"The Crux Fermentation Project is housed in an old transmission repair plant at the end of a back street near the Old Mill district. Visitors can grab a pint and some pub grub inside the glowing copper taproom or hang out on the park-like lawn with yard games for adults and kids and fire pits. While the Crux kitchen has beer-inspired food, the food trucks are top-notch, including Bend’s fried chicken from Tin Pig, fresh Mexican food at El Sancho, Blind Tiger Pizza, and the new Salt and Surf New England Coastal Grub with authentic creamy yet light clam chowder or New England soft-shell steamer clams. During the daily “sundowner hour,” breathtaking views of the Cascade Mountains come with discounts on 20-plus taps." - Barb Gonzalez, Jeffrey Stull

Google
Wonderful brewery with a wide variety of great beers and styles on tap, plus special bottle pours like tough love or banshee series (all excellent). Cans and bottles for sale. Great atmosphere, plenty of indoor seating and large outdoor patio seating with a great view of the mountains, plus a fire pit. Taco truck food was just ok, wished I had ordered food from Crux , the pizza cart was closed when visiting. Friendly and knowledgeable bar service, tasters as well. plenty of parking. Trivia night seemed pretty popular. Worth visiting if you like/love beer.

Google
Great place with ample seating and parking. We got a few beers, crux capacitor, bolchi bolchi and glow stick. The bolchi bolchi is very light and fresh. Loved it. They had a bunch of food trucks outside so we got some food and the outdoors was pretty chill.

Cameron

Google
Beer is fantastic. Food quality depends on the trucks there. Tacos were good. Pizza was fine but took over 1 hr. Grill food was basic at best (mainly for kids)

Google
We had a great time at Crux! The staff was incredibly kind and welcoming—not just to us, but also to our pup, which we really appreciated. The beer selection was excellent, and everything we tried was delicious. They also offer a great variety of food options that were both tasty and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a drink. Highly recommend checking them out!

Google
Always a highlight when we get to the area. The (hot) Italian calls me from home. HQ recommends the SW Chicken Salad. Great vibe. Super interesting menu of libations & chow. Staff always friendly & the place spotless. Kids have a blast outside from where the view of 3 Sis & Bachelor is as tantalizing as the Italian sub.

Google
Great place to hang out and have some beer or their cocktail fizz. I tried their gin strawberry rhubarb and was great. Lots of great food options.

Stephanie

Google
This was the most fun, kid friendly experience I've had in a long time. They have a huge yard, and kids were playing pickup football. The Belgian beers were delicious. The pizza food truck was reasonably priced and great. There were tons of kids. Almost every table had two or three. If you don't like kids, go somewhere else because this seems to be the family Friday night bar in Bend.

Rick Schwartz

Google
One of the best beer tasting rooms in Bend. Lots of indoor seating and a huge outdoor seating area. Great selection of draft beers in all styles. Lots of affordable cans to-go. Several food trucks and a restaurant inside.

Leslie D.

Yelp
The foods beverages were great. The service was great and the staff were friendly attentive. There's lots of space for families and friends. The ambiance is nice.

Taylor D.

Yelp
The food and drinks are always amazing! Plus their set up is laid back and nice. The staff are always friendly and very prompt regardless of how busy they are. This is one of my favorite spots to visit when going through bend!

Drew H.

Yelp
This restaurant space is huge, especially outside with the fire pits and the food carts. We sat at the bar. Service was fantastic. We did a tasting flight with additional tasters. We didn't have one bad beer. All were good. Got the pretzel and the cheese sauce was zingy and good. Overall nice experience.

Yelp
Besides gorgeous mountain views, Bend has a ton of amazing beer. My first visit here I missed quite a few of the favorites, and since trying a few canned selections from Crux and hearing people say it was their favorite, I made an effort to make it the first stop. Just off the highway and close to downtown, Crux Fermentation Project has a stellar reputation for great beer. They have a lot of dedicated parking in an area that doesn't seem to have much else. We visited on a holiday so it was extra busy, but the bartenders and servers were so fast and efficient it didn't matter. They have a large outdoor area with tables and fire pits, plus indoor tables. The main bar area snakes through the merchandise section, with multiple menus above the cashiers. You can order food and drinks here. They also have a dedicated side ordering area just for drinks that it seemed like more people were using. A few friends ate various foods and everyone loved what they had. I had two flights of different beers, trying some new ones and ones I've already had but fresh on tap. Their beer is excellent. The brewing facility is large and beautiful, be sure to check out the back areas. Thank you to the bartender for doing a sticker swap; this is a must visit for any beer fan visiting the area.

Kathleen W.

Yelp
My SO is huge on beer and breweries so when we came here, he got a delicious flight and an even better 6 pack of nonalcoholic beer to go ~ I love the creativity of the flight stands too. Easily one of our favorite breweries in Bend.

Jonathan S.

Yelp
To me, Crux is perfection. There's nothing like driving or ubering along the backroads that deliver you under the highway, before passing the "no outlet" sign that turns you immediately into the Crux parking areas. Then, finally, beer lovers can rejoice that they made it. You'll enter through the main doorway just in front of the smaller front parking lot and then turn left to begin your stay with the bartenders manning the first large pouring area. I had been here once prior, so it was a joy to return in winter. We made our way through the line and were helped by two servers who designed our flights for us. We were impressed with the metal work inside, and then the flight holder was presented, we were glad to see such an interesting metal design there, too. I cannot recall exactly what I ordered, which is a good thing. I LOVED the unique cherry blossom beer and was bummed to learn that it was not available in cans since it was a special release. If you dine here and they still have it, buy some to drink! You will not regret it! We chose to sit outside by the lively firepit and were lucky to get a bench that would fit our flights and our bums. This is a very social area, so come with energy and the desire for small talk. We were grateful to learn a few impressive things to do in Bend from locals, so thank you to everyone who we spent time with! We especially loved our dog friends, Autumn and her sister! We understand the tacos at the on-site food cart are great, too.

Yelp
Great brewery! Unique flavors infused into the beers and easy tasting. Building is large and friendly to have a big group gathering. We did not have any food. Outside yard was open to lots of activities. Would be a great place to go in the summer to enjoy all of what they have to offer!!

Cheryl B.

Yelp
A fun and unique place to enjoy a win derrumbe view while drinking some beer and eating some food, including food trucks in the yard.

Aubrey U.

Yelp
Beautiful location with a well thought out food truck park attached. The fermentory offers some food options, but the additional trucks outside help to add to the variety. We came here on a weekday afternoon and it wasn't too busy, but with the amount of tables they had outside, I'd guess they get pretty full.

Caryn W.

Yelp
Wonderful family place! Dogs are welcome outside. The brewery has a menu with salads, sandwiches and more. Outside has 3 food trucks offering foods not sold inside by the brewery. There is a large variety of lower, mostly 5% alcohol, beers. To round out their drink menu, they have some cocktails and wine. TONS of seating outside. Well maintained environment. Service was great. We ordered the Caesar salad with chicken from the brewery. It was only OK. The chicken was very much over cooked. From a food truck we ordered a burger with blue cheese. Lots of misses with the burger including that it just totally fell apart. The tomato slice was much too thick, onion slices too thick and bun so soft it was just a mess. The meat tasted great! Even with the food "misses", 4 stars overall since there is so much greatness.

Lori S.

Yelp
Love hanging at this location, preferable outside by the fire pit. Good food but wish there were more options, however the food trucks outside help broaden the menu options. Love the Crux swag and rose wine option as well. All their employees are super chill and friendly and add to us loving to stop by. Mondays have family games as well you can play at your table. My favorite first stop when we visit in Bend. Hand down.

Corynn B.

Yelp
I ate truly one of my favorite veggie burgers at this brewery when visiting a few weeks ago! This is a cool spot, they have a huge indoor seating area and a massive outdoor seating area. When we went it was on a weekend and they had a bunch of food trucks out back that you could order food from. They stop serving food at 9pm, and we luckily go here in time to order food. You order your drinks and food at the counter and they bring it out to you. We each got flights of beers and got to sample four different beers. My personal favorite that I sampled was the Bochi Bochi, which was a Japanese rice style lager. It's not my typical beer that I like, so I wasn't anticipating to like it as much as I did! I tried their sore, cider, and hefeweisen as well but didn't personally particularly love any of the other beers I sampled. They have a really wide selection of beers here, and they will likely have something that everyone will enjoy! The veggie burger was literally so good. It had pimento cheese on it and came with chips, it was so simple and so yummy. Overall, a great vibe and a cool place to hang out. I love being in places where so many different types of people are hanging out. A cool spot!

Jessica S.

Yelp
Food trucks are my favorite. I like the big open space and casual atmosphere. The beverages are great. The inside menu isn't my favorite.

Marissa D.

Yelp
Very spacious place with food trucks and outdoor seating out back. Dog friendly. Food was so good and we got a flight of very unique and testy beers.

Laney M.

Yelp
Crux has an awesome vibe, ample family style indoor seating with a few four top tables here and there as well. Outdoor seating is prevalent with picnic tables throughout what i would guess is an acre or two of space. Three food trucks in the back, mexican, bbq, and pizza (the three pillars of food you'd want with beer), i've snacked at all of them, they're all totally worth a try. Some covered seating in the back as well if you're not feeling the sun (or sometimes rain). Now the important part-- the beer. As an IPA lover, they've hit the mark every time i've gone, as well as having epic stouts and a curious sour or two. With the rotating draft menu, it offers a lot of opportunity for exploration with their beers, none which have disappointed. Staff was friendly, ambiance was casual and fun, a great spot to grab a post hike beer.

Amanda Q.

Yelp
This brewery was recommended by my friend and I am very glad we came here. Every one who worked there was friendly and the vibe is completely welcoming from every one. There is a good beer selection, I ordered their Italian sandwich which was AMAZING!

kiathompson85 ..

Yelp
Visited for the first time! The line for drinks was quite long but it went fast with lots of staff ready to take orders. The outdoor patio is very large with lots of seating and yard area. When I arrived there was not one open seat. Thankfully someone left and I snagged a table. Staff was friendly and the pizza and drink tasted great. Be prepared for lots of people and to wait for a table. Super dog friendly I saw about 10 dogs outside while I was there.

Joshua B.

Yelp
Solid place to get a drink and some food. The major con being it's really busy, rowdy and dirty!

Jason C.

Yelp
Great beers, venue, and food. Glad to see they're doing their own food in addition to food trucks on site. We had the roasted beet salad as a wrap. Damn, killer fresh with great flavors and that maple Dijon vinaigrette... ooohhh weee! I'm no vegan/vegetarian but I'd have that again in a heartbeet. Grabbed a flight to try a few new flavors... all were epic but Half Hitch still my FAV. Loved the Cornhole outside to play, fire pit, food trucks and a good time for all.

Benjamin F.

Yelp
Stopped by and had a quick flight here. All very good, great service and personable bartender, nice open environment with lots of seating and food trucks. Definitely will swing by again next time we are in Bend

Jodi H.

Yelp
When you go to Bend, everybody knows that Crux is the brewery to check out. It really gives "the spot" vibes. They have SO much space, kid and dog-friendly (seriously feels like you're at a festival green), food truck options galore, and tasty tasty beers. Met up with my friend for some sunset beers, and we loved that our dogs had such a fun time too. Parking wasn't bad, since we found spots around the back. Most people parked on the street, so guaranteed you will have to search for a spot if you are here during peak hours. I loved seeing lots of variety for beer options, and couldn't decide...so I went with their tasters. I got two hazy IPA's and two other standard IPAs. I forget the names, but I liked their hazies a lot, super juicy and flavorful. The ordering process is pretty easy, and LOVE that their menu is easy to read especially if you're waiting in line. We wandered outside to the outdoor area which honestly felt like we were walking into a festival. So many people were lounging on their picnic towels on the green area, but it's definitely at your own risk...there are so many dogs here...so you might be sitting in pee. There were a few picnic tables empty, but the ones by the food trucks were really bugged by flies. We later moved to another picnic table along the perimeter of the fencing and loved the front and center view of the sunset. It's such an easygoing spot great for people-watching. Would 100% go back just for the vibes.

Christie B.

Yelp
Fantastic place to bring the entire family! Kids love running around playing and the parents enjoy time outdoors. They serve many varieties of beer and three kinds of wine. I wish the wine list was more extensive but it is a beer garden. Their pretzels are delicious with the cheese sauce! The sunsets are spectacular. If you want a fun experience for the whole family this is your venue.

Danielle N.

Yelp
Beer was good! Good ambiance inside. Lots of space. Kind of a weird spot in town but great building once you get there.

Cat M.

Yelp
We had been driving for awhile and our first stop when getting to Bend was Crux. I really liked the atmosphere here. The inside was clean and pretty on brand for a craft brewery but the big yard outside is a fun addition. There's a lot going on here! There's cornhole sets on the lawn, lots of picnic tables and even some additional food and drink options. Inside, you can sample Crux's impressive beer list and choose from a lot of tasty options on their house menu. We ate our food so fast that I didn't even get pictures! My husband said his Cubano sandwich was one of the best he's ever had (which is saying something). I loved my salad and all our beers were awesome. This place caters to a wide variety of customers and tastes. We had heard it was an awesome spot and I am glad to confirm that it's true. I look forward to going back next time we are in town!

Sydney T.

Yelp
Wide selection of beer and nice outdoor seating area. I've been looking for good non alcoholic beers for the past year and tried Crux's No Mo Strata Gold. It's one of my favorites so I decided to visit Crux. They only had the non alcoholic IPA on tap, which had a very light flavor profile. I wasn't a fan compared to the Strata Gold. Still giving this place 4/5 stars for ambiance, service, and the non alcoholic option. Huge space, great for large parties, and a couple options for food. They have 4 food trucks that sit outside. Be aware that not all the food trucks are open every day.

Sue B.

Yelp
Great beer selection. Love the outdoor fire place and the friendliness of the staff. Did try the food maybe next time.

David R.

Yelp
Good variety of very high quality beers. Definitely a MUST TRY if you're doing the Bend, Oregon beer scene!

Jessica N.

Yelp
Great craft beer. Lots of hazy and sour options. Huge outdoor patio with fire pits, corn hole, and a few food carts. Kid friendly and dog friendly.

Dani N.

Yelp
Great mountain views and tons of room for kids to run around and play outside. They have cornhole and three food trucks, plus a food menu you can order from inside. There's indoor and outdoor seating and they have highchairs. The prices are what I would consider high but decent beers and the black bean burger was filling. Love their branding and would come back for the outdoor seating/views alone.

Chris L.

Yelp
Was driving through and decided to stop by for a beer around happy hour. It was a great experience. Lots of beer on tap, and we sat outside for some great ambiance. I'd definitely come back again.

Brit A.

Yelp
Came here to hangout and so glad we did! The brewery isn't in the heart of the town which was kind of nice. There was a lot of seating indoors and outdoors. At times it almost seemed like a dog and baby park (all contained of course) because there were so many! The brewery had cornhole and 1-2 food trucks on site. It was a great atmosphere! The parking was alright. It was pretty crowded so took us a while to find a spot but it didn't take long. Parking is free as well. Oh! And the beer! The beer was delish!

Melanie N.

Yelp
Had family visiting from Chicago and brought them here. We chose here for the views, beer, vibe, and food trucks. We all enjoyed some beer, I had the Tangy Boomerang, a creamsicle sour, so good! The kids loved playing cornhole and found other kids to join them. Definitely a great choice!

Mike M.

Yelp
Visited the brewery and bar as part of my "Bend Ale Trail" adventure. I chose a light beer - it was great. The staff weee fantastic. I was there late on a Monday so the place was quiet but it appears to have lots of space for large groups and busy weekends.

April E.

Yelp
The food was ok. Aside from beer, their selection of fermented alcohol is very, very limited. Only 1 hard cider available and not my taste. Do not go expecting to get any drinks but beer. It's very crowded, and very loud, even on a Thursday. Can't really rate the service, you go up to the counter to order, then you go up again when they text you that your food is ready. Then you bus your own table. Meh.

Xoxi M.

Yelp
Food is hit or miss and limited for the vegan. Beer is great. Ambiance is really where it's at. My mom tripped and fell and hurt her knee and shoulder on some netting that is coming up from the ground. The guy said several ppl had tripped on it. That's what made us really upset. That others had fallen but there were no cones or caution tape or anything.

Alexander R.

Yelp
Recommended by a friend as his favorite local brewery in Bend. Did not disappoint. The IPA and Pilsner were both excellent. Nice open space, service was prompt and pleasant.

Mark T.

Yelp
Exceptional beers coupled with deeply disappointing and overpriced food. Beans and meat are premixed so you can't get vegetarian nachos -may have been the worst margarita pizza and caprese salad I've ever eaten. The margarita pizza could have been the result of a failed high school science club experiment - roughly the correct ingredients but the result is...truly awful.

Lyndi R.

Yelp
Crux is always ALWAYS a must visit when you're in Bend, Oregon. Stellar beer matched with good food, vibes, and a laidback but cool ambiance makes this place stand out amongst the seemingly endless beer options. There's a reason why they've won so many awards for their beers. They. Are. DELICIOUS! From IPA to stout Crux crushes it every single time.

Michael K.

Yelp
My wife and I were looking for pizza and a beer this evening as we were passing through Bend en tour to Crater Lake. Crux popped up to the top of our list and I can see why after visiting. Arriving before 530pm, we found one of the last free parking spots. Upon leaving there were several cars ready to pounce on any open space. One first orders their beer inside the main building. They were super friendly and helpful wading through all the choices. So many IPAs and not enough time in the day. My wife found a beer to her liking and we headed out to their yard to order a pizza from one of the food trucks. Besides pizza there was another truck offering Mexican food. Outside there are numerous picnic tables as well as a large grassy area that people were sitting/laying on and enjoying the weather and their drinks. We snagged a table under a tent with a view of the mountains. Others had brought their kids and dogs. Our margherita pizza was delicious and a good size to share between us. Along with our great beers, it was a good dinner out.

Brian E.

Yelp
I had a short stay in Bend and visited five or six breweries while I was there. All were very highly rated, but I found them to be underwhelming on the whole. The beers weren't bad; they were just eminently forgettable. Their high ratings on Untappd felt to me like grade inflation. Crux Fermentation was the exception to the rule. Their beers were amazing. Each one felt like either a perfect example of its style, or something I'd never had before. They are truly a brewery doing great things. The beautiful outdoor seating area and delicious food truck options just felt like icing on the cake. Crux Fermentation: go for the beer, stay for everything else they're doing right.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
Awesome spot to hang out! They have a big outdoor seating area - lots of folks, families, food, and easygoing vibes. We loved it. Ordered a flight at the bar and went back for more! Their IPAs are really good, but the less hoppy beer options were also great. There are some food stands on site as well, so we were able to make a meal out of it and chill for a while enjoying the sunset. Tacos were pretty good! Lots of Crux merch if you're a fan. I saw plenty of people buying hats and shirts, picked up a sticker for myself.

Aaron C.

Yelp
Nice location. Great seating in and around. Beer selection was outstanding. Servers were helpful and friendly. Cool bathrooms.

Ken L.

Yelp
My wife and I prefer dark beers. Crux has an extensive selection. We tried several beers and all were excellent! Highly recommend this brewery.

Lauren M.

Yelp
Great beer and wonderful view! Outside has food carts and some outdoor games. Easy to park and the staff was friendly!

Ruby B.

Yelp
Another fun discovery while visiting Bend for the first time. Crux is the anchor bar and restaurant combined with a variety of about 6 food trucks on a grassy park-like setting. Lots of food choices because of the number of food trucks. We ordered the double pretzel dish and Mac and cheese from Crux and a couple of specialty ciders. The pretzels were slightly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside--perfectly made. The cheese sauce that came with it was so delicious and full of flavor. The mustard sauce was a bit stronger and spicier. The Mac and cheese had penne noodles with creamy cheese. It too was so tasty. The ciders were a hit as well. It's a great venue for sharing a fun evening with friends and family. There were lots of dogs there too. Great place for a casual dinner or a snack!

Amanda S.

Yelp
No vibe :-( sad lazy nachos, cold with unmelted cheese, old dry chicken and no real flavor. Beer and cider were good. Options for kids and non drinkers were thoroughly disappointing. I guess I'd rather enjoy their beer from home or a restaurant with better food options. Will not plan to visit in person again.

Keizzel C.

Yelp
We came to Crux as a recommendation from a friend when visiting the area and I'm so glad we made time to check it out! They have such a beautiful indoor space with garage doors and an outdoor space with food carts that make it a wonderful space to come solo or come with a group and your pups. Parking wasn't too crazy for us and they do seem like they have an overflow lot and some street parking. Crux is a little farther from the main area so it offers some privacy which is nice but a little industrial otherwise. Ordered a flight here for our first time and really enjoyed the kolsh they had. The bubble wrap was sooo good as well! We didn't know they had food carts so we ended up ordering from the menu at the front which included pizzas and flatbreads (would recommend either option!). When we ventured outside that's where we saw the acai bowls, burgers, and tacos. We ended up getting a kobe/bacon burger at one of the carts as well and that hit the spot with the pizza and flatbreads to share. Not all carts were open but they had most which was nice on a sunny day. Again, depending if you want to enjoy at one of their communal or bar seats indoors or outside under their covered tables or their lawn I'm sure you'll have a great time and not feel cramped with other groups!

Y A.

Yelp
Great selection of beers. Away from most businesses because it's next to the freeway but the big open grass, picnic tables, corn hole, and food trucks help you forget. Also, if you have a big vehicle (campers, trailers) there's a lot of street parking. Kid me dog friendly! Their sour was delicious, perfect for a sunny day! The Island Pilsner was good too! Next time we want to try a flight. They have tons of great merch with their amazing Crux logo! For our early afternoon we decided just to snack on shaved ice- $4.50 for 3 flavors! Cooled us down from our bike ride!

Erin P.

Yelp
The beers fine-ish but dont expect to go and not be completely harrassed by running and screaming kids the entire time. This is more of a pre school that has beers for parents to drink while theyre ignoring their children. If this place had adults only hours or days I would go then, but its such a terrible environment I cant bring myself to spend my Money here.
