East Bay Bar Crush’d Readies for Opening With 24 Wines on Tap | Eater SF

"Located at 312 Railroad Way in Danville, Crush’d Wine Bar + Kitchen is the newest venture from chef Francis Hogan (of Pleasanton’s Sabio on Main) debuting on Friday, August 16; the spot leans into a 24-wine-on-tap program for sustainability rather than trendiness, with Hogan noting that each keg replaces roughly 25 bottles and eliminates much of the packaging waste (corks, capsules, labels, wires). The opening list will showcase wines such as a pinot noir from Belle Glos, a cabernet franc from Steven Kent, a rosé from Las Positas, and a garnacha from Epoch Estate Wines, and Hogan emphasizes giving those wines the proper temperature and treatment the keg system can provide. The seasonal, “elevated but not pretentious” food menu is designed to complement the wine and includes a grilled cheese tartine made with a blend of three local cheeses on croissant bread from Firebrand Bakery topped with black truffle honey, in-house pretzel knots with a rotating cheese fondue, a Hokkaido scallop crudo with cucumber and gremolata, and a charcuterie and cheese station at the end of the bar where a hand-cranked red Berkel flywheel slicer is used for artisan boards; there are also caviar and tinned-fish options. Drinks include seven cocktails focused on boutique spirits and seasonal ingredients (notably the Blueberry Bliss Smash, made with blueberries from Triple Delight preserved and infused into vodka plus Triple Sec, simple syrup, and lime), nonalcoholic cocktails, and a handful of beers. A retail shop will sell boutique producers’ tinned fish, caviar, olive oils, vinegars, and more, with plans to eventually offer charcuterie and cheese platters to go, reflecting the team’s goal to be a regular neighborhood destination open daily 11 a.m. to 10 p.m." - Dianne de Guzman

Atmosphere was nice, service was good. They paid attention to our table. Food and drinks came out timely. Cocktail drinks were tasty and champagne pour was decent. Biggest disappointment was the oysters with caviar. They must’ve given us the smallest batch of oysters, I could barely see it. The other plates were good.

This place crushed it, pun totally intended. Whether you are here for brunch vibes, cocktails, or a casual hangout, Crushed delivers. The menu is creative without trying too hard and the portions are generous. We tried the Billionaire’s Bacon (crispy, sticky, salty-sweet perfection) & the oysters, which were impossible to stop picking at. Drinks? 10/10. They were fun, colorful and dangerously smooth. The vibe is upbeat but not chaotic, with a great mix of music and energy. Service was friendly and fast, even when it was packed. Loved the cozy decor touches. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in Danville and looking for something fun, flavorful, and a little bit extra.

Everything was wonderful! Fresh ingredients all around and service was fantastic - we ate our hearts out. Only feedback is 1 - only two beer options? There’s a ton of potential to bring in some better local options despite being a wine bar. 2 - music: going from Soundgarden to Hansen to The Beatles was bizarre and despite everything being amazing otherwise, the music made the vibe confusing lol. All this to say, we’d return. Mmbop! 🤘🏽

This restaurant offers incredible food, drinks, and customer service! I highly recommend the deviled eggs with smoked salmon, billionaire bacon, and avocado toast. For cocktails, you can't go wrong with a French 75. This is the best brunch I've had in awhile!

We come here often for happy hour. Great atmosphere. Casey is super attentive and fun to chat with, remembers our previous preferences, and his recommendations are spot on. Other bartenders we met - also lovely! Especially one who made me a cocktail off the menu that I wanted to try out before serving it at a party (please remind me your name!). Love their oysters, nice spin on deviled eggs with smoked salmon on top, delicious flavors of everything we tried so far!

This was my first time here and it was absolutely incredible. I have severe food allergies, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate me. It’s such a rare and comforting experience to be able to dine with peace of mind. The wine was exceptional and the service was flawless. I highly recommend this place if you appreciate great food, excellent wine, and a truly allergy-friendly experience.

Came in for Sunday brunch and the food is phenomenal. Great presentation and delicious flavors, you have to try the farmers market quiche, it's flaky and light with fresh market vegetables. The bartender Becky was knowledgeable and friendly and makes a damn fine cocktail (I had the tropic disco, a passion fruit and guava rum drink). Seating at the bar is comfortable and welcoming. A huge selection of wine on tap (with a flight option). They're brand new to town, and sure to become a staple of Danville.

Experienced Crush’d for the first time on my birthday. Our hostess met us right away. We made early dinner reservations for a Wednesday night and business was already booming. The interior has an open welcoming feel with a mixture of booths and chairs at free-standing tables. A warm modern wallpaper pulls you in, as well as the sleek wine covered wall and large bar area. The menu is limited, but has plentiful offerings - many options with fun ingredients and new/unusual combinations of flavors. Our waitress was friendly and knowledgeable, and offered her opinions only when asked. We shared several dishes. The lamb meatballs that were soft and tasty with creamy herbed yogurt and a slightly spicy harissa relish. The Shaved Brussels Sprouts Salad was a favorite with crunch and bright flavors spun together in an AMAZING pear vinaigrette. We also tried the Roasted Cauliflower, which was tasty, but a little heavy-handed with cumin. I’m of the opinion that a little cumin goes a long way. Made more tasty with the cashew green goddess dip on the side. Lastly, we selected 3 cheeses for our cheese board and a wine flight. They even offer small tasting glasses before you order. They made my birthday special with a small but delightful ice cream sandwich after our meal. It was the perfect size because we were stuffed! Everything was a wonderful experience and we will be back!
