"Despite the name, Cuban Sylvain Bakery is more than just a bakery. The restaurant does serve fruity desserts such as tartaleta de guayaba, but there’s also pan con lechon, chorizo pizza, and lasagna." - Krista Diamond

Google
Delicious pastries, I got some to go. But the food no the same. It was our first time there and didn't see any lunch dishes in the menu but the lady who was there tell us they have different lunch menu everyday, I think it's better write down in a board so the people knows something there is out the menu. We ask for camarones al ajillo with congri, tostones and sweet plantains. The shrimps had veins, the digestive tract, I took off every single one to eat them. Also the shrimps were overcooked it was no soft to eat or cut. The tostones weren't fresh.

Google
Great Cuban pizza! We also loved the pastries and Cuban coffee. So much so, we booked a 50 person 2 hour feast.

Google
Cuban cuisine, small place but great food, the staff are very friendly, and the food it’s good and cheap...I recommend improvement the costumer service and use the glass dishes for serving food you guys need to make the difference, because all Cuban restaurants put the food in disposable plates...

Google
OMG it took me back in time to when I lived in Miami..... Absolutely the real deal hands down. Great tasting Cuban food.

Google
After 2 years of coming here I decided to leave a review! As you can tell i rated it 5 stars. It's always consistently great. Even the desserts are great. I do recommend coming here when ever you are in the area. I live on the other side of town and I always come here when I have the chance. Everything is good. Anything you get off the combination is great.

Yelp
Food is amazingly delicious. I've had Cuban food in Miami and Los Angeles at "fancier" places and this food is on par. It takes like authentic home cooking at a fraction of the price. We ordered the rice & beans mixed, the lechón asado, costillas de cerdo, plantains, and sopa de pollo. Everything was a perfect 10, meat so tender and flavorful. I also had a delicious cafe con leche that was made perfectly. Besides the food being absolutely delicious, the service was friendly and courteous. They all wore masks and had single use utensils and containers. The inside dining area is reduced to 50% Most people come hungry & eat quickly without lingering which is great to decrease exposure. It's on my bookmark list. When I'm in the mood for savory and satisfying food at reasonable prices, I will surely visit.

Yelp
This place is right behind another Cuban restaurant. I needed a cafecito 2.50$ and an empanada to get me thru my busy morning . Sad to report this place did not have empanadas or your traditional Cuban pastries. I ended up getting a cafecito served in a to go ramekin., was not a big deal . Coffee was hot but not good . I can't describe but if you drink expresó on the regular you know what I'm Saying . With Cuban expresó it goes like this Either it's good cafecito or no good ?! 3 Croquetas 3@1$)took 10 mins and I could not eat them. They where extremely seasoned and darker for lack of better words . Taste was oily :/ I'm still hungry and tired . Will keep looking for the right Cafecito in town I honestly don't think I'll be coming here again, but be your own judge . I only tried 2 of the many items they have to offer .BTW ( I felt the cafecito was a bit over priced for it being a shot )

Yelp
Las pizzas que es lo unico que hemos comprado y estan buenas. el servicio es PESIMO. Ni un hola te dicen y te tratan como si te estuvieran haciendo un favor en lugar de estar ofreciendote un servicio por el cual estas pagando. Pizzas are great, they lowkey depend of the cook that day. Service is so bad. Employees act like they are doing you a favor by taking your order and making your pizza. They don't even acknowledge you when you get there and they always have an attitude. Just that alone makes me don't wanna go there anymore. You are paying for the pizza and also the service. What a shame. Let's do better.

Yelp
me and my girlfriends where looking for a Cuban restaurant to eat and we found this little gem. Let me tell you the place is small but really cute gave me Cuban vibes. The ladies are so nice really great service, but when the food came OMG the presentation AMAZING the taste is DELICIOUSLY! I recommend this place for everyone to come and enjoy there food.

Vanni T.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and eat in if you can (or at least in the parking lot if you're social distancing). Our sammies came out piping hot and sooooo delicious. Delivery would make everything soggy and chewy. Give the cubano the respect it deserves and EAT IN! Probably the best sandwiches you can find out of Miami.

Robyn R.

Yelp
I needed a Cuban dish for a work event and I'm so glad I went with this restaurant! Really yummy pastelitos and amazing catering services! Best in town!

Laura S.

Yelp
Ordered a small ham and cheese pizza...... Not bad the ham was ok but the flavor is good the important part is that my husband liked it he is from Cuba so I scored high with this surprise Thank you for the great pizza I will defiantly be back to try different things from the menu the pastries looked amazing but I had to just try the pizza to see if this place passed

Letty C.

Yelp

S G.

Yelp
First time trying Cuban Sylvain BAKERY. What bakery!!? Food was ok. And only okay because the food tasted just like the service TERRIBLE. Upon arrival we were ignored and then was told with an attitude if we were ready to order upfront. The reason we did not leave was because the restaurant itself was so nice. I was looking forward to the pastries but they had none. Maybe if anything 2 or 3 here an there. DID NOT LOOK FRESH. Will not be returning.

Victoria H.

Yelp
They make Cuban pizza and other delicious food! Please check them out !!! They're located in a small strip mall but so worth the effort to find ! I love supporting small family restaurants! Definitely worth a try !

Meli P.

Yelp
If I could give this place a rate of 0 I would !! This place was good 4 years ago now is just the worst ,customer service is trash they don't even make you feel welcome and the pizzas don't taste the same anymore , I won't be coming back to this store just because I ordered a pizza on the phone so it would be just pick up and pay ,when I arrived I stay outside and I send my husband to get the pizza and when he came back I saw the receipt and it shows - tip: 4$ and I ask my husband if he tip the lady , and he said no ! Witch it means she probably tip her self or it was a mistake ,I send my husband back for a explanation!! I found it ridiculous doing that because to be honest it was only 4$ dollars but I got mad because that's so disrespectful ! she said since the Debit card that he used to pay was under a women's name that was obviously not him , that person has to call the store and ask about the situation with the receipt ! She charge 4$ dollars of TIP to herself and lies to my face saying it's a fee from making the order thru phone

Carlos H.

Yelp

Jessica M.

Yelp
Moved to a new area and decided to give this place a try. When you first walk in there are booths made out of cars and they are super cute ! They offer plates, sandwiches, pizza, and dessert all Cuban based. I decided to get the beef plate. It came with lemony cucumbers and tomatoes, beans and rice, plantains(you can pick sweet or savory I opted for sweet) and a huge piece of steak with lots of grilled onions. Everything was delicious ! I will say the steak was a little on the salter side but paired great with the fresh cucumbers and the sweet plantains. My girlfriend ordered the Cuban Sandwich. It came with the sandwitch and fries. The Cuban sandwich was savory and delicious. The ham was cut nice and thick and the cheese was melty and delicious. The fries were a little over salted but they were crispy and delicious. The one thing I recommend when eating here is asking for light salt or no salt because some of the stuff was pretty salty. I also ordered a guava pie to try for desert. Omg it was so good ! Sweet from the guava and buttery from the pie crust. I will definitely be returning to try out some of their other food. Oh and the price is very affordable about $25-30 for 2 people. Go check this place out and get some authentic Cuban food.

Osmel V.

Yelp
Good service just I didn't like that they is many Cubans screaming a full. I had to go and eat in my car since there was many people without mask screaming horrible. Pizzas are very good I love chorizo and pineapple pizza, also they have good pastries .

Carlos B.

Yelp
Uno de los peores lugares que he estado, pizza cubana quemada, deberian poner en el menu, fui a comprar un agua $2.79, cuando el costo es 10 centavos en Cosco, pedi h2o de la llave y me dijeron que solo para empleados, no regreso jamas

Bradley M.

Yelp
We had the pizza queso and Cubano sandwich was cold and meat tasted off. We usually love Cuban food and try to eat everywhere we go this was not good and bad service

Stefany V.

Yelp
I didn't know Cuban pizza was a "thing" but apparently it is. And it's decently good. A touch greasier than usual, with a slightly denser dough and a buttery crust, I would almost liken it to Little Caesars style. Pizzas come in two sizes, indicated as CH(?) and G (grande?)- the smaller of the two is generally $6 with the larger size closer to $8.50. The small is a bargain, as it easily feeds two. Toppings available here include roasted red pepper, pepperoni, ham and pineapple, shrimp, and chorizo. The chorizo is my pick, chopped small but distributed well, salty but not too greasy. Service does not speak English, so go in prepared to use hand gestures as needed if you don't speak Spanish. Menu also offers Cuban coffees (cortado seems to be the favorite) and various pastries and cakes. Check the "tips" on the app, as the Yelp page hours are currently inaccurate.

Evelyn Q.

Yelp
Listen, if you're gonna call yourself a Cuban restaurant at least try and be somewhat authentic. The "Pan con Lechon" was literally sliced of pork loin on maybe it was French bread? The "Cuban Sandwich" also came on French Bread slathered with ketchup and mayo The croquetas were skinny thin and I couldn't tell if they were of ham or what? The pasta de bocadito was off on its taste. The only thing that tasted authentic was the Jupiña and that's because it's in a can! These people need a serious lesson in Cuban food. Maybe take a trip down to Miami and have an authentic Cuban sandwich there. Anyone giving this restaurant/"bakery" 5 stars obviously hasn't had REAL Cuban food. This Miami Cuban will not be returning to this place. Oh.. and the prices? Ridiculous for what we ordered.

Annie M.

Yelp
Their Cuban sandwich is amazing, I also tried their mango shake delicious. Will definitely go again.

Charley C.

Yelp
Well I am always a fan of Cuban Restaurants. I am always looking for the perfect Cuban Sandwich. Not being Cuban I have needed help to find Cuban Cuban Sandwiches. This involves listening to others, while developing a taste, and tasting what is presented. So here is a Cuban Cuban Sandwich, made by Cubans. Oh Yeah! Not an Americanized Cuban Sandwich, but a Cuban Sandwich. excellent Sandwich, and superb fries. Order in Spanish, it helps. The restaurant is not fancy. It is very very clean. and I can hardly wait to come back and try the Cuban pizza choices as well. Thank You Cuban Sylvain Bakery

Julia M.

Yelp
I'm a bit disappointed in the picadillo we ordered today , it tasted like tomato sauce with a little bit of cumin , just wish the chef cooked with more love as it represents the Cuban people and this dish did the exact opposite, very disappointed

Sasyarie O.

Yelp
This is definitely the worst place we have ever been to. We were traveling to Vegas from New York place was disgusting and the lady who take our order doesn't make us feel welcoming was really mean Also the woman who looked like she worked in the back back give us the most nasty look that I ever had the only people who made me feel safe that my plate was not spit were the guys who cooked it they looked super nice i felt sorry that they had to work in such a shitty really sad after that I understand why the place was dead "Thi place is sucks plain and simple. This place is so lame, don't know why it has four stars, terrible service I WILL NOT BE COMING BACK.If I could leave negative 2 stars I would Este es definitivamente el peor lugar en el que hemos estado. NO VOLVERÉ. Si pudiera dejar 2 estrellas negativas, lo haría.

Juan Carlos M.

Yelp
Is a below the expectation, noise place (music to loud disturbing the customers), Cuban sandwich incredible tasty

Adri C.

Yelp
Small little hole in the wall. The service is a little slow, and the food is a little greasy. But overall, the food is pretty authentic tasting. Tastes like what your mom would make at home. It's not the most exceptional Cuban food I've had, but for a quick bite, hits the spot.

Anayeli P.

Yelp
Best pizza in Las Vegas !!!! Must try the chorizo and jalapeño and pepperoni !!! Always busy , recommend to order and pick up

J C.

Yelp
Yes a little bit heartbroken we went today and the place is closed yeah closed until further notice I guess the fixing up the place

Amanda M.

Yelp
I've only tried Cuban pizza twice and both times were in Las Vegas. It's a shame I never ate it growing up in south Florida, but my parents usually ordered Little Caesar's. I enjoyed the pizza at Cuban Sylvain Bakery much more than the one at Roly's Bakery just down the street. The pizza de ají was baked to order, arriving hot and topped with pieces of roasted red pepper. I really liked the thick, buttery crust and the way the cheese was baked all the way to the edge of the pan so it became crispy. A small pie costs around $6 and feeds two average-sized appetites. A shot of Cuban coffee was rich and flavorful, with sugar served on the side to sweeten to personal preference. The only disappointment was a guava cream cheese pastry. While they do bake pastelitos in house, a sliver of cream cheese the size of a pat of butter as filling was not proportional to the size of the turnover. The hours listed on Yelp are wrong. I think they are open every day from 10am-8pm and closed Wednesday but already submitted corrections to Yelp and then I forgot.

Lassie G.

Yelp
I really like their pizza. I took my boyfriend there because he had never had Cuban pizza and he was very satisfied. Their pizzas are super big and very cheesy. The one think I didn't like is that the pineapple in the Hawaiian pizza was not fresh, but other than that it was pretty good

Jose B.

Yelp
Extremely authentic Cuban bakery with a large focus on the aesthetics of there food. The taste is on point and sure to remedy anyone feeling home sick for the island.

Charles W.

Yelp
My favorite Cuban sandwich restaurant. Small menu, but they do it well and at a fair price.

Adriano S.

Yelp
The food is great Cuban food at affordable prices. The service is good also. They just did improve the Cuban sandwich by adding more pork meat, and the fries are nice and tender. They just need to be careful with the temperature of the food when served. All in all a good experience.

Felix L.

Yelp
This is a small restaurant that specializes in Cuban style pizza. Cuban pizza is not much different than a Classic Italian with the difference coming by way of the dough used and ingredients. They offer an assortment of toppings. They also have pastries and drinks. Today I stopped by for a coffee and pastry. Cuban coffee is really potent and has a particular taste that I love. I ordered a cafe con leche and pastry. Coffee was good. Service was pleasant. Interior space is basic. I didn't have a pie because I already had lunch but will have to come back soon.

Charlie D.

Yelp
Great little Cubano restaurant, portions are large and prices are small. It helps if you speak Español, because they do not speak English.

Rozlyn W.

Yelp
I went to Cuba last week and I was determined to find a Cuban restaurant when I got back to Vegas. I found Cuban Sylvain Bakery and to my surprise they surpassed my expectations and the pizza was awesome. I definitely recommend the chorizo pizza and the carne pizza .

Naisy R.

Yelp
Portions are very small. The lady taking the orders was rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there at all. My husband asked her two times for the food options they had and she was unhappy about it. We won't go back!

Arlet M.

Yelp
Pizza was delicious, doesn't quite taste like the ones they make in Cuba but that's nearly impossible to do. Service was also satisfying!

PolishHammer I.

Yelp
Who would've thought you get great pizza at a Cuban bakery in the middle of Vegas? Absolutely fantastic pizza, nice depth of the dough, good sauce and cheese combination, it bakes just perfectly. You can tell the owner is a true artisan at what he creates. I'd definitely return here every time I get back to Sun City.

L. B.

Yelp
Food is great and coffee is exceptional here. Their cortadito and cafe con leche taste like the authentic ones in Miami!

Vinnie B.

Yelp
For being a small hole in the wall place it is definitely worth trying. Very homemade taste at a good price. Definitely try the spaghetti with the mild chorizo sauce. We'll definitely be back when in Vegas.

Ilse P.

Yelp
Incredible flavor and quality brings what Cuban taste and style is i recommend this small place to all people out there Food was Fantastic!!!!! Thanks to there team for the experience!!!!

Andrew P.

Yelp
OMG best coffee ever. That's all I had. I'll definitely be back. I don't care if they don't speak good English. I moved from England 10 years ago and don't know why it is so hard to get good coffee here. The coffee here is as good as any I've had in France, Italy or Spain. I'm going to have a good day. Thanks Sylvain, see you soon. Can't wait to try your Cuban sandwich.

Cari L.

Yelp
Food was good but the service was not good. Being a little welcoming will help this business thrive.

Paul T.

Yelp
Saw this place browsing here on Yelp and decided to try the pizza. Stopped by on my way home from work to pick up lunch. Small place with a mom and pop feel. Went with a personal 'chiquita' Hawaiian pizza. They make it fresh so took about 15 minutes for it to be ready. It was definitely worth the wait. Dough was thick and chewy. Toppings of ham and pineapple were plentiful and not lacking like a lot of chain pizzas. After demolishing the pie, I was wondering if they had any sauce on the pizza. Maybe that's Cuban style without sauce? Anyway, with or without sauce it was very good. Will definitely be back and try their pepperoni sometime.

Sarah S.

Yelp
Love this place! My family loves to come here. Will continue to come and purchase baked goods!

Regina I.

Yelp
My husband and I visited for lunch as part of our "Team Lara Saturday". Cuban Sylvain Bakery is tucked away in a strip mall on the north side of Tropicana. The parking lot is small but parking is ample. Inside are four high boy tables with stools and a small bartop, making seating for just about 12. As such, it seemed most of the orders were to go. Let me get this out: this is not, by any means, a fancy place. It's straightforward - menu, tables, and pizza and very fair prices. Like the ambiance, the menu is focused: small and large pizzas ranging from $5-$12 with mostly pork-centric toppings (chorizo, ham, or Hawaiian) and a selection of Cuban beverages, including shakes. As far as bakeries go, the pastry selection seemed limited, but they do offer cakes and a few desserts. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cuban-sylvain-bakery-las-vegas?filter_by_userid=True&select=pibdh3ESU8EMzTIJ-DPZcQ&userid=5DFshFQlbQiQTvtzH7qwlA#RQzwp3EDKtwkBrt3tpqoEA Now, what makes a Cuban pizza, you ask? My extensive *cough* GOOGLE *cough* research leads me to understand the following: 1. The crust is puffier. 2. The cheese used is a blend of mozzarella and gouda. 3. The toppings are baked IN to the pizza (meaning crust, sauce, toppings, AND THEN cheese) All that said, at $13 for two small pizzas (one pepperoni and one ham), a Malta (AKA instant diabetes with 36g sugar 58g carbs), and a bottle of water, I'm satisfied. What stood out for me was the crust, which was definitely puffier, but not at all doughy. It was like a pizza crust had a baby with a loaf of Cuban bread and happiness happened for all. It was well baked and had a lovely cheesy crispiness on the edges. Clearly, from my photo, the the toppings were baked on top, but that's fine with me. We ate the pepperoni pizza on site and it was served straight out of the oven. The ham pizza was devoured upon our return home. I have to say, it was just as good a little cold as it allowed for the flavors of the sauce, crust, and jam to become more pronounced. Also, the jam was far more generously topped. The plan, next time, is to try the onion pizza as it seemed a popular selection among those who ordered after us. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/cuban-sylvain-bakery-las-vegas?filter_by_userid=True&select=pibdh3ESU8EMzTIJ-DPZcQ&userid=5DFshFQlbQiQTvtzH7qwlA#pibdh3ESU8EMzTIJ-DPZcQ

Yelp
We decided to try this place based on the Yelp reviews. I have to say that it did not disappoint. We had a small chorizo pizza and a small Hawaiian pizza and mango batidos (shakes). The pizza dough was light and airy. The sauce subtle, the cheese and toppings plentiful and tasty. The shakes creamy and delicious. (If you have never tried a Cuban batido, you are truly missing out. They are not as sweet as a regular shake, but they are delicious). I should mention that they only sell whole pies, not pizza by the slice. We also tried the pastelitos de guayaba (guava and cheese filled flaky pastry). Also very tasty. Just an FYI, the menus are in Spanish, and the pastries are located in the back, you have to ask for them. Don't worry if you don't speak Spanish, the staff speaks English. The place is tiny, but very bright inside and super clean. It is located in a small strip mall next to the Cuban used car dealer. There was no sign out front, you have to turn into the parking lot to find it. I have to admit that we did drive past it, and only found it when we used our GPS. They are across the street from Marketon if that helps. They have only been open for three months, but while we were there, a steady stream of customers came in, a lot of them repeat customers. We will definitely be back to try some of their other pizzas and shakes.

Darren C.

Yelp
My Barber is Cuban and said this place had bomb pizza. It sits way in the back so a little hard to find. I didn't know their was such a thing as Cuban pizza. Fantastic flavor and a buttery crust that was killer. Very interesting toppings especially liked a topping that looks like smoked bacon fat. I also had a Cuban Sandwich and it too was excellent. Yum go try it. Great service.

Yanara T.

Yelp
Good food, friendly service and the closest we can get to Cuban pizza here. I love the chorizo pizza hit honestly I've never had one I dislike. The spaghetti is great also and the portions are fairly large. I go here quite often when im homesick or just have a craving.

Gretter P.

Yelp
I came to place an order for a birthday cake. The open sign was on, so I proceed to open the door. The few people that were inside started making some gestures i didn't understand. Then a man came closer, and with very rude gestures pointed a some small later that said: closed on Wednesday. It would only take him a second to open the door, and say: we are close today. I apologize for the inconvenience. I simply drove two blocks down, and went to Roly's bakery, where they happily helped me. There are many restaurants in town that make great cuban food. If you don't provide good customer service, you are out of the game. Learn the business.
