20 Iconic Dishes That Define SF - San Francisco - The Infatuation

"Dutch crunch is hard to find anywhere else in the country, and even the state. But the crackly-topped loaf is a staple at every sandwich shop in the city, including our favorite classic deli, Lou’s Cafe. The Richmond counter uses a version that isn’t too hard while still retaining the signature, titular crunch. To go along with this glorious bread, go for the tuna melt or Roma’s Club." - julia chen 1, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong

I cannot say enough good things about this gym! It’s literally sparkling—clean, bright, and so well-maintained that it actually makes you want to show up and crush your workouts. The atmosphere is super welcoming, thanks to the amazing staff who always greet you with a smile and positive energy. One of the best parts is the large variety of equipment available. No matter what kind of workout you’re into—strength training, cardio, functional fitness—they’ve got you covered! A huge shoutout to the manager, Angela! She’s absolutely awesome! You can tell she works incredibly hard to keep everything running smoothly. From keeping the gym spotless to making sure the vibe stays upbeat, she makes this place feel more like a community than just a gym. Everyone here seems to genuinely love their job and their workouts, and it’s contagious! If you’re looking for a gym that’s clean, motivating, and full of great people, this is the one! Crunch has a good variety of group classes, as well as massage chairs, saunas, showers, a child care center, cycling room, HIT Zone, and a lot more. Highly recommend! 💪🏽

A lot can be said about what a manager is willing to do for you to make things right. Such was the case of my experience yesterday with this location. There was an issue that was out of my and Crunch's hands regarding a misinformed offer from my W+ membership. This ran for a few months causing a rocky-ish relationship between attendee and facility. I had planned anyways to spend time with Crunch Fitness as this location is near me by about 5 minutes of a drive. It is essential considering there aren't a lot of other gyms I feel are convenient near me and the apartment 'gym' has been pilfered by other tenants which means next to no good equipment to use. I won't go into the details of what was resolved between me and the manager to spare from any exploits. But I will say that I was treated fairly and respectfully. It is an encouragement to continue doing business with Crunch Fitness in the foreseeable future. The manager knows who she is and practiced her devotion and passion to not only run a good facility but to make sure things are done right between customer and management. Still can't thank you enough. Other than that, the facility is well-kept and clean (it's still fresh), the people are nice, they don't really get into your way, though it is optimal that if you're like me, is to come in during dead hours. Recommended.

I started at Urbandale and slowly stopped going because it was really, really dirty and the team that worked there didn’t really seem to care. Outside of the bathrooms always being gross, the sauna light would ALWAYS be off and it was locked all the time. I even asked the front desk for help, not for me but for other people who love to read in the sauna, and nothing was done. I also remember one time a lady who worked at Crunch was giving a free tshirt if I left a review and I said’” Will I get the shirt even if the review isn’t positive” she obviously said no, and I told her I couldn’t leave a positive review because I don’t feel that way about this gym. I never left a bad review either, but now I want to show people that there is difference between these two clubs in case they were thinking of leaving like I was. I am so glad I decided to try out the other Crunch in South Des Moines! It is a lot bigger and cleaner. On top of that, I always see someone cleaning. The chemicals to clean the machines are rarely empty which is something I would run into often at Urbandale. The staff are super friendly and helpful too! My only complaint is not about Crunch South, but the people who workout there that do not re-rack their weights lol. Whoever is running South Des Moine’s Crunch is doing a great job! Please keep it up. I also hope you get more money and you are blessed with great parking for the rest of your life.

Very nice space, lots of equipment. But if I hadn’t signed up for a year membership I probably would stop going, the front desk people are very fat phobic, as well as the personal trainers. I had told them I wasn’t interested in personal training 10+ times and he got his manager to try and talk me into purchasing it. No means no. They didn’t push this on my fit bf but seem to target bigger girls especially. Just my opinion from what I’ve experienced and what I’ve heard from other women. I’ll get through the year but then I’ll probably switch to somewhere else that is more inclusive.

Crunch is an excellent gym! They have so many things to do and everyone is so supportive; it’s a great community. There are young, old, just such a great diversity of people. The trainers I’ve met are so kind. I’ve been training with Jared and he has been amazing! He’s very motivating and encouraging and has helped me a lot with nutrition, as well. I’ve lost weight but what’s more is that I’m just feeling so much better. I’m actually excited to go to the gym! Crunch has a good variety of group classes, as well as massage chairs, saunas, showers, a child care center, cycling room, HIT Zone, and a lot more. I would highly recommend it!

I had been a longtime member for Planet Fitness gym and made the change when I was in prep for my bodybuilding competition. I couldn’t have been more pleased with my choice! Staff is incredibly friendly, wide range of equipment and weights, and lots of classes to sign up for. I would highly recommend!

This place is highly unprofessional! Extremely disappointed and felt unheard. Without going into it, my fiancé signed up for crunch at the time he was working in Iowa and signed up at that location online. Not once did he step foot into that location. Long story short he came home and works in Michigan now where he lived from the start. We were told we could send proof of residency in Michigan to be able to cancel the membership. We did not want to transfer to the Michigan location we wanted to cancel. I didn’t want to pay for something I never stepped place in or used. The lady on the phone was extremely disrespectful and just overall unpleasant to work or talk to. She explained the cancellation policies and we did exactly what she said just for her to say we need to transfer to the Michigan location. So, if you’re looking to go to crunch I would extremely discourage going to this location if by any chance you would want to cancel they are unwilling and charge you even though you never went once and live in a complete other state. Why would I pay for a membership somewhere I don’t even live or don’t want to ever be part of even in my home state. I simply wanted to cancel but instead I’m being transferred and have to wait to be transferred and then cancel and pay for something I didn’t even use once. RIDICULOUS!!!

This gym is so good and at a great price too! It was a bigger gym, so I thought it would be intimidating, but that’s not the case. This gym had a sauna, tanning, and massage chairs. All of this on top of the regular gym! They also offer classes for a higher monthly rate. However, my favorite part of this gym are the trainers! I have been training with Jared for 5 months. He has a great personality and is super fun to train with. He also doesn’t just care about your fitness, but you as a person. Every other train I have talked with has been super nice and supportive as well! If you’re looking for a new gym I highly recommend Crunch!!

Yelp
I think its really crappy that they block off an entrance to the place for people on the north side of them. They just lost my business and my referrals being a business that had their advertisements inside trying to promote them.
