I ordered premium Padrón Maduro cigars from Cuban Crafters, and one cigar arrived clearly covered in mold (see attached photos). When I requested a replacement, Cuban Crafters (in my view, deceptively) responded to me claiming the spots “do not affect the flavor and quality” and guaranteeing the mold-covered cigar was “a product of excellent quality” (full text attached). Mold is mold, and the cigar was obviously unfit for smoking. (No, the white spots were not plume). Initially, they instructed me to return it (presumably at my own expense, since they didn’t provide a return shipping label). When I called them out on their misleading claims, they quickly pivoted their position. Unfortunately, the moldy cigar was inadvertently thrown out before I could return it. Despite having provided clear photographic proof of the defective product they sent, Cuban Crafters ultimately refused to issue a replacement or refund.
It’s a $45 cigar… while that’s a lot of money for a cigar, I’m not posting this because I’m bent out of shape over $45. In my opinion, Cuban Crafter’s communications were made in bad faith and with the intent to mislead: immoral business practices is where I take issue. Furthermore, with so many cigar companies out there with superb customer service, I felt compelled to share my experience with Cuban Crafters.
