I recently stayed at this property and, while the service itself was decent, I was shocked by how every little thing seemed to come with an extra charge. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that charges for a crib—this alone felt like blatant nickel-and-diming. If my baby needs a crib, it should be provided as a courtesy, not an additional fee. Moreover, essentials like water were outrageously priced at $10, which is inexcusable, even if this isn’t an all-inclusive resort. The kitchen was another letdown. It was advertised as “fully equipped,” yet there were no mixing bowls, barely any cooking utensils, and the knives were so dull they were practically unusable. The rooms are antiquated and we didn’t get good sleep due to lack of shades (the sunlight in the mornings woke us up very early). The beds are hard and not at comfortable. To put things in perspective, I’ve stayed at similar properties—like the Marriott villas—and had a significantly better experience for a comparable or even better value. Their amenities are higher quality, and they don’t charge you for basics like a crib or sky-high water prices. At this property, it feels as though you’re paying purely for the mountain view, which honestly isn’t worth the exorbitant costs. Given my experience, I don’t plan on returning and would advise anyone considering a stay here to be prepared for surprise charges and underwhelming amenities. It’s a shame because the resort could be great if they focused more on guests’ comfort and less on finding ways to charge for every minor convenience. Absolutely the worst experience…who rated this place a four diamond???

We were very excited about our girls trip here and chose the presidential suite for our stay. The room does not look like the photos online and when I asked them about this they said it’s the room brides stay in and acted like I was in the wrong for expecting it to resemble the photos they show online. She said they would make a shift note but did not offer me the correct room, discounts for their error, or any common nicety. Most activities and restaurants are closed in the winter, also misinformation since on the phone, we were told they would be open. Overall. Not worth the money.

Google
exceptional short rib. Short ribs are the epitome of comfort food when prepared with care, and these didn’t disappoint. The meat was incredibly tender, falling off the bone with the slightest touch, while the rich, savory glaze provided the perfect balance of umami and sweetness. Each bite was a flavor explosion, enhanced by the slow-cooked depth of the sauce. Paired with creamy mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables, the dish felt indulgent yet grounded. If there’s one critique, it’s that the portion left me wanting more—a testament to how delicious it was. A must-try for any meat lover!

Time with my best friend was priceless. We were delighted to have lovely fall weather for our stay at Crystal Springs Resort. The front desk reception staff members were excellent. They were very welcoming and eager to help. The grounds of the resort are absolutely beautiful. We loved the garden and the Nature Trail. We also enjoyed the archery activity. The room itself was open and airy. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed toasting marshmallows in the fire pits and playing ping pong. Regarding the room: - It was comfortable. - Daily housekeeper did a nice job. - Battery for safe did not work. - Curtains in the room were crooked. - Landscapers started early in the morning and woke us up. - We had late checkout with our package, but got locked out of our room at 11AM! - Not all activities are offered every day, so we missed out on a few we would have liked to do. This experience was NOT WORTH: - $559 per night RATE - PLUS $40.55 NJ Sales Tax - PLUS $27.95 LODGING TAX - PLUS $16.77 MUNICIPAL TAX - PLUS $53.11 RESORT FEE!!!!!!!!!! - OUR INITIAL RATE OF $559 ULTIMATELY ENDED UP BEING $697.38 per night JUST FOR THE ROOM ALONE! THIS IS HIGHWAY ROBBERY!! ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS for the room and experience we had. Honestly, for the kind of money we spent at this facility, every detail (including on-site restaurants) should be 5-STAR and absolutely perfect. You have a captive audience with hotel guests staying on-site and should also be absolutely ashamed of yourselves for the quality of food, prices you charge and service provided. Spa service/experience was also overpriced! $180 for 50 minute massage, plus 10% Spa Service Charge, plus NJ SALES TAX plus TIP on top of that! I did have a wonderful massage by Ashley but certainly not worth over $200 for it. So extremely disappointed and will not be back ever again and would never recommend this to others.

The staff at the front desk are great! I was on my way home and realized that I left my sunglasses (I recently purchased) back in the my hotel room, and I called the front desk to see if they could locate them. They did, and shipped them to my house the next day! This process could have been a real pain, with little chance of getting my item returned to me, but the staff was fantastic to deal with! A testament to the character of the folks working there. Thank you!

Google
Beautiful resort. Great and easy location. Loved the safe, secure and warm underground parking. Rooms are very generous in size. Heated bathroom floors. Washer/Dryer, dishwasher, fridge and stove in each unit. We had a 4 day conference. Each meal was hot and delicious. Service was constantly ensuring enough for all and that everything was clean and hot. Spa and the Biodome were highlights.

Google
My wife and I went there for three days. The rooms and on site dining are a little expensive but the whole place is very nice. All the staff there were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were great and everything was well maintained. The pools and hot tubs were beautiful and relaxing. There are also a lot of included activities at the resort and is very family friendly.

Yelp
I played a 9 hole scramble on the cascades course and I really enjoyed the course. Carts include GPS There were some fun holes to play with beautiful scenery. I am unsure of the cost as I did not pay. I will be going back.

Yelp
Great Thanksgiving buffet. Huge dining hall. Nice decor. Ample seating. Delicious food with lots of choices. Very good raw bar, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, short rib, and desserts. Highly recommend.

Ed R.

Yelp
Golfed here for the tunnel 2 towers golfing outing and was a very nice event. The employees of the resort all seemed friendly and the golf shop and banquet rooms were all nice. There was ample parking. The area that the golf courses are located is beautiful....some of the holes had very nice scenery. The course was pretty difficult. I'm not a great golfer but might have been hardest course I played. We played the wild turkey for 18. There are three other courses so I can't speak to them. All in all a good day to donate some of the golf balls I lost.

Yelp
Truly breathing place. We had a king suite it was clean and updated with a full kitchen balcony and fireplace. Front desk check in staff was lovely, valet great. Ok the pool, it's so much smaller than the pics make it look, and we went in January, they have those big pool side lounge chairs as if you're sitting in the sun...why? It's enclosed... there's barely room to walk around and definitely not enough of them, so many other options than lounge chairs in doors that could've made the area appealing. We went for yacht rock weekend band was incredible, the reception room dinner and staff though zero stars for them, food had no taste and every table around us was waited on but not ours when I asked the host he sent a waitress over to clean up all the glasses and plates she says to me "you know it's a self serve bar", clearly I did and the table did with all the glasses but what's her purpose for the comment? Just not a friendly dining staff.

Yelp
We had an incredible day at Crystal Springs Resort! To celebrate our first wedding anniversary, we booked the Reflections Summer Spa & Pool Daycation package. The morning started with our couple's massage at the Reflections Spa. Both our masseuses were so friendly and awesome to work with. I wish I remembered their names, but they were some of the kindest people we've ever met! Including the woman who checked us in- I think her name may have been Colleen? Her excitement and enthusiasm for us being there made us feel so welcomed. After the massage we got to do a foot soak while they served us champagne and chocolate truffles. The spa itself is gorgeous with a red theme and genuine crystals hanging from the ceiling- which I was so impressed by! The entire spa experience felt luxurious and was the perfect start to our day. After the spa, we headed to the pools which we had access to for the entire day. The Biosphere pool is gorgeous- and tricked our friends and family into thinking we went on a tropical vacation! The Vista 180 pool was a bit of a walk from the Biosphere, but so worth it- the view was jaw dropping! The garden in between the two was just so lovely to walk around- and especially how wonderful it smelled! The steam and sauna rooms in the Biosphere were a lot of fun to check out, and especially the hidden hot tub overlooking the mini waterfall! The Taqueria food stand was surprising good! They were very generous with the guacamole and salsa which I always appreciate. And the Pina Coladas were just right. Included with our day pass- and what we saved for last- was the self guided Wine Cellar tour. We learned so much about wine doing this, and their collection is truly mind blowing. Afterwards we were able to bring some wine home from their shop- where it was all actually affordable. We truly had such a wonderful day, and we are thinking of making this an annual trip for us!

Mike: I sent you an email as requested. No response. Is there something specific you need?

Yelp
What can I say the Grand Cascades Lodge is a must stay -family and couple environment. Once registered they hand you a weekend activity agenda and a property map show you by number where activities are taking place (cool). So many fun things to do with the kids -stuff animal building, Arcade, marshmallow roasting, family movie night to name a few. For the adults you have wine tasting (plus tour), ax throwing, paint and sip, rock climbing. Let's not forget the Biosphere pool complex with a pool bar which also leads you to a heated outside pool. The outside Vista pool (opens around may or when weather gets warmer) can't wait to try this pool. They are also know to have one of the largest golf courses in New Jersey ( for those guys and gals that love golfing) gotta try this place. Restaurants in the lodge -GRAND CASCADES LODGE DINING-RESTAURANT LATOUR AN ELEVATED CULINARY EXPERIENCE-CRYSTAL TAVERN LOCALLY SOURCED MENU + BREATHTAKING VIEWS-SPRINGS BISTRO CASUAL NJ ITALIAN RESTAURANT. We enjoy dinners at the Crystal Tavern and was very satisfied with our choices. Our room had an amazing view looking at the entire golf course-the fire pit at night -the inside pool . Can't wait till next stay . Oh looking for a wedding venue this is the place this weekend they had two exquisite wedding's-so well arranged. Too bad I was not a guest lol. Well our 40th anniversary is coming up so let's see

Yelp
I read some reviews of this place and was surprised to see so many negative comments. I went there to see an investment opportunity and I found a beautiful property with lots of amenities and a great experience with staff. We visited the restaurant for lunch and they served us a delicious lunch and some good wine after an exhausting day of looking at properties. This place is huge with a really nice golf course. They have great activities for kids and very family friendly. It was a nice learning experience and quite some fun too. I will definitely be back there again soon.

Yelp
Edited to add In response to Mike's reply. It's a freezer pack. To suggest you have a better room to accommodate the re-freezing of a freezer pack is ridiculous. I think you need to look up ADA compliance. Reasonable accommodation is not suggesting the person with a medical disability should pay for a more expensive room to get a freezer that is needed for 2 hours of the entire stay that is required to refreeze a freezer pack. You are just making yourself look bad with these replies. Please stop. I originally left a review on trip advisor which "Mike" replied to and since I am unable to reply to it I felt it very necessary to address something he mentioned. My daughter is a type 1 diabetic and we transported her insulin with a small cooler on the drive to the hotel. The hotel stocks a basic fridge in the queen double room and this is all I needed to refrigerate her insulin during her stay. Most hotel fridges do not stock one with a freezer so I asked the front desk the day before we left to refreeze the ice pack so I can properly store her insulin on the drive home. I have done this many times in the past at a variety of hotels so I was shocked when I was told they were unable to do so as they "don't have a freezer". I pressed that surely a resort has a freezer somewhere and the clerk acted like he was doing me a favor by trying to find someone to place the ice pack in a freezer for 2-3 hours. He did but I felt it necessary to add this to my review. Mike replied that I should have booked a suite (at a significantly higher price) that had a freezer to accommodate my needs. For the 2 hours I needed a freezer during my entire stay I should have paid a heftier price and been in a different room? That's discrimination against people with medical needs. I was shocked and appalled that he left a public reply insinuating that this was MY fault I didn't think ahead and pay more money to get a freezer which I DID NOT NEED for the entirety of my stay. This is the original review link. I am providing screenshots of his reply before he revises his review upon realization that it's discriminatory Check out this review of Grand Cascades Lodge on Tripadvisor: https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g46486-d1025729-r965731828-Grand_Cascades_Lodge-Hamburg_New_Jersey.html

Yelp
This resort has seen better days. Very expensive for a pretty run down resort. Make sure you bring your wallet you will need it. From resort fees, to overpriced rooms and restaurants even in the game room they are out to get you. Beautiful area but definitely not worth the exorbitant cost to stay at this resort.

Yelp
If you want a place to get out of the cold, swim, play tennis, basketball, or enjoy the indoor/outdoor heated pool then ski the day away and only an hour and a half away from New York this is it

Lailah J.

Yelp
This review is for the spa & pool daycation experience, not for an overnight stay. My husband got me a gift certificate for a spa treatment, with use of the Biosphere pool, a $50 meal credit, and self-guided wine cellar tour. First of all, the grounds are expansive and gorgeous, with rolling hills and open views. We enjoyed walking around and exploring the property, and checking out the large outdoor patio behind the main building at Grand Cascades Lodge with several seating areas and fire places. Seems like a great place to enjoy a golden hour tipple. I booked a deep tissue massage (50 min for $180) at Reflections Spa which was heavenly. The spa facilities are elegant, clean, and luxurious. At the end of the service, you are ushered to a room full of crystals hanging from the ceiling to enjoy a foot bath while relaxing with a glass of champagne and truffles. We were too late for lunch at the Crystal Tavern so opted for a quick bite at the Biosphere cafe next to the indoor atrium pool. The sandwiches and salads were surprisingly excellent! Fresh and filling. There is also a small selection of beer, wine & cocktails. The Biosphere pool was an aesthetic highlight - looks like a small paradise cove and has a hidden slide. We came on a weekday so it wasn't too crowded which was nice. There is both an indoor and outdoor pool. I will say that everything seemed a bit overpriced. However, I really enjoyed my day and every part of my experience was great, and I would return.

Yelp
We just had one of the worst customer experiences with this resort. Last week we booked a 2-night stay to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We were looking forward to getting away, including (of course) having a massage and some nice spa treatments. Today when we called the resort to book our treatments, the operator (who was very nice) was confused because the entire week of our stay was grayed-out in her system. After consulting with her supervisor, she reported back to us that the entire spa is closed for maintenance for the week during which we made our reservation. What?? Did not one of the operators we spoke with during the course of making our reservation think to inform us that the spa would be closed that week? We were so looking forwad to our visit and are now rudely left with none. Very bad customer service!, Crystal Springs!

Shantel B.

Yelp
Clothing and Jewelry damaged beyond repair. Resort acted as if they cared and was going to rectify the situation. However, it's been months of them ignoring calls and emails. DO not go here. Horrible

Rebecca S.

Yelp
Stayed in a king suite and enjoyed the fireplace and spaciousness. I was excited for a beautiful stay but the rest was just meh. I was there for a conference which is always well run no matter where we go. The food here was sub par to other places we go. Plenty of it but not as appetizing, seemed to be the group consensus. I prepaid in full by phone before arriving and was extremely disappointed to see a 3% credit card convenience charge added to my check-out statement. I've never seen a hotel do this, especially when they require a deposit to reserve! How else could I have paid a deposit to avoid this charge? Cash in the mail?? One of our golf players said they had a golf cart roll away and overturn on them. The resort is advertised as one big opportunity but there is no transport shuttle between Crystal Springs and Mineral Springs and its not easily walkable. The posted biosphere pool hours were not correct and more limited, I had to ask spa staff to figure it out. I enjoyed my room immensely which deserves the stars, but only at the conference discount rate. Full price would have been incredibly disappointing. Honestly it's the 3% scammer charge that made me want to post everything else (which is accurate, just meh) That was just wrong of you.

Yelp
What makes this place a resort? My friends and I paid over $1k for a "suite." The fireplaces were pretty and the drab room was nice enough for downtime. But it was far from a resort. I liked hanging out by the fireplace in a corner of a hallway with our coffee. But the coffee was $5, and mediocre. The nearby breakfast banquet looked just a step above a free buffet at a highway motel.. for $30 a person. The biosphere was nice when we walked in... but the humidity gets ick fast. The food and drinks we got in the Taqueria were DISGUSTING DO NOT ORDER. We enjoyed our time in the hot tub outside with the cold air until our friend who hung back by the lounge chairs warned us there were roach-liked bugs all over the outskirts of the Biosphere, near our stuff. That ruined the vibe. And later on.. we had to depart our $1k room after we had gone to bed because the wall was so thin we heard 20-somethings partying (screaming) next door. Overall I just don't think the Hamburg surrounding area has enough to offer to warrant rooms at that price. The hotel should make up that difference by offering a more luxurious experience - better food, discounted access to other amenities, thicker walls/a quieter experience, and of course, an exterminator. Also we heard the CS restaurants suck so we went to Acquaviva in Hamburg and it was great!!

Deborah S.

Yelp
We were SO disappointed by our stay at the Crystal Springs Resort. We paid a ridiculous amount of money (~$800) a night that was no where even near the quality we expected. For that price, it should be even better than the Ritz Carlton but it was more like a Holiday Inn that had their computer system down. First off we show up and our room is not ready until 3 HOURS after the time we were told we could check in. We did not receive any apology for the delay and were simply told "our computer system is down." We expected that a company this large and established would've been able to rectify the problem within just a few hours, except it was down for the WHOLE weekend. We received no apology or anything extra for our trip and we had to pay the full price. Another aspect that the website seems to hide is that it makes it seem like the two resorts are close together. However, we learn when we got there that it was basically a 10 minute ride between them. And of course, the hotel doesn't offer a shuttle for you to get there. We expected to at least be able to use the amenities at both resorts since we were playing a ridiculously high price per night but again we learned that the hotels do not allow that. Next, I have to talk about how terrible the pool was. We didn't know that the Minerals resort is basically a kids amusement park. The website definitely doesn't paint that picture. There is absolutely no service at the pool and no employees to ask you if you would like drinks or food. We even are expected to go and walk down a hill and carry lounge chairs up towards the pool ourselves. The lounge chairs are also from the 1800s and are all teared up. One pool is literally ice cold and the other one is heated and filled with children. Because of the amount of germs in that heated pool, we were forced to freeze. Also, I know that there were so many people at that pool who weren't even staying at the hotel. So we were basically paying for their fun weekend. On to the massages at the spa: completely overpriced and absolutely not worth it. $200 for the fastest massage. I get better massages for $30 in a shopping center by my house. Overall, do NOT waste your money on this place. Go stay at the Ritz Carlton for half the price that you would be paying for this resort. The website is a complete scam. Plus you'll probably go and their "computer system will be down."

Vinny S.

Yelp
Great food with a wide variety of different places to eat from breakfast to diner. Gourmet to a regular hot dog. Pools are clean and perfect temp to your liking. Great pool slide I think I enjoy it more than my kids. Rooms are clean and beds are comfortable. I have a bad back so that's important to me. Most importantly my wife enjoys her time here. It's our 6th year coming gets better every time. It's a beautiful resort on top of a mountain with breathtaking views. If you're a golfer Crystal Springs is definitely a course you want to enjoy. Also the staff and management is a top notch team. That's what makes it a 5 star review because they go the extra mile to ensure you having a great stay.

Laura R.

Yelp
I'm one person who usually gives stellar ratings but this time I can't. I'm giving three stars because the place is charming. However, we arrived when it was pouring. We pulled under the overhang to empty our vehicle. Valet offered to take the car but never ever told us that there would be a $25 charge for valet parking!!!! $25?!? On top of it, they expect you to walk around with oodles of cash or use your debit card to pay for a room well over $1000 for one night to avoid a convenience credit card charge. So between the valet and the convenience charge we paid almost an additional $50. This is a large business. Why would you charge such a ridiculous fee?? Not everyone is rolling in the dough as we were there for a wedding. I would have appreciated valet having the courtesy to tell us how much it would be versus parking it on our own in the same garage. We did not even experience bellhop service and paid $25 plus tip for him to park it overnight where we could have taken it ourselves. What a sneaky upcharge. So beware. Park your car on your own!

Yelp
The resort has seen better days that's for sure, very tired and old. The pool areas looked like they haven't been updated since they were built (70s / 80s). Not a lot of room around the inside pool/hot tub area. There was so many people that the space really couldn't accommodate the amount of people. Baby strollers and pool noodles didn't help. Lounge chairs around the outdoor pool were old and discolored. The resort seems to be open to the public so there was A LOT of people, especially kiddos, even for the end of August. Kites Restaurant was nice, decided to sit outside since it was a nice day. Was hard to find a table that was decent looking, all have paint chipped off, rusty and dirty. There was one table that literally had over 1/2 dozen cigarette butts on the deck under the table. Food was good and views pretty. Elements Spa was also tired, chipped paint on the doors, peeling wallpaper, cracked tile floor, very out of date. The robes and slipper provided were horrible. Never been to a spa that didn't have white robes. White obviously appears clean, dark green/blue faded robes seemed dirty, was hesitant to put it on. Slippers are randomly put into the lockers, most spas will ask what size you wear. In my locker the slippers were two different sizes, medium and large. I choose to wear my own sandals as the slippers provided were way too large, I wear a size 6. My masseuse, Amanda, was fantastic. The massage was definitely as redeeming factor. I seriously cannot say enough bad things about this place. Total SHIT SHOW.

Yelp
I decided to make a trip up north to celebrate my daughter's birthday at this resort. Read good reviews and saw beautiful pictures so I picked Crystal Springs Resort. When booking the weekend getaway, I selected the spa package to add a little extra to the birthday present. Sadly, we weren't informed the details of the spa package and ended up losing half the spa options due to us not knowing. As for the food, it wasn't special. We were charged about $80 for the continental breakfast every morning and the food was primarily cold so I was paying $80 to eat kids cereal and fruit. We made reservations for the restaurants but their vegan options are extremely limited to non existent. We ended up going off property to eat at local areas and fell in love with a few other spots (reviews for those soon to come). The bed was very hard but the housekeepers were so kind and did a great job in keeping the room nice and neat for our return. Sadly, they threw out leftover food we brought back from an off property location but that's ok. We blame ourselves for not labeling it somehow. The gym at the other location and the bungee class was the best thing at the resort. We laughed so hard during that class that I probably burned more calories from the constant laughing more than anything else. The instructor was so kind and helpful. The other students in the class were laughing with us. It was GREAT. We tried to do the Goat Yoga also; however, the temperature dropped from 70° one day to 40° the next resulting in the w es there to be too cold for my outdoor to be able to do that outside with the goats. Ultimately, this would've gotten a better rating if the pricing wasn't so high. It isn't a 5 star resort yet they claim it is. I have explored all level of resorts and this one is definitely not 5 star quality for that pricing. Would recommend others to research intensely before booking here.

Yelp
Computers down and front desk people have no answers. Much to be desired - definitely not looking good at the moment.

Brielle B.

Yelp
what a disgusting mess. zero acccountability for almost $700 a night. 45 minutes to get housekeeping to change the sheets. the front desk "supervisor" was rude. the manager never showed up to deal with my complaint.

Nadia D.

Yelp
I rarely post negative reviews, this may be my first. My husband got horribly sick after consuming the salmon dish at the Crystal Tavern a restaurant at the resort. The only recollection that we have of the resort is of the bathroom where my husband was getting sick from around 8:30/9pm EST pm on the same night until way into the next morning, I have never seen him that ill. We were not able to experience any of the room amenities or the resort amenities and were instead eager to depart the resort as soon as possible towards the nearest Urgent Care. Further, after we complained to corporate senior management at the resort about our experience we were not offered a refund or anything else to offset the negative experience. We don't have any plans of returning.

Coll C.

Yelp
Stayed here in March for my husband's birthday. Terrible experiences listed below 1. Outdated rooms 2. No dresser for your clothes 3. A mattress that felt like sleeping on a rock 4. Restaurants terrible 5. The pool was nice but dirty and a hot tub with no jets 6. Rude staff 7. No entertainment The only pro to this stay was the spa Save your money do not book crystal springs

Yelp
Don't ever go here for Thanksgiving. My family and I will never return there after the disaster of a holiday meal this place provided. 1. You get there and there is not one person around or placards to tell you where to go to get to the Canyon Ballroom. Plus when you walk in, it literally feels like the 1980's, with the interior design. Plus, since the entrance is by the spa/pool area, the entire lobby reeked of chlorine. Not really something you wanna inhale before eating dinner. 2. The woman you check in with took almost 10 minutes to find our reservation, despite having a list in front of her and having a smug attitude. 3. We immediately went to the cheese/meat, appetizer and salad (as would anyone to start their multiple course meal) and the head manager decided to come over and tell everyone waiting in line that we should go to other food lines first to avoid waiting in line. Who eats their main meal first when you pay close to $100 for a buffet? 4. There was no salt and pepper at any of the tables. A small container of gravy at the carving station but yet they had other food stations with things like mashed potatoes or stuffing and yet, you would have to walk back to the carving station to get gravy. It was Thanksgiving! You need more than a teaspoon of gravy with your meal. 5. Half the food labels were written with a dry erase marker and you couldn't even read the labels. What if you had an allergy or wanted to try something new, or wanted to know what the hell was even being served? 6. When we didn't order alcohol from our server, she literally said that since our bill was paid, that we can leave whenever we want and never came back to our table to see if we needed anything. Great service 7. There was a large group with their kids that were out of control by hitting my chair at least a dozen times, bumped into my arm while was eating and I got food all over my shirt even after asking the manager to do something about it and they did nothing. 8. The deserts were plates of slop or pre-maid mini frozen deserts that you can get at Costco in a variety pack. Their cobbler looked like a plate of slop you scoop up and throw on your plate. No pies, ice cream or a chocolate fountain. Things you see at most buffets that cost $100+. The whole experience wasn't the worst ever but for the price, the food quality and the service, I would never recommend it. You're better off getting a Stouffer's microwaved turkey dinner.

Yelp
When walking to the rooms you cross through the indoor pool area and it is extremely hot. If you're on the bottom floor all the staff use that elevator. The stairs are faster at that point. Everything is far apart and the outdoor pool is freezing cold. Also the hotel is not walker/wheelchair accessible. Railing in the pool don't go past the first step. Don't recommend for older people.

Yelp
Underwhelming is an understatement. This place is tired and is in desperate need of a full make over. I felt like I was stepping back in time 20 years. Kites restaurant- old. The chairs in the pool area- old. The pool itself- old. The staff was extremely friendly and the food was better than I expected but it just doesn't make up for the rest of the place. Our room smelled like a locker room and we needed to be moved. And the spa- which was the only reason we went there- needs a big time update. The waiting area is the size of my closet and not exactly relaxing or pretty. It's also right across from the CBD foot soak where everyone is talking loudly and hanging out. The locker room is so small that everyone is on top of each other. The pedis are in the same place as hair so while relaxing for a pedicure you have the pleasure of listening to someone getting a blow out. The service rooms are small and you're looking up the entire time at the ceiling that needs a fresh coat of paint and holes repaired. They are unprepared to accommodate any allergies or sensitivities, which is pretty irresponsible since allergies have become common and service industry places are typically prepared to handle them. I have an allergy and asked them to swap out any products that I was allergic to for a facial and they had no idea what to do. I've been getting facials for the last 20 years and never had an issue- most places are prepared to accommodate any allergies or skin sensitives bc they are working on your face. I was so shocked by how frazzled they were by a common allergy that I just had to cancel the entire thing. I was also surprised that the manager wasn't proactive in trying to address the manner. It's pretty common with facials for people to need things swapped out due to sensitivities- every time I've gone they talk to me about my face and recommend what to do based on how I describe my skin- so I didn't really understand what the big deal was to swap out any product that contained allergens. The entire spa experience was the complete opposite of relaxing and with so many good spas in NY/NJ would definitely NOT recommend this one.

Yelp
DInner at clubhouse...over an hour to get cocktails after placing the order. EXTREMELY SPARSE MENU AND PRICEY. Waited anotger hour fir food to arrive. 3 of 4 entres were cold, 4th was salad! Server was wonderful, not so for bartender nor kitchen. For the $-SKIP THIS PLACE

Yelp
Stayed here for a girls weekend. This resort seems like it was the place to be in the 80s or 90s and needs lots of updating. Most of the resort was outdated especially the spa and bedrooms. My masseuse Jolanta was incredible however and deserves 5 stars. I would definitely request her if you are going to the spa. The solarium is nice however once again needs refreshing and a modern touch. The hot tub was more like warm bath water and no bubbles. Everything was way overpriced too. $20 for a frozen margarita at the pool that I have to wait in line to get? For the price I'd hop over to the Hotel Hershey instead. Update**went down to one star. Charged and then charged again on a split bill with friend at the Tavern for breakfast. How does this get messed up and charged a week after I've left there? Totally irresponsible and suspect.

Yelp
recently went with friends for "world class golf". Staff poorly trained . Courses in fair condition no transportation between various courses. Needed to buy tickets for balls at range despite booked as golf vacation. End of round hard to get someone to clean clubs and place clubs in pick up location but they were very willing to take tips. Golf carts old, not world class golf experience. Rooms ok but old food so so and over priced. We will not be back John C

Yelp
Super nice horas experience for our entire family! Any time of the year! Summer or winter. Great restaurants, great activities, great rooms and great services in general Highly recommended!

Yelp
My family and I recently booked 3 rooms for an on-site wedding. Aside from the happy event, the stay at your resort was horrible. Bad check-in experience, unhelpful management, lack of noise control, unclean/unworkable room features, and a MAJOR safety issue with a fire emergency. With this said, your resort did NOT provide the commensurate room, services and safety that guests expect and my hard-earned dollars spent warranted. I also intend to follow-up with the community and local authorities, especially relative to the unsafe conditions at the resort and nearby homes.

Yelp
The worst experience ever. Do not go there if you want a good experience. The food was really good, but if you don't want to take bed bugs home. Cook your ow. Food and stay at home. They came out of the walls I believe. 2:45 am I had to shake out repack and walk the halls alone from the basement. They moved me right away but how can you sleep anywhere after seeing these huge bugs in your bed. Never apologized and probably bever will. Money is green but I am not. 300 person event. I know I'm not the only one that had bugs in their room. NEVER CHECKED TO SEE IF I WAS SATISFIED AND NEVER OFFERED ANY TYPE. DO NOT GO. DO NOT CALL AND DO NOT SLEEP HERE.

Yelp
2 Nights | $6k | Bachelorette Package = Poor Customer Experience, Cockroaches and Excuses - Upon arrival, we had to request bag assistance - no bellhop or welcome out front. Friendly front desk, but more information was needed to assist our stay. We later realized, as we went to restaurants on the property, that many were not even open, and activities were not even correct times. In hindsight, we thought that would be something the front desk would have told us at check-in. Upon entering the pool facility, better communication must be provided regarding where to get food and what is provided. Also, they automatically charge you a credit card servicing fee when doing anything at the resort. Before handing us a bill, they would ask if we were charging for the room. No. We constantly had to request this to be removed. In addition, to tip at the spa in cash, the spa, roasters, the front desk, and the biosphere didn't have change. We had to wait until later in the day to get change. It made it seem intentional to obtain additional gratuity. The icing on the cake was this morning; when we woke up, we found what looked like a cockroach on our pillow on the sofa bed. After informing the front desk of the bug, they said we needed to write you a letter explaining this. Upon returning to room 264, our room keys didn't work. Apparently, they shut off all cards at 11 am, regardless of your checkout time. It had become highly annoying at this point. Ultimately, we needed better service and better communication.. also known as hospitality. And no bugs. Other issues experienced: champagne put into the room- ice melted and soaked the countertop & items on it while we were at the pool. Reservation for 6 people, only 4 bath towels, so we had to call for more towels. Hair in salad at the country club pool. Bellhop said no one is here to help, but I can get you a cart. Upon notifying the Director of the Front Desk, Nicole, rather than looking for a solution, proceeded to give excuses... "It's the reservation line's responsibility"; "it's the bellhop's process".... clearly, those procedures create a BAD customer experience. But her response is typical of a place that doesn't want to make changes to accommodate its guests. They need to go to a 2023 Customer Experience or Hospitality training conference.

Yelp
Checking into room with 2 other guest..they were told we each needed a credit card to put on file and if not they would not be allowed in the room or resort...the room had been paid for..the food served was lukewarm at best .we had dinner and breakfast catered for our event..we came with group Sisters Inspiring Sisters for weekend March 8-10 Mildred our maid was excellent The food at restaurant overpriced 20 dollars for burger..the pool extremely crowded.

Yelp
It was meant to be a relaxing trip, but it turned into a two-night ordeal. Unfortunately, the alarm woke us up both nights, frightening the children and elderly from four families. Each room cost over $1000, disrupting the entire trip and leaving us with a regrettable experience. The hotel failed to communicate about the first night's alarm, leading everyone to evacuate and wait for an hour and a half, with no staff offering assistance. The lack of empathy was evident, and when the alarm sounded again the next night, The children and elderly had to wait on the roadside without any information or aid. We got informed by the fire department but not the staff . We couldn't have a deep sleep at night and not enjoy the trip .It was a very disappointing experience that completely spoiled my holiday.the restaurant was very limited with menu . Less selection and store is closed early , if u come pls prepared to be enough food

Yelp
I just got back from my third visit to Crystal Springs/Grand Cascades. I go in August every year with my family (including kids 3 and 5), my dad and sister and her family. It is beautiful!! Now that all the pools are heated it is like a dream :) We love the food and the downstairs winery (and nearby Warwick Winery). The resort is a little pricey but only an hour from my house and we all have a great time. We don't do a lot of the kids activities but the kids are happy in the pools. The rooms and the views are beautiful! I just wish the breakfast buffet was available more days. Until next year!!!!

Yelp
This place sure does have a lot of (bad) reviews, huh? Well - this is my two-cents for a very specific visit/activity so take it with a grain of salt, I suppose. Father's Day - absolutely gorgeous weather and it's my very first time on an actual golf course (plenty of experience with mini-golf but never ventured into the "collared shirt a must" world where bankers and doctors and CEO's gossip while debating to use a wedge or an iron hoping to avoid a triple bogey or that sand trap). But we're here for FootGolf. Since I missed my chance to be the next Pelé many years ago the next best thing seemed to be for the whole family to give this oddball hybrid 'sport' a shot. Checking in was clunky (they couldn't find our reservation) and now there's a convoy of golf carts at the 1st hole all waiting to start. And since we're the only crew doing socc-, ahhh, FootGolf, we were told by Walter (nicest guy, amazing tan - definitely should run for mayor in one of those towns up there) more than once that we need to let the real golfers play through us. So 'tee time' was 10:30-ish but it was well past 11 when we started. By the time we assumed we'd be done we were only on the 12th hole. (And when you have 12-year-olds as well as in-laws in their early 70's - you can't push it too much before there's meltdowns and whatnot.) The course is immaculate, the surrounding area looks great, I think I can see the appeal of being able to 'disappear' for a few hours and just zone out - although I'm pretty sure I'll never try real golf. FootGolf is a lot tougher than you might expect. (Trying to make par while booting a ball the length of a soccer field over and over again is tiring.) Some friendly advice we learned the hard way... Stay hydrated. We each brought a bottle of water which wasn't enough - thank goodness for the 'tricked out' golf cart with beers and drinks that comes by from time to time. (You're so thirsty that $9 for a beer sounds like a bargain). Wear plenty of sunblock. (My kids - always stubborn - didn't do their legs and they were burned by the end of the day.) I had a blast (not having to pay on top of winning against the rest of the family definitely skewed my opinion for the better!) but the troops were starting to burn out and we didn't even attempt the last six holes. Post-game we snooped around at their Beer Garden (looked kinda blah) and their restaurant inside ($115 for a tomahawk steak... definitely not meant for my tax-bracket) and realized we'd be better off leaving the (beautiful) grounds for a meal somewhere else.

Yelp
This place has great advertisement titling it a "luxury resort " however, this is far from the reality I experienced. From the moment we arrived to Mineral springs things were unorganized and mediocre. Check in is already absurdly late at 4pm, but when we arrived at 2pm I was hopeful the occasional "early" check in was possible but it was somehow delayed for an additional 90 minutes. While we waited until 5:30 for check in we were directed to put our bags in a dusty closet that anyone could access in the lobby. We thought our experience could only get better with pedicures, and while the women were lovely their hands seemed foreign to a massage of any kind. This was followed by a pool break which was saturated with people to the point of overwhelm, and $20 alcoholic beverages. I then asked where it was appropriate for me to pump as I'm a breastfeeding mom, and I was directed to a family restroom with no seat on the toilet. There are numerous kids and babies at this resort and it's heartbreaking to think there is no where decent for these mommas to nurse. I have had better accommodations at a baseball stadium. When we finally got into our rooms it was evident that apparently they ran out of fitted sheets or proper duvet covers. There's a loose sheet on the mattress, and 2 loose sheets around the blanket which slides around and makes me feel like I'm sharing a bed with the whole resort. There is a restaurant in house called Kites which was fine but nothing special. With grand cascades 3 miles away it would be nice to have a nicer option for dinner on site. In the morning we were awoken by a lawnmower at 6:15, and we proceeded to stare at the ceiling until breakfast started at 8. With the amount of young families here it is pretty absurd that breakfast does not start at 7, since most kids are up early. Today we have scheduled massages before we leave and I'm hoping this place can get something right. Update: Massage was 10/10, but then we were locked out of our room after we were promised 1pm check out for our inconveniences ‍

Yelp
Was incorrectly billed. Front desk person was unable to correct it. They had me wait for a manager whom never showed up. Think twice before staying here. Some very shady business practices going on here.

Yelp
TLDR: Beautiful facilities/grounds. Way overpriced for what is included since every activity is additional cost. Service/food need work. Bring drinks/snacks to keep in the room because waiting in line at the grab-n-go place is ridiculous. If you stay during the week like we did, restaurant options are limited. *Stayed in Aug 2021 when COVID cases were spiking - no staff was wearing masks, including waiters and spa technicians - if this concerns you, you might not want to stay here* I stayed for a one night girlfriends trip. We booked the Besties Spa Package: 2 bed/2 bath suite w/ a spa treatment each. The package also included complimentary prosecco, strawberries, and "Afternoon Tea Basket with Delicious Bonbons, Muffins, Macarons and Organic Herbal Tea (see photo)." It also included late checkout (1pm), which is normally $50. Since we were only staying one night, we wanted to maximize our time and asked upon booking if we could put a note on our reservation for an earlier than 4pm check-in, if possible. We arrived at 12. The front desk saw our note about early check in and told us that the room could be ready in 2 minutes, or 2 hours... We decided to get lunch. The only restaurant that was serving lunch was Crystal Tavern. It was about 20 minutes before we were even able to talk to the hostess about being seated. The menu is small, and there are not many options for vegetarians (my veg friend ordered a plate of hummus...). We had actually called months ago to ask if there were other vegetarian options on the menus and we were told "not really, but you can try to ask when you arrive." Service was very slow, food was pretty good. At 2pm, the room was still not ready, so we changed into swimsuits in the bathroom and went to the outdoor pool - a gorgeous setting with an infinity pool, bar, and lots of lounge chairs. This was lovely. At 3:45 we decided we should get out, since we had 5pm spa reservations and needed to arrive at 4:40. At 3:53 our room was finally ready - they accommodated our "early check in" request with a whole 7 minutes. The suite is beautiful - a full kitchen (refrigerator, stove, dishes, sink - please note NO microwave if you plan to bring something to nuke). Two beautiful bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a huge table and spacious living room. Beautiful balcony with fireplace and stunning views. There is also a washer/dryer in the space, but I did not see detergent. We all took super quick showers -- the drain in one of the showers was terrible, so after a 5 minute shower there was 5 inches of water around my ankles :-/ Our prosecco, fruit, and treats were not in the room. I called down and they said they were "on their way out for delivery." We left for the spa 15 minutes later. SPA: Lovely! I had a nice facial (not the best I've ever had, but it WAS the most expensive). My friends got massages and all 4 were happy. We got a complimentary glass of sparkling rose, and one piece of chocolate. Upon returning to the room, our complimentary treats had arrived. The baked goods were okay. The chocolates and macarons were yum. Strawberries were good. Since lunch took forever, we decided to order food from the restaurant and bring it upstairs to utilize our large dining table. It also made us feel safer because of COVID to be around less people. We ordered a few items from Crystal Tavern again, and others from Springs Bistro. Everything was decent. Nothing amazing. Just okay. DAY 2: Waited in line for 15 minutes to get bottles of water and iced coffee. Took the Nature Trail hike -- it's half in the woods, and half walking around a golf course. A little odd haha. 80% of it is super easy, and then 20% is strenuous. 3.2 miles total. Ordered in breakfast (Crystal Tavern again). The order took 2x as long as they said, it was also incorrect, they forgot stuff, and for what we got, the price was ridiculous. The pancakes are 2 silver dollars, not big pancakes, so... that was a little ridiculous for $12. During breakfast we had the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. Housekeeping knocked, and before we could answer, they walked in, saw us in our robes/pajamas, said "oh, so sorry" before leaving. Um... DO NOT DISTURB. We then went to the biosphere pool; a cool experience, probably even better in the winter so you can feel like you're in a tropical place. Upon returning to our room at noon, NONE of our keys worked. They had deactivated them even though we had 1pm check out!!!!! We used the hallway phone to call downstairs and waited in our cold wet bathing suits for someone to come up and let us into our room. Upon checking out, we noticed a $73 Room Service fee. IT WAS FOR THE COMPLIMENTARY STUFF. We asked them to remove it. Please check your bill before checking out. Overall, we spent $2766 - that is for one night, lunch, dinner, breakfast, waters/coffees. Spa was included (not tip). Split 5 ways: ~$450 each. ALL EXTRA ACTIVITIES ARE EXTRA COST (archery, yoga, painting, clay shooting, etc....)

Yelp
Going to keep my review short and simple. Pros: nice views, decent food, good drinks, decent service. Spa was very nice! (Probably the only thing that's worth coming here for). Cons: Barely any restaurants on premises. The service is very SLOW... it seems as though they are very understaffed. They also did not have any breakfast buffet !!! We did not get ANY valet and we had to bring our own luggage to our room. There should be way more amenities for the price. If we have to go to minerals to have fun there should ATLEAST BE A SHUTTLE!. This is not a cheap hotel so for the price GRAND CASCADES CRYSTAL SPRINGS IS NOT WORTH IT! Also, the old lady that works at the cafe on the main floor was on the phone for a good minute before she took our orders. SHAME!! ** They also only have 2 charging stations for the EV cars and we had to go to the front desk to get one of the charging stations fixed!** Only reason I didn't give one star because the food was pretty decent and the views are nice.

Yelp
Had a "deep tissue" massage at Elements Spa which you pay more for, was not deep tissue. My therapist was was very tiny I think to really offer a deep tissue which was over $200. Then had dinner at Kites. Asked medium well, but my burger came out well. Also asked for stuff on the side not on the burger, but everything was on it. I could see if it was busy but it wasn't.

Dynita M.

Yelp
The place is beautiful food soso but the staff at the front desk is the absolute worst!!!! They were rude and disrespectful

Pasquale R.

Yelp
We enjoyed our 2 night stay with the kid's. Pros: Biosphere - so much fun (and the cafe serves drinks...win/win). Walking - hiking and leisurely strolls encouraged. Valet - awesome! The young kids were very friendly and helpful! Rooms - clean and roomy enough for family of 4. You can opt to get a suite which our other family members did and we shared the kitchen area. Highly recommend for groups. Cons: Price - way overpriced. Food - restaurants we ate at were not very good. Even the breakfast buffet for $30 was not worth it. The cafe near front desk is constantly busy. Front Desk - I gotta say they were not very friendly. I know it's a theme now to find good help but a smile never hurt. I would return but now I know what to expect and where to go.
