Talapia Szechuan Style - fresh, tender, and juicy tilapia that absorbed flavors of the rich, vibrant sauce made from Szechuan peppercorns, dried red chillies, chili oil, and ginger. served with vegetables well-coated with the sauce, too well-coated for me because the sauce is spicy. fish is a bit bland but that might just be the sauce's numbing effect! :D this pairs great with white rice, I would definitely recommend this!
Beef Chow Ho Fun - decent portion of thinly sliced tender beef. slightly chewy and well-separated wide rice noodles that absorbed the flavors of the savory sauce well. however, sauce is a bit too salty for me. bean sprouts, scallions, and onions were lightly cooked so they retained their crunchiness, complement the noodles/meat well and helped to cut back the sauce's saltines.
Basil clams - clams were fresh and cooked perfectly, with a nice, tender texture. basil added a wonderful aroma and flavor and complemented the dish well. however, sauce is a bit too salty for my taste. I'd recommend it, but be prepared for a slightly saltier flavor. might be better paired with white rice.
Wonton soup - wonton wrappers were too thick, making them heavy. meat filling was a bit bland and not that juicy. broth itself tasted like regular chicken soup. quite underwhelming but ok for a hot soup on a cold rainy day.
Pork siu mai - came as 4 pieces, each super small. filling was a bit lacking, a mix of vegetables and lean meat, kind of bland and not as juicy as I would liked. tasted like those frozen siu mai I would buy from the Asian supermarket.
Hargow - came as 4 pieces. dumpling skin was on the thicker side and slightly translucent. shrimp filling was fresh and flavorful, with a nice, juicy texture and strong sesame flavor. overall, a solid choice for hargow and would recommend giving it a try.
Restaurant is very clean and spacious with lots of seatings, they even have a separate room for private events! Service is quick and friendly. Free and easy parking available.
