Crumby Sandwiches & Spirits - Review - Fremont - Seattle - The Infatuation

"Picture an elegant, plant-decorated dining room in Fremont, full of happy humans having a grand night on the town cradling cocktails made with ghost pepper-infused tequila. Charcuterie boards and burrata salads hit the table next. But then, instead of fork-and-knife entrees, imagine everyone eating… sandwiches. That’s the between-sliced-bread utopia that Crumby has manifested. From griddled toast stacked with buttery smoked gouda, prosciutto, slices of coppa and salami, pickles, and a fistful of pesto pasta salad, to a braised beef sub with rich pot roast personality, creamy dill crème fraîche, and pickled peppers, each sandwich is better than the sum of their parts—even though those parts are really damn good. Seattle was missing the kind of place where you could go on a romantic dinner date to sweep someone off their feet with a sandwich, and with Crumby, it’s officially here. photo credit: Nate Watters" - Aimee Rizzo

Great place for delicious, fresh meals. The sandwiches are delicious with fresh ingredients and well-balanced flavors. Open-faced sardine sandwich is amazing! Picked onions cut the fishy flavor and a refreshing touch. Mussels were delightful, with a zesty sauce and a chunk of french bread to help soak up the flavors. Octopus sandwich was also great, a special nod to the flavorful sauce. Definitely will be back. P.S. living moss on the walls is whimsical :)

Good vibes here. Went for lunch at 12pm on a Saturday. The atmosphere, the music and all the natural light is so refreshing. It wasn’t too busy but at 1pm it was really busy. We ordered the Salumi, the Pork and the burrata salad. The bread is perfectly toasted but oh so soft. Very unique flavor combos and it all works. I will say the burrata salad had no seasoning which was disappointing - just olive oil on the ingredients which was lackluster. For some reason we waited 35mins and then checked in with our server and our order never got put in. Very kind and genuine servers who took care of us and made sure we got our food. They also have a very cool menu of house made cocktails which look delish. One random thing is all I could think of is that the floor needed to be swept so badly….not crumby food but a very crumby floor. Would love to come back again for a date night or happy hour. Update: don’t come here hungry…we waited 55 minutes from order time until when the food arrived. We were told it would take 15mins but couldn’t believe how long it took and we were HUNGRY. We had to renew our parking because the wait was so long.

Grabbed lunch here with my wife and we were both blown away. We went a little overboard ordering because we showed up hungry and all the menu items are things we tend to love, but everything we got was consistently delicious. Throwing a couple cocktails in meant it wasn’t the cheapest lunch ever, but damn they were good- no regrets.

Absolutely delicious and while sandwich is in the name and their signature dish. I had a lot of beautiful dishes that weren’t directly sandwiches. To start the meal, ordered a charcuterie board with local meats and veggies. The toasted crostini points were fantastic. Then had the mussels which were also fresh and delicious. The bread was great to soak up all the delicious broth. A little spicy and full of depth of flavor without sacrificing the delicate taste of the mussels. Then had the octopus which was just on the brink of being over as some of the thinner portions were getting a bit overcooked but the main portions were still cooked just right and the grilled tasted with a salad substitute instead of bread was awesome! Great staff, quick service!

Love love love this hot new spot in Fremont! Everything from the service to the craft cocktails to amazing well curated sandwiches (and not sandwiches;-)), they know what they are doing! Wish I could go again tonight! This will definitely be on my regular rotation of dining out adventures!

Fantastic sandwich shop! I could rave about the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich for days. It was so massive I took the other half home and it was great for lunch the next day. My friend got the duck confit and it was also delicious. Their homemade potato chips were fantastic too - kinda wish there was a bit more though.

So happy this beautiful spot opened up in Fremont. The owner was very friendly and the dishes were all delightful. The steak tartare was amazing. Can’t wait to return ☺️ Update: I’ve returned at least three times since… still delicious 💕

The hours are very inconsistent. I've only been able to eat here once out of a handful of times stopping by during posted open hours. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, which was delicious! Definitely the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. I walked in and ordered to-go. Service was quick, although this seems to be variable based on other reviews. The lack of consistency here is really unfortunate. The vibe and food is top notch, but everything else really makes me avoid this place. Yet I want to love it! For the owners: It seems like you really pride yourself in being family owned, as you should, but you can't run a business in a saturated market with inconsistency. There are plenty of other family owned and run businesses that are still able to be consistent while keeping up with demand.
