Crust Simply Italian Gilbert

Had a nice dinner here on 12/9/25 for a business meeting. Staff was very friendly and very good follow up at our table which is rare sadly to say at most restaurants these days. I had the chicken Francese and for apps we had garlic knots, bacon wrapped shrimp, and the meatballs as a group of 8. I’ll be heading back to the Gilbert area in a few months and look forward to trying this place again so if your in the area, check em out 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

Such a nice gem in Cooley Station. The ambiance was nice. The staff was nice and informative. We started the night out with some Whipped ricotta which I highly suggest trying. Some other dishes we tried were the chopped salad, the salmon and the Stromboli. All were amazing!

The entire experience from the hostess/seating to the ordering/dining was excellent. Our server was fantastic and not only made great recommendations, but checked in at the right times, refilled drinks perfectly, and just made us feel comfortable. We had the Short Rib pasta and the Linguine and clams. Both were excellent. Can't wait to come back and try more!

First time coming to Crust, Our reservation was for 5:15 And they sat us right away, this place was crowded so if you’re coming here, I recommend making reservations, Our waitress Natalie, who by the way is amazing and awesome always checking on us and always with a smile on her face thank you, Natalie, We started off the fried Calamari And a couple of margarita drinks from the happy hour these drinks were delicious, ordered some garlic knots, My girlfriend had the eggplant parmigiana. I ordered the spicy rigatoni sausage. These were delicious. At one point, my girlfriend says that the eggplant is better than mine. I don’t understand that but OK., So if you’re in the area, I recommend this place for a nice meal and if you’re not drive over you’ll love it.

Caught the lunch menu (11-3 on weekdays) and the food was amazing. I had the chicken parm sandwich and my daughter had the pizza slice and Caesar salad. We both tried everything and there are zero complaints. I'm also not usually an appetizer guy, but the spicy garlic knots sounded good. DO NOT SKIP THESE. So freaking good. Large portions, so be ready for that, but the food is delicious and service was fantastic.

This is a cute place, great atmosphere great service. Calamari was very good and fresh. Prices are kinda high , pasta was a specific price had to add meat another $8 bucks. My pasta was too much tomato sauce I thought it was cherry tomatoes and olive oil garlic but nope. Wasn’t fond of there rolls kinda heavy. Husband loved his seafood pasta and had great flavor! My ice tea was amazing.

My first time here. We went for Mother's Day. It was extremely hot and we ate outside. Our food was delicious and as we went to pay. Our waitress told us Mom's eat free for Mother's day. What a surprise. Thank you Crust so much. Made our day super special.

Pasta was good to the right all dente. The meatballs were very yummy. Overall I would come back and try something new

We stopped here last week for dinner on my wife's birthday. Just so you know this restaurant has an absolutely amazing birthday deal if you sign up for the loyalty Club. Not only that but the loyalty club is completely the best one I've ever participated in. You earn rewards so fast with it. My wife ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, her usual, and the meatballs are fantastic. Nice size portion of food, enough for her to take some for lunch the next day. I got the calzone and it was also delicious and huge. Mckenna was our waitress she was friendly and efficient. She made the meal even more enjoyable by stopping back to check just the right amount of times to make sure we were having an enjoyable evening. Restaurant is clean, cool vibe inside. Maybe the only issue I would say is it might be just a hair on the loud side when it's full. But I definitely will be going back

Brought the family here for dinner. The restaurant was busy. There were 2 hosts accommodating guests. The entrance line soon began to pile in the front with other eager guests. There's no sign in sheet which led to a rude guy cutting and was seated before us. The hosts didn't even ask who was next in line. I don't recommend strollers in the restaurant. Every space was tight and not enough room to move around or park. I got the eggplant Parmesan which was delicious 9/10! I wish I had a little bit more sauce though. The spaghetti was decent. The short rib pasta was "short" of meat and more so mushroom. Great flavors. Service was ok. I'd like to come back on a weekday, maybe it'll be better.

Have tried this place, close to my home, THREE times. First time my party of 6 was seated outdoors under a VERY LOUD speaker.We asked them to turn down the music so we could talk.They did.Our appetizers for happy hour arrived almost ice cold.Meatballs included.My server said the meatballs were "not meant to be hot." The salad was drippy wet with dressing. Tried again. Same service and cold food at happy hour. THIRD TRY: A friend from Fountain Hills visited and we had a big lunch. Seafood pasta was barely hot and not much seafood.My Caesar salad was dripping wet and soggy with dressing. A great disappointment as Crust is so close to home, we'd eat there if the food were served hot, and someone knew how to make a Caesar salad. I won't be going back. I tend to go to places over and over once they have shown me good food and service that is reliable.

Doesn't hold a candle to Floridino's . It's just Hipper No one said "OMG! This is FABULOUS!"... EVERYONE said "it's ok, it's good, I might order it again. Service was good, short by the glass wine list, hard chairs. I wouldn't tell people to come here

The service was great. The food was very meh. We got pizza, pasta, bruschetta, and burrata. The pizza was so underwhelming. The pasta was OK, but not delicious. The burrata was good, but super simple. The bruschetta was also OK, but not great. Bummer, because I expected it all to be really good!

The service was absolutely outstanding. Friendly. Courteous, and available. The staff were great. My issue was with the food and general ambience. The ambiance was loud. Concrete floors, tile walls, hard surfaces ensured a noisy environment. Toss in a bunch of screaming children and I think you get the picture. The food was ok. Not great, but ok. Not quite even Olive Garden. I ordered the linguine frutti d mare. 3 clams, 2 muscles, a small handful of rubbery octopus rings, and 3 shrimp. Although I love garlic, finding 9 raw cloves in my meal was pushing it. Also, the concept of Italian bread has eluded this restaurant. The bread served was right from Golden Corral. I guess I'm giving up on finding decent Italian food in the east valley.

Had a decent size catering order for the Higley unified school district, they helped out with everything even donated all the food, what an amazing place, we go in there quite often, and the food is always amazing, really close to New York!

The food was a little too bland for my liking but overall was good. The dessert however was fantastic! For Apps I got the meatballs sliders. Entree was the angel hair pasta with shrimp and the dessert was tiramisu. Which was a delish! Yum. Ambience was very welcoming and the service was great.

First of all, I love the restaurants on this plaza at Recker rd. On a mission to try every single one of them. I cannot believe I forgot to take pictures of our pizza and garlic knots from crust! The pizza was great to share with the family but my favorite were the garlic knots! The location is also really cute and nicely decorated and has also a bar are right when u get in. The pizza came out pretty fast and service was friendly.

We made a last minute decision to eat at Crust the other night. We had about a 30 minute wait so we went to the green area and visited some of the vendors that were set up. Once we got called to our table we started with the meat and cheese board. I mean you can't go wrong with mean and cheese in an Italian restaurant. I had their GF pizza which was pretty good. The crust had a nice taste and texture. My son had the spaghetti and meatballs but he didn't like the meatballs. My husband had the chicken parm which he said was above average but he's has better. My daughters had Alfredo and spaghetti and meatballs. They didn't have much feedback for me. We looked at the dessert menu but there wasn't really anything that caught our eye that was also Gluten free. Overall it was a decent meal and we will eat there again.

We have dined here several times and without disappointment. Today my bestie brought me for my bday and the service was beyond exceptional. Natalie was so kind and attentive. The food was amazing as usual. Even saw the hidden speakeasy which is another reason to go back soon

Kylie and Krystal what a team! We are weekly regulars and they remember our drinks of choice and always have the sweetest smiles! We look forward to coming and seeing them! The food is awesome too! Especially the Blackened Salmon anything! Loved my cannoli!

The service was really good and they were kind people. We had a couple difficulties with our meal but the management accommodated well and made the experience great. The pasta was light in flavor but still good. The pizza was really good and the portion is great. The restaurant itself was clean and had a good amount of seating indoors and outdoors.

Stopped by here for a quick lunch. The place is pretty modern casual appearance to it. We were seated right away during lunch, wasnt too crowded. I tried the Grilled Chicken Campania. The sandwich was kinda big and lot of fries. The fig jam flavor was really good, the sandwich and the ingredients felt quite fresh. They also have a lunch special for the pizza by the slice with an option of a drink as well. My friend had the short rib pasta and said it was pretty good and portions were good as well.

Love Crust! Met up with a friend for lunch and, as always, it was a total win. We kicked things off with espresso martinis--because, duh, I'm obsessed and they were so good. Like, dangerously good. I went with the chopped salad this time and honestly? Absolute perfection. I've been here a few times now and can confirm: the pizza is 100% legit. Like, "don't-talk-to-me-I'm-eating" kind of legit. We've officially decided we might start coming weekly... or bi-weekly... or whenever we need a crusty little escape. Who's to say? Also, shoutout to the staff--always friendly, always on point. Can't wait to come back!

I really wanted to like this place, because the ingredients and overall flavor have potential but it's such a shame how they ruin it every single time. The bottom of the pizza is always burnt. Not just a little crispy...completely black, to the point where it takes away from the whole experience. It feels like the people cooking just don't know how to handle pizza properly. Every order I've gotten, the undercarriage is charred and basically inedible. It's frustrating, because if they ever got this part right, it could honestly be a great pizza. Until they fix this, it's hard to recommend. No one should be paying for a pizza that's burnt on the bottom every time.

This was a great spot! The ambiance was very relaxing and family friendly. We ordered the whipped ricotta and the Nicky's Buratta which was a good amount of food for two people. The whipped ricotta was good, I just wish the bread was a bit more toasted (my personal preference). As for the pizza, it was great! Savory and flavorful! The service was also great, our server was very attentive and personable. We also ordered the sorry not sorry cocktail which is strawberry forward cocktail perfect for someone who prefers a drink more fruit juice forward. Unfortunately we didn't have time to check out the speakeasy, but I'll be sure to check it out next time I'm in town.

Came here for dinner for the first time. I've seen it before but never stopped in and eaten. What's great find! Loved being able to sit outside on the patio in the shade side of the building so that was perfect. Server was very nice and helpful. She answered all our questions about this or that on the menu, etc. Started off with the fried mozzarella for appetizer and it was scrumptious! Perfectly crispy and the sauce was delicious. I had some pasta with spicy sausage and these wonderful meatballs that were huge and oh so freshly made. You could tell. All the food was amazing and for sure I'll be back another night.

I love Crust! I'll be honest they make my absolutely favorite salad anywhere - the warm arugula salad plus I add grilled chicken. I've had pizza there which is tasty and the salmon, also yum! I sit at the bar often and the servers are always attentive and pleasant. I love the atmosphere and they play great music. I'm a huge Billy Joel fan and they play him often. It definitely has a chill Italian eatery feel that you might find on a street in Brooklyn. Patio seating available for when it's not AZ summer!

good was good, service was good. if you go, get the spicy garlic knots they're amazing! food is pretty spicy and i like spice but may be a bit too much spice. all in all this place is good.

I ordered takeout pizza and garlic knots. The pizza was a simple Margherita pizza. It was completely black on the bottom, almost no sauce on the pizza at all. This is really unacceptable. This isn't a $5 little Caesar's pizza. It's the bare minimum to have a pizza that's edible.

I love eating here. Atmosphere is great. Modern contemporary out waitress Kiley was awesome and the food tasted amazing. Tonight we tried the Roasted Mussels and Grandma's pasta. Love the quantity and texture of this flavorful dish. Thanks for making our evening a great experience. ‍

Our group enjoyed ourselves at Crust on a Friday evening. We started with fried calamari and drinks, moving to a charcuterie tray moving on to the New York pizza adding pepperoni and finishing with tiramisu. All of it was fantastic!! The staff were great, friendly and went above and beyond to keep us happy! We will definitely make this a spot to rotate with our other fav places!

This was my first visit to Crust Simply Italian. It won't be my last! It wasn't very busy on a Tuesday night, we were seated immediately. The space is new and beautiful. Addie was our server, she was super sweet and helpful. We decide to get a few items to share. We enjoyed the Bruschetta, the Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and the Long Island Special (Ricotta, Fresh Mozzarella, Honey, Cracked Black Pepper). The only knock on this place: the timing of the food delivery. We had barely touched the shrimp and bread when the pizza arrived. It was cold by the time we got to it. I enjoy a good date night with my husband, I don't like to feel rushed.

The Mozzarella en Carroza was my least favorite so i want to get the negative out of the way! I was hoping for more mozzarella it was like a thin slice of cheese in a Hearty bun made of breading. Where's the cheese???? The rest....yummy..... proportionate amount of breading to calamari. Not very rubbery it is so hard to get them right. The meatballs were seasoned with flavor and we loved the spicy garlic knots because they have pepperoni and sausage. I'm a salad lover so theirs was great I really enjoyed it. I'll be back with my friends again! Cute place with a happy vibe. Lots of people lots of laughter and friendly staff.

First time in and the service and food were great. Friendly staff, clean environment, and freah, delicious pizza. We had pizza, and salad with some butter cake for dessert. Gotta try the butter cake! Manager Ryan had amazing guest service. We will be back and definitely recommend for a nice cozy lunch.

Excellent food and great portions! We usually do take out. The ordering is easy and intuitive. They have followed any special requests 100% of the time. We've had a very consistent, great quality, experience with Crust! It's our go to neighborhood Italian place. Try it out!

Crust Simply Italian is located at Verde at Cooley Station in Gilbert. "Simply Italian" and "Pizza Rustica" are some terms that you will hear when coming to Crust. Rustica is a term used for the leftover dough scraps from bread that are pieced together to form the pizza dough. The odd shaped pizza is then topped with simple ingredients. The first time I visited here, I got a side of meatballs and the Arugula and Prosciutto Rustica. Both the pizza and the service were great. The second time I was here, I ordered the rigatoni sausage and enjoyed every bite. Crust has a variety of pizzas, calzones, pastas and appetizers with gluten-free options. They also have great happy hour specials. The Crust Restaurant Group opened their first location in 2007 and will be expanding to more locations across the Valley in the next few years. They recently took over a couple of recently closed Artichoke Basille's Pizza locations and debuted a new concept called Crust Pizzeria. This Crust Simply Italian restaurant has an awesome speakeasy concept next door called The Blue Heron. I love the vibe there and the fun drinks that they make.

Chose Crust for a birthday celebration. It was an exceptional visit except for that we requested indoor seating but were initially seated by the huge open door which made it feel like we were outside on that chilly day. But this was quickly corrected and we were sat at an appropriately warm table. We ordered the Happy Hour garlic knots. The sauce had a wonderful flavor. A little sweet in my opinion, but I liked it all the more for it. They weren't as "doughy" as what I've come to think of as traditional garlic knots but everyone at the table enjoyed them and agreed that they preferred them to the doughy kind. The lasagna had a good flavor, despite the noodles being a bit mushy. I had hoped that the sweetness of the marinara in the garlic knot sauce would carry over since we were told it was the same one used, but it didn't. It had a great flavor though so no complaints. The chicken parm was the star of the show for me. It was a huge portion that provided lunch for two people the next day in addition to feeding one for dinner. The chicken wasn't dried out and had a beautiful consistency. Flavors were on point. All of the staff were very helpful and friendly. They took time to check on us and we never felt like we were wanting for anything. Would definitely recommend for a delicious upper/mid Italian experience.

Delicious Italian food- a bold claim on my part but I will argue some of the best East Coast Italian in Gilbert/East Valley! Service is spectacular and dishes are plated beautifully, although I will admit I am a sucker for their takeout and delivery as well! I have tried their pastas, pizza rustica and NY-style and calzones and everything has been a huge hit! Service is very quick and friendly in an elevated laid back environment. Highly reccomend this for date night or family night. Bonus points for their dog friendly patio!

Crest is one of the new Italian restaurants on the Gilbert scene. crust is a good bet if you want an incident or social. Inside or outside groove appetizers or a solid dinner for yourself. Drinks or a company lunch. It means all the needs the staff is great, the ambience is modern and clean. I will definitely be hitting this place up again and again.

Husband and I arrived on a Saturday for date night because we were craving some pasta. It was quite packed but we were seated in about 15-20 minutes without a reservation. Even though it was quite busy, I was still able to have a conservation with my husband throughout dinner. The music wasn't too loud and service was great. Next to the bar, there are TVs playing sports. We ordered drinks and two orders of their angel hair pasta, one with sausage. The protein did cost extra. I love my drinks on the sweeter side so the black cherry mule was perfect! The angel hair pasta did come out a bit clumped together but it was still tasty. We skipped dessert but will return to try it next time. Overall the experience was pleasant and food was good and filling.

Very modern and super noisy! Very busy. Four of us went on a Friday with 5:30 reservations and still had to wait 10-15 minutes to get seated. Our server Natalie was amazing. Not only did she answer all our questions but made sure we knew that the appetizers were discounted for Happy Hour. Yes even on a Friday night! We ordered assorted bruschetta, Margherita Rustica, the Charcuterie board, meatballs and Lasagna. Everything was delicious and we shared among us and all agreed this is one of our new favorites. And did I mention Natalie was amazing. We will be back.

The bartender, Brittany, makes ths Best Old Fashioned! Very highly recommend going here for her drinks. And of course the pizza!

I can now say I am a regular here. I must be at this place 4 to 6 times a month. The food is top notch, service is always great, and even when it's busy my wife and I can find two spots at the bar. Our go to's are the lemoncello spirits, ask them to slap a little basil in it to take it up a notch, the calamari, the bacon wrapped shrimp and the garlic knots. The pizza is great, I prefer the NY style over the rustic, but that just personal preference. They also have great lunch options and the portions are generous. Manga!

First of all, the food is amazing but our overall experience was not so amazing. We came here on a Friday night, just before 5:30 and expected to wait...no big deal. The hostess told us it would be about a 30 minute wait, again, doable. You're able to track yourself on the waitlist and we moved up relatively quickly. We got to 45 minutes and then to an hour, and we were #1 We remained #1 for another half an hour. I understand that it was busy, they had reservations, etc, but I feel the staff needs a little more training on estimating times...an hour and half wait, when you're expecting 30 minutes is a little much.

We stopped in around 8pm on a Saturday night and the staff sat us right away and the was happy to have us. The sever was fast and kept checking on our party of 6 and even fixed their soda machine was one of the party guest soda was not tastings right she fixed asap. The drinks were very good and fancy and the food was very large portions and very good! We realized when we were done it was already closing time at 10pm and did not feel like they were trying to push us out. We were very happy with the service and will be back again

First time here and I loved everything!!! The roasted mussels were amazing. I really enjoyed my warm arugula salad (maybe a little heavy on the dressing but I had them hold the croutons so that might be why), and the star of the night was Gelato D'Oro! OMGOSH Our server was a little stressed because they gave her 3 tables at the same time, but there was other staff helping her so we felt very well taken care of. We will be back, there's so much still to try.

We have been to Crust Simply twice, once for their food and drinks, and the other time for their board and bottle deal. When we first came to this place, there was a long wait ahead of us unless we sat at the patio. It was sometime in January, and we thought it'd be fine if we asked them to turn on the heater but it was actually really cold that day. We ordered a calamari and a personal-size pizza. The pizza was huge and tasty, definitely with good value. The calamari was fresh and had my preferred style of battery. I had one of their signature cocktails, which was a riff of a classic cocktail old fashioned. The drink was a bit too weak for me, but the taste was good. Overall we liked the dining experience minus the fact that we sat in the cold. We heard there was a speakeasy next to this restaurant so we went to check out the speakeasy next. The second time that we came here was for the board and bottle deal. We had a bottle of dry red wine and three different kinds of bruschettas. The bread was just okay but it paired well with the wine. The wine that was included in this deal was on the cheaper end of their selection. But with this price, it was worth it for a date night.

The happy hour, the people and the atmosphere is amazing! My friend and I call it "Our place " it's where we ALWAYS meet to catch up!!!!

Sneaky bait and switch. Ordered a bottle of wine that is $48 ($20 at Fry's). Got presented with a lesser bottle of the same type but not the one on the menu ($15 at Fry's). asked about it and was told thaleybwere substituting at the same price. Then had them come over with the right bottle that they "found" in the back. Trying to give us a lesser bottle for the same price. I'd be ok with twice the price but three times the price and a lesser bottle is crazy.

we decided to go here on valentine's day and do takeout since we never tried this place yet. food was prompt and ready at the time we picked for pick-up. the gal that helped us was very friendly and nice. the place was poppin inside and they were busy indeed! if you do decide to dine-in, there's a good amount of seating inside as well as a nice patio outside. as for the food, we ordered chicken parmesan (was okay, not the best thing), meat calzone (amazing, highly recommend), and pappardelle bolognese (also amazing and highly recommend). overall, this place is great and we would come back again!
