One of the best poke places I have been to in New England so far including Boston. The Grilled Salmon is pretty high quality and tastes amazing; Tonkotsu ramen serves warm and so delicious; the passion fruit with coconut jelly is so nostalgic and authentic. I would come back for more if I have another visit to Portland!

We visited on a Saturday in mid-June 2025 for dinner. There was basically no parking. I dropped wife off and circled around and idled the car until she was ready for me to pick up. It was not super busy but there were other groups in there. I was driving so I was not able to get pictures of the food but my wife got some pics of the inside for me. We ordered: - Spicy Tuna Poke Bowl - Creamy Salmon Poke Bowl - Spicy Scallop Poke Bowl - Winter Melon with Coconut Jelly Boba Milk Tea Everyone said the poke bowls were amazing and they drank all the boba tea without even me getting 1 sip. I guess it was good. Overall the price was acceptable for what we got and we'd probably visit again if we were in town and wanted some poke.

Google
Staff were friendly and helpful. We tried two sushi burritos, the spicy scallop and spicy tuna. While they both were flavorful and delicious, I think it was not very filling and the concept is not very functional. As you eat the burrito, it is difficult to tear the seaweed with your bite and you ultimately squeeze out the contents of the burrito. The scallop had been cut in halves so there were significantly large pieces compared to the tuna. When I ate the scallop burrito, many large chunks fell out and it was unpleasant. Overall, the fish was very fresh and delicious so maybe opting for a poke bowl or other rolls would be a better option.

Google
Crunchy Poke is fantastic! Super fresh ingredients, generous portions, and flavorful customizable bowls. The salmon bowl with crunchy toppings is a standout. Quick service and a cozy vibe

Google
Crunchy Poke is the best poke place I have been to in New England so far including boston. The fish most importantly is high quality and tastes amazing; similar in quality to other poke places in Boston, but priced much better. The other ingredients are also very good and prepared properly. Typical of New England, there are also many extra options available that wouldn't usually be on authentic Hawaiian Poke, however, I do like the variety. (And if you want authentic you can choose not to add the extra items). Finally the price point is also good. Pictured is the regular sized poke bowl.

Google
The service was incredible, they are very hard working and want to make sure everyone is satisfied. I love the hustle! The ramen was good! I wish the noodles were thinner and next time I’ll add corn but the broth and the extra spice were delicious. So far, this is the best ramen in Portland I’ve tried. I’m on a mission to find out who makes the best but so far this is the top. I’ve tried 4 other places I won’t name. I have a few more to go but so far this is the best! No doubt I’ll be back!!

Google
We had lovely bowls. Mine was crab bowl and my husband’s was spicy tuna bowl. Loads of veggies. The crab bowl was supposed to be spicy but they toned it down at my request. Crab was tender and delicious. The spicy in the spicy tuna bowl was too spicy for my husband. In the winter, oftentimes smaller restaurants on Fore Street are cold (no double doors). It was very comfortable!! The decor was just okay. We clearly came for the food! Getting to the restaurant was treacherous. While the sidewalks belong to the City of Portland, business owners, including Crunchy Poke, should take responsibility for clearing a path in the snow before it becomes too packed down/icy.

Google
I work from home and get DoorDash from here occasionally. I love it. I super recommend the sesame dressing! I feel morally divided about eating all this fish, but for now, I have chosen this as one of the things I am not ready/willing to give up! Deilvery apps are a great option for this downtown restaurant becuase parking is a hassle and overpriced since the city gave up all the garages to private companies that charge $20 miniumum. Delivery apps are a great option for poke bowl restaurants in general, because there are a million choices and it is hard to remember what you selected last time, and the app remembers for you. Pros: Delicious, brown rice option, can mix two bases (brown rice and salad), can mix multiple proteins (hamachi and salmon). The avocado is always ripe. Cons: No marinated mushrooms, pineapple is sometimes not ripe and it is tempting to just pick it out and throw it away. When this happens on day that they are also out of mango, it is a big bummer! On the DoorDash apps there are a few bugs: you have to write in special instructions to get Hamachi on the build your own bowl, and you have to write in if you want Diet Coke.

Yelp
Great gem in Portland, ME! Love how you can build your own poké bowl to your liking. Very reasonable price with bowls starting at $16.50 with only $4 upcharges for extra or premium (lobster / scallops) proteins. Service was friendly and prompt for made to order bowls and drinks. The taro boba was tasty - just on the sweet side even asking for less sweet. That wouldn't stop me from getting it again though. The boba was bouncy and chewy without mush. Well done. Would recommend

Yelp
A bit of a unique ordering process -- it worked when I was one of the only ones in line, but I feel like it would get complicated when busy. the complaining stops there, however... The food was fresh, plentiful and the staff was friendly & smiling the whole time! I waited (maybe) eight or nine minutes, which I think was fair because I got the sense that they were busy with online orders ahead of me. I'm going to return here to enjoy a nice poke bowl for lunch in the future, for sure!
google avatar

Yelp
If you've already had your fill of traditional lobster meals and are craving something a little different, I'd highly recommend the Maine lobster poke. It's a refreshing take on lobster--tossed in a light Asian-inspired sauce that brings out the flavor without the heaviness of a lobster roll. The place is clean and simple, with impressively quick service. I didn't try the other poke bowls or ramen, but if the lobster poke is any indication, they're likely just as satisfying.

Yelp
Fresh, delicious ingredients, excellent ramen and Poké bowls in the heart of Portland's Old Port. We went for an early lunch, around 11:30, which I recommend, especially if you want to sit down because it's a small shop with just a few tables, and it becomes very busy during the lunch rush. There appeared to be quite a few regulars picking up takeout, as well as people looking to have a leisurely lunch. On this trip I had the Veggie Ramen and Thai Boba. The ramen was full of fresh ingredients and served hot, with the spice on the side. I've also ordered Poké bowls to go and taken them to the Eastern Prom in nice weather. Either way, whether eating in the shop, or taking it to go, the food and service at Crunchy Poké are great!

Yelp
When my fav poke place in the area is closed but I had a craving I came out of my way here. Lucky to find parking. Did a build my own bowl, single protein is about $16. I like that they have a lot of salad variety but the actual quantity placed in the bowl is maybe a tablespoon. I wish they tossed the salmon in a sauce instead of placing it on top and squirting the sauce over it, I found it just a smidge bland. Overall, not bad but not as great or convenient as the other place. If I'm in the area and it's a Sunday with a hankering, maybe.
google avatar

Danielle V.

Yelp
I had lunch here the other day for the first time and was very happy with my poke bowl. You can even pick from their opinions or build your own. They have lots of toppings and sauces and protein to pick from! I had the tuna and it was very fresh. Overall a decent spot if you are in the old port.
google avatar

Amy M.

Yelp
Not terrible, fish was fresh and sauces were okay. But they made me fill out a piece of paper just to get an order, even though they were standing right across from me. It was weird. It's also more expensive than Blue Fin, which has a lot more options and better food, period. Location and the lack of parking is annoying.

Yelp
I'm actually just finishing up a huge bowl of tonkatsu ramen with some taro boba. I'm of Cantonese descent and noticed other Asians eating in this small but attractive and well air conditioned establishment. Staff is friendly, service is fast. I ordered my dish spicy and it was the perfect balance of heat without being too hot. The hot oil dip is potent and again just the right amount of heat to flavor ratio. It's a large helping so there's value in the size if the helping. The roast pork slices are many and the perfect balance of fat to lean meat. The noodles are al dente and the flavor is to my liking. Overall great value, great taste and for a small mom & pop platform it checks off all the boxes.

Yelp
Fantastic options, great signature poké bowls, easy and simple ordering process, vegetarian options, and reasonable prices. We got the inari-based bowl with brown rice and it was flavorful, crunchy as promised, and generous with the amount of inari slices. Great!

David W.

Yelp
Outstanding Poké, super fresh ingredients, great service, quick and efficient. Excellent selection
google avatar

Liz N.

Yelp
Was really craving rice so I found crunchy poke in the old port. I decided to build my own bowl and I love how everything was included in 1 flat price! I got the salmon poke bowl and added seaweed salad, calamari salad and crab salad. I also included avocado, edamame, and mango. Everything was very fresh and tasted really good. I would highly recommend this poke joint if you're in the area! Employees were very nice as well!

Amelia T.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick dinner on our final night in Portland. We both got a build your own bowl, they were very good. We took them to the waterfront to enjoy the sunset. I appreciated that they give you unlimited mix ins.
google avatar

Yelp
Fast, good service, and the price is great for Portland. I made my own poké bowl for less than $20 with lots of different veggies, fruits, and other toppings. The house poké sauce is good but pretty dang spicy (I don't have a very high spice tolerance), so that could be helpful to know. The rice and tuna tasted good--no issues here. Definitely a good place to go if you want affordable poké in Portland, ME.

Yelp
I think if I won the lottery, the first thing I would do would be clone Crunchy Poke, implant it in my living room, and eat poke bowls for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I can't speak enough to the high quality, delicious, and fresh ingredients. This is key when eating poke (for obvious reasons), and has never been a concern of mine when I eat here (which is embarrassingly often). Their portions are extremely generous, especially given their SUPER fair prices, and the ability to (seemingly) include endless add-ons for no additional cost. My go to order? A build your own bowl with either salmon (for hot days) or unagi/eel (for colder days, as this fish is warmed up), with a base of white rice, avocado, green onion, red cabbage, red ginger, and any combo of their sauces (the House Poke Sauce, Japanese Mayo, or Unagi Sauce are personal faves). Try the Fried Garlic, Fried Onion, Furikake, Masago, and Tempura Crunch as yummy toppings. Crunchy Poke is family-owned and has super friendly staff, which is always a plus. Good for dine-in (an amazing option for a quick, hearty, healthy lunch!) or takeaway, Crunchy Poke is a MUST TRY for anyone craving poke. LOVE!

Yelp
Currently working in town and need my Boba fix occasionally. What a treat to find they serve them here, a walk down the street! Some hangers is clear as well as the sandwich board on the side wall Incase you are not looking up. Modest amount of seating and a table full of condiments for your culinary yumminess. Poke bowls abound as well as Sushi burritos. I'm here for a Taro Boba. I ordered and paid then waited. Two gentlemen at the service counter making the bowls in front of you! Two were being made as I waited. They looked delicious, mental note made. My boba was made in no time and I was on my way to walk about while enjoying on a hot and humid day. Will have to make a plan to try a bowl in the future!

Yelp
Ordered crunchy poke through DoorDash and their poke met my expectation. The bowl was filled to the top with spicy tuna and shrimp as well as all the other fixings I added. I created my own bowl and everything was right. The tuna was fresh. One of my favorite place to grab a poke for sure!
google avatar

Jina P.

Yelp
Service: You order from the front counter and get your own water. There are plenty of seating inside and they bring the food out to you. They were very kind and the service was great. Food: I ordered the tonkotsu ramen. It came with a small container of chili oil on the side. I added it all to the broth and it surprisingly gave the ramen the right amount of spice I was looking for. In addition, I loved the bok choy and they didn't skimp out on the meat. The broth itself wasn't too thick and had great flavor. Overall, I'd definitely recommend the ramen here.
google avatar

Yelp
I love poke and this place hits the spot when you're in town. Ingredients are yummy, place is cute, and staff is friendly. I usually get a build-your-own-bowl -- I only wish they would load it up a little more - sometimes it seems like they only give a pinch of certain toppings. Also the house sauce is good, but FYI it's spicy!

Marianna C.

Yelp
Tasty ramen and humble family run service. Food competes with fancier local hot spots, in my opinion.
google avatar

Megan W.

Yelp
I'll start by saying I'm not a raw food person but I'm married to a raw food person! I haven't eaten much poke before but this place was great. My partner did a Build A Bowl with creamy salmon and various fillers and toppings with the House Poke sauce. I did the Pork Belly bowl (I had a hard time figuring out from the menu what would come on this, so basically ordered blind and it was great!) Super clean and friendly place for both the most and the least Poke experienced folks!
google avatar

Winter B.

Yelp
Crunchy poke is a great poke bowl and ramen spot. You order from a paper slip and check off each ingredient you want. I liked that way if doing it since I could see all the toppings listed out. They are very generous with portion sizes and don't skimp on the fish like some poke places. My bowl was a little over 16 dollars but definitely worth it. Ingredients felt high quality and fresh. The employees are really nice. Limited indoor seating.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
This poke bowl was so delicious. There are a lot of toppings and it was tasty and did not have any bones in the salmon. I was full after eating this for lunch.
google avatar

Hannah R.

Yelp
I built my own poke bowl. It was 3.5/5 because of the portion size. The ingredients and everything together was tasty. However, I would've preferred more protein. My favorite topping was the tempura crunch that added a crunchy texture to the dish. The service and ambiance was standard. It was an average restaurant good for someone looking for a lunch spot with poke bowls!
google avatar

Rob M.

Yelp
Super lucky find . Fantastic ramen noodles loaded with meat , egg and fresh veggies . Super tasty broth served in a quaint little cafe setting
google avatar

Declan W.

Yelp
There's no claiming Crunchy Poke is anything but delicious. The dishes themselves are deceptively simple, but add a little of the house sauce and some sustainably harvested seafood, and now you've got a culinary masterpiece. The restaurant itself is small, no more than five tables, so getting your food to go might be a smarter option.

Brian V.

Yelp
2.5 stars. I ordered the house poke bowl, but I found it to be way too saucy. The flavors were overwhelmed by the excessive sauce, masking the taste of the fish and other ingredients. Not enough vegetables. Presentation was all a bit messy as well. The portion size was disappointingly small, especially considering the price. Given the overall mediocre experience, I found it to be overpriced for what I received. Also, my partner ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen bowl and found a piece of plastic (like from a wrapper of some sort) in it. Overall, Crunchy Poke did not meet the high standard set by its rating. I hope they can make improvements in the future.
google avatar

Christian T.

Yelp
Got 2 of their poke bowls! They were so good and so fresh! Service was fast and the place was very charming!
google avatar

David V.

Yelp
I love the food and service here! Everything is so fresh and you can craft your own poke bowl on a convenient sheet of paper. Fish are fresh, marinated and delicious! TIP: what i love here is that the avocado is complimentary! No additional charge for avocado?!? AMAZING!! The food here is delicious. If you come to Portland, you gotta give their poke a try
google avatar

Stephanie R.

Yelp
The ramen was delicious. I got it spicy and the spice had a little kick. The portion size is great and they are generous with the chasu.
google avatar

JEFF D.

Yelp
Food is spectacular here, fish is very fresh and flavorful! Wonderful presentation and accouterments! Service is excellent, friendly and knowledgeable. Nice quiet place to get your sushi fix!
google avatar

Gregory B.

Yelp
Amazing food great staff and I think it's 10 out of 10 for poke bowls. The place has comfortable seating.
google avatar

Edward W.

Yelp
I didn't expect to find delicious poke in Maine, but it makes sense since the seafood is so fresh here. I customized my own bowl and went with salmon and a bunch of different toppings (avocado, seaweed salad, edamame, red cabbage, mango, masago, crab salad, sesame seed). Yuzu ponzu sauce pairs really well, highly recommend it!

Caitlin C.

Yelp
Some of the best poke I've ever had. Vegetarian options available! So good! Stopped here on our way out of Portland - a must try if you are in the area!
google avatar

CJ J.

Yelp
Yummy fresh poke. DELICIOUS spicy ramen that I could eat forever. The pork belly is so tender and savory. Yummy
google avatar

Mike H.

Yelp
Stumbled onto this place last night after getting into Portland late. We were the last ones to order before they closed so I was a little concerned on what the quality would be. This place did not disappoint!! The Tonkotsu Ramen was amazing! I'd suggest getting the hot sauce on the side as it's an oil based chili that can be overwhelming. The Unagi Poke Bowl was on point! Generous piece of Eel and the assortment of veggies that accompanied the dish was a great touch. The Crunchy Salmon with the sweet corn was different but good! My son ended up opening the burrito and just eating the fish and avocado.
google avatar

Fiona K.

Yelp
Love this place! There are so many options to choose from when you build your own poke bowl. I like that you can pick noodles as a base along with rice. Everything was very fresh tasting and it was a great portion size. Definitely will come back here again!
google avatar

Eric O.

Yelp
Super fresh, great atmosphere for a quick lunch. The Ramen was outstanding and my wife's crab Sushi burrito was delicious. Excellent fast and clean food.
google avatar

Mary V.

Yelp
Not your grandmother's lobster roll, for sure -- but wow! This lobster burrito is stunningly delicious. Large yummy chunks of lobster, and lots of other sushi-roll type flavors, with rice in a seaweed roll. A little spicy -- just the right amount for me. Plus the generous stack of really fresh pickled ginger is a great palate cleanser. Don't pass this up!
google avatar

Olga S.

Yelp
Very delicious poke with so many different options at crazy low prices! The build your own bowl is only $12 and you can add as many toppings/bases/sides you want (including avocado) for no extra price. The only extra cost is extra protein. There was also this fantastic smelling ramen which I didn't order, but will next time. The fish in my poke was super fresh and the service was very fast!

Jiwheez R.

Yelp
We liked this place so much we ended up eating here three times. It's hard to eat out here without spending 75bucks. This is a great option and in a great area in Old Port.
google avatar

Sarah P.

Yelp
Holy heck, it is so good. I was a little not so excited about the $12 build your own bowl price tag, but it was amazing. I needed this today, so good. I hope they can stay open because the quality is wonderful. Perfection.

A T.

Yelp
This place was the highlight of our trip to Portland. We've had sushi all over the place and this was one of the best. We bought the spicy tuna burrito and it was perfection. So much fish and super fresh avocado and cucumber. The staff was nice. We will be back!
google avatar

D K.

Yelp
Great local spot--delicious poke' bowls and friendly service! Some of the best poke' bowls we've had! Quality ingredients. You can tell that the owners care. We got 4 build-your-own bowls. Not overly sauced. We we were all satisfied and the only problem was that we wanted more! Tip: if you're gonna build your own bowl, pick up an order sheet at the register and fill it out. They will make your bowl according to your order sheet.
google avatar

Gigi J.

Yelp
So I thought to myself that Poké was just Poké, well I was wrong! They used very high quality ingredients with everything from rice all the way to the seafood itself. I thoroughly enjoyed my bowl and will be going back!
google avatar

Colin T.

Yelp
Awesome to find a really delicious vegetarian option. Great service too. Will be back!
google avatar

Heidi M.

Yelp
A last minute find in search of a quick lunch and it was perfect! The House Burrito was the perfect amount and variety of sushi (salmon, tuna, spicy ahi tuna--custom). High quality sushi, clean indoor seating, and friendly staff. Will be coming back for another sushi burrito and to try the ramen!

Nina A.

Yelp
YUM. We were walking around downtown and wanted something quick to eat. We stopped in here and there was no line. It's quick order-at-the-counter service but the workers were friendly and we got our food pretty fast. I had the brown sugar milk tea and a build your own poke bowl with spicy ahi tuna. The drink was yummy and the bowl was great. Everything tasted really fresh. There's a good amount of seating inside and there's a little station with water and sauces/napkins/utensils set up for easy access to everything. I liked this place a lot :)

Anna S.

Yelp
The poke was good but definitely overpriced! Only 1 protein included in the build your own, usually it's 2-3 everywhere else we have been to. Confusing when ordering. Ordered 2 bowls and paid $45, ouch!
google avatar

Iris I.

Yelp
Cured my Ramen fix! I was not expecting to find any good ramen/poke in Maine and was pleasantly surprised! The portion for the veggie ramen was big! But I cannot say the same for the lobster poke my boyfriend ordered. We felt as if, for the price, the portion of lobster was very minimal. Regardless, we would definitely recommend if you're in Maine!
