. The reason I found this pastry shop was from Groupon. They no longer accepted Groupon so don't buy any more online.

Yelp
Went in for Juneteenth and picked up pastries and cheesecakes. Amazing service, answered the phone promptly in the morning too. The cornbread cookies were so good and such a hit! Would definitely recommend and will look out for at local farmers markets

Yelp
So I work next door and this Saturday I went to get me and my boss a breakfast sandwich... so the girl apparently waited 15 plus minutes to tell me they didn't have any biscuits and it would take 20 minutes so since I waited all this time why not ... so I come back in 25 minutes to be told they didn't have the protein we wanted ... so I just asked for my money back ... that's hella inconsiderate fuck them and they bitch asses

Yelp
Incredible!!!!!! Just finished the mushroom & potato galette....I would love another right now! So savory I'm salivating...the flavors and texture go together Perfectly. I also love the breakfast sandwich with bacon...it's the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and spicy... highly recommend! The service is excellent they are very friendly! They always cook my breakfast sandwich with an over easy egg...always cooked to perfection! Thank you!!! The ambiance is cute with photos of Chef Charles in creation mode. And I love the purple everywhere (I'm biased it's my fave color) Will def be returning often. Thank you!!!

Yelp
Incredible baked goods. Rolls, scones, quiche are all delicious I really miss the breakfast sandwich and the bread pudding but the cheesecake is also a winner!

Yelp
Thank you, Chef! For a tiny hole in the wall m, this bakery on MacArthur delivers a wallop! The turkey croissant was heavily layered with turkey and cheese. My banana cream "seasonal" coffee cake was such a surprise- creamy inside but still perfectly spiced and cakey. We couldn't resist the scone nor the potato gallatte.Needless to say, we will be back.

Yelp
Oh sooooooo good! Someone on Nextdoor had recommended their pies. I knew that they had online ordering, so I decided to order a chicken pot pie to pick up. I love pie, and I am a lousy, piecrust maker, so I'm always looking for that perfect pie crust. Crumble & Whisk hit it on the nose! I picked up the pie two days after I ordered it. I didn't know that they were already open and operating as a storefront so that was really great for my tastebuds (not so great on the wallet). They had miniature cheesecakes and other pastries for sale, so I had to try their coffee cake, a strawberry cheesecake, and a chocolate chip cookie. The first thing I noticed about the pie is that the box felt like it weighed about 20 pounds! It is a very generous pie! While it baked in the oven, sending a delectable scent throughout the house, I tried the coffee cake. It was really good; moist, mildly spiced, crumbly & just sweet enough! Later, I tried the chocolate chip cookie. It was loaded with chocolate and I believe some of the best butter was used in making that cookie. Makes my mouth water to think about it. Finally, my pie was ready. The puff pastry had risen and the dough had turned a beautiful shade of caramel. I could see the filling bubbling in the center. I dove in and cut a slice. Absolute heaven. I thought I was going to freeze part of the pie, but it was too good to risk the harm that the freezer might do so I basically had a lot of pie for a few days! Never got tired of the creamy goodness packed with chicken breast, peas, & carrots ensconced in the exquisite flakey, buttery pastry. I saved the mini cheesecake for the following day. It was no less impressive than the other pastries. The cheesecake was very light and flavorful. The crust was crunchy and a perfect companion to the creamy texture of the cheesecake. I cannot wait to go back. Check it out. You will not be disappointed. #blackowned

Yelp
The food is very good. I used to go there Monday morning to get the egg toast that came with a very nice salad before I headed to work. I've been trying to go back there for the last 2 months, and every time I go, it's close. The open hours are posted, but it's closed. I've tried almost every day of the week on different weeks, and it's always closed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE update your business hours. I don't live in the neighbor, and it's very frustrating to make a trip there, and it's closed. Tried calling the business, and it goes to voice mail. Today there's a sign posted outside the business saying they were closed on 6/26 but nothing about today. Also, the posted business hours on yelp and menu/ door is different. The service can also be very slow.

Yelp
I live the food at Crumble & Whisk! The sweets are unrivaled and my personal lunch - or dinner favorite is the quiche. Thick, moist and delicious, I've never had a bad piece. I highly recommend you try Crumble & Whisk.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious cheesecake. A local business started by a local guy. Run, don't walk, to get your next cheesecake. Vegan/GF options are amazing!!

Yelp
Charles Farriér - owner and head chef is a fantastic human who welcomes you with the biggest of heartfelt smiles and a loving energy that leaves you feeling part of a community. And also, the food. Infamous coffee cake! And fresh breakfast sandwiches! Oh and if you're interested in catering or hosting a party, they do that too. Come in for the atmosphere, leave with a full heart, and nourish your soul with some magical home cooked deliciousness.

Yelp
A friend of ours brought over a New York cheesecake from Crumble & Whisk and it was divine! Rich and creamy, it had a bit saltiness and just the right amount of sweetness. The abundance of strawberries on top was a nice complement. Was only going to take a bite or two, but it was so good, I finished my entire slice!

Yelp
I happen to be in the area of Lorral located in Oakland, Ca as I was having my vehicle in for a smog test at the nearby 76 petrol station. Anyways, I started walking up the street that looked to have some store front businesses where food might be as I was hungry. It wasn't quite yet lunch and there was not a whole lot yet available but I happen to stumble into a small but relaxed cafe style restaurant that was open and where the menu was light, pastry focused but had a small and mixed array of sandwich offerings and a few other lunch options. There was customers in the cafe who looked like they were waiting for food but no one up front at the register. That seemed a bit strange but I figured the worker must be in back where we can't see them making the food for the persons waiting and perhaps we're short staffed. All to common these days. Gentleman finally materialized, and he couldn't have had a more sunny or courteous disposition! Offered apologies for the delay and thanked us for our patience. Come to find out the guy didn't just work there but was the owner of what I believe was a fairly new business for him. There is a portrait of him as a pasty chef in a piece he did with a food magazine or critic in which offers an educational bio & the beginnings of the restaurant he decided to open, This restaurant, Crumble & Whisk, where I ordered a fresh Tuna sandwich with a house salad that in and of itself was packed with flavor! It contained an in-house pickle that was terrific, who knew such a thing was available? There were two big stars here, first one was the tuna sandwich,it was excellent, not too creamy and w/a hint of spice and other light tasty ingredients, I think I might add a bit more hot flake for an even bigger bite on the taste buds! The 2nd star was the restaurant owner himself, definitely personable, cares what he's serving, genuinely courteous and you feel like you're an appreciated guest as he talks to you like you've known him for years.. it's rare these days for this type of thing to occur in our large "one stop shop to get all things "world, it's nice to see there still is such a place still out there, even when you just happen to stumble upon it! Good service, relaxed atmosphere, good food, strongly recommended. With one friendly suggestion, don't let anyone get away by having them wait even a minute before they leave out of impatience, & before you got a chance to charm them with a good attitude and good food to seal their future return, all because you were genuinely busy trying to serve the customers waiting. Bring your food preparation area in view, so that person or yourself who's busy making his creations can acknowledge their customers presence and that buys you most of the time you'll ever need before you get to them. We all appreciate a hard worker, and one with a positive attitude like you have is icing on a pastry.. - a much better 1st impression then seeing no one at all for even a short time. A Good experience - Thanks! Manuel-

Yelp
Frozen. I ordered 2 mini cheese cakes via DoorDash and the listing did not mention "frozen" cheese cakes. We were not expecting this at all.. 3 stars for having nice packaging and what we skimmed off tasted ok. I would not have ordered these if I would have known they'd be frozen solid and dense like a hockey puck.

Yelp
Stopped by this morning for a quick post bike ride refueling...glad I did. Ordered a breakfast sandwich and it was just what I needed to carry on with the day. Egg had a perfect over easy consistency, the sausage was a nice savory turkey...not fatty. It is right across the street from Planet Fitness, so go get your work out in, and then get your grub on, or just stop by and support your local business...a nice selection of baked goods that looked great too. Thank Yous Crumble & Whisk...whole nuther level from a garbage McSumthin'... Peace.
google avatar

Brian L.

Yelp
These are, hands down the best cheesecakes I've ever tasted. They ain't cheap but well worth the splurge and drive. Everything I've tried here has been excellent, but the cheesecakes. Oooh.
google avatar

Cam M.

Yelp
This place is cute and the product is good. The prices weren't obviously stated, so needless to say I was shocked when I got a small cheesecake and pack of brownies and it was $26! I also tried to order on DD once and the order was immediately canceled on their end. I might just wait to buy next time I see them vending somewhere.
google avatar

Riley P.

Yelp
I really wanted to try this place and attempted to order on doordash. I guess I shouldn't have used doordash but when I saw them on doordash I assumed they were equipped to be on doordash. I was never able to get my breakfast sandwich or $13 cinnamon roll after two hours of waiting. I just really wanted to try them and am upset I couldn't. I think the employee tried to complete my order though but for some reason couldn't, after he told me over the phone it would just be a 20 minute wait. I'm not sure what happened but I'm pretty disappointed.
google avatar

Karen B.

Yelp
Earmarked this for my guys bday treat since cheesecake is is favorite. Had a little breakfast too which was tasty but would probably focus on the cheesecake and try other baked goods when we revisit. Chocolate marble was super light and airy. Nice tang with very subtle chocolate and espresso notes. Great crunchy chocolate blast from the crust!
google avatar

I F.

Yelp
I ordered online. I had ordered 3 mini cheesecakes: 1 strawberry, 1 chocolate, and 1 regular. I was delivered 2 chocolate and 1 regular. The strawberry is the main one I wanted to try, and I suspect they ran out b/c it is Valentines Day after all. But if that was the case, I wish someone would've given me a heads up instead just altering my order. The chocolate and the regular taste the same. The only difference is the crust. Also the packaging they arrived in weren't convenient for serving. I had to cut the boxes open to not damage the pastries. My delivery person said it smelled really good in the bakery, so I may check it out in person one day to try something else out, but probably won't order online again since I paid $36 for 3 pastries plus over $15 in delivery fees and tip for a not so great experience.

Haven S.

Yelp
Crumble & Whisk is by far the best place to order cheesecake from. Ordered the chocolate marble cheesecake for my boyfriend's birthday and it was AMAZING. :) Loved the decor the staff added on top as well. This place never disappoints! I will be back again soon!! :)
google avatar

Tina A.

Yelp
Not gonna lie, this place definitely has bomb cheesecakes. Here's my rankings from best to last favorite, all were great though! Strawberry fields - fragrant, light, airy but creamy. The strawberry was a bright flavor and the crust and cheesecake texture just pulled it all together Marble chocolate - deep rich chocolate flavor with the same airy consistency of he strawberry fields. Very good and is a close 2nd Peanut butter - a little hard like cheesecake factory cheesecake, but I'm not mad at the flavor, it was what it was for you PB lovers out there Overall definitely would order again, especially for small bday gathering

Yelp
Everything, every time -exceeds expectations. The salads and sandwiches are are unsung heros among so many sweet and savory pastry options. Haven't had a meh one yet. It's a great grab and go lunch option for us working from home. Or running around on the weekend. -They also offer seating at the location. Dinner parties or special occasions - bring literally anything and it's a hit. The oatmeal cookie sandwich is absolute perfection. The filling is sweet, fluffy and plentiful. Charles' cookies are 100 next level so it's a prefect treat. Handmade with love and beautiful ingredients. The service is amazing, it's clean and approachable and very consistently amazing. We are so lucky to have this establishment in Laurel. We deserve nice things like Crumble and Whisk! Please support this local business, you will be so grateful you did!

Yelp
Absolutely blown away. My friends have been raving about this place for months and I've also seen Crumble & Whisk all over the NextDoor App. So when I had the opportunity to try it today, I was more than amazed. Every single item looked incredible so it was hard to choose what to get! We ended up getting their Quiche with a side salad, kouign aman, and bread pudding with bourbon sauce. The owner was so nice to give an extra slice of quiche and it was absolutely incredible. The flavors were out of this world with the crust as well. The side salad is a must that compliments the quiche so well. My friend is not a fan of quiche and him recommending to get the quiche speaks volumes. The kouign aman was the perfect amount of sweetness and i love the toasted marshmallow added on top, surprisingly it wasn't overly too sweet which i LOVE. Lastly, the bread pudding. Can i just say the portion thats given for each dish is so generous! The bread pudding was my favorite with a crispy top and a soft middle that melts right into your mouth. The bourbon sauce is out of this world. I meant to save the bread pudding for home but it never made it back home... Much love to the owner, so humble and respectful. He took his time and was engaged with every customer making sure they enjoyed every moment at his shop. 10/10 experience. I'm a fan.

Yelp
The owner is there to help you and offer suggestions. Breakfast egg toast was bomb. Coffee cake was delicious.

Yelp
First and foremost the NY Cheesecake is singlehandedly the best most authentic pie I have ever tasted. I lived in Manhattan for 10 years and am a true foodie, nothing on the west coast can even touch what the folks at Crumble And Whisk are doing. Now let me tell you what happened tonight. I had a celebration with 9 hungry men in attendance, they were all expecting cheesecake. I ordered on uber eats and the platform totally screwed things up. To make things worse the bakery was closed. Uber was no help. In desparation I called the number on the website and the owner answered. I explained to him what had happened and he immediately got in his car and drove back to the kitchen and PERSONALLY delivered my pie. Within 30 minutes! The event was a resounding success. I am so impressed with this place I wish there was an option for a six star review.

Yelp
So good! Just perfect! We saw an article that Crumble was opening up a brick and mortar in Laurel. I remember seeing the tent at the Ferry Building Farmers market years ago and am so happy for the owner that business is thriving and growing. We ordered on door dash on a whim and all three flavors were so delicious we dug in before I could snap a pic. My favorite was the strawberry but honestly the beet/blueberry and New York were also great and not far behind. Smooth consistency and I loved the crust and fresh fruit toppings. The beet/blueberry had a delicious compote on top and just a hint of booze. The minis are big enough to share and nice to be able to try lots of flavors. We're excited to visit the new cafe in person and will be ordering again for sure.

Yelp
Super cute spot ! Everything I've tried so far has been yummy ! I'm in love with the carrot juice unexpectedly! Must try ! I also loved the stuffed croissant warm it up just alittle lol. Being served by the owner makes it an extra nice touch too he knows his stuff !

Yelp
Upon entering C&W, you are greeted with a lovely smile from the owner. This Sunday morning, I was blessed to try the breakfast sandwich which had bold rich flavors from the unique turkey patty to the homemade bun and sauce. It was a complex blend that I've never tasted before. This is definitely not your cookie cutter breakfast spot. I paired this with the beet salad which was a refreshing add to a delicious savory meal. I'm excited to try more from their menu. Peace!

Jennifer S.

Yelp
Bummer Their online site for pre ordering SUCK Heard such great things but no way to know as they don't have much in stock in person and couldn't get a full size New York - just plain cheese cake Presumably the most popular option Love to have tried Love supported a local business Made a long drive to be disappointed Will try again in the future But make customer interface MUCH easier please

Natally G.

Yelp
The Ultimate Breakfast Sandwich is sooooo good!! You absolutely have to get this sandwich. The staff was very friendly! The location is pretty small with a few seats so it's probably best to order takeout if you come with a group of people. It was very clean though and seems like they have pretty loyal customers who come for the cheesecakes and vegan options. I would absolutely come back.
google avatar

Brandon T.

Yelp
Good ambiance with great food options! There's a great chef with awesome food cooking up in here

Jack D.

Yelp
Crumble and Whisk is in the Laurel! Thought I would try the pattisseri next to Santanas finally. I bought a cheesecake to take home to my wife. Crumble and Whisk, of course, she said, everybody knows the best cheesecake in the Bay Area. And now they have a permanent shop in the Laurel. I tried a cheese danish and the next day a croissant unlike any other. Really good and original, very light, incredibly buttery and great taste. Charles is obviously a master pastry chef and now he's in the Laurel. It's going to take me a while to get through the menu, including pot pies and sandwiches. I think I'm up to the task.

Yelp
Crumble is a welcomed addition to the Laurel neighborhood. I visited for the first time today and was truly impressed by the delicious food and the friendly service of the owner. I ordered the quiche... uuummm, absolutely yummy, and the cheesecake is to die for! Thinking about returning tomorrow ;-)

Yelp
Being new to the area, I was in search of a favorite bakery to visit on the weekend. I found it here at Crumble and Whisk. Ironically, it is right across the street from my gym Planet Fitness! The turkey and gruyere stuffed croissant with green onion was perfection. The fig and orange scone was amazingly dense, moist and crumbly, one of the best scones I have had in my life. The owner was friendly and patient even though it got pretty busy. This is going to be a routine stop after my weekend workout!

Yelp
Had a party last Saturday and I was to bring peach cobbler and I can't cook Found Crumble &Whisk ,ordered 2 on line called for confirmation and he confirmed and emailed me (This needed to be ordered 3days in advance) called and was able to pick up a hour earlier .Let me say I only got one little piece, cuz everyone tore it up .Melted in our mouths crust was so good. Will definitely be ordering and trying the cheesecake, as others from the party will.Thank you so much!

Yelp
Wow I was super impressed with Crumble & Whisk's cheesecake! I had picked the large chocolate marble cheesecake ($60) with strawberries on top ($10) (for my future FIL's bday) and a mini vegan berry cheesecake ($12) (for my fiancé). They were a hit! Ordering was easy - I had emailed Charles and he confirmed my order, sent me an invoice and I paid online. You can schedule a pickup date/time M-F 10a-4p and they will have it ready at the wholesale baking site in Emeryville. Yes- it's ok to park in the lot where all of the food trucks, etc. are and just go through an open door on the large building, which will lead to the baking area. There were several chefs/bakers preparing delicious goodies- breads, cinnamon rolls, decorating cheesecakes- it was beautiful. The owner, Charles and another chef were putting the finishing touches on the cheesecake- it was simply gorgeous. The pics say it all. Charles and his team do an amazing job with presentation, creativity and taste. The cheesecake was super creamy, the crust was crispy and buttery, and you can taste the chocolate marbling in the vanilla cheesecake. Only recommendation I would say to the buyer is if you order a cheesecake with strawberries, make sure to eat it right away because the fruit can get a little lackluster a few days later. I had picked up on Friday for a Sunday event. Everyone was so full from lunch but still managed to get seconds. My future SIL complimented it as well and said she's usually picky with cheesecakes and really liked it. Go support your local cheesecake business and order yours today! I'd love to try the other flavors next time. Charles mentioned the Beet one is his favorite!

Yelp
This owner/baker l o v e s his work and puts his heart into his wares I stopped by, wanting to check out this new spot in the Laurel and took home a lemon currant scone and a savory galette(?) made with mushroom, bell pepper and onion that was out of this world. Seriously... best scone by far ever had and now I'm worried I have a savory galette addiction. Stop By Soon...I'll be back.

Yelp
Amazing to find an exquisite bakery so close to home-- the cheesecakes are the stars, so gorgeous and delicious. The pastry chef and owner is always creating delicious new pastries, and I also love the breakfast salad and the sandwiches.

Yelp
Wow, the N.Y. cheesecake is beautiful and big! No cracks on the top and topped with fresh fruit. Rich and decadent, fitting for a special occasion. Next cheesecake on the hit list to try is The Skinny...
