Came here last night (Monday) and had a wonderful dinner. I ordered the lamb burger (delicious). My friend ordered the falafel & salad (also delicious), and we enjoyed delicious wine. They have an extensive wine list. Our server/ is think manager Erika was amazing, very knowledgeable about wine, and we had a great time chatting with her. Great atmosphere , very romantic, and we're looking forward to coming back in the summer when they have live music on the patio (6-9)

Google
Food and wine were excellent. There wasn’t a single dish that we didn’t love! (Chicken and Bruschetta were standouts). Staff were very friendly and helpful. Food came out quick. But could’ve done a better job clearing wine buckets/bottles and empty dishes as space was somewhat tight. But I’ll add that we were a large group of 14 and had a very good time. Thanks Sterling!

Google
Went here on a Saturday night. Luckily it wasn’t busy, so they let us do the flights. Our server (I believe his name was Sterling?) was super knowledgeable and gave us great wine recommendations to go along with our meal. We got the Flank Steak with the Yukon potatoes and the Lions Mane Ravioli. The steak was cooked perfectly and the whole dish tasted amazing. The red wines that the server recommended to go along with it complimented it perfectly. The ravioli was good and the white wines recommended went well with it. We also got the Lemongrass Crème Brûlée and Dark Chocolate Ganache with Mole Ice Cream; they were both really fun to try. I loved the location. It was easy to find parking on the street. It was expensive, but I felt like the experience was worth the cost.

Google
The past Saturday night was our first time eating at Cucina. We sat outside on the patio where there was plenty of shade. Real chill vibe, tasty, colorful food. It's a wine bar, so the wine menu was huge, but the dinner menu was small but varied. There were roughly six dinner items, and about the same for appetizers. The variety was enough to please. Check them out.

Google
Attended a large party, amazing experience. Lovely place nestled in the avenues. Live music, exciting menu, and over the top service. Outdoor area is amazing and we had perfect evening weather. Highly recommended for a date, party or small gathering. Great place to entertain out of town guests or anyone.

Google
My boyfriend and I had our first date here and just celebrated our 1 year anniversary here tonight. Erika is incredible, we always love seeing her! We were also helped by Katie and Georgie tonight who were very knowledgeable. The food is second to none and I love the intimate atmosphere. I’m so excited for it to be a little warmer so we can sit outside! 10/10 would reccomend.

Google
A Truly Exceptional Experience at Cucina We hosted a family gathering at Cucina for Easter, and it was nothing short of perfect. The food was outstanding—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making everyone feel at home. What truly set this experience apart was the incredible honesty and kindness of the staff. I had accidentally left my coat, which had my wallet in the pocket, hanging in the restaurant. Amazingly, three days later, Erica from the team reached out to inform me they had found it. I hadn’t even realized it was missing! Everything was untouched—a testament to the integrity of the staff. Erica and the entire team went above and beyond, not just during our event but in every interaction. It’s rare to find such genuine hospitality and care. The neighborhood and the people here embody the kind of community we all aspire to be part of. Thank you, Cucina, for making our Easter memorable and for reminding us of the goodness in people. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Spectacular and creative food, knowledgeable and helpful staff, and a friendly neighborhood environment make Cucina the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee, a date night, or a dinner with family, friends, or coworkers. Cucina has a lot to offer- live music Saturdays, wine dinners, and a seasonal menu that will keep you coming back. I cannot recommend this place enough.

Yelp
Best dinner I've ever had, no joke. We went in at random just to try it out. It is expensive but to us it was worth it

Yelp
Overall not super satisfied with our experience when it comes to food. The service and ambiance was great! However we did a multiple course meal and all the food options just fell flat for me. I was very excited to try out this restaurant and I am planning on giving it another chance because everyone always talks about how great it is but this time personally it did not hit the spot and wasn't anything great. I am hoping it was just a weird one time thing!

Yelp
Love this place. The food. The service. The ambiance. We drive all the way uptown from Lehi just to eat the meatloaf sandwich. It is divine. All of the salads and side offerings are homemade and delicious- everything from orzo to beet salad. They also have wine pairing dinners here.

Bob T.

Yelp
We've been coming to this place since 2000, always worth a visit for lunch, great people, good food and super chill. Dinner is a different vibe, not bad, just different, certainly worth visiting for dinner.

Yelp
We had SUCH a magical night here! We originally came because we heard they have frozen rose/sangria and we were so excited that a place in Salt Lake City offered those. It was the first thing both of us ordered, and they were both delicious. We got there around 8pm and it was the perfect temperature to sit on the patio. Our server was AMAZING - I didn't catch her name but she was wonderful. The owner was around as well and was bopping around and chatting with the tables, and he was so lovely to chat with! A huge thank you to him for taking the time to chat. The food was phenomenal. We were truly blown away. I got the porcini fettucine and my partner got the bison steak. Everything was so intentionally thought out and delicious. We each got a scoop of ice cream for dessert and the flavors were so interesting. My partner got the mole which was chocolatey and had a savory kick to it. I got their spruce tip ice cream and holy crap - it was just delicious, I can't even describe the flavor. So refreshing and interesting. Truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in SLC. I can't believe I haven't been here before. We will definitely be back.

Yelp
We went to Cucina Wine Bar for date night dinner tonight. Overall the service was lovely, the food was high class, and every plate was artfully crafted. We had an early reservation and opted for the dining room, but they also have a lovely patio, which has a nice vibe due to being tucked away in the avenues. We sat down with the expectation we'd be sharing a few appetizers and some entrees with wine, but the server let us know they had a tasting menu ($80/person), and we were wanted to try a lot of different things, so we opted for that. The portions were pretty small, and I could see a lot of people leaving here hungry, but I would say the quality and experience were worth it. We opted to pair wine as well ($30 extra/person), and I would highly recommend it as they picked the perfect pairings per course. You can see the breakdown of the dishes in my menu photo. My favorite bite of the night was the crab cake, but the bison striploin was a close second--super tender with a mix of different flavors and textures to accompany it. The bill came in around $280, which is quite pricey, but we knew it would be. Compared to our $400+ we spent at Table X, this would be a great, more affordable alternative for a high class meal. If you prefer large portions, this ain't the place for you.

Yelp
Came back for dinner and it was wonderful! Everything we got from the menu was delicious and portions were adequate. My favorite was the mushroom dish. Don't skip dessert!

Yelp
We used to absolutely love cucina and were frequent patrons, but they've gone downhill recently. My husband and I ordered the Thanksgiving dinner to go, advertised as a meal to heat at home for $60. We figured it would serve two at that price and offer some unique flavors. Clearly, we were wrong, as we opened the order to find one roll, one dessert, one scoop of mashed potatoes. The biggest item in the order was the container of bland gravy. We had expected phenomenal flavors and perhaps trusted too much based on prior experiences. Save your money and go elsewhere.

Yelp
This is a cute "old world" establishment. You walk in and order from their cased selections. The gourmet turkey panini was really good. It is slightly spicy. We also got a chocolate chip brownie is very rich. You get a bit of fudge taste with some salt. Dining area is spacious and has bench and chair seating. There is also a side area to sit outside. Parking is minimal in the rear, or you can choose to park on the street. Service was friendly.

Elizabeth S.

Yelp
Great price with healthy food options. Nice place to choose your seating as well with indoors or outdoors.

Mehak J.

Yelp
Made a dinner reservation to celebrate a new job! Took a bottle of wine with us :) Ordered the lions mane mushroom under a brick for the vegetarian option and it was tasty! Salad was average. Ordered two desserts because they both sounded equally interesting and they did not disappoint The outdoor patio and perfect weather at the beginning of summer made for a perfect evening. Their patio is dog friendly and we took our dog with us

Yelp
I LOVED Cucina. The ambiance up in the Aves is always a cool, young feel. This restaurant is a little gem that quietly sits in this excellent neighborhood and the food is delicious. The night we went, there weren't many other customers so we were well taken care of. Great service and staff. I got the seared tuna and I absolutely loved the yummy sauce and delicious rice paired with it. I would go back in a heartbeat to try this dish once again. We also tried the pizza and steak dish. They were both very good. There are lots of different meal options that can please all sorts of taste palates. I look forward to going back.

Yelp
This is my favorite place for brunch, the quality of food and the flavor are unmatched. Seriously this is the best place if you area real foodie! Not to mention how beautiful the place is and how amazing the staff is !
google avatar

Yelp
Food was incredible. The server gave great wine suggestions. We were all blown away by our meals and desserts. The ambiance is very warm, cozy, and a hidden gem in downtown avenues. Creative ingredients and dishes your mouth will thank you.

Yelp
Had a lovely experience at Cucina last night with a bunch of my friends! When I saw that Cucina had released a limited-time only Budget Tasting Menu, I immediately started asking my friends who would like to join me to try it out. I ended up having 10 friends saying they'd like to join me. I was shocked. The reservation was made over the phone with ease and the afternoon before the evening we arrived, Cucina called me just to double check the size of my party. I appreciated that they were so on top of it. When we arrived to Cucina, we were quickly greeted and served by Eddie. Eddie took care of my friends and I the entire night. He recommended this amazing red wine, Dunham Trutina. He made us laugh, he was so kind, and even graciously split up our bill between our group even though he was so busy that night. He was such a gem. The food was incredible. I loved it all. My favorite by far was the beautiful and flavorful Sesame Ahi Tataki. Chef Joey - I'm in awe of you and your food. Please, please, please do this Budget Tasting Menu again! I'd highly recommend you go to Cucina, you will be so glad you did, and I hope you're lucky enough to get Eddie as your server!

Yelp
Great deli! I stopped by for lunch, I happen to be in the area at lunchtime. Nice find! The gentleman at the counter who took my order was very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the Italian combo sandwich and it was fresh and delicious! It look like there were a lot of locals having lunch and pretty popular. When you in Salt Lake City go to the avenues and enjoy lunch or dinner and I think you will enjoy it!

Jason P.

Yelp
Ate here for Valentine's Day. Food was excellent. I recommend the crab cakes and the bison steak. Great wine selection too (no sweet wines though, other than port). Overall, a delicious place to eat with great service and nice ambiance.
google avatar

Dillon W.

Yelp
Went for dinner - I had high hopes and they were surpassed. Restaurant was quaint with a touch of class, but not at all pretentious. The menu and wine list were simple with enough diversity. The server was very knowledgeable, and all four dishes we approached perfection. Absolutely going back.
google avatar

Mitchell P.

Yelp
Aiming to come back to this place soon! Though I have not tried the food I'm sure the ambience is goodp
google avatar

Paige C.

Yelp
The food is amazing! We had the crab cakes (ate them too fast to take a pic), mushroom fettuccine, and the bison steak. Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Found this place on a whim. Went with my gut... and wasn't disappointed. This place is a nice hole in the wall spot near the university. I really enjoyed the ambiance and low key of this place. The food was really good. The breakfast sandwhich was declious with soft bread. Also enjoyed the caprese salad. My wife got the Curry Chicken Salad with a side of the Corn Salad. Both, flavor ful and delicious. My daughter was satisfied with her fruit bowl and roll. The reason we give this place a 4 instead of a 5 is the dry danish and rolls. The staff was accommodating and nice. Don't have any complaints about the service.
google avatar

Edward O.

Yelp
They come up in the search for vegan restaurants but really only have one light option. I have had mixed experiences with the staff, but the owner is a nice guy.

Yelp
First thing to get out of the way - if you're worried about the cost and whether Cucina is worth it, it is! We had the sesame crusted ahi steak, chicken, and a nice lemony custard/cake with a date crusted bottom. Everything wasn't only delicious, but also managed not to be too rich or too scant a portion. The chicken was cooked perfectly, falling off the bone and making it easy to mix with the pan sauce. The coconut sauce complimented the ahi steak very nicely, and the desert was nice and light but full of flavor. Finally, the service - I'm sure you'll enjoy Cucina regardless but you are in for top tier service if Becca is there to help you out. She recommended a beautiful wine flight that was light and crisp, complimenting the meal. She was neither forgetful nor overbearing. All of this packaged into a room that was neither too loud nor too well lit or dark. Great experience, will be back.
google avatar

Yelp
What a great find! Plenty of wine to pick from and the food was great. Outdoor patio was nice and service was good.
google avatar

Mark H.

Yelp
A nearby friend recommended this restaurant. It had open tables at Sunday lunchtime in January. We had half a mushroom sandwich, half a roast beef sandwich, coffee, and hot chocolate. All good! It would benefit from a boot scraper so that people with snow on their boots do not leave a messy and slippery patch of water.
google avatar

Renee B.

Yelp
It's a very cute, unassuming restaurant. The orange salmon is delicious, and they don't skimp on the sides. My friend got the dill salmon - which was also good (served cold), but I preferred my dish. Price is reasonable for the quality and amount of food you get.
google avatar

Jeff H.

Yelp
We had the chance to again experience the greatness of Cucina in SLC! Standouts from our grazing around the menu were Venison Carpaccio , Lions Mane Mushroom under brick, sesame Ahi Steak and the Pappaedelle pasta dish. All paired amazingly well with the '09 Izarbe Reserve Rioja. Just add beloved company to this unique and super-fresh lineup and Slam-Bam!!! Outstanding! My compliments to the chef!

Deborah D.

Yelp
A restaurant experience begins when the door to the restaurant opens, and so, before I could open the heavy glass door, an employee opened it for me, welcoming me in. I must say, I was at Cucina Wine Bar for a wine tasting event in the small side room. And yet, when I spoke with Erika, the manager, she was so amazingly cordial, offering water on this 100* day as I waited for the event to begin. A must try: orzo salad. Although this is on the list : "pick up some food" before a concert, a plate of orzo went well with some of that tasty wine. Photos to be added later. Go. Enjoy!
google avatar

Patrick B.

Yelp
Overall, a disappointing experience. Service was extremely slow. My wife's dish had avocado which was past its best and had that strong flavor that ruins a meal. Other meals ordered and served were quite small portions. Venue was nice but the music was way too loud. Won't be rushing back.
google avatar

Yelp
Have driven by many times and finally had the chance to stop in for dinner, and it was amazing!!! The service and our waitress were top notch. We ate out on the patio and enjoyed one of Utah's famous summer evenings in perfect temperature. We started with the fried avacado and it was very good, the presentation was awesome, great way to start the meal. Must order when you go. I was surprised when my wife ordered the mushroom under a brick. She doesn't like mushrooms but was intrigued by how cooking it under a brick would change the texture and she loved it. The taste was amazing! But I really like mushrooms. It almost eats like a steak. If I were a vegetarian this would be my go to steak substitute. We rounded out dinner with chicken appendages which we both agreed were really good but last on our list and a little spendy for chicken. And the pasta of the day which was a green spinach pasta in a very yummy sauce, very very good. All in all a very nice dining experience, great evening. Can't wait to come back.
google avatar

Marta S.

Yelp
Good menu overall, nice place and fine service. Salad and main course were delicious, but crème brûlée just wasn't it. Most impressed with the wine list, appreciate that most wines are available by the glass.
google avatar

Jorgen M.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants in SLC! Consistently fantastic, great atmosphere and great staff!!! You won't be disappointed!

Angi C.

Yelp
What a hidden gem! This restaurant is tucked in a neighborhood with beautiful old homes. We sat on the patio which was so perfect! My group of six co-workers tried this restaurant before flying home. We tried a bunch of items and shared family style. I took pictures of the food which were plated so beautifully- such vibrant colors. My favorites included the Buffalo steak, tagliatelle pasta with lion's head mushrooms, sourdough flatbread with goat cheese (my favorite), cauliflower, fried avocado, octopus with dandelion purée, salad with macadamia nuts and black ants ( couldn't try this- not too adventurous)..I think we tried more but can't remember every dish. Service was fantastic!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

Megan S.

Yelp
Visited Cucina's during lunchtime after a long game of golf. The weather was hot, so we opted to eat inside instead of on the beautiful patio. The inside was inviting and cool (temperature-wise). I had never been here before but have heard nothing but amazing reviews from friends. During lunch, you order at the deli counter, and a server will bring your meal to you. I order the Hot pastrami sandwich with a side of beets and to top it off, I added a frose. I am going to have dreams about the pastrami sandwich. The flavor was amazing the ingredients were fresh. No one in my group wanted to try the beets which meant more for me (if you like beets, it is a must-try). I LOVED my entire meal! I will be back (maybe on a not-so-hot day, so I can enjoy the patio seating)
google avatar

Richard B.

Yelp
Tonight was an exception. My tuna poke starter was fabulous. Two of us ordered the beouf bourginon. When we got i, everything was cold. Both of us returned it. My friends arrived hot but it was 75% fat and returned a second time. I switched to the confit chicken that was so dry, it was inedible. Bad. Night fir the restaurant

Sprague D.

Yelp
Four stars for the food, two for the slow service, averages out to three stars. My spouse and I went there for lunch, and we each ordered a sandwich and a side salad. We ordered at the counter, so waiter service wasn't an issue, but the food prep service was quite slow. We waited over 20 min. before it was brought out. Really - how long should it take to slap together a couple of sandwiches and dish out already prepared salads? The place, I should note, was not crowded or busy. So if you need to grab a quick lunch during a half-hour lunch break, this is not the place.
google avatar

Stacie A.

Yelp
Had company event here and the food and staff were amazing ! This has to be one of the best little kept secrets located in the avenues of SLC! Highly recommend for company events or simply a day out with friends . Has an amazing wine selection with educated staff to help you make choices if your just not sure what to drink ! Price range is moderate to higher end but worth every penny ! They have live entertainment from time to time . Really a great place for a night out or dinner before a show.
google avatar

Alina T.

Yelp
Came here on a recommendation of a friend. Wonderful atmosphere, very good food, not pretentious and the music, the personal attention were perfect! We tried the ahi tuna steak, the beef steak, the pan a cotta and lava cake dessert, and were not disappointed!!
google avatar

Lindsay S.

Yelp
Unbelievably delicious. The vegan items were so amazing, especially the lions mane mushroom. We went on a quiet Sunday evening and had a lovely meal with Georgie as our server.

Yelp
We had a good dining experience at Cucina. The surroundings were nice, but relaxed with friendly and attentive service. We loved the decor with intriguing antique items spread throughout the restaurant (it kept my attention longer than my wife probably wanted, but she is no antique). The menu is focused and full of unique dishes that will surprise you with their quality and flavor. I love nothing more than something that takes my by surprise (in a good way, at least). We enjoyed the Roma Crunch Wedge that is served with well-spiced popcorn chicken, delicious aioli, sweet corn, and aged pecorino romano. My wife enjoyed the sourdough flatbreads offered that evening. She loves herself anything made from sourdough. We also loved the Huckleberry Ganache. Now, I am from Montana, where most huckleberries are grown high up and deep into the mountain forests, so I have had just about every huckleberry dish imaginable and still love those berries. Cucina managed to surprise and delight us with this dessert (remember, I like a good surprise). Bravo. Thank you for a nice evening, Cucina.

Yelp
We tried this restaurant for the first time this week. It was good, but didn't blow us away. The appetizers were overpriced. The crab cakes tasted like imitation crab which was disappointing. We did like the entrees though and felt those were fairly priced. Overall, the atmosphere and service were great but the food and appetizer prices were disappointing.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent menu. Excellent wine list. Excellent food! Great neighborhood restaurant. Highly recommended Cucina!

Yelp
One of my favorite spots in SLC! The atmosphere is fantastic and the food is amazing!! It doesn't matter what time of the day it is, the food is spot on!! Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
The food was interesting and good, but the service was slow. We got there at 5:15 and had to do something at the U campus nearby at 7 so allotted a full hour and 45 min. We informed the server of our time constraints and still had to just walk out before they could bring us the dessert they "comped" us for being so slow. We ordered 3 appetizers and an entrée to share because we thought the appetizers looked better than the entrees. We waited a full hour before we got our first app. They said there was a snafu with the kitchen, so they were going to comp us dessert, but they didn't bring out our entrée until we'd been there for an hour and 40 min and we just had to walk out after scarfing down the entrée. Before they brought the entrée out we said to just box the dessert to go, we asked about it telling the server we really had to go as we handed him the check and he said they were just 'boxing it up'. 5 min later we had to just walk out. To feel rushed through a dinner when the place was practically empty, we informed the server of our constraint, and we had an hour and 45 min really kind of pissed me off. Oh, and there were people who came after us and were served ate and left before us wtf. Update: Cucina called me and apologized for the slow service. They offered a gift card to give them another try. We'll do that and I'll post an update on if the improved on the second try.

Yelp
yes, yes, yes. That's why I answered to people that asked me is this restaurant really good. My wife and I have never been disappointed along with any friends we are with. The outdoor dining has been great in a long Wilsee music kids played on the weekend. Dean, The owner has put together a great wine list. I'd suggest whispering Angel as one of those to try. Also the seared tuna. Wow. That's my favorite. You will like meeting the owner ,who is very charismatic and I anxious to fill your every need. Try it out. It's the kind of place he'll make you forget these trying times and feel almost back to normal. Oh, I just remembered it is open in the morning for coffee and pastries in the dilly part for special items. I work for Jami and I both appreciate your efforts.

Yelp
I love the many options that can be purchased with a meal or a la carte. Try their Arancini, the lasagna, the coconut crusted salmon, meatloaf, the Asian noodles, and deserts. It's basically comfort food with a touch of class and sometimes a slight twist of unique flavors. And the staff and owner are warm and welcoming. And don't overlook their pasta/pizza kits to make at home! It became a tradition to go there after a hike and enjoy the meal in their outdoor seating area, which for the duration of the meal, feels more like an Italian town eatery than a place in the Avenues.

Bethany S.

Yelp
This place is hit and miss their Frose is the best I've ever had and their Frozen Sangia... AMAZING. Price point high for their dinners. Hate to give a place three stars but I was disappointed in their bruschetta. We went in the summer and the tomatoes looked pink and no taste (had to add salt). Same goes for their Fettuccine had to add salt. Will be back and am hoping just a Sunday night fluke with an inexperienced chef...

Kamome K.

Yelp
I went there with a friend. We were very satisfied with the dishes we ordered. The satisfied and full feeling lasted for a few hours, which is my sign of good food. Normally I would give five stars with this much of satisfaction with food, but I can only give three because of my sad experience with our waiter. The waiter was very kind and attentive to my friend but somehow he decided to pay zero attention to my existence after I expressed I was not fully satisfied with the two wines I tasted. (Actually I was prepared to compromise with the first one.) Instead of suggesting another wine (or telling me he couldn't think of any), he said "you think about it" and left. When he returned to our table, he only interacted with my friend, totally ignoring me. If I were there by myself, I would have left, or asked to speak to the manager.

Yelp
Highly recommend Cucina if you're looking for unique, quality food and wine. Our waiter recommended a wine that was perfect for what I was looking for. We tried many of the smaller plates as well as dessert. The patio was cozy in a quiet neighborhood. We started with the sourdough flatbread, which was perfect with the wine. The crab cakes were sundry- extra crunchy on the outside. I also highly recommend the fried avocado- stuffed with a sweet and spicy cashew sauce. Dinner was finished off with a delicious lava cake.
