"There are just a few tables in this excellent restaurant, which takes its name from its owner - chef. It serves modern and occasionally creative cuisine with strong links to typical regional specialities, such as eel and pasticcio ferrarese (a baked pasta dish)." - Michelin Inspector
Amazing place a hidden gem in Ferrara, Emilia-Romana behind an old simple buildings walls. If you are on vacation around Bologna and you are a foodie, pls do not miss this place. Its even worth just to drive to Ferrara for lunch or dinner however the small city also cute. We had the degustation menu for lunch 65eur that had 7courses that is rather 10 as you get also some small bites. I also had the wine pairing with it for 30eur ( 3 wine).I am a huge foodie and I only can say everything was perfect from start to end including food, service and wine. Even the wine glasses were fantastic experience to drink from them. The guys went above and beyond to make you feel home.
If you choose to go there it is easier to book for lunch as you have better chance to get a spot. Otherwise recommended 2 weeks in advance at least. If i will go back to the region I will certainly return for this experience.

It is a gem. I would go to Ferrara again just to visit this restaurant one more time. We had an outstanding dinner experience. We went for a tasting menu with a focus on seafood and fish with wine pairing. Everything was absolutely fantastic. My favourite dish was risotto with black squid ink. Wine pairing worked very well. Especially, we liked how yuzu sake matched the “meat and fish” course. In the end we took pictures of 3 wines that we liked so much that we want to find them to buy.
The service was excellent as well. The people were super friendly and attentive, we felt being welcomed.

We took the tasting menu (€65 for 7-courses, but we received more like 10+ courses). The dishes were well thoughtout, some with very surprising and unique combinaties, which worked very well. 10/10 recommondation

Very good restaurant, they do evrithing as you would expect, nothing worng, but the filling I had was that somone was over thinking about the concept od the dish and hey would look like and neglected the flavor. It was 90/100, not 95-100/100.

From service to presentation and taste of food and wine, 5 stars. It is a traditional menu with a contemporary twist. We would come back to try more items from the menu.

2 meals in 2 days! It was so delicious and such lovely service. I proclaim that it was the best pasta I have ever had! And I have traveled extensively in Italy. Don't miss the opportunity to dine here. I ordered the cappellacci pasta (stuffed big "hat") with a mixed meat (rabbit/pork/chicken). The pasta was stuffed with pumpkin. Don't miss this local dish! I also had the pigeon with fois gras! OMG. Also, the pricing was reasonable.

Their dishes looked good in pictures. It was a complete let down in reality. The only thing that tasted good was the eel appetizer. Baccala main was horribly overcooked with tasteless sauce. I could not eat but a small portion of it - very rare behavior for me. My wife’s appetizer and main were in the latter category as well. For the most expensive restaurant on our 5 day trip to Ferrara it was unacceptable. The wine that was recommended to us by the “sommelier” was one of the worst we’ve ever had. It’s such a shame, for Emilia–Romagna has wonderful wines. Service was virtually non-existent.
