My first time here. We went for Mother's Day. It was extremely hot and we ate outside. Our food was delicious and as we went to pay. Our waitress told us Mom's eat free for Mother's day. What a surprise. Thank you Crust so much. Made our day super special.

First time coming to Crust, Our reservation was for 5:15 And they sat us right away, this place was crowded so if you’re coming here, I recommend making reservations, Our waitress Natalie, who by the way is amazing and awesome always checking on us and always with a smile on her face thank you, Natalie, We started off the fried Calamari And a couple of margarita drinks from the happy hour these drinks were delicious, ordered some garlic knots, My girlfriend had the eggplant parmigiana. I ordered the spicy rigatoni sausage. These were delicious. At one point, my girlfriend says that the eggplant is better than mine. I don’t understand that but OK., So if you’re in the area, I recommend this place for a nice meal and if you’re not drive over you’ll love it.

Caught the lunch menu (11-3 on weekdays) and the food was amazing. I had the chicken parm sandwich and my daughter had the pizza slice and Caesar salad. We both tried everything and there are zero complaints. I'm also not usually an appetizer guy, but the spicy garlic knots sounded good. DO NOT SKIP THESE. So freaking good. Large portions, so be ready for that, but the food is delicious and service was fantastic.

We spent 88 dollars and what we received was horribly burnt. Inedible. Meatballs were ok, just cold. What a disappointment on father's day for my husband! It's like they didn't even care about quality. We got a pepperoni, pineapple, onion pizza that was burnt badly. A cheese Sicilian and the crust was so hard I couldn't chew it. I was hoping to like this but it was awful No quality controls. I see other pictures on these reviews and the pizza does look amazing but as you are going to see in my pictures everything's burnt.

This is my second time at Crust Simply Italian, but my first time at this location. This location has outdoor seating with mist sprayed to keep it cool when it's hot. There is a bar located in the middle inside the restaurant. When you walk in they will seat you. The day that I went it was not very busy but it can't get busy on the weekends and I do recommend making reservations if you have a big party. I really loved my server. Her name was Natalie and she was very attentive. When I was hesitant about the wine I wanted, she brought me some samples to help me make a decision. I really wanted penne a la vodka sauce but the sauce has pork in it. I opted to get the Penne a la Scottsdale. This was a very light dish. I wanted to try something different as I tried the di mare with linguine last time. I actually went for dessert. I tried their warm butter cake with a shot of ice cream. This was really good. I'm not a big fan of desserts but this was worth trying and a family favorite. Lol it was a great experience. The staff was nice and friendly and professional. The answer to my questions and we're very helpful. The bathrooms were pretty clean. There is plenty of parking outside. I definitely recommend coming here since they have a happy hour but that dessert is delicious!.

While visiting family we chose this restaurant for its comfort and relaxing ambience. Well.... Mainly because the food looked delicious :) . It's always hard to live up to expectations but this place was absolutely a 10/10. I put the pressure on the waitress "Jade" and she handled it like a seasoned Veteran. The kitchen made a dish spicy, but it was fixed quickly and the entire staff was very nice. The team member Ian was like Johnny on the spot when dishes needed to be picked up. The Big John was the best!!!! Seriously, this was an outstanding night and though management barely laughed at my jokes :( I felt special celebrating my birthday here. There's a cool speak easy connected to it, it's next door. I'll be returning again and again. Thank you!

Google
This is a cute place, great atmosphere great service. Calamari was very good and fresh. Prices are kinda high , pasta was a specific price had to add meat another $8 bucks. My pasta was too much tomato sauce I thought it was cherry tomatoes and olive oil garlic but nope. Wasn’t fond of there rolls kinda heavy. Husband loved his seafood pasta and had great flavor! My ice tea was amazing.

Yelp
I love Crust! I'll be honest they make my absolutely favorite salad anywhere - the warm arugula salad plus I add grilled chicken. I've had pizza there which is tasty and the salmon, also yum! I sit at the bar often and the servers are always attentive and pleasant. I love the atmosphere and they play great music. I'm a huge Billy Joel fan and they play him often. It definitely has a chill Italian eatery feel that you might find on a street in Brooklyn. Patio seating available for when it's not AZ summer!

Yelp
First time in and the service and food were great. Friendly staff, clean environment, and freah, delicious pizza. We had pizza, and salad with some butter cake for dessert. Gotta try the butter cake! Manager Ryan had amazing guest service. We will be back and definitely recommend for a nice cozy lunch.

Yelp
We stopped in around 8pm on a Saturday night and the staff sat us right away and the was happy to have us. The sever was fast and kept checking on our party of 6 and even fixed their soda machine was one of the party guest soda was not tastings right she fixed asap. The drinks were very good and fancy and the food was very large portions and very good! We realized when we were done it was already closing time at 10pm and did not feel like they were trying to push us out. We were very happy with the service and will be back again

Yelp
Stopped by here for a quick lunch. The place is pretty modern casual appearance to it. We were seated right away during lunch, wasnt too crowded. I tried the Grilled Chicken Campania. The sandwich was kinda big and lot of fries. The fig jam flavor was really good, the sandwich and the ingredients felt quite fresh. They also have a lunch special for the pizza by the slice with an option of a drink as well. My friend had the short rib pasta and said it was pretty good and portions were good as well.

Yelp
Love Crust! Met up with a friend for lunch and, as always, it was a total win. We kicked things off with espresso martinis--because, duh, I'm obsessed and they were so good. Like, dangerously good. I went with the chopped salad this time and honestly? Absolute perfection. I've been here a few times now and can confirm: the pizza is 100% legit. Like, "don't-talk-to-me-I'm-eating" kind of legit. We've officially decided we might start coming weekly... or bi-weekly... or whenever we need a crusty little escape. Who's to say? Also, shoutout to the staff--always friendly, always on point. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Our group enjoyed ourselves at Crust on a Friday evening. We started with fried calamari and drinks, moving to a charcuterie tray moving on to the New York pizza adding pepperoni and finishing with tiramisu. All of it was fantastic!! The staff were great, friendly and went above and beyond to keep us happy! We will definitely make this a spot to rotate with our other fav places!

Yelp
Came here for dinner for the first time. I've seen it before but never stopped in and eaten. What's great find! Loved being able to sit outside on the patio in the shade side of the building so that was perfect. Server was very nice and helpful. She answered all our questions about this or that on the menu, etc. Started off with the fried mozzarella for appetizer and it was scrumptious! Perfectly crispy and the sauce was delicious. I had some pasta with spicy sausage and these wonderful meatballs that were huge and oh so freshly made. You could tell. All the food was amazing and for sure I'll be back another night.

Yelp
This was a great spot! The ambiance was very relaxing and family friendly. We ordered the whipped ricotta and the Nicky's Buratta which was a good amount of food for two people. The whipped ricotta was good, I just wish the bread was a bit more toasted (my personal preference). As for the pizza, it was great! Savory and flavorful! The service was also great, our server was very attentive and personable. We also ordered the sorry not sorry cocktail which is strawberry forward cocktail perfect for someone who prefers a drink more fruit juice forward. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the speakeasy, but I'll be sure to check it out next time I'm in town.

Yelp
This was my first visit to Crust Simply Italian. It won't be my last! It wasn't very busy on a Tuesday night, we were seated immediately. The space is new and beautiful. Addie was our server, she was super sweet and helpful. We decide to get a few items to share. We enjoyed the Bruschetta, the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and the Long Island Special (Ricotta, Fresh Mozzarella, Honey, Cracked Black Pepper). The only knock on this place: the timing of the food delivery. We had barely touched the shrimp and bread when the pizza arrived. It was cold by the time we got to it. I enjoy a good date night with my husband, I don't like to feel rushed.

Yelp
The Mozzarella en Carroza was my least favorite so i want to get the negative out of the way! I was hoping for more mozzarella it was like a thin slice of cheese in a Hearty bun made of breading. Where's the cheese???? The rest....yummy..... proportionate amount of breading to calamari. Not very rubbery it is so hard to get them right. The meatballs were seasoned with flavor and we loved the spicy garlic knots because they have pepperoni and sausage. I'm a salad lover so theirs was great I really enjoyed it. I'll be back with my friends again! Cute place with a happy vibe. Lots of people lots of laughter and friendly staff.

Yelp
Lived in NJ for over 60 years. Thin crust pizza brings back so many memories. Had it tonight at Crust Simply Italian and it was delicious. (Maybe could be a little more oily as that is true East Coast pie but still very good and probably one of the best pizzas I've had out here.) And I have searched!! Kudos to the young man at the To Go desk (Sat 7/19). Polite, apologized for the wait (was on the phone taking an order) and offered me water while I waited. Now that is how you run a business. Will def return.

Yelp
Husband and I arrived on a Saturday for date night because we were craving some pasta. It was quite packed but we were seated in about 15-20 minutes without a reservation. Even though it was quite busy, I was still able to have a conservation with my husband throughout dinner. The music wasn't too loud and service was great. Next to the bar, there are TVs playing sports. We ordered drinks and two orders of their angel hair pasta, one with sausage. The protein did cost extra. I love my drinks on the sweeter side so the black cherry mule was perfect! The angel hair pasta did come out a bit clumped together but it was still tasty. We skipped dessert but will return to try it next time. Overall the experience was pleasant and food was good and filling.

Yelp
Crust Simply Italian is located at Verde at Cooley Station in Gilbert. "Simply Italian" and "Pizza Rustica" are some terms that you will hear when coming to Crust. Rustica is a term used for the leftover dough scraps from bread that are pieced together to form the pizza dough. The odd shaped pizza is then topped with simple ingredients. The first time I visited here, I got a side of meatballs and the Arugula and Prosciutto Rustica. Both the pizza and the service were great. The second time I was here, I ordered the rigatoni sausage and enjoyed every bite. Crust has a variety of pizzas, calzones, pastas and appetizers with gluten-free options. They also have great happy hour specials. The Crust Restaurant Group opened their first location in 2007 and will be expanding to more locations across the Valley in the next few years. They recently took over a couple of recently closed Artichoke Basille's Pizza locations and debuted a new concept called Crust Pizzeria. This Crust Simply Italian restaurant has an awesome speakeasy concept next door called The Blue Heron. I love the vibe there and the fun drinks that they make.

Yelp
We love the service, the pizza, and the pasta. The mozzarella appetizer, garlic knots...especially the spicy ones.

Yelp
We went to Crust on a beautiful, warm, day and we sat on the patio, enjoying the late afternoon shade. We were there during happy hour so started with drinks and garlic knots. Oh. My. GOSH! Do not miss the knots! They're delicious! For dinner I ordered a Caesar salad with a meatball upgrade, asking for the meatballs on the side. My husband ordered the meat calzone. My Caesar salad was nothing special and the meatballs were underwhelming. Check out the photo. Added note about the meatballs...too much filler. They should take note from Oregano's on their meatballs. On the other hand, my husband's calzone was delicious! I stole a couple bites. Highly recommend the calzone. Our server was a young guy named Bower. He was great! Friendly and very knowledgeable as a server. We'll definitely go back to Crust.

Yelp
Chose Crust for a birthday celebration. It was an exceptional visit except for that we requested indoor seating but were initially seated by the huge open door which made it feel like we were outside on that chilly day. But this was quickly corrected and we were sat at an appropriately warm table. We ordered the Happy Hour garlic knots. The sauce had a wonderful flavor. A little sweet in my opinion, but I liked it all the more for it. They weren't as "doughy" as what I've come to think of as traditional garlic knots but everyone at the table enjoyed them and agreed that they preferred them to the doughy kind. The lasagna had a good flavor, despite the noodles being a bit mushy. I had hoped that the sweetness of the marinara in the garlic knot sauce would carry over since we were told it was the same one used, but it didn't. It had a great flavor though so no complaints. The chicken parm was the star of the show for me. It was a huge portion that provided lunch for two people the next day in addition to feeding one for dinner. The chicken wasn't dried out and had a beautiful consistency. Flavors were on point. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. They took time to check on us and we never felt like we were wanting for anything. Would definitely recommend for a delicious upper/mid Italian experience.

Yelp
Delicious Italian food- a bold claim on my part but I will argue some of the best East Coast Italian in Gilbert/East Valley! Service is spectacular and dishes are plated beautifully, although I will admit I am a sucker for their takeout and delivery as well! I have tried their pastas, pizza rustica and NY-style and calzones and everything has been a huge hit! Service is very quick and friendly in an elevated laid back environment. Highly reccomend this for date night or family night. Bonus points for their dog friendly patio!

Yelp
Great food and ambiance! Made reservations for my daughter's 25th bday for a party of 8. The table was a bit tight for 8 adults and we asked for an extended table. The manager, Ryan wasn't very accommodating and was a bit brash. He kept telling us that the two seat table had reservations and so did we, the party of 8, but given a table for 6. Another hostess was also puzzled why we were given a table for 6 vs 8. He then started to tell us that they have over 28 reservations therefore we would Have an hour and 40 minutes to dine if we are going to need the extra table. By the time he was able to accommodate us, we decided to stay where we were st and just made it work. Our server Erin made up for the lack of hospitality by being very attentive and catered to our needs. We spent over $400 for this dinner and drinks and would have appreciated a little more appreciation from him by ensuring we were good. Another mgr came on his behalf. Which was obvious he didn't want to deal with us. I work in the restaurant business and always know how great hospitality goes a long long way. We understand it was a busy night, but In today's times where everything cost a little bit more, customers expect a valued experience. Hope to have a better experience at our next visit, whenever we decide to return. We love the vibe there and the food and drinks are always on point; Just the lack of accommodation and appreciation made the experience lack luster.

Yelp
First time here and I loved everything!!! The roasted mussels were amazing. I really enjoyed my warm arugula salad (maybe a little heavy on the dressing but I had them hold the croutons so that might be why), and the star of the night was Gelato D'Oro! OMGOSH Our server was a little stressed because they gave her 3 tables at the same time, but there was other staff helping her so we felt very well taken care of. We will be back, there's so much still to try.

Yelp
The service at Crust gets the highest rating of 5, food however fell short of the 5 I was expecting. We found Crust last Saturday when we searched for a good Italian restaurant around their area. We arrived at around 7 and were seated pretty quickly even though the restaurant was full. They have a patio and garage-door like patio doors that were open for the first part of our dinner. That made the restaurant pretty cold and I was feeling a little uncomfortable. Menu had good variety of options including gluten free pasta. We ordered the fried calamari, bruschetta, fettuccini Alfredo as well as the Penne ala Scottsdale. Appetizers were served pretty quickly. The bruschetta board was delicious and so was rhetorical calamari. The sauce that came with it gave it excellent flavor. They also served it with a grilled lemon rather than just a regular one. The pasta dishes were served quickly after that which was good but we had not yet finished our appetizers. We still appreciated the fast service though. Both pastas get a score of 3.5. The fettuccine Alfredo was good but normally, when it's done really well, it's a real treat but we didn't feel it was up to that level. My dish was the penne alla Scottsdale. Honestly, the first few bites were heavenly however, the more I ate of it, it got more and more bitter and I stopped enjoying it after my 5th bite. I ended up eating only about half of the dish and decided not to take the leftovers. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Crust. There are many more options on the menu which I think are worth trying. The price point is average given that it's a nicer restaurant. The ambiance is beautiful and the service is excellent so I would definitely give them another try.

Yelp
Crust is my new favorite pizza place. The ambience is great and the food tastes amazing. It can get really busy on the weekends, so I would recommend getting their early to beat the rush. It can also get really loud in there so if you are looking for somewhere more quiet, it might be best to go on a weekday. I always order the Long Island Special pizza. It has ricotta, mozzerella, pepper, and honey. I think it would also taste great with some prosciutto on it. I have also tried the Mediterranean Farm Salad. It is fantastic! The salads are portioned for 2-3 people, so they are great for sharing or a meal in itself. Ingredients taste fresh and food comes out consistent.

Yelp
We have been to Crust Simply twice, once for their food and drinks, and the other time for their board and bottle deal. When we first came to this place, there was a long wait ahead of us unless we sat at the patio. It was sometime in January, and we thought it'd be fine if we asked them to turn on the heater but it was actually really cold that day. We ordered a calamari and a personal-size pizza. The pizza was huge and tasty, definitely with good value. The calamari was fresh and had my preferred style of battery. I had one of their signature cocktails, which was a riff of a classic cocktail old fashioned. The drink was a bit too weak for me, but the taste was good. Overall we liked the dining experience minus the fact that we sat in the cold. We heard there was a speakeasy next to this restaurant so we went to check out the speakeasy next. The second time that we came here was for the board and bottle deal. We had a bottle of dry red wine and three different kinds of bruschettas. The bread was just okay but it paired well with the wine. The wine that was included in this deal was on the cheaper end of their selection. But with this price, it was worth it for a date night.

Yelp
Tonight's dinner at Crust on Recker and Williamsfield was spectacular! The food was on point, hot, flavorful and great texture. My husband and I tried the Whipped Ricotta appetizer and shared the Lobster Ravioli. Great Job Chef! Thanks for making our night! Oh and let's not forget get the beverage. I had the Patio Pounder and I loved it! Thanks bartender.

Yelp
Terrible service. Walked in had the whole wait staff stare at us but not talk or even say hi. Left after about 15 mins.
google avatar

Yelp
we decided to go here on valentine's day and do takeout since we never tried this place yet. food was prompt and ready at the time we picked for pick-up. the gal that helped us was very friendly and nice. the place was poppin inside and they were busy indeed! if you do decide to dine-in, there's a good amount of seating inside as well as a nice patio outside. as for the food, we ordered chicken parmesan (was okay, not the best thing), meat calzone (amazing, highly recommend), and pappardelle bolognese (also amazing and highly recommend). overall, this place is great and we would come back again!
google avatar

Jessa K.

Yelp
Great pizza. Loved the Mediterranean salad. Great service. Reasonable prices. Really good iced tea, which is key for me. I like the nice open room and booth seating. The outdoor seating was a little dirty but it was really good overall and we will for sure be back.

Yelp
I was really hoping for a better experience. My wife and sister in law come here often. I chose to join them this time with my daughter. We sat on the patio for lunch. Ordered 6 drinks, cheese pizza, appetizer, and kids spaghetti. Food was really good but many other frustrations. The wait time was beyond difficult with our waitress, more than once we asked another server to please let our server know we needed service. When you spend over $100 and never have a server check on you it makes it difficult to want to come back. Perhaps to go orders are a better option, I will eventually give it another go. Hopefully then I can provide an improved rating. Otherwise the food and drinks were great it was just diminished by our overall experience.

Veronica M.

Yelp
We love having dinner and happy hour at Crust. We usually have Krystal and she is the best. So accurate and personable. The food is fantastic, the service impeccable And we will be back. Order the meatballs....so light and flavorful. Yum! Crust is where it's at.

Jennifer M.

Yelp
We walked in and were quoted by a manager a 30-40 min wait time and then ended up waiting 70 minutes. I had to walk up and ask when we were going to be seated because we were way past the quoted time, only to be sat and see 7 min empty tables just sitting there. And we weren't the only ones on the wait list that had to wait that long. Make it make sense.
google avatar

Yelp
Great rustica pizza (it's in the shape of a wine bottle). My friend ordered the Cesar salad and truffle fries from the happy hour menu. Awesome selection of wine and the food is always tasty. The service was fast and the ambiance is nice.

Yelp
Crust is amazing in every way. Their eggplant parm is the best you will ever find! Atmosphere and staff are wonderful! But I have an issue, It is December and they are playing Christmas music. I get it, but it's old outdated Christmas music. Crust, there are so many Christmas songs that are modern and fun! Your Xmas playlist is a total downer!
google avatar

Yelp
First time here and what an absolute disappointment on Mother's Day. Checked in 40 min ahead of time online and arrived at our seating time to be told the wait was an additional hour. Fine, we waited an hour. I then checked in with the hostess and she could not give me a time of when we would be seated. She just kept telling me how many parties were ahead of me and could not tell me a time frame. I think the front of house needs some training. I've done that job, it's not that hard. Not to mention this was at 2pm, not even during their busiest time. Won't be back.

Holden R.

Yelp
Our Server Becca was amazing!! She's such a sweetheart and very helpful! Definitely going to be coming back.

Yelp
Crust is simply amazing! My family and I frequent Crust not only because of its close proximity to our home, but also because of the delicious food and excellent service. We've been here during different times of the day and different days of the week. Crust has a great happy hour menu with a variety of food and drink options. We've tried different menu items and enjoyed them all, but my go-to order is their Grandma's Rustica. It comes with marinara, mozzarella, garlic, and parmesan. It may sound "simple," but I like to think of it as an elevated cheese pizza. Like a grown up version of the cheese pizza. I love it. Another favorite is the warm arugula salad. It has wild mushrooms, goat cheese, cannellini beans, croutons, and white balsamic vinaigrette. My guys love Nicky's Burrata which has pesto, sausage, caramelized onions, pickled fresnos, and red pepper cream. This pizza is packed with flavor and even has a little kick. We've been to Crust more than what my check-ins show, and we've never had a bad experience. Their team is always so friendly and helpful!

Yelp
It was the first time coming to Crust, my reservation was for 5:15 and was seated right away, my girlfriend and I started with a couple of margaritas. They were on the happy hour. I will have to say it was a great drink. Our waitress Natalie, who was awesome always with a smile and always came to check on us. for appetizers. We have the calamari, then an order of the garlic knots. I had the spicy rigatoni sausage. My girlfriend had the eggplant Parmesan. She did not stop bragging about it. At one point. She said it was better than mine. I don't understand that, but if you haven't been here, I recommend highly.

Yelp
Our table ordered Meatballs for an app and a Caesar Salad (not pictured), Mediterranean Salad in a bread bowl, and the Autumn Braised Beef Ravioli. There were no complaints from anyone at the table about any of the entrees. I personally ordered the ravioli and was afraid it wasn't going to be filling, but it was surprisingly good. The sauce was pretty rich and a little sweet but it hit the spot for me. I would come back to try other entrees. The meatballs were good too, I would also order again. This spot is walking distance from my place and has a dog friendly patio, so we'll probably be back with my dog. Service was great, my girlfriend had lots of questions and got honest answers.

Yelp
If you've ever thought about eating at Crust, do it! Service is amazing and all the staff are very friendly. Their manager, Ryan, is so helpful and always makes sure that our evening there is going great. The food is amazing and if you want dessert, their tiramisu and warm butter cake are delectable!

Tina W.

Yelp
Everything is always great here! We come often. Food, quality, drinks, taste, service, never have had a bad experience. Never a long wait for anything. We also love the Blue Heron next door, amazing drinks and ambience

Yelp
Me and my fiancée got to try this spot a little bit ago. Nice ambiance and good food! Our server was very helpful. I'm a sucker for garlic knots and theirs were delicious! We also got the meatballs and they were super flavorful and delicious!! My fiancée got the pappardelle bolognese and I got the fettuccine Alfredo. Everything tasted great! But we both filled up on apps so we ended up taking home our main courses but they tasted just as good the next day! Definitely give this place a try if you're in the area!

Yelp
The fact that this place has a 4.2 star review is shocking to me. I love Italian food so obviously I was so excited that we had another option for Italian good around my neighborhood. But listen, I have not been this disappointed in a while! The food had zero flavor, no seasoning, not even salt! The pasta was overcooked and sticking together, the red sauce tasted like canned tomato sauce without an ounce of seasoning. There is a serious need to evaluate the recipes in this establishment. However, I would like to say, the service was amazing. The waiters and waitresses were very kind and responsive. I normally don't right reviews but I had to say something. I will not be going back for sure.

Yelp
My wife and I came for a mid week date. It was about a 15 minute wait. It was worth it. The service was very good and decently quick when we were seated. We did wait about 10 minutes for our wine. I had grandma's pasta and it was excellent. Meatballs tasted authentic and the sauce was not highly acidic. I did pepper and salt a bit to taste, but that's me. I like lots of pepper and salt. My wife had the meat lasagna. I cannot personally attest to the taste, it it looked amazing and she said it was some of the best she had ever had. We then splurged on the warm butter cake for dessert, and it was probably the best dessert I've ever had out. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I just want to say thank you to the Manager who invited my husband and I back for a second chance after a not so great experience here. I am happy to report we had a pleasant experience and the food was delicious. Definitely glad we gave it another try and we definitely will be back.

Yelp
Stopped for their awesome happy hour on a Friday. Our server, Tracy, was very good. Provided helpful recommendations and was very friendly. Definitely worth checking out!

Yelp
Meat calzone was excellent and patio was perfectly shaded in the late afternoon/early evening.

Yelp
I am always trying to find a decent Italian restaurant near home and I frequently fail. Thank goodness my wife suggested Crust. We have been twice now and I am already a fan of the Chicken parmesan and the artsy pizzas. It's a great location, good vibe and service is great.

Yelp
This is the 3rd location ( Cooley Station) that has opened up in the Valley. It's their newest location that started service in the Fall of 2022. Original location was founded in Scottsdale in 2007. We visited on 8/4 in the evening after 7 PM was fairly busy, but we were able to get a few seats at the bar. Started with their signature item from the appetizer portion of the menu-which were the garlic knots. 5 to an order. They're made with fresh pizza dough tied and tossed with fresh garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese & sprinkled with fresh parsley. They come spicy with a red pepper drizzle and you might happen to get some tastes of deli fresh meats inside. Fluffy doughy pillows of perfection! Plus: They are a meal in itself! Menu has many great offerings including fresh salads, pizza, pasta, calzones and other fine Italian classics and a nice dessert selection. My husband got the Uncle Louie pie and added fresh garlic. I had a Caesar salad with red onion & black olives added. Both were really good and we ended up with plenty of left overs to take home. Service and staff were really great. The two bartenders on staff that evening were so pleasant and working hard behind the bar. It was great to notice additional employees hustling around to finish up their prime dining crowd. My husband and I have both worked in the restaurant industry and we happened to see that the restaurant manger was out on the floor helping in assisting staff, customers and overseeing the flow of the operation by all personnel the entire time we were there. In fact, after we finished our meals & paid our bill, I made it a point to walk over to him to share what we observed while dining and how important that visual is to see. Definitely a place to experience if you haven't already. Suggest going on more of their off hours of operation as the indoor space isn't huge inside so it fills up fast. They do have a great happy hour during the week from 3 PM-6 PM. The bar offers classics drinks, creative cocktails such as their specialty called the Ostrich! Delightful nouveau beverages and of course beer and wine to pair well with their food. Enjoy!
