Hotel Cuevas La Granja | Caves you can stay in

"Granada has a long history of cave communities, notably in the soft-rocked suburb of Sacromonte, formed by those expelled as undesirable by the city: gypsies, Jews and Muslims. So it’s perhaps not surprising to find this complex of unusual, man-made 18 cave ‘houses’, set in a restored farmhouse in nearby Benalua. Each is uniquely designed, with a cave-like interior. Perfect to disconnect. The place is very beautiful, there are many activities to do, the houses have thick walls that isolate you from the outside temperature, and they are fully equipped. They have a restaurant with dishes very tasty and fresh local products. Highly recommended!! The treatment of the great staff very close and friendly guys. Amazing environment. Thank you!!!!

Amazing cave rooms. So cool and quiet inside. Very helpful and attentive receptionist. Lovely pool and great play park for kids. There’s not many shops nearby and everything closes for siesta so Would recommended bringing some shopping with you.. restaurant was very good and packed on the weekend.. breakfast very basic

My wife and I just spent 5 nights here as a base for our future house hunting trip. We were met by Maribel, she was so friendly we thought we had known her years, she could not do enough to help. The room was spacious with kitchen and sitting area, it was clean and comfortable. Having breakfast and all you can hear is the birds and a donkey. Wonderfull, would certainly stay again and recommend to anyone in the area to stay also. Excellent restaurant, nice pool, bbq outside each room. Great thanks.

Fun hotel to stay at. The room was clean but a bit warm even if it is in a cave. The breakfast was ok, nice that we got freshly cooked bacon and eggs. The woman at the front desk was amazing. She gave us a lot of good tips that helped us plan the rest of our road trip.

We stayed here as part of a cycling tour around Andalucia. We had a suite with a double-bedded room, kitchenette, living room and bathroom and have to say that it was a unique experience. The accommodation was well appointed and comfortable and the hotel's restaurant provided excellent breakfasts and dinners. There was an area set aside for communal relaxing that had an honesty bar at very reasonable prices and a swimming pool area for cooling down after a day out. All in all it was a great experience.

Hi,||I used to go and sleep over, but this time I would like to leave an amazing review about the new restaurant and its food. ||We went to have a dinner there with some friends, the service was excellent, and food completely amazing in this unique environment. I highly recommend that if you can’t enjoy the night at the cave but you pass nearly please try the food at the restaurant, specially the rabbit pate and risotto, we live in London and can tell you that is one of the best I ate in my live. ||Thank you guys and see you next year.||Guille IB

Stayed here for 2 nights and really enjoyed our quirky cave house. We had a well equipped studio with large terrace. There is an outdoor pool and sitting area. They have an honesty bar with soft and alcoholic drinks all reasonably priced. There is an on site restaurant but we didnt use this, we enjoyed cooking in the cave, we got our food shopping from Lidl in nearby Guadix. ||Dori was very helpful checking us in and advising us of routes to visit nearby. The scenery around here is amazing, we visited Guadix, the Sierra Nevada route and the desert route that Dori recommended. ||The only disappointment was we had no cold water, we did report this twice, but this was not too much of an inconvenience as we had only 2 nights but if we had been longer it would have been more of a problem. Worth staying here if in the area.

This place is a super expérience; the rooms and apartments are set in a kind of cave village which will remind you of Gaudí or parque guelle for its decoration. The rooms and apartments are caves in that they are hewn into the mountain, which makes for a great atmosphere and the kids love it. inside the room it is hotel quality, you actually wouldn't know you weren't in a normal hotel. The rooms are spacious, modern depending on which one you get also with kitchens and ensuite bathrooms. The location is a short drive or taxi to downtown Guadix, and besides forests where you can mountain bike or walk. The hotel also had it's own restaurant which provides an easy option if you've had a hard day adventuring
