Restaurant appeared clean although it had an old musty smell when I entered through the first door. The Women who helped me was very nice. The food was very good. Edit Aug 2024 Under new ownership. I probably won't order here again.

A quaint little restaurant on the corner next to the gas station. You’d never know how amazing the food is here if you didn’t pop in for a quick bite. We definitely took our time enjoying the deliciously cooked food here and they were very friendly with quick service. I’d like to point out the authenticity and the Taiwanese style based cooking they use (in some dishes) which is something I always look out for. Its similar to my grandparents cooking which is in my book very high praise! It’s really hard to find food cooked this well and it didn’t feel too heavy or oily. I’ve been here a few times and the consistency has never changed nor disappointed me. This is one of my top picks for local Chinese/Taiwanese style cooked food.

Google
Accessible, but didn't check the bathrooms. The food was hot, fresh, authentic, and delicious! Staff are very kind and easy to work with. Our glasses were kept full, food came out as it was ready rather than sitting until it all came out at once to get cold. The ambience and music were relaxing and enjoyable for a late night dinner. Can't wait to enjoy it again!

Google
This place serves their food hot! One of the best Chinese food there is. The place is what you’ll expect in a traditional chinese restaurant. Service was fast. Food serving is spot on. Will be back for sure! Big, comfortable washroom too.

Yelp
Hands down the fastest service I have ever experienced. All the food came out in less than 10 minutes. We chose this place cause it was open late and we were not disappointed. The food was perfectly seasoned and so delicious. Highly recommend if you're needing some late night eats!!

Yelp
This is a small but charming restaurant next to a gas station before you turn on main. I tried it with one of my friends on the esy to a screening at Dibson Amherst. You use a QR code to order. I ordered a lychee slush and my son had an oreo cream frappe. The machine that makes them must be slow because it took awhile to get our drinks. Our entrees came out soon after. My son enjoyed his General Tsos, but prefered the takeout from our neighborhood place. My sesame chicken was good if a little overcooked. Rhe restaurant is clean with lovely decor. Service is friendly. Worth checking out if you are in the area.

Yelp
Delicious food beautiful customer service and I think this is the cleanest Asian restaurant I've been into and by the way they're my neighbours I am the owner of the Marathon Gas Station next to them.

Yelp
Talapia Szechuan Style - fresh, tender, and juicy tilapia that absorbed flavors of the rich, vibrant sauce made from Szechuan peppercorns, dried red chillies, chili oil, and ginger. served with vegetables well-coated with the sauce, too well-coated for me because the sauce is spicy. fish is a bit bland but that might just be the sauce's numbing effect! :D this pairs great with white rice, I would definitely recommend this! Beef Chow Ho Fun - decent portion of thinly sliced tender beef. slightly chewy and well-separated wide rice noodles that absorbed the flavors of the savory sauce well. however, sauce is a bit too salty for me. bean sprouts, scallions, and onions were lightly cooked so they retained their crunchiness, complement the noodles/meat well and helped to cut back the sauce's saltines. Basil clams - clams were fresh and cooked perfectly, with a nice, tender texture. basil added a wonderful aroma and flavor and complemented the dish well. however, sauce is a bit too salty for my taste. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for a slightly saltier flavor. might be better paired with white rice. Wonton soup - wonton wrappers were too thick, making them heavy. meat filling was a bit bland and not that juicy. broth itself tasted like regular chicken soup. quite underwhelming but ok for a hot soup on a cold rainy day. Pork siu mai - came as 4 pieces, each super small. filling was a bit lacking, a mix of vegetables and lean meat, kind of bland and not as juicy as I would liked. tasted like those frozen siu mai I would buy from the Asian supermarket. Hargow - came as 4 pieces. dumpling skin was on the thicker side and slightly translucent. shrimp filling was fresh and flavorful, with a nice, juicy texture and strong sesame flavor. overall, a solid choice for hargow and would recommend giving it a try. Restaurant is very clean and spacious with lots of seatings, they even have a separate room for private events! Service is quick and friendly. Free and easy parking available.

Yelp
Me and my friend purchased 60$ worth of food from here last night, to our disappointment our online orders took 40 minutes to be fulfilled, and the food was subpar to say the least. My orange chicken was so sour it was inedible, rice dry and bland, low mein was flavorless cardboard, sweet and sour chicken sauce watery and bland, and egg rolls lukewarm and contained pork and egg but somehow lacked any taste. The staff was friendly and the restaurant had a good vibe. But the food is truly awful and i will not be returning.

Yelp
One of my two favorite local Chinese places for takeout (and dine-in). There are not fearful of using Szechuan peppercorns for their authentic Southern Chinese foods. There are Americanized expected dishes on the menu, but I have never tried them. The people are very friendly, hoping make this a small business I love supporting

Yelp
Food was really good and authentic, Szechuan style, spicy and the service was amazing

Yelp
Picked up sweet and sour chicken and the chicken was rock hard and dried and not one vegetable included. Basically fried chicken nugget of poor quality and bowl of sweet red sauce. Please try harder to serve your customers a real meal!

Yelp
Came in for dine in so we could try the dim sum selections. Had shrimp and pork dumplings, the juicy pork dumplings, scallion pancake, egg tart. Everything was delicious and came out quickly.

Yelp
Grabbed takeout here recently and ordered the general tsao. Was expecting the usual (breaded/fried) chicken but it was un-breaded/sautéed chicken. I wasn't hating, bit of a healthier option. Food was made quick, piping hot and friendly service. Very inexpensive and allot of food.

Vic B.

Yelp
Ordered thru Uber, food was burnt, wontons, apple pie logs were Stale and chewy/ gummy, falsely advertised Aloe juice and wings were old and refried no Korean flavor and very bland tasting. Order was somehow non-refundable and no one returned my call. Photos posted on FB, X, Instagram. Do not recommend, especially thru Uber

Yelp
I honestly forgot how good this was place!! I used to come here pretty often when I lived in the area. Ordered the preserved egg congee, chicken with eggplant, and beef chow ho fun. The congee definitely hit the spot but was not nearly as good as the ones I've had in the city. I feel that it was a bit lacking in the preserved egg. The chicken with eggplant was the best dish out of the three! The chicken was juicy and tender and the eggplant wasn't soggy at all. In addition, I felt the sauce was just right and not too salty. I don't eat beef but I did try the noodles and they were great! Overall, I would come back and try other options. Is it located right off of Millersport Highway next to a gas station. The waitress was also pleasant and came around often to make sure we were okay.

Yelp
Ordering through their website is easy and the food was ready in 30 minutes. I got the vegetable udon which was flavorful and a lot of food. I really enjoyed it, and I plan to order here again soon.

Yelp
My son wanted to try some dim sum and he took me to lunch and we went to this new Asian restaurant that he had found on Yelp and the service was great we were seated at a table and a waitress brought over a pot of hot tea and the tea was delicious and also she brought over some noodles and some sauce as an appetizer and that was also good, my son did the ordering and he ordered the pork Siu m mai, spare ribs, l chicken feet, egg custard bun, scallion pancakes, and beef tripe and everything was delicious and it was nice and hot I really enjoyed the different sauces that came on the different dim sum, this was a great experience and my first time going to this restaurant and trying something new. I looked over the extensive menu and I plan on going back and try some of the other food. This is a nice clean quaint restaurant. I really enjoyed trying something new along with the great service. This place is a hidden gem.

Yelp
I am a Chinese. This restaurant's dishes are authentic Chinese cuisine . They were excellent ! During my first visit, I asked for a recommendation. Owner recommended the Shrimps with Garlic in HK Style. Loved it! Two days later, I visited again. This time owner recommended Sizzling Beef which was delicious ! The restaurant was clean and service was prompt and friendly !!

Yelp
My new favorite place. Good service . Great food. Late hours. Their basil clams can change your life

Yelp
Pre-COVID, this was my fave go-to Chinese restaurant. The menu included dim sum, you could order by IPAD and pick-up service was very easy through Yelp. Sadly, since COVID, they've changed their menu, hours and convenience. They are no longer a Cantonese menu - it's more of the same Northern food. No more dim sum. Other fave dishes dropped. But the toughest challenge to support local restaurants is that Crystal isn't consistent with their opening hours. I've placed many orders via Yelp to be able to pick up my dinner after work, only to find that the restaurant is closed and I have to contact Yelp/GrubHub to get my refund. Not very convenient when you can't order online. They should drop the online ordering so that people have to call in to see if anyone is there. I personally prefer restaurants that handle online ordering since I can browse a menu and decide the time when I'd like to pick up my meal.

Yelp
Tasty! Although dim sum is only served on the weekends and I haven't tried it, I did taste through a few items on their regular menu yesterday: - The brocolli with jumbo shrimp in the creamy sauce: tasty! Broccoli was fresh and crisp, not overcooked or soggy and the shrimp was cooked well. - Spicy boiled fish - tasty in a large hotpot style. Spicy and bold, a little oversalted for my personal taste, but fish was nice white meat. - Fish w/ginger & scallion: simple, but delicious whole baked fish with some fresh ginger. Spiced well; a tasty and fresh fish! Service was okay, although waters weren't constantly refilled and it could have used a tad more attention. Their dim sum isn't 100% made in house either, but that's not to stop me for wanting to try it. Curious about the rest of the menu! Crystal Asian Cuisine is one of those places that would be nice for a date, it's not too formal, pricy or assuming -- you can feel comfortable in jeans or good to dress up (just don't splash the oil!).

Yelp
"This is the most authentic Chinese food in Buffalo." Now that's what I call a heavy dose of illegal "Crystal Myth." Here's the thing: there are authentic dishes here. They are very authentic and they are delicious. And if you've never had authentic Chinese food before, it will feel like the earth moved and the angels wept. But guess what? There is a restaurant nearby in Kenmore (Home Taste) which serves *no* Americanized food and 100% Chinese. Then there's Peking Quick One, which is even better than the Kenmore place, which has perfected a lot of the Americanized dishes, but has a large, amazing, authentic Chinese menu and is - in my opinion - the best Authentic Chinese Menu in town, and maybe anywhere. Then there's Gin Gin and China King (Maple) which both have fantastic authentic Chinese menus to go with their American. CK has 60 or so items on it. Gin Gin has more like 100. What to get: Spicy Chicken w/ Fresh Peppers. Why: It's bloody brilliant. And actually Chinese. So yes. This is not the most authentic. The authentic dishes here (and plenty are not) are as authentic, equally authentic, to all the others I mentioned. Now that we got that out of the way... by the way... this is a 5 star restaurant! Like Zhenni I am also upset that there is never anybody here. Luckily a lot of college kids get deliveries and to go, which is how they stay in business. They have such lovely decor, it's such a sweet place. Like Samantha, I think the food here is amazing and delicious and decent value. Unlike Samantha, I do not equate that to 3 stars. :) But having tried both the American dishes and the Chinese, I will say that you should steer cleer of the American stuff. In other words, anything that you recognize from the menu of all the regular Chinese-American take out spots you grew up with... skip it. Get the stuff you have never heard of. Ask them which items are home-style (they have a whole menu section) and pick from that. It's the way to go. If you want me to choose for you then I am damn sure I know what you should get. The standout dish here is the Spicy Chicken w/Fresh Peppers. It came recommended by a friend, and was also mentioned on here. Well now it's mentioned again. One of the best authentic Chinese dishes I've had. It was so good I almost cried while eating it. That may also have been because the dominatrix I was dining with kept kicking me under the table with steel-capped boots, but trust me when I say I didn't ask her to. If you've already been here and have your opinion, but haven't tried the Spicy Chicken, make sure you do. It's that good. I get the same dish from Gin Gin and from places in NYC, and this is very comparable, if not better. And remember, if you are looking at all the glasses and trinkets they have on display while waiting... don't touch. They're like Crystal. They break easy. Don't try putting them in a new order or anything. Otherwise you'll end up with a Sumner to court, Bernard. Buffalo is very blessed for real authentic Chinese food. 4 places and counting. Stop going to the local Chinese with the typical Sweet N Soup Syrupy American crap and go try some real Chinese food! You never know... you just might like it. If you don't, it will anger both Confucius and Chairman Mao. So be f***ing careful. Am I making myself Crystal?

Yelp
This place is absolutely amazing. It's definitely a hidden gem and I'm surprised it's not more busy! I had two amazing experiences recently at this restaurant. Not only is the food amazing, you get so much more food and better quality food than your average Chinese take out restaurant. First, the ambience of this restaurant is great. They have some sweet current music and it makes the environment very fun. Second, you get to order your meal on an iPad which I thought was so neat. A recent hack I just found out from a friend was the dinner special. You get a soup, egg roll, and fried rice with your entree. Then after, they give you fortune cookies and orange slices! I was amazed how you get a balanced meal from a Chinese restaurant for $11! When I asked for a go to container, the server packed it for me! I was really impressed with the high quality service along with good food and an amazing price. I had so much food that I have enough for lunch and dinner the day after. HIGHLY recommend this place!

Yelp
Dim sum is the art of food and my favorite thing in the world! Each steamed plate takes so much effort (and sometimes exact precision) it's not one of those food you can easily replicate yourself in your kitchen - trust me, I tried!! I grew up eating pretty much the same steamers every weekend for a good part of my life in NYC, and occasionally trying something new. Although Buffalo had a number of Chinese restaurants offering dim sum on the weekends, it's just not the same. You don't find the ladies pushing the carts filled with hot steamers nor the overpacked, crowded and noisy gatherings of family enjoying brunch together while sharing stories of what's new with each other. I've learned to adapt to the "non traditional" dim sum style, and look only for the food to taste good. One big plus of not having the cart ladies is all your food comes out hot, and the fact that you know up front everything you're ordering instead of anticipating what may or may not be in those hot carts. I'm not fond of Buffalo's dim sum and rarely visit the restaurants that do offer it on the weekend. However, I was intrigued to find a new spot that offers it, and without high hopes decided to give it a shot. Going with ny family we stopped by just a little after 11:30 (when they open). The server was just flipping the sign to "open" and he said the floor was just mopped in the foyer. Even though I acknowledged it he still held onto to my little kiddos hand as we walked in - that was nice of him. The seating area is divided in two by a great wall (hahah) with the booths on the left: chairs and table in the right. After we were seated our order was placed via choosing the items on an iPad. It showed the number of plates orders as well as the subtotal on top - talk about convenience and efficiency! We ordered the following items: - har kow - siu mai - chicken feet - steam roast pork buns -scallion pancakes - turnip cake - beef tripe We also ordered the sticky rice in lotus leaf but were informed they ran out. Let me tell you I was very surprised because everything tasted good, and as close to my childhood memories as I can get 400+ miles away! It's not an exact replica, I'll leave a comment comparison on my pictures, but it's pretty darn close and tasty. What's even more surprising is the restaurant is not run by Chinese people -insert shocked face emoji-! We sat close by to the kitchen and I heard the server and other staff members talking and it was neither Mandarin or Cantonese. I asked what language he spoke when our food was served and he said they are Burmese... mind blowing for me how another nationality is able to replicate this Canton cuisine from Guangdong!! Oh the things you learn by exploring new places. If I've to eat dim sum in Buffalo Crystal Asian Cuisine is a good choice of them all.

Yelp
Full disclosure - we came here only because of Yelp reviews and feedback. Lovely interior. They have done a great job with it. Lots of tables and booths both. Comfort for all. Music playing that wasn't too loud and was really quite pleasant. I went in to do takeout. I had wanted to order ahead but struggled with finding the menu easily legible on their website. So in I went. They have a ton of menus available on the counter, and it's easy to read. There is also a board with specials posted on the counter. Check that board. We had a pineapple chicken and Szechuan beef. Both came with white rice. Generous portions of all. I didn't notice if brown was available as a sub and the guy taking my order didn't mention it. I did notice afterwards on the takeout menu that brown rice is $2.50 a pint and $4.50 a quart. Our bill was $25 and change. Not sure about the pricing. Felt a little expensive to me. That and the general disinterest of the man taking my order brought it to 4 stars, instead of the 5 I see from some other trusted Yelpers. They take all credit and parking is easy. I wish this place well. I would come back if we wanted Chinese takeout again, but Ming is closer and if I'm going to pay that much I might go there if it's open (always a question).

Bobbi S.

Yelp
Wow! The food here, especially the more "authentic" items (read that: not your typical Americanized Chinese dishes) are packed with flavor, heat, and ingredients that those more typical dishes don't highlight. Where the decor is nothing special, the service is very good and attentive. There is a party room, a drama series with Chinese subtitles, which plays on overhead TVs, portions are large, prices are moderate, and you can take your time savoring the hot chilies, the fresh ginger, the perfectly cooked whole fish, and wash it all down with a mellow Tsing Tao beer.

Yelp
Crystal Asian Cuisine seems to be one of the few Chinese places still open around the area right now. They offer delivery through Grubhub. For both of these, we're very grateful. The food still tastes very good, like it's made with care and with quality ingredients. The packaging of the food in the carryout bag also shows a lot of care. If you're craving for some Chinese food, I'd recommend giving them a try.

Mehrul Singh R.

Yelp
Ordered from Crystal after so long, I'm so happy with their food and the way they packed it. I got sesame chicken with a spring roll since I've had their garlic chicken before so decided to try this one. I gotta say I love spicy dishes so I would probably not go for sesame chicken again because it was more on the sweet side. Glad I could satisfy my Chinese food cravings, ordered through doordash. The food was steaming hot and came on time, I love their food quantity enough for day and night. Will order again and try out their other dishes.

Yelp
I'm Asian and I highly recommend this restaurant! Food is great and service is amazing. 5 stars.

Yelp
Off to an amazing start with the best crab Rangoon I've had in years, we are trying the pork and the sugar lotus simson as well as crazy spicy chicken and eggplant and garlic sauce. The spicy chicken was crispy and very delicious, the eggplant was surprisingly flavorful as well. We loved both types of simson although the lotus wrapped one came as a larger solid piece that was hard to divide with chop stick's. We will be back, new favorite Asian for 2020!
google avatar

Alice O.

Yelp
Long time customer and I don't know what happened but the food isn't as good as before. One specific thing I can point out is that the soup had way too much starch. But, the congee is better than before. It used to be really watery but now it's more congee-like.
google avatar

Zach N.

Yelp
Crab rangoon was bomb. Awesome customer service. General Tso chicken was delicious. I'll definitely return to this jaunt. Was going to save half of my meal for lunch tomorrow but I crushed everything.
google avatar

Yelp
We ordered Crystal Asian Cuisine delivery quite a few times from our house in Tonawanda. Sadly have just moved out of the delivery area, because it was always pretty tasty and a good value. There were occasional consistency issues (e.g. the crab rangoon would be crisp golden deliciousness one time, and a month or two later same thing ordered would be over-fried or soggy) but overall very good chinese. The dim sum was a nice extra when they had it, always excellent. There was also a great variety of american-chinese options and actual chinese options, so you can mix it up every time you order.

Doug W.

Yelp
Ordered chicken and garlic sauce - fantastic ! best Chinese takeout have had in a long time.

Yelp
Very fresh and delicious. Delivery is amazingly fast !!! Wow !! Crispy Wontons hhhhhhhh

Yelp
It was a real surprise. Last time I went to this place, my food experience was so bad that I sweared I would never visit this place again. But whatever, I went there with my roommate recently and the food quality has improved a lot. I had the taiwanese style chicken and the portions were so huge that it took me 3 days to finish it.
google avatar

Philip K.

Yelp
I am not sure why so many enjoy this place. We ordered out and the food was disgusting. No flavor except for chewy fatty chicken. Their version of standard american dumplings were so hard, felt like eating a rock Plus, odd packaging in old fashion styrofoam packaging, not the plastic bowls now seen for over a decade. Food was a mess. Worst part is we were sick all night and feel horrible this morning.
google avatar

Amber J.

Yelp
Okay, so coming from the west coast, I really wanted some good dimsum. Crystal is definitely the place to come for dismsum! They have a weekend dimsum menu that's delicious and the prices are reasonable. I LOVE the sticky rice in the lotus leaf and xiaolongbao and this place is THE place to come for it. The salted custard bun here isn't that great, so I would recommend getting danta (egg custards) instead if you're feeling something custardy. A bonus at this place is they give you "crispies" with sweet & sour sauce as appetizers, and they're pretty good. :)

Yelp
Looking for Dim sum found us this gem. Last Sunday we came here and found to our sadness we had missed the 12-4pm Saturday and Sunday Dim Sum so we had the Crab Meat Rangoon and the Kung Pau Chicken. Both were very good. The atmosphere is inviting, the staff is friendly and helpful. They have a TV that is running a satellite chanel that seems to be about beautiful places of China. We returned this weekend for the promise of the Dim Sum. It did not disappoint. The hot tea service kept coming as wave after wave of the Dim Sum we ordered arrived. This is a Must if you are craving Dim Sum... Just remember the Dim Sum is weekends only from 12-4p and they are closed on Wednesday.

Yelp
Visited this place after two years. I'm glad to see that they're still doing pretty well. We ordered Taiwanese chicken and Singaporean rice noodle. The rice noodle dish was OKish, nothing special. But the Taiwanese chicken was surprisingly good. First we didn't realize that it's a sizzler type dish and the chicken was cooked with perfection in a gingery gravy. Also, they provided one extra rice at free of cost. I'll come back soon just to try the Taiwanese chicken again.

Jane A.

Yelp
went here hours before they closed for a late night meal. the hours on the door say they close at 1:30am yet the door was locked. i looked inside and only saw what looked like to be workers and maybe 2 customers. i called and asked if they were open and if i could place an order for pick up and they told me they were too busy and packed with a huge party. if you aren't willing to serve up until the time you say you're open until then change your hours.

Yelp
I'm upset there's always no one at this place! I really hope they stay in business because it's real authentic Chinese food located right next to UB. Extremely convenient for the students. The quality and flavor of their food deserves everyone's appraisal. It isn't cheap but hey, we get what we pay for right ? Definitely check this place out if you're in the neighborhood! It's also beautifully decorated inside. Great quiet dine in for dates. Anyways, I ordered fish and tofu again. Just as great as I remembered it. Also had the spicy tripe today. It looks extremely spicy but it is not. It's the perfect amount of spice so your tastebuds are still intact. Looking forward to trying others off their menu! They offer a variety of different dishes along with the "American Chinese" dishes. *Update!! Had beef chow fun and fried jumbo shrimp with sweet creamy sauce! It is DELICIOUS! Do yourself a favor and order either one or both!!! Definitely two of my favorite foods.*

Rick Q.

Yelp
I don't write reviews, leave it others ... typically. But, the food was fantastic. Ordered pork ribs and squid in spicy pepper sauce (right, we do like our spicy pepper sauce), crab meat Rangoon, and Szechuan Wonton. To me, it's worth complimenting the restaurant, and recommending to others.

Yelp
Best Asian Cuisine I've had since moving to Buffalo. Food is just amazing. My boyfriend and I go \for the dim sum for the past 5 weekends. I've had the hot and sour soup, pork bun, pork and crab dumpling, spicy pork bibimbap, wonton soup, spring rolls, sauteed cabbage with hot sauce, beef pad see iew (like street noodles), the list goes one. I have never been disappointed with the food. I love that you place your order on an ipad and can see pictures of everything. They do have "american Asian cuisine" however we go for the more authentic dishes. The waitstaff is very helpful and answered all my questions. It is usually quiet when go for a later lunch. We have gotten take out as well and it was just as good. I hope this place staying open. I love the authentic flavors and having the opportunity to try new things.

Yelp
Amazing authentic Chinese food. Doesn't look like much from the outside but the vibe inside is so chill. I love the artwork on the walls. The weekend dim sum is great there's not too many places in WNY you can get authentic tasty dim sum like this so I cherish that they have it. Everything I've ever got from here has been great and I love ordering on the tablet, there is a picture for pretty much everything so it makes ordering much easier.

Yelp
We ordered the jumbo shrimp with sweet creamy sauce and the spicy beef. The shrimp were plentiful and the taste wasn't bad by any means, but the sauce was outrageously heavy. I felt nauseatingly full less than half way though the dish. The spicy beef looked so delicious, but we were both very disappointed with the taste. I couldn't believe how little flavor it had. We ended up taking almost all of it home for my fiancé to salvage with her magical spicing skills.

Yelp
Not exactly unique--all the fare you'd find here is standard chinese--fried dumplings, egg rolls, various noodle dishes, etc. On weekends they have a dim sum menu, but that you'll be able to find at most other places too (siu mai, scallion pancakes, etc). However, the location is good, the service is friendly, and the prices are fair. You could certainly do much worse.

This place was great, love it. The food was so good, I would let others to know about this restaurant.
